Hi All, I have an LTE provisioned line. The phone is a GS2 SKYROCKET. Can I just go to AT&T and get the smaller sim card that the Nexus 5 requires. Or do I have to perform major Surgery on my rocket card? Thanks in advance!

go into a ATT store and they will give you one..
I used one of those punchout cutters to cut the SIM card from my Galaxy S2 Skyrocket down to a MicroSIM. Worked with no problems in the N5, I'm running on LTE, etc. Less hassle for me than going to a store, and at least I had a SIM card that I knew would work!
Cool, thanks to both of you.

I have been using my micro sim in my infuse and got a text from att saying I should change to a 4g data plan. Does it really matter because I don't want to change.
Thanks

I asked to change and noticed a 0 change in speed.
Cranky...
O dear they are going to change the NAME of the data feature you are on, that's right the name, not the feature, price, or your contract, JUST THE NAME!!! I would call and cancel if I were you....

When I first got my infuse about 3 months ago they sent me the same message and have continued to send them once or twice a month. I just ignore them and continue to pull down 6-10mbps here in Chicago

They make adapters.
EDIT: People moving from iPhone 4s(plural, not 4S.) usually keep them.and either are given or buy an adapter.

Thanks guys...I talked to a local Rep who said if I didn't change then some of my features wouldn't work. I haven't experienced that using my iphone sim card but if they change my plan to 4g would that affect my iphone the other way? I mean features not working.
I know there is no price change im just concerned about everything working right
I have to say I was having real trouble getting good speeds till I switched. I don't know if I was imagining it or if it was just coincidence, but i switched from an iphone, could only pull 1mb down and 250kb up. Got that text, switched it(its only 5 dollars more I believe) and started pulling down 5-6 mb.

Is there any actual hardware difference between a 4g enabled Xoom and just a wifi? My dad recently got an Xoom from work and I've installed the team EOS wifi nightly on it,can I go over and install a rom on here for 3 or 4g GSM connection or is there a hardware factor involved? If not then can I just put the sim card that's in my infuse in the Xoom and have it run off that (after installing a 4g campatible from)? Or is there more to it?

Us 4g xooms are not gsm capable as they're set up to run on the Verizons lte network which does use a sim card. It won't work with the sim out of your Infuse regardless of what rom you flash as it does not have the correct hardware. If it is a wifi only model it lacks the hardware to connect to any wireless network at all again regardless of what rom you flash. Hope that helps

The keyword in your statement is "seems." It may have a sim slot, but its not connected to anything and it doesn't have a radio that is capable of connecting to any cellular networks, period.

... I never said that it was a wifi only Xoom, in fact I'm trying to figure out what kind it is, so I setup this thread wrong and asked the wrong question, the real question would be how do I tell what type I have?

If it has "Verizon" on the bezel the it is CDMA 3G (possibly 4G or upgradable to 4G) if not, the it is Wi-Fi. If you still have the box, look at the model number, it should be MZ60X where the X is a number between 1-5. You can then Google what the version numbers mean.

As a previous poster commented, if it's verizon you'll know. They put their branding all over it so it's pretty easy to tell. Enjoy your xoom

Hello,
I have the SGIII and a droid pro. I was wondering if it is possible in anyway to have the same phone number on both phones with data and all that? Thanks for the help!
No

This is possible with two 4G phones that use the same size sim. For example the S3 and any 4G phone with the smaller sim or the thunderbolt and rezound with the larger sim. Just take it out of one phone and pop it in the other.

This plus for example. If u have a smaller dim card like the nexus or s3. You can get and adapter son it will fit inside of a phone that requires a bigger sim.... I made my own out of note cards to use in a thunderbolt at work. You can always turn off the 4g phone and call to activate the droid pro..... problem is the second u do that your sim is no longer usable and u will need a replacement

Does a T-Mobile prepaid phone need to be cancelled or deactivated before anyone else can use it? An unlocked Nexus 4 to be specific.

The phone itself does not need to be deactivated...you just need to put in a different SIM card and you're good to go.
