[Q] Sensation XE ICS stock and root - HTC Sensation

Hi,
I have a sensation xe with ICS stock,s-off and supercid.
I would now enable root permissions, but I do not know how to make and are not able to find useful information.
I tried to install the file su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed but returns an error: Signature verification failed.
Do I need to install the clockworkrecovery to install su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed or I'm wrong file? How do I install clockworkrecovery?? Which file should I download??
Sorry, but I can not do that.
thanks in advance

Thank you Stringer
I followed the guide, installed CWM and superuser. But something does not work. The programs are unable to obtain permits, and superuser logs there is no trace of activity.
What should I do now??

[Q] Flashed wrong firmware while trying to root

Hey guys, I just rooted my phone and put in Virtuous's AOSP senseless ics rom. I was doing to same for my brother's, but I mistakenly updated the hboot to 1.23.000 halfway through.
What I did was:
I followed "[Guide] to installing s-off, ..."
Did step 1 and started step 2.
In step 2, instead of using the PG58IMG file for clockwork recovery, I used the PG58IMG file to update the firmware for the ics rom
The problem is that whenever I enter hboot, it checks for the PG58IMG file, and when i try using the one for clockwork recovery, it says "model id incorrect" and prompts me to press power to reboot.
Now, the phone has s-off, but doesn't have root. its hboot version is 1.23.0000.
Is there any way I can downgrade the version to 1.18 or less, or maybe get the clockwork recovery in the updated ics PG58IMG file?
Thanks in advance for the help.
I got the same error with the new firmware til I did super cid. Its easier than rooting I think. Sorry no link I'm on my phone. Just google super cid sensation xda and follow the steps in the thread.

Oh n u still have clockwork recovery. Just remove your sd card and put it in your pc. Then take off the PG58img file you installed through your pc. Then u should b able to go to recovery.

That is , you have to downgrade your firmware with a supported one.
Download the firmware with HBOOT 1.17 from sensation development forum and then flash it by placing it on the root of your sdcard. Then try revolutionary...
Hello
Use this tutorial =>
How to Install
1. Put all the three files (su-bin.zip, firmware zip and rom zip - available in the download section) on the Root of your SD card (this is for ease of access, but if u prefer not up to you , but firmware zip MUST BE in the Root of ur sd card)
2. Boot into bootloader and when prompt to update, choose yes and wait till it finished, in the middle of the process it willl reboot dont worry just let it finish what its doing, DONT INTERRUPT
3. Then delete your firmware file from ur sd card, probably through your computer.
4, after that boot in to recovery, SUPERWIPE , flash the rom, then after it finishes You MUSTstraight away flash the Su Bin Zip file (ONLY FOR 1.0.0) you downloaded (For root access).
Then Let it boot and Enjoy !!!

[Q] PG58IMG help

Hey guys,
I am a noob to this device, and i am trying to install some sweet custom ICS love on my Sensation! I am following the guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
and I have S-OFF! YAY!
However, Ive downloaded the CWM recovery file, renamed it PG58IMG (and it is a zip file), and then reboot it into HBoot to get it to flash, however, it reads the file, but then says no image found. I have tried this with PG58 files from several sources, including the CWM servers. Any Ideas?
regards
trev
If you have installed clockwork or 4ext rename it to update.zip and try to flash that way.
Just download from the market rom manager and install it.

In order to flash it from rom manager, don't I need root?
And don't I.need to flash that su file through clockwork mod? (which i don't have installed)

Im really sorry if im missing the point here. I downloaded superuser, but that still doesnt give me root, correct? Rom manager is still having issues running privileged commands. Im sorry if these are really stupid questions, but what do I do?

Guys, I really don't know what to do here. I got root by using htc super tool v3, and that got me root, then i installed rom manager, then flashed CWM. However, Now I am following the guide on flashing an ICS rom, and when I have to upgrade the firmware, it still says Image not Found on the firmware PG58IMG (i checked the MD5 sum and it was the same.)... Any Ideas?
Hboot version is 1.17.1111
I am really confused. When I boot into Hboot, it says S off and everything. I have 4ext recovery flashed, per the guide. Whats going on?
regards
trev
Are you super cid?

Help please

Hello, Can someone help me with the following:
I have a sensation xe originally branded to O2 and i have done the following:
Im now debranded and s_off'd and cid 11111111, and hboot 1.27 currently running ICS.
I have what i believe is stock recovery on the phone.
I would like to be able to root the phone now but i am having all sorts of problems
i have been trying to get the su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip which is now on sd card root and when i try to install it it says cant find cache install aborting etc.
Threads keep saying install superwipe etc etc etc this that please help with clear follow through of proceedure.
Install clockwork (or 4ext) recovery first, this will enable flashing of zip files e.g. superuser. Guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300

Hello everybody
I have HTC Sensation with original(no custom rom) ICS 4.0.3 and Hboot 1.27 version, i want to delete stock programs, which i don't need. I tried with revolutionary.io to root but it says that Hboot version is incompatible. So what can i do now? Is there any solution?
By the way, root and S-off is the same thing?

no root and soff are different
check for soff at hboot
deleting stock programs are difficult but with titanium backup you can freeze the system apps at least afaik
So what i must do to be able to delete stock programs? S-off or root?
You need s-off to delete apps as you are editing /system. However you can flash a custom rom which will install without all the junk apps. You need to unlock with HTC.dev then root. Be aware this has limitations, you cannot flash firmwares or use advanced fastboot commands. S-off is superior.
If you decide the flash, I recommend sharpy strpt cm9 - 8 apps when flashed!

You can't use titanium backup because u r not rooted. You need change ur hbooot to 1.17 or 1.18 to get soff. U need to revert back to gingerbread get ur soff first them u can upgrade to ics and ur hboot.

Can someone help me to instal new more stable rom, or just give me useful link with explanation. And how to check that some phone is rooted. Thanks.

You are already rooted. All the custom roms are rooted also supersu is the app which manage the root privilages so you are rooted.also I guess you have complete unlocked bootloader and soff
Which are required for custom Rom installation.
(Verify these on bootloader you'll have revolutionary in pink and soff when you boot into bpootloader)
For stable Rom I reccomend ARHD
Here is the link for rom

Unfortunately you cant S-off your phone right now, only with HTCDev, but this will not give you a proper S-off. You will have to wait untill Juopunutbear is released, this will give you proper S-off and allow you to do everything with your phone.
1. Need to Unlock Bootloader at http://htcdev.com/
2. After the download is complete Unlock Bootloader Recoverymanager file on the new computer to run on the DC Recover
Note: The above must be on the phone setting -> application -> On the next Unkown Sources and Development -> USB Debugging pop up
After the download is complete Recoverymanager file to extract, open up the program, press start, select download recovery, select HTC Sensation, select CWM 5.0.2.0 (pyramid) and click download and flash
After the show flash inflate a screen that asks Yes, No, cancel. Make sure you select No, the phone will reboot into recovery. If you choose the other 2 will not install.
After running Recovery may be normal in nhe1 thats alright.
3. After installation is complete you use CWM file attached to root su: in recovery, select the file and select install from zip file Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip.
Is this method also valid for S-ON ?
