The 0.3 kernel (now called rom racers kernel was there) everyone is not a noob just cause they have a valid question...I've had this phone since the week it came out in November, I've rooted devices from a Nook Color to a Super Pad, and all those in-between. I actually exchanged my 4S for a skyrocket..(best thing I ever did) Ive flashed every rom and tweak for this device. I just get sick of idiots trying to make ppl look stupid for asking a valid question on these forums..

i would have to agree with you. i haven't had the phone for nearly as long as you have but from browsing around xda (specifically gs2 and here) i have to notice that by comparison development is much slower in this section.
disclaimer: this is by far not a complaint, just an observation. i love the development that IS currently taking place and am very appreciative of it.
What about search lol

I think dev work is kinda slow on alot of phones right now. I know it has slowed down on my nexus s because a lot of them are waiting for the new sources of ICS to be released. A lot of the developers are doing great work. I think once ICS rolls out it will take off. IMHO.

I feel pretty good about what we have now. ICS will come eventually, who knows when exactly but it will come. I have two other android phones and a tablet that all run ICS very smoothly. But I still choose this gingerbread runnin beast everyday over all the others. In my humble opinion, there will definitely be some frowning faces on the day ICS is officially released for our device.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Honestly its all just hype. ICS will come out and within 6 months we will be jumping to the next firmware. I think the community should put more focus on fully customizing and enjoying the capabilities of gingerbread. I really don't think we will be satisfied otherwise. That's why devs get turned off to making ROMs. They make something awesome and we use it for a week and then want more. So much greed!

The infuse is falling apart, our development is ruined. We do have a few great devs, but not enough that can truly make this a good phone. New ports are coming everyday, but seems like people running the aosp roms (not me lol) seem to just want updates and updates only. Not to go hating on people, but please, please be nice and lets make this change!
It would be nice but I don't really see anything changing, too many new and better phones, it just seems the devs get bored quick and jump to the next best thing. Can't really blame them but it would be nice if the infuse could spake some more interest.

Dude you should do it. Maybe you could just release it every 2 weeks or so and then if anyone gives you any bull or something then just ignore them. I Understand how jordan got mad and there were people giving him crap, but shutting it down is like killing off a lot of people who loved it lol (I never tried it). I think there should be a main post stickied saying read this, and saying how if there is any bull, it will not be tolerated and you will be ignored. Someone should seriously do that haha!
There needs to be a weekly or even monthly port and no comments. If you have questions GO TO THE Q AND A SECTION! That way we can still get our sweet sweet rom and the douche bags can go flame else where.

The search function would answer your question. We don't have AOSP ROMs because we don't have source for the RIL. Official Gingerbread only came barely two weeks ago.
Will we get AOSP, maybe, maybe not. Just run one if the ROMs we already have. They are great. Develop if you want AOSP. Or wait and hope.
It even tires me hearing this over and over, just imagine how a dev would feel.

Maybe sticky a thread then, explaining why there is no AOSP for the charge.
If you search the "Verizon Droid Charge" sub forum for AOSP there isn't really any threads saying why there is no AOSP, mostly a bunch of threads saying "it's coming", or AOSP parts for the non-AOSP Charge ROMS. What else was I supposed to search for?

Planning on returning the phone.
Tried several ROMs, each had their own little to major issues . I'm not even sure if this phone will even get ICS considering it didn't even get an "official" Gingerbread until a month ago.
It even looks like the Motorola Droid Classic will get ICS.

Its been a while since MIUI was "started"... I totally forgot about it. :-/ This sgs4g is my first android phone so I have never used it, neither CM... but im enjoying what we have so anything that comes next its extra.
Question is, do you guys want a good solid working miui or a hacked together hardly usable pos miui? Things take time, and a lot of the additions I've seen coming out lately are all stepping stones. Hassling our devs isn't going to speed anything up.

Valhalla is pretty close to what you can do with CM. The real different is the t-mobile theme engine built in, and a few more tweaks. The only true benefit of cyanogenmod would be official support, so we would always be upgraded to the next OS. I'm not sure how CM9 will look though- it will be impressive no doubt.
Truth be told I do not know how they decide who gets official support. It is nice because you almost always have the latest OS before anyone. Then again, people tend to get bored with almost everything, if we had CM, we would probably still be switching to different roms. For example, I switched to Blandroid on my Nexus One because I would tired of CM. I switched back again, but you get my point.

I have had my Skyrocket for a week now. I use to have a Captivate. The Dev's and the community were fantastic. Here are my first impressions of the Dev's and community for the Skyrocket. Are you kidding me?! Really?! This is what I should expect?! Seriously, In the last week I have seen the Dev's, themers, and modders take a leaked ICS rom and turn into rooted, debloated, several roms, kernals, themes, tweaks and mods and more coming to fast to keep up with. Beyond amazing all of you! I'm in awe. And the community is awesome. I like my new phone. I love its new home. Thanks to all
Yeah, the devs around here really bust their asses. They deserve all the thanks, kudos, and brews they get.
I have to say, even looking in the T989 forum. so many less apps, and roms, and tips, and tweaks and other usefull stuff, and we basically have the same phone. I LOVE the skyrocket community.

Welcome! I'm an ex-Cappy owner myself. Awesome development on that phone. I'd say at least 75% of Skyrocket owners on XDA upgraded from the Captivate.
I've been with the Skyrocket community here on XDA since right after the phone came out, and it took a long time to get where we are today. Those early days were slow with not much available, but things have really exploded recently, in awesome ways.

Something I wanted to point out - I visited CyanogenMod forums the other day, and they have a dedicated section towards unofficial builds for phones that they don't officially develop for, and one of the posts was Liquid's ICS, and no one seemed to have an issue with it... in fact no one really said much besides that they liked it.
So let me ask you this... all this stuff about people getting upset because Liquid uses CyMod features as a base for features in his releases - don't you think that if anyone up at CM had an issue with it, they'd say explicitly that they have an issue with a dedicated developer making a build for a phone that isn't supported officially by CM?
Just a thought.
The cm team is aware of devs kanging their work to hell and back. By now I'm sure they don't care as often as it happens.
