[Q] Application licenses vs Sim card - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hi,
My phone is unlocked to use a Sim from Rogers and AT&T.
Will Android software I purchased while using one Sim card still work when I switch to the other Sim card?
Regards,
Phil

4g and wifi?

Is there any actual hardware difference between a 4g enabled Xoom and just a wifi? My dad recently got an Xoom from work and I've installed the team EOS wifi nightly on it,can I go over and install a rom on here for 3 or 4g GSM connection or is there a hardware factor involved? If not then can I just put the sim card that's in my infuse in the Xoom and have it run off that (after installing a 4g campatible from)? Or is there more to it?

Us 4g xooms are not gsm capable as they're set up to run on the Verizons lte network which does use a sim card. It won't work with the sim out of your Infuse regardless of what rom you flash as it does not have the correct hardware. If it is a wifi only model it lacks the hardware to connect to any wireless network at all again regardless of what rom you flash. Hope that helps

Well it seems to have a sim card slot just above the micro sdcard slot and what about a 3g att sim? I do happen to have a 4g Verizon sim but its not activated

The keyword in your statement is "seems." It may have a sim slot, but its not connected to anything and it doesn't have a radio that is capable of connecting to any cellular networks, period.

... I never said that it was a wifi only Xoom, in fact I'm trying to figure out what kind it is, so I setup this thread wrong and asked the wrong question, the real question would be how do I tell what type I have?

If it has "Verizon" on the bezel the it is CDMA 3G (possibly 4G or upgradable to 4G) if not, the it is Wi-Fi. If you still have the box, look at the model number, it should be MZ60X where the X is a number between 1-5. You can then Google what the version numbers mean.

As a previous poster commented, if it's verizon you'll know. They put their branding all over it so it's pretty easy to tell. Enjoy your xoom

TMo Prepaid Question

Does a T-Mobile prepaid phone need to be cancelled or deactivated before anyone else can use it? An unlocked Nexus 4 to be specific.

The phone itself does not need to be deactivated...you just need to put in a different SIM card and you're good to go.

Is n5 micro or nano sim?

And what adapter will I need to connect to HDMI monitor?

There is mixed rumors about the SIM. Talk Android suggested it would be nano while the leaked service manual stated it was micro. To connect the device to a HDMI output, you can use this. http://mobile.walmart.com/m/phoenix...pter-Micro-USB-to-HDMI-Adapter-White/21648657. You may be able to find cheaper alternatives elsewhere.

That adapter will not work. Nexus devices use SlimPort not MHL.

After it fails to go through, just scroll to the bottom of the agreement and click submit, rather than entering your card number again. I was going through the same thing and it worked for me after three attempts.

AT&T sim cards

Hi All, I have an LTE provisioned line. The phone is a GS2 SKYROCKET. Can I just go to AT&T and get the smaller sim card that the Nexus 5 requires. Or do I have to perform major Surgery on my rocket card? Thanks in advance!

go into a ATT store and they will give you one..
I used one of those punchout cutters to cut the SIM card from my Galaxy S2 Skyrocket down to a MicroSIM. Worked with no problems in the N5, I'm running on LTE, etc. Less hassle for me than going to a store, and at least I had a SIM card that I knew would work!
Cool, thanks to both of you.

Shady message

This comes up everyday on my device, anyone have any idea how to stop it? I'm on att and yes my Sim card has been it and never removed.

Could it be your SIM card occasionally loses contact with the phone because it's a bit loose?
Just get a new sim card.

Id take the sim card out and wipe off the contacts a bit. Make them nice and shiny and then put it back in.

I wonder if its a hardware issue. If I close it I still have signal. No need to restart

Get a new sim from your carrier.
I had the same problem, eject the sim card and put it back in, make sure it's all the way in. It has not happened since I did that.
yea, seems like a contact issue, try reseating the sim, if that doesn't help i'd just go to att and ask for a new card
