I've scoured the forums looking for any indication of which frequencies the baseband in v21d comes with and came up empty. Specifically I want to know if it has the 1700 2100 aws bands for T-Mobile USA. I know v21a does, can anyone tell me if v21d does as well?

Nearly 160 views and not a single response. Sad.
Well, I flashed the German (I think) version of v21d and I still have 1700 and 2100 AWS bands. So there you are, if anyone wondered.

The ROM is now V21d German and respects the frequency band they use in Germany. I think they use the same as USA.
To keep the original baseband you need to install by ZIP and not by KDZ

My understanding is that there is also a v21d for Spain out there as well, but it may be the same baseband, I haven't looked into it... I need to learn more about EU carriers so this isn't an issue for me again in the future.
The basebands of both the Spain and Germany v21D are the same because both came from LG HQ in Korea. The full baseband version of v21D as reported by CyanogenMod 7.2 is:

The LG Updater app shows V11F for Videophone and V11H for WindMobile up there. Probably set up for the respective carriers up there - don't know if they use the same bands.
Plugged phone it into my computer with the LG updater set to Canada. It checked the software, and indicated that I have the latest (v10f), so no update available. Wanted to see if it would offer to download 11F ( I would not have done it though).
Yeah you might be right.
Could be specific to their carriers. I was wondering if it was possible to change the carriers specific changes to match the united states firmware but still be able to have the updated firmware if any thing really changed.

if you flash a rom that isn't for your region, you probably cant conect to 3g cause different regions uses different radio bands.
So, if you got this trouble, you might flash this binary via odin to recover 3g connection.
it's for north america, south america and thailand!
just flash any rom you want, then flash this in the phone section of odin:

I am reluctant to believe that you can't connect to a 3G signal because of a software limitation. If the radio does not support certain bands no modem.bin can solve the problem. The P6200 support 900/1900/2100 the P6200L support 850/1900/2100.

if you dont know yet, models like p6200 and p6200L got the same hardware. But the firmware changes, because of regions. That's why p6200 got 3g over 850mhz band and p6200, on 900mhz.
The modem.bin is the firmware for this region.. like a driver, that make this band freq work.
if you dont try this yet.. go ahead and you will find that you cant connect to 3g in your country. this is only for thailand and americas
dont talk if you dont try first man
cheers
You are saying that both the P6200 and the P6200L have the same quad Band radio on 3G at 850/900/1900/2100. But the P6200 has a baseband that only supports 900/1900/2100 while the P6200L has a baseband that only supports 850/1900/2100?
Has anyone else successfully been able to flash the modem.bin of a P6200 over a P6200L and connect to 850mhz on 3G?
P_
yup.. im from chile and my device was SOD. so i have to flash a firmware from rusia.. there 3g band works on 900mhz so i only have edge on my GTP. i flashed the modem.bin from thailand (where 3g works on 850 mhz, like in south/centroamerica) and voila: IT WORKS.
You are confirming what I am saying : your TAB is a P6200L, thus has a 3G radio that works on 850/1900/2100 . You flashed a baseband for a radio that works on 3G on 900/1900/2100 . While your phone was still working on Edge ( since the radio is indeed a quad band on GPRS/Edge ) it could not connect on 3G.
I am assuming that the code of the two baseband is the same for the GPRS/Edge part, and this is why you are still able to flash it and have it partially working on a radio with different frequency.
But do not tell me that the P6200 and the P6200L have the same radio because they don't.
P_
they do have the same HARDWARE but different FIRMWARE
You've lost your mind. Someone please call 911
i already test that on 3 different devices: i9003, galaxy fit and galaxy ace.. all the same thing. and now, the GTP..
that's why im talkin bout that.. because i try it already man

please be real. to say something AT LEAST try it first. you dont know anything about this topic, so please dont be like that. you can change the firmware to anything you want and vice versa.
It's possible, but you'll have to find the modem from the P6200. I don't think anyone has uploaded it yet (could be wrong).
you are wrong my friend =)

Matey I live in Australia I ihad firmware from Hong Kong but I the used this to fix a messed up ROM and wiped it with a pit file as well now I have lost 3G HSPDA all I have at the top is H by the way I am using a Galaxy S4 so far you are the only person that I have found with a fix can this be adapted to the GS4 to work on the original firmware?? If not do you know what direction to point me to I have tried doing all the manual APN etc. but no go please I would be so grateful for any advice given.....
DEVICES GALAXY S4 GT-I5905 NOTE II GT-N7105 NOTE II GT-N7100:good:
Thank you!
This method works for my P6200 phone. Now I can connect to 3G at 850MHz. Amazing, thank you!
I tested some kernels in v21a firmware that works perfectly on my p920h (in Brazil) , tried to use the custom firmware based on 21e and had problems of not having phone signal the rest worked perfectly :good: only the frequencies change that I believe is because the kernel have these configurations (correct me if I'm wrong) I wonder what I can use the firmware v21a, and what I could do to get good current firmware could work here with the frequencies of south america, I would like to collaborate with the community creating something to the O3D.
thanks

I have 2 phones, a P920 and one p920H! and I have had different problems in the network and lost signal.
it is something to work to resolve. for if the foundation is independent to why Cm7 works fine and CM10 not? Strange that! For this reason posted here.

Again edit: Flashed Bernies x-boot and u-boot and until now it's working. Really weired...
i've been on v 20e, v21a, v21d and v21e before using fastboot with bernies stuff noone worked and i always loose the imei and sim card after fastboot i've been on v21d , v21e and now 21f and all worked fine, for those who loose the imei and sim connectivity i suggest do a fastboot with bernies in order to solve this issue. it's all in here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35590814&postcount=93
Hey Guys!
So I have just gotten an S7 (930S) and apparently, there is a mismatch between the bands present in the phone and the one offered by my network. I would like to know if I flash 930F modem on my phone would that be ok or not? I just want to flash the modem as well as the CSC of the 930F model. I hope someone can take the timeout to reply to my query.
Thanks

Yes you can, hardware is the same. However when you talk about network bands I assume your talking about the difference between networks using GSM and networks using CDMA? In which case you need to flash firmware which uses CDMA radios.

Well, when I am talking about Bands I am talking about the frequencies in which they operate. For example, my network offers the UMTS 900 frequency, but that frequency is missing from my current modem.
Therefore, I am assuming that if I flash the 930F model's modem, which does supoort the UMTS 900 frequency, I will be able to operate on the UMTS 900 frequency. Can you confirm me on that?
Or will I have to flash the 930F firmware on my phone to operate on the UMTS 900 frequency?
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Yes 930F will work and install the radios you require.
The problem I am facing right now is that although the modem (Shannon335) on my phone (G930S - Korean) is the same as that on the international model (930F). But my phone (G930S) does not support one of the bands that my network supports which is UMTS 900 and that band is supported on the international version , although hardware wise (both are Shannon335) they are both the same.
So, I was thinking if i change my modem, currently its a South Korean modem and flash the international version modem could it work and make the band work for me?

Yes it should work
Thank You very much.
I would also like to know how should I choose and which modem to flash on my phone. Which things should I match and what to avoid during the flashing process. I have currently U1 security level modem, so when I flash another modem should it be U1 level as well?

To avoid problems you must match the modem to the version of firmware you are using, so yes U1 to U1. Flash the modem separately via Odin
