Can I flash my backed up stock kernel over Community kernel?

A few weeks ago I flashed the CWM Community kernel using SGS Kernel Flasher. No problems. Now I need to return Infuse to stock. (running stock ROM, only flashed v8 Community Kernel for ext4 and CWM Red). I backed up my stock kernel using SGS Kernel Flasher right before I flashed the v8 Community Kernel. So my question: Can I simply disable voodoo lagfix (via Red CWM), reboot to allow RFS conversion, then reflash the stock kernel (using SGS Kernel Flasher) over the v8 Community Kernel? Or will I create a problem flashing the stock kernel over the v8 Community Kernel? Will this remove the RED CWM Recovery? Thx.
i did that the other day with my wifes infuse, just disable lagfix, reboot you will here the robot lady again lol... go to SGS and reflash back to stock!
Thanks for the confirmation. Did you manually delete the /sdcard/Voodoo folder after reflashing stock kernel?

[Q]SGH_I997 UCKL2(Rooted, Deodexed, and Busybox)(CRT off)

I flashed this rom recently and everything was working fine, but I got stuck at bootloop after flashing the kernel using sgs flasher. So I flashed the non rooted version of this leak using odin. Now I can't root my phone using SOC. How can I root it? Would flashing the zImage from this rom using odin work? Any help would be appreciated.
There is no way to root the stock kernel...that's why I made a rooted version...to flash the stock kernel you have to disable voodoo lagfix in recovery....I posted that in op

Thanks a lot for the quick reply! Weird thing, I read that part but couldn't find voodoo on my CWM. Anyway I guess I'm gonna stock back to UCKD5 or something and then root/3e/CWM on top of it and later flash your rom.
Thanks a lot for the rom! Love UCKL2 so far!!!

To be able to root the official (non rooted) leaked GB roms, you just flash a custom kernel like Entropy's daily driver using Heimdall or Odin. Then, you have to install su and Superuser either manually with adb or with a CWM flashable zip. It's really not too hard to do. Once it's rooted, you just flash the stock kernel again for working video, etc. That's how I do it anyway.

Flashing from stock?

I recently used bhundven's one click back to stock because of cm7 issues. I've tried flashing ICBINB I get Linda converting but it boot loops. Since i'm on stock I don't have cwm recovery to flash.where should I start?
Install a kernel with CWM in it. The list of custom kernels is in my guide, linked in my signature

[Q] Problem after flashing Kernel......

Hi everyone,
I got problem after flashing Kernel on my I9003. I am on Slim beam v3.1 rom with signal fix kernel.
Every time, after I flash every kernel( siri, cm9 alpha 11 v3, cracker ....) in recovery, when i reboot, it stop at the Samsung screen (that one shows Samsung Galaxy S GT I9003) .for hours, and finally i need to reflash the rom through odin (becoz i cannot reboot to recovery but download mode) and restore my backup.
At the time i flash the signal fix kernel in recovery, i still get that problem. at that time luckily , loSconosciuto provided an odin version so i can flash the kernel.
Did anyone can help for solving my problem ? Thanks in advance
To revert back to previous kernel
for SIRI KERNEL
re-flash "CM10 Alpha 4" or restore your backup
for CrackerizerKernel
Download and flash "kernel-cm-10-A4-restore.zip" from here(might work for SIRI kernel-never tried)...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029921
for ALPHA 11 Kernel
you can just flash any kernel over it
u cannot flash custom kernels like u flash custom roms.. ie once u flash any custom kernel n then if u want to try other kernel, then u hav to flash ur present rom again.. then flash kernel.

maybe idont say it clear. everytime when i want to flash kernel, i did a clean flash from ddlf2, but i still get that problem.

Try xxkpe with pit file then flash ddlf2 then kernel of your choice.
You can try formatting your internal and external memory and then flash the stock rom through the custom rom with custom kernel.

[SOLVED] Help!!! can't get into clockworkmod recovery

Okay! i soft bricked my phone, reflashed to stock (gingerbread 2.3.6) with heimdall, Rooted. Installed Rom manager and CWM from it.
But everytimes i try to get into recovery, it's Android system recovery <3e> and not CWM.
This is really driving me crazy.
Well rom manager is known as rom mangler for this phone.
If you are on GB use heimdall to return to stock. Then use heimdall to load a custom GB rooted kernel to get CWM on it. From there you can choose to do CM9 or etc
