Bluetooth improvements - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I made some changes in /system/etc/bluetooth/audio.conf that could improve the connection with cars or bluetooth headsets.
I didn't test it, I never use bluetooth. I think the only times I turned it on was by accident. This is not a real fix, but in many cases it solved the problem (it's a common issue among android phones).
The file changed is /system/etc/bluetooth/audio.conf. Extract the flashable zip to see the changes.
Let me know if these changes make your connection more stable.
Here the flashable zip:
http://www.mediafire.com/?xwqn5q2zrsn7qvj
Here a flashable zip to restore the original file:
http://www.mediafire.com/?vd5pxkcr10s2v91
It's not rom specific, you can use it on any stock rom.

Where you find this tweak?

gud work ! i've never had this issue but i hope this fixes the issue for the others !

I found references to that file by accident, I did some research and found that some changes could improve the bluetooth connection.
Probably I need to do some more changes, but I need some user feedback, because I can't test it.
For example I set
Code:
master=true
but I found that this would make the connection not possible with some headsets. However this will prevent audio playback glitches.

I'll be shamelessly pointing to my kernel, now: Try this. I fixed a bluetooth bug for the user simbita in beta 12. He had problems with his car audio system before and reported them to be fixed with this release. Beta 13 should work equally fine.

Nope :/ maybe it made my situation worse (my headset isn't auto-connecting). Gotta do more testing
PS: XDA_Bam, you got a new dmesg via PM! Feel free to share it if helpful
EDIT: confirm, after flashing this mod my headset isn't autoconnecting anymore. Gotta revert to old one.

Try this if you want: http://www.mediafire.com/?tdyvub5a2amqrus
I let this thread silently disappear because XDA_Bam fixed bluetooth and no one gave any feedback (I opened this thread two days before his fix)
Edit:
Anyway I think this .conf file will not fix your problem.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I read all messages before posting, so I was aware of the incompatibility...I flashed your second fix but the headset still doesn't autoconnect. Reverted to stock one FTM (and it auto-connects flawlessly)
BTW, my main problem (the one that we're trying to solve with XDA_Bam) persists: "long press on headset doesn't do/trigger anything, instead of starting/trying to start some voice dialing app, like normal android behaviour". I think it's Samsung's bluetooth implementation/framework/stack/kernel/software fault (on JP-MIUI, it worked flawlessly). EDIT: exaclty, didn't fix anything...just another try
My conf: i9003, CleanKPURom 1.5, XDA_Bam kernel b13, Jabra EasyGO headset (that works perfectly on other phones).

GPS issues on the TF300T? --- aGPS Patch now released, discussion over

DISCUSSION has ended. Post if you want, but SOLUTION is NOW available:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904048
Yes, I brought a customized aGPS Patch for this device just like I've done for 30+ devices so far.
Original post:
Can anyone tell me how the GPS performs on this device?
If you all think it isn't great, I can bring my aGPS Patch to this device.
I will require the following files:
/etc/gps.conf
/etc/gps/ (all contents)
I resolved the TF101 and the Prime's problems successfully. I bet I can resolve this one as well.
Well google maps only works with wifi...
Same here, when i was on vacation my digital compas kept spinning around and google maps couldn't even get a fix.
Neither did GPSFix..
After i did some googling i found a couple of apps. All didnt work out and in once it worked.. no clue what did it, but its still not great, when there is no open air you'll never have a gps fix and if you have open air you need a lot of luck..
Now i have a iPhone 5 and it sucks even more.. lol jk

How "cool" is it to download something, open it up, and see no real difference between it and my 1.x branch patch. And, I get no thanks.
I wonder how my 3.x patch would do here.
Just give it to me and I´ll tell you how it is
Which one of yours should I flash?
Just flashing
Download the Google Specific CWM Flashable build
Will test it out a bit

I would suggest the Google No-SSL 3.1: http://derekgordon.com/gps-files/agps.patch.google.build.nossl.v3.1.zip.
However, for the other Prime series devices I further modified data to work properly. There should be an XML file in /etc/gps/ which would require some tweaking for optimal performance if the 300 works like the 100, 200, and 700 series Transformers.

Well, could you download the ZIP and just extract the \system\etc\gps.conf file to your /system/etc path?
My 3.x branch has a large gps.conf that I don't want to paste. I don't want to have to try and trim it down just to drop here for a quick paste.
The reason being is that I actually took the time to describe for people what variables or variable sets actually do. This, too, was ripped by others who claimed to provide detailed instructions on the GPS configuration and how to tweak it.
I swear, XDA has become a ripping and no credits **** realm. But, I still like XDA for the most part....
so i got the conf file to the right path.
Rebootet and no GPS fix at all
So what changes I have to make in the xml file. Already openened it in Editor

That doesn't make any sense at all. If you're using Hydro's, which is exactly 1.x, then there shouldn't be an issue.
You have Wifi connected I assume. Further, I assume permissions are fine.
I think two Notes apply to you out of my extensive catalog of FAQ.
First, clear Cache and Dalvik Cache. Conflicts can occur when switching to this branch at first.
Second, "Location is way off? Like, not near you at all? This means your GPS is not actually being used. Try the following to resolve it: Goto Settings -> Locations and disable ALL options. Reboot into recovery. Clear Cache and Dalvik Cache. Reboot normally. Go back to Settings -> Locations and only enable GPS. Reboot once more and try your GPS again."
I'd like to get ahold of the XML file in /etc/gps/ if you want to work with me to get a fully customized patch made rather than the quick markup of just the .conf.
Which permissions does it use to have?
Rebooting now needs a bit cause of wiping cash 160 apps to optimise
GPS is there in a bit
Just send me your mail address in PM and l`ll send you the file.
Mail is on the way
So that everyone has a chance to test this if desired, do a Nandroid backup (DUH!) and flash: http://derekgordon.com/gps-files/beta/agps.patch.asus.transformer.300.test1.zip
The above operates the same was as the TF100 and TF200 patches I made operate. You'll have a new conf and XML file.
I'll drop this thread and open a DEV forum thread upon some more confirmations.

[Q] Music gives pauses while playing!

Hi Everyone..
I've a strange problem and i tried a lot searching the solution of it over the net and here as well, but in vain. I recently flashed my ROM and since then i'm having this issue. When ever i turn any feature on in DSP manager , tracks while playing start to give a short pauses. Any one having the same issue and any luck with solution of it? I'm currently using "SGH-T959V" Firmware 2.3.6 of Gingerbread-VUVKJ6.
When i turn it off, it plays fine but i need to use the enhancement, because without it, sound is not so good.
Please any advice or suggestion would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Can you please give us more information? What ROM are you using? Can you provide a LogCat?
Also DSP manager is built for CyanogenMod, so there might be missing libraries or any sort of extra stuff.

Actually i'm kind of a newbie to this android thingy, so please bear my unawareness of things. Previously i was using Valhala black edition, and i thought trying any other ROM would help so i shifted to another ROM, called "unnamed" based on Stock KJ6, using the kernal "bhundven's v0.1.1-rc2". I really don't know what LogCat is and where its found in device. Might a little guidance help.
Thanks in advance
I don't know why he said DSP was "built" for CM. The problem you are having is known and will likely be fixed by disabling the equalizer in the app.

Just the EQ. If you really like to use the EQ settings just find a player that has one installed. It's an annoying issue for sure. It is however well known and no one has been able to fix it that I'm aware of.

Yes i seems like its useless to work anymore. However, i found another plug-in and it works like a charm. So its okay to keep DSP aside!

I think it will be easy to fix this bug for the developer, but for a daily driver it's a really annoying bug, differently from a not usable hotspot.
Any bugs fixed?

notification and ringtone sounds.

I am unable to add my own notification and ringtone sounds the ones located on the phone work fine but any of the additional ones I added myself stopped working a couple of days ago and I'm not sure what's going on. Any help is appreciated.

i know this is something known by several users , included members from the Z-Community, workaround while ZTE release a fix, is by placing those "Ringtones" on your "MUSIC" folder, and use them from there.
