Since two days ago i'm getting spam only from this site. When i surf xda chrome takes me to the following link www.itt-edu.us popping up a message that says my phone has been infected by a virus and if i select the pop up it takes me to the play store. Can someone confirm i am not the only one? It is really annoying! Please can anyone help me?
How about factory reset ? Do factory reset before your information and data go to some one..!

I also started getting this yesterday. I can't offer any solution (scan with avast app doesn't find anything), but at least you know you're not the only one.
For the moment i solved it by installing app webguard from the playstore. But anyways i would like to know the reason why it happens.
Hey I have the exact same problem, where are you from? This might be a local thing affecting user from certain regions.

This is strange, I'm from Turkey and when I searched for "itt-edu.us" on google, I couldn't find anything but this post and another post from a Turkish site. They also claimed that problem only existed in XDA.

I love this site, and want to support them. However, all the huge ads, and popup ads make it impossible to make it a pleasurable browse. Nevermind the amount of mobile data it consumes. As much as I hate doing this, I'll be using an adblocker now.

In my case, using an adblocker has no effect on itt-edu.us ads.

I am a phone junkie and have owned just about every type of phone there is and out of all of them WM Smartphones seem to have BY FAR the least amount of free apps available.
Am I just looking in the wrong places or are there really hardly any free apps for smartphones?

So the fact that you don't list even one good site for apps tells me you don't know of any good sites either. I guess I was right and there simply aren't that many.

Yes, I am familiar with Google.
What sites are good?
Most sites have a few Really crappy free apps mixed in with all the pay apps. Or worse yet have a few free WM Smartphone apps mixed in with all the free PPC apps.

i know this has been said before, but search google.
stop being lazy and start using the search engine you will probably find a lot more by inputting the right "search string"
you will probably get more of an answer from that rather from this forum because most of these users are just laughing at you.

Are you for real?
You bump a many months old thread just to say: search Google?
Do you seriously think that was not the FIRST thing I did?
Also all the other months old responses were saying: search Google, so how did you think you adding: search Google was going to be helpful?
Anyways it doesn't matter I have upgraded to a new phone 3 times since this thread.
But I still stand by what I said: Comparitively there really aren't that many free apps for WM Standard,

Hi all I noticed today that my XDA app has been removed from my phone, and I can't find it on google market/ google play. Anybody know what happened?
Same here, its just vanished
They took it down temporarily. Something to do with issues with google play or something. Will be back when it's fixed

Is there any kind of announcement or official mention of it?
I searched for this earlier and found nothing.
I would have expected a mass email or something.

I have LG Flex 2 ATT. I slept with my phone by my side and when I woke up I saw the phone has white screen and it asks for 'backup pin' and 'Account unlock' codes. I don't know what triggered it but I am not able to use my phone and it doesn't accept any google account username and password. I don't remember setting any 'PIN' on my phone either. How do I get in?
Any help please?
The best thing if you dont mind to loose your internal data is flash the KDZ firmware on the device, if you dont know how to do it search in this forum!
If you dont want to try...the only way to solve it is send it to LG support service!

I did a hard reset but after reboot it still asks for the same Google account as before. Second, AFAIK flashing any other firmware will brick my device.

are you sure they ask for google account?! i mean, that only happens when someone have trying to acess the phone and fail the PIN code or something for 5 times and the device get locked and ask for that...but i dont know anything else to lock the phone and ask for the google account!
i see some users get the phone locked by mcafee and ask for a PIN for mcafee and not google! is really strange.

This sounds like this isn't your phone. You can't remember the password or the google account associated with it? If you can't remember the google password, you can reset that.

I have already mentioned before that I would produce the proof of purchase if anyone does have a solution. I even wrote the same to LG too. But LG said they can fix it only if the phone is mailed to them and have a return mailing address in USA only.
For others who are in the same situation as I was, I found a solution. Though, I had to pay for it. After trying everything found on forums for almost a month there was no other solution left. Finally got my phone working, have to admit LG has done one heck of a job securing this device.

THANK YOU!!! It's been driving me crazy that more people haven't been asking about this. I urge everybody to ask Google for weather using a US zip code and see if it replies "Currently Indiana". This just started for me in the last month or 2.. previously it accurately named the town or city. The weather info is still accurate, however. PLEASE, if anyone has an idea of why, I'm all ears!

I think I remember reading something about this kind of scenario.
Sometimes it's a routing thing, the location given could be a major hub that you're being routed through and it sees that as your location.

It is trying to say "Currently in 99999..." but it interprets the "in" as the state code for Indiana and so it speaks allowed, "Currently Indiana nine-nine-nine-nine-nine..."

Without detailed information such as what kind of video, where you downloaded it from and what you used to download it, that is a tough one to answer.
If you got it through an app or web account that is a paid service, you might not be able to, plus, hacking stuff that is bought or supposed to be paid for is against the rules here. If obtaining/watching that video has anything to do with money, you're out of luck because we can't help you.
