Ok try calling someone else to make sure its definitely your phone with the problem.. If it is then do a full factory reset..
If that doesnt make any difference, then i would suspect the mic is faulty. Also try to put the phone on loudspeaker and if they other person can hear you then it must be the mic.. Send it off for repair
Make sure everything is back to stock before you do this, the cheeky bastards at HTC will do anything to avoid fixing your phone for free,

I tried everything u said & still no go well thanks guess I'll have to send it out

[Q] [SOLVED] 'Hello hello'/Other side cant hear me properly

Hello XDA-Developers Forum
Since a week or two i got this annoying problem. When i call someone (or answer an incoming call), I can hear the other side clearly but they can't hear me. When i call my mum's phone to test it, and when i put the 'speaker' of hers on, and i shout at my own telephone, i can just hear a little whisper on my mum's phone speaker. Flashing an other ROM didn't seem to work. Also in Voodo Control, setting all settings to default didnt work..
Maybe someone else has experienced this too, and can help me with this?
I know flashing a stock ROM would maybe fix the problem but i dont know how that works.. There are like 10 stock ROMs to choose from; What one to pick?
EDIT: I've flashed to a stock ROM. Nothing changed. Problem not solved :l
83 views but no replies.. Come on guys, help please..
Sounds like a possible hardware issue. I would contact your carrier for warranty
Bad luck!
Flashing stock ROM next week and will contact the customer service..

If your fone is more than a year old.
If you don't have any warranty left, you can try this.
Open your fone, find the contacts that connect the microphone module to the motherboard. Clean it with alcohol, make sure they are in contact. Turn the contacts the other way slightly (eg, if they are at 30deg, make them 32deg.) assemble everything again. Or just give it to a professional.
I had same issue with my antenna. i used to get ZERO reception. i opened the fone, cleaned the contacs with alcohol, i got about 50% reception. i saw the surface was eroded so i colored that area with graphite pencil (don't ask why) and finally i got 100%. I know some may say its a ridiculous method. but it worked for me.
Try increasing the volume on your mums phone and test on someone elses phone as well to see if it's a problem with yours or your mums phone.
title
yes, try every possible combination, use different sim on your fone, call other fone for testing, put somebody elses sim in your fone, try talking thru headset etc. try everything. although i have a feeling he has already tried all that. but just to make sure before you take your next step.
PROBLEM SOLVED! There was just a lot of dirt in the 'pipe' thing of my mic

[Q] i5800 Heaphone Issue

Hi,
I have been having a problem lately with the headphone port on my phone.I don't use it at all for anything but for some reason, my phone randomly says that there are headphones plugged into my phone. This stops me from being able to hear sounds out of the speaker so i miss phone calls and texts. I also can't hear voices when I phone someone.
I am currently using the latest version of the "CyanogenMod (CM7)" port on my phone. Was wondering if anyone else was having this problem.
Sorry if it has already been posted, I have searched and couldn't find anything.

I have never seen anyone report this problem nor have i had it myself. I think it is a hardware problem so try sticking something in there if you want to experiment yourself or take it to a repair shop.
I have tried that before and it didn't help unfortunately. I did again just to check and it didn't help.
If I re-boot the phone it stops doing it but only for a short time.
I plugged some headphones in after the re-boot and they didn't show.
Maybe there has been something spilt on it and no one told me
Thank you for your help

Try flashing another ROM, preferably a Froyo ROM and see if it works then because it seems the problems stops for a while then appears. Hopefully that works.

[Q] Another Strange issue - No Voice in Incoming calls

Issue : When I attend an incoming call, I'm not able to hear the other party's voice. I can hear only my own voice back, but they say they can hear me just fine.
Contrast : No such issue when I make an outgoing call. All voices are just very fine.
When it started : Went back to stock 2.3.5 Indian ROM and restored from the Titanium backup taken while on Titanium S V2.1. But this is just the lst thing i remember doing before the issue.
Troubleshoots tried:
Software: Factory reset, on stock 2.3.5, and Titanium Rom with nothing installed other than the pure base OS.
Hardware : tried cleaning the mic opening (ya i know, but just a try), clicked the volume rocker a few times during the call.
Both did not help.
Google: There were 3-4 exactly similar issues on other models, but no one could find a fix, nor an update on how it went.
I dont think this is a hardware issue as the voice is fine when I make the call.
Guys... help me out....
Now that's weird. Don't worry we'll try to solve it.
Further you can troubleshoot by:
1. To rule our any possibility of the Receiving speaker being faulty, open your dialer and input this code (*#0*#). Now select 'Receiver(White)' from it. You should hear continuous sound from your Receiving Speaker, if not then its not working.
2. Trying to make a call using a landline phone so as remove the possibility of caller having any network issues and use a SIM from a different network provider on your handset to ascertain if its a network problem.
3. Is there a small popup with a heading something like 'In call volume' when using the volume rocker while receiving an incoming call ?
4. And does it at least show increase or decrease in the bar on the popup of 'In Call volume' graphically when you press corresponding volume rocker keys ?
Do post here what were the outcomes and also if you find what was wrong.
Thanks for your suggestions, Eagle..
1. To rule our any possibility of the Receiving speaker being faulty, open your dialer and input this code (*#0*#). Now select 'Receiver(White)' from it. You should hear continuous sound from your Receiving Speaker, if not then its not working.
Ans: Sound recieving perfectly. (too loud actually ;-) )
2. Trying to make a call using a landline phone so as remove the possibility of caller having any network issues and use a SIM from a different network provider on your handset to ascertain if its a network problem.
Ans: Tried from almost a dozen networ/phone cominations. No joy.
3. Is there a small popup with a heading something like 'In call volume' when using the volume rocker while receiving an incoming call ?
Ans : Yes, the usual volume level bar appears.
4. And does it at least show increase or decrease in the bar on the popup of 'In Call volume' graphically when you press corresponding volume rocker keys ?
Ans : Yes, the volume works fine. I can hear my own voice back very clearly, both in the headset and loud speaker .
Nothing works so far.. any other software related issue sthat u can think of..?
So one thing for sure your receiving speaker works fine and so is your volume rocker.
Usually most of the software related issues should be resolved when you clear cache, clear dalvik cache, factory reset, flash stock ROM and kernel on your handset.
I think you have already done all of these, right ?
I think some thing is wrong with your radio i.e. motherboard, you might have to go to the service center.
The problem may also be due to use of faulty Jack headphone, that galaxy R has.
Do check for that...!!

I was in office all this while and all i tried was restoring my CWM backups of all the ROMs I had and then making factory reset, clear cache of it.
Just reached home and flashed the stock 2.3.6 XWLA4 via Odin and made a factory reset, clear cache with nothing on it.. and guess what ?!
IT WORKED...
so far tried from a landline and a mobile, and mic works.. testing still going on..
The only only difference i could find was.. all my backups had root and now since I flashed via Odin, its unrooted and thats the only diff..
Cooleagle/anyone, do you think that could have made the difference..

OH MAN !!!!!
that was exactly the problem....
plugged in my headphone, plugged out and the NEXT CALL.... the problem recurred. as mentioned in the other thread, i plugged in and out the headphone a couple of times (without reboot) and then it started working..
I never knew the headphone jack of SGR had a regular problem like this...
I never used a hands-free for calls and only a couple of days back started listening songs from phone..
But i still wonder how after every CWM restore, followed by a reboot, did not solve the problem before..
Thanks a lot dude...

Thanks for posting that.
In his case it was not working for outgoing as well as incoming calls but in sarun's case he could use the handset for outgoing calls.
So it seems to affect selectively and not the same in every case.
Do you think I should put this in the FAQ's because it seems some handsets have this bug ?

Yea Cool_eagle.
Put in FAQ, but in exception cases or under some other heading, coz it will give wrong impression to users. As the user might take it that this problem occurs on all Galaxy R. (I am not facing this error on my handset)
Also put that Galaxy R shutdown immideatly when it tries to access the network.
Put the heading as some known problems with Galaxy R

Even i faced this problem. Whem I'm listening to music on headphones and a call comes, I remove the headphones and take the call, and sometimes I cant hear anything. Even outgoing doesnt work.
Pluggin in the headphone and removing it solves the issue most of the time. Else a reboot has worked for me everytime.
If it gets too annoying take it to service center, Even i faced the same fears as u but I finally took it (But that was cos of a different issue)
Keep us posted, Gud luck

No Sound

I just got my new HTC one S from ebay (seller says it was a demonstration device but fully functional). I cannot hear any sound. When I am in a phone call (I can hear the sound in the upper speaker where the sensors are but not on the back) and then start Angry Birds for example sound works. but As soon as I hang up it stops working. Phone Call via Speaker also does NOT work Got a broken device?
Anybody knows a solution? Tried reboot and hard reset of course!
This has seemed to pop up a few times now--no reason that I have heard
I would try to to return it--don't know ebay polices though
what do you think? Software or hardware related?
I have 14 days money back but I dont want to got it for 300 bucks...
Is it unlocked? If its not you can just send it to HTC and get it replaced/repaired for free

It doesn't look like hardware problem, because speaker wouldn't work at all, but if it works in the game, then it could be a software glitch. Have you tried to do factory reset on it? You will loose app, but your personal data, photos, videos and so on, shouldn't be deleted, unless you tell the devide to delete user data. If it won't work, you could try to reflash the device's firmware.
as I heard myself its only FRONT speaker wich works, rear speaker doesnt. Will send it in to HTC tomorrow
Same thing happened to me. I noticed that if you wipe the system and reflash the rom it will work again. A factory reset will not fix the problem. But a system reset will. To do a system reset you must install twrp. If you want twrp your phone has to be jailbroken

Issues With OPO 64Gb Phone

Hello,
since i bought this phone the call volume is very low, when i call someone or someone calls me i can barely hear them. I set call volume in settings to maximum and that did not help. When i call someone sometimes the mic does not work properly and the person who i called say that my mic has a lot of static and buzzing noise.
Another problem that started about 2 weeks after i got the phone is that it will randomly freeze and then do a hard reboot. I have another friend with the same phone and he says he has never had his phone freeze. i could be on the internet browser or just unlocking the phone to check the time and it would freeze up and restart. I have also tried restoring back to factory settings and also made sure the phone is the newest version of cyanogen mod. This phone freezes at least one to two times a day. anything i can do to fix this or is this phone a lemon and should be RMA'd?? How long will i have to wait for a replacement?? i have heard horror stories about their customer service.
try a different rom
n if that doesn't work
dont be cynical about the service
just contact the authorities

tried that and it doesn't seem to help. im going to wait until OPO's tech team says. If i have to root to get better logs through catlog then ill root it and go from there ( as long as rooting doesnt void warranty)
Hope they help you out. And to answer your question about rooting, no it does not void warranty.
Sorry I couldn't be much help.
Goodluck
I would definitely root. I had the same issue with the low volume. I adjusted the mixer path values manually. Search the forum for the volume mod. There is a flash zip version as well. The mic static is likely unrelated. I have not heard that before. Good luck!
Rooting does NOT void your warranty ( in fact good luck with that , the warranty part ... ) Unlocking the bootloader will though. As for the Oppo service, well i hope you are lucky and get an answer... If you are really not happy with it and bought it through Paypal, you would be better contesting the charges.
