I don't know about just straight rooting but you can flash one of the one-click kernels that has root. All it requires is a working Java installation on your Mac.

ROM signing solution for Mac OS X (or Darwin at least)??

Is there a method for signing ROMs on a Mac? I'm getting into developing ROMs but right now all I have is a Mac. I could dual-boot the Mac, but that's too much like work.
No answer on this so far?

I use Android-sign to sign zips and apks on my mac. I've attached it below and just follow readme.rtf for where to put the files. The thread about it is here.
Thanks a ton!

[Q] Building CM7 on OS X

Is it possible to build CM7 from source on OS X for the G2x
Yes. But I believe that you require gcc which on Mac requires payment. Easiest way is install a Linux distro or run it in a vm. Then follow the Linux instructions.

Revolutionary worked fine for me on Gentoo (~amd64) when I rooted my wife's T-Bolt in Nov/Dec. I rooted my T-Bolt in March using the old adb method (psneuter, replace with modded version busybox, etc.) from Gentoo as well.
Well, actually there was a minor issue with the last step of Revolutionary (installing ClockworkMod), but that was trivial to do manually. If you're running Ubuntu/Debian, then I don't believe you'll encounter the issue.
it just sat at the 'waiting for device...' screen but i dont remember if i ran it c root permissions or not, ill def try that, thnx

You definitely need to be root or run it via sudo. If that still doesn't work, you can generally see where it's failing by running strace on the process from another terminal (it's like truss on Solaris if you're familiar).
ill def try that after i kidnap my gfs phone without her knowing, haha

[Q] Can't get my Infuse rooted

I've been trying for a few days and can't get my infuse rooted. I have the adb drivers installed, at least i think i do. When i check device manager it says its installed and i use kies to install the drivers. i tried superoneclick and it always goes unresponsive and when it doesnt it stops at step 7 waiting for device. i also tried DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT and it completes and reboots my infuse but no root access. if this matters im on baseband version uckk4 android version 2.3.6. im new to android btw.
Same Here
I am having the exact same issue. maybe someone on here will be gracious enough to help
Are try to install a custom rom or just wanting root??

What OS on your computer? Linux? Mac? windoz?
CM7 Infuse - XDA Premium
This one worked on the first 2.3.6. May work on the newest one also?

Edit: I just tried it on the newest 2.3.6 (UCLB3) and it didn't work.

Tony,
SOC doesn't work on anything beyond uckj4 gb.
you'll have to downgrade the build to uckj4 if you want to use soc.
the other methods of getting root on uclb3 is less conventional.
I use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092021
Easy Odin flash. You get a ROM UCKD5 which is rooted. And if you want CWM, it's just one easy step with Rom Manager. And then in the Infuse is all yours to play with.

Unlocking and rooting

Need a Mac toolkit for a Nexus s4g... Could do it the long way but thought I'd ask first. Did it on a galaxy Nexus but ran into some small problems. Got it done but with some stress. Thus why I'm looking for a one click tool kit for Mac... Can only find windows versions. Thanx in advance.

Look for fastboot and usb drivers for mac instead of a one click thing. This way you might succeed.

No drivers needed on Mac... I was successful wit my Galaxy Nexus. It was just a little harder. Toolkits make it so easy. Just figured I'd look first. Thanx

It's not that difficult. The only thing you need are the proper files. Get latest Cwm or twrp recovery and once you flashed that, flash the superuser zip or superSU.
