Audio patch for HTC Desire S - HTC Desire S

First I'm very sorry, this should go to the development part of this forum, but I'm not alowed to post a comment in there. I'm android phones owner since G1 (2009), and free time developer. But this is first time I share something with you. Thiss will fix some of the audio issues, for example correct the loudness while stereo video reccording, and etc.
I'm really sorry for my bad English.
For any version of Android and Sense. From Android 2.3.3 to 4.0.3. From sense 2.1 to 3.6
Simply flash it via recovery.
No nead to wipe, it'll format the cache partition by it self.
Just to let you know, that this patch is only for unbranded europian Desire S (SAGA).
Since this thread is in wrong part of the DS forum, my recomendation is some of the devs put it at the correct place. And some of the moderators delete this threat.
Also i'm not responce if you somehow brick your phone with this patch.
Once again I'm really sorry for placing this threat at wrong place.
And here is the link:

Are you able to boot normal? In that case, what ROM are you using?
I saw this in the forum he first posted (www.androidin.net) it's a chinese forum for discussing android devices..
the original post was in chinese, I think he is using some kind of translator to translate it into english therefore the strange grammar..
let me add on a bit, he said (in the original post) that he has a TIM G2 32A. and he first flashed HBoot to 1.76.2007 then radio to 6.35, and then downgraded radio to 3.22.23.18. and results in what we see now..(he doesn't know what he was doing then.. therefore did not downgrade his SPL to 1.33)
he has flashed the official G3 and CM-mod and was successful at booting into the system and and use his phone normally.
yeah....Well, I have poor English skills. . Therefore, the use Google translation. . Do not mind.
I just want to clarify an issue
i have already seen it in chinese android forum. i also test this way to flash the radio and spl. it is no problem until flash rom into device(TIM 32a). phone was unable to reboot into system. so i think it may have some issue about what recovery you use.because i used ra-sapphire-1.5.2 recovery and fail flash in the end.
oh no,It is not a fake,I am also from China a forum to see, and then placed on this, see if he can explain what the problem
Because this is not my own。I would also like to know whether it is true.

"the OP's question "
what's the meaning of OP?
(chinese users call HTC Magic as G2, HTC HERO as G3, that's not correct)
phones with old radio may boot with htc-kernel-2.6.27 (with new SPL) or its mod which's source was released with SenseUI 1.5 of HTC HERO. but this combination won't be fully functional, since the user-space libs from HERO have different conventions with old radio.
phones with old radio won't boot with htc-kernel-2.6.29, because there are no HTC MAGIC support at all in this release of kernel ( the source is not released).
and yes, if he has an old radio and it could boot, he could use CyanogenMod. since libs in CyanogenMod have same conventions with the old radio. but don't try it, it is not confirmed, and there are no advantages you can take from this combination.

[Q] New Sensation owner

Hello, I am a new HTC Sensation owner and it's my first Android phone too!
I am very excited with the device but, before I screw up something, I would like to know a bit more.
I know there is the possibility, for Android phones, to flash the ROM and install a new one with improved features.
It is something that I will do, I'm sure, but, as mentioned, I would like to be sure of what I do!
So, how can I back-up the current ROM, in order to restore everything as it was when I purchased the phone?
I know about an app called Titanium backup, but it seems that it requires root permission...
Can you help me?
Thank you in advance!

Htc sensation has a locked builder (S-On), you can't install custom roms yet till it is unlocked by HTC or hacked by developers. keep an eye out in the development section. When it is unlocked. Word will spread there,
Also there will be guides of how to root, s off back up etc. once it is unlocked
In the mean time. Have you tried rom manager from the market to backup. download it. Enjoy your sensation

Hi, before opening a thread do some research. If you did do some, you would have found an answer to your question in the Sensation Android development forum. There is a thread about someone who gotva Sensation with unlocked bootloader. Read in this thread as much as you can and please, on the top right of every single page of this forum is the SEARCH box. Use it extensively, you'll save yourself a lot of time.

[Q] Replacing current ROM to ICS

Hello
I'm an owner of a Desire S with 2.3 Gingerbread Rom and I would like to upgrade it to 4.0 ICS.
I understood that HTC released only RUU update that requires booting my phone. I don't have the technical knowledge to do it, and I'm afraid to mess thing up.
HTC sense on android 2.3 doesn't support Hebrew and RTL text, so the networks in Israel aren't selling the device. I bought it from a private store, which booted it (I think) and installed its own ROM (it's actually just the same 2.3 HTC's ROM but with Hebrew and RTL support). So I wonder: if the phone is already been booted, will the installing procedure of the HTC official 4.0 ROM will be easier and won't require the complex process of booting?
What I'm actually asking is will I be able to do it myself without risks? Will it be simple as just installing something? If it is, please explain to me how to do it, from the basics, because I really have no knowledge at the subject.
Thanks you all from advance for your help!
p.s - sorry if I had some grammar mistakes.
Flashing RUU has been discussed just about a million times. Please bother searching.
If you can't find all the answers just by doing a simple search - you shouldn't be touching your phone. Otherwise you have good chances of ending up with a phone that doesn't boot, waiting for answers from the forum that might come - and might not. Because most of the people that are capable of answering these questions, got tired. I definitely did.
P.S. It's rooting, not booting.

Welcome :good: You need to read, read and read some more.
There are some great ROMs out there. If you want stability then stick with a GB-based one for the moment (Reaper for non-Sense and Endymion for Sense). If you want to be a bit more adventurous then try Fallout v5.0, based on the ICS RUU.
TO learn what you are doing - there are plenty of guides out there so make sure you read and understand exactly what you are doing and why before you risk doing anything to your phone.
Gratz on getting yourself the Ds, first if all!
1. First of all, by getting the mobile you just got into friendliest forum in xda!
2. And Secondly, before you start asking questions, there's some comprehensive guide about the specs, guides and tutorials, info, etc stickied in the general section
Edit : ah already see Simon has beat me to the welcoming committee

Thx for kind words of welcome, and just so to let you know i am reading all the beginers guides (not done yet). And at the same time i saw that ICS is officially on this phone now. So i am trying to install it but as it seems i need adb drivers and i have some difficulty finding them on my windows8. I found some for windows 7 but is says unsuported os on win8
UPDATE: grabed my Moms laptop with win7 and started to install this official ICS, but i cant keep doing that every time i need to flash rom (mom would come and turn it off right in middle )
Welcome, see link in my signature for the INDEX thread that should hopefully contain links to all you seek.

Hello man)
ROM installed on my device is ICE_DS 5.0 with kernel Tweaked 7.1 (battery life is great!)
ROM on 4.0.4 version need update manualy.
p.s. its older to buy
hey there, welcome to the club! if you want great stability and also ICS experience, and don't want to experiment, you can also flash Ice Cream Saga v1. you get the latest HTC stock rom, rooted, with only the most basic tweaks. you can customise it if you wish with amidabudha's tweaked kernel or leave it as it is.

Hi Kesh,
When you post a link, it gives you the option to change the text that appears 'above' the hyperlink . Well worth using the feature as it shows people exactly what you are linking to, rather than just the actual URL.

hello, the desire s is a beautiful phone that will give you much satisfaction, I think that the best rom is the fallout 5 and ICE DS 5.0. But made a little culture by reading the forum.

[Q] Noob Questions here!

Hi everyone!
I need some information here. I just bought new HTC Desire S.
1] What do you mean by ROOT?
2] Why should i root my HTC Desire S?
3] What do you mean by S-OFF and S-ON?
4] If i installed custom ROM, can i still re-use or revert it to the default ROM?
5] What ROM / HTC Sense Version / Android Version should i install in my HTC Desire S?
============
HTC Desire S info:
Android Version
2.3.5
HTC Sense Version
3.0
Model number
HTC Desire S S510e
Thanks a lot!
Looks like you need to read more and post less. All the info is out there, and Google is a good guide.
One general guideline, though: until you understand what things are and what they're good for, don't touch your phone.
READ all the guides/tutorials and you'll have your answers
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186401
If you don`t want to be a noob read more and ask less.
Go to Index thread. Close this. Thanks.
no permissions
I wanted to post a bug in the development section in the MIUIzero Rom thread. I guess i don't have enough posts or something like that. Could anybody give me the permissions or do I have to create 10 more or less useless posts elsewhere?
Well, you could try finding 10 useful things to say... Please... Or don't post in the dev section at all; that limit is there for a reason, not just to force you to make 10 useless posts...
