XDA Forums APP : Missing ? - General Questions and Answers

Hi all I noticed today that my XDA app has been removed from my phone, and I can't find it on google market/ google play. Anybody know what happened?

Same here, its just vanished

They took it down temporarily. Something to do with issues with google play or something. Will be back when it's fixed

Thanks for the info mrrick, hopefully they get it back soon.

Is there any kind of announcement or official mention of it?
I searched for this earlier and found nothing.
I would have expected a mass email or something.

When you typed this thread title there were links to at least two posts with the same question that popped up and the suggestion that you read one of those posts before starting a new thread.

Disable Service app weird update notice

Just wanted to update the "Disable Service" app from Google play.
At the "changelog" it says 1.5.9 - say goodbye.
Pretty vague description, not really trustworthy.
Does anyone know what the dev means by that?

'Just no need to update it.Never mind.'

Google now type app question

hi guys quick question. I have android ICS 4.0.4 which unfortunately can't use the swipe cards that Google now provides even with xda hacking.
I'm looking for an app that's similar to the cards Google uses ie weather, calendar, location if possible. I have metro which is very cool but no where like Google now.
Is there any app that is similar in api from the top menu with swipe.
Any recommendations welcome as from my searching the threads on xda Google now is not possible on rooted 4.0.4 due to Google restrictions - there not much fun are they lol.

A great app is utter! which can be found on the Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brandall.nutter

hi thanks for the reply, I have utter and agree it is good, but it's not quite what I meant, it's the drop down cards that give info is what I'm looking for like the later versions of Google now.
Thanks
Are you sure that you have searched xda for a working Google now for ics? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983337

I had already found it myself but I refer i cant find the same as my problem specifically in concrete www.itt-edu.us
I also started getting this yesterday. I can't offer any solution (scan with avast app doesn't find anything), but at least you know you're not the only one.
For the moment i solved it by installing app webguard from the playstore. But anyways i would like to know the reason why it happens.
Hey I have the exact same problem, where are you from? This might be a local thing affecting user from certain regions.

This is strange, I'm from Turkey and when I searched for "itt-edu.us" on google, I couldn't find anything but this post and another post from a Turkish site. They also claimed that problem only existed in XDA.

Yeah it also redirects me to the same app from Play Store. Is there any way to report this issue to XDA?

I love this site, and want to support them. However, all the huge ads, and popup ads make it impossible to make it a pleasurable browse. Nevermind the amount of mobile data it consumes. As much as I hate doing this, I'll be using an adblocker now.

In my case, using an adblocker has no effect on itt-edu.us ads.

This question has been answered countless times on XDA and on many other websites. A very low effort post on his part, sometimes people need to be called out on that. Even right now there are many posts in the threads with the headline "Google releases december update". Can't spell it out any better than that.

Why is my Google assistant saying "indiana" when asking for weather?

Here is audio recording of that: https://lonke.ro/tmp/2017_05_20_20_45_24.mp3?dl=0. (there is that "currently indiana")
And I attached Google assistant result here.
Been wondering for years what it actually says.. It can't be indiana.. Not native English speaker, so i might just miss something here.

Nope,sorry!
THANK YOU!!! It's been driving me crazy that more people haven't been asking about this. I urge everybody to ask Google for weather using a US zip code and see if it replies "Currently Indiana". This just started for me in the last month or 2.. previously it accurately named the town or city. The weather info is still accurate, however. PLEASE, if anyone has an idea of why, I'm all ears!

I think I remember reading something about this kind of scenario.
Sometimes it's a routing thing, the location given could be a major hub that you're being routed through and it sees that as your location.

It is trying to say "Currently in 99999..." but it interprets the "in" as the state code for Indiana and so it speaks allowed, "Currently Indiana nine-nine-nine-nine-nine..."
