I'm stuck
I got my Sensation back from repairs with 1.18 and pressed on and rooted. I now run rooted stock 2.3 with S-On but unlocked using HTC method (Revolutionary didn't work for some reason) and ClockWorkMod with SuperCID
This is where the problems started
I can't get S-Off
I have tried everything I can find (literally been on this for hours). I've tried:
Revolutionary 0.4pre4 (which fails to gain root - possibly because I've already got root)
HTCSuperTool (v3 of which appears to be broken, btw)
Downloading various firmwares and flashing them (using the PG58img.zip/bootloader method)
I've even tried running the RUU exe and pulling the rom.zip, renaming that and dropping that in the SD card
Running the RUU (both the latest T-Mobile UK and the latest ICS version)
The weird thing is that it reads the PG58img.zip files, loads them, starts to parse them then goes back to bootloader and doesn't read them again unless I reboot the bootloader
Update: Re-locked the bootloader and still can't run the RUU for ICS
Any ideas?
Anyone? Please help!
I've just been through all this after getting my phone back from repair. Mine came back with t-mobile branded rom version 1.50.110.2 and wouldnt s-off with revolutionary. Luckily the phone still had supercid so i flashed RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.50.401.1_R_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_228602_signed.exe and revolutionary finally worked. You can read my thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538324
Thank you, I'll try that (if I can ever get a slot on the FileFactory download server...)
I've got a 1.17 hboot.img from Kohr-Ar (used in one of the PG58IMG.zips), could I use fastboot flash hboot hboot.img to flash that or would i be left with a brick?
Ok, got the ROM and tried to flash but I forgot that I put the CID back to the T-Mobile CID. Now, I can't change the CID, I always get:
>fastbooot oem writecid 11111111
...
(bootloader) vreg_set: request is duplicated id 14
(bootloader) pyramid_init_sd, SD card power on ok
(bootloader) sdcc_init_memory_device done

(bootloader) [JAVACARD_ERR] SMART_IO.CRD cann't find
OKAY [ 1.079s]
finished. total time: 1.080s
Any ideas now?

Try to run ruu ???
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Afraid not. I tried all sorts of things - best I can say is do NOT try to flash your bootloader using the fastboot method - found that out the hard way...
I think flashing an alternative ROM may help but I'm not sure. Maybe contact the devs of Revolutionary - it just wants a way of skipping the Zerging Root stage in V0.5...
Find my post and do it step by step run ruu then change cid

flash an RUU - go into hboot and find out what ROM version you were running before (by using fastboot getvar mainversion) then find an RUU with the same or higher version number and download then run it.

Hi,
I am not sure why you are trying to flash the PG58IMG
Can you not change the text file in the PG58IMG and then run the RUU from your PC.
Make sure your phone is in fastboot, then connect your USB cable,(it should say "fastboot USB" ) then, run the RUU.

Hi,

Just open it,change it,and close it.
It remains zipped, and you can run the RUU.

Btw another question, is there a way for me to charge my phone because my battery says its below 30% if I try to install an RUU
Paste the output for
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Remove the IMEI number & serial number from the output.
I'll link you to the right RUU or tell you what else you can try.
For now, don't do anything else.
You cannot flash a modified RUU because you are S-ON; so changing the android-info file will not help.

I don't think there is any O2 ICS RUU let alone 3.32 & you're S-ON, so can't flash a lower RUU.
But fortunately, all is not lost. Let's try this.
Please type these commands one after the other & paste the whole output for everything:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar cid
It's okay if any of them fail, you must execute all three commands one after the other & paste the output.
Hello, I'm a bit of a noob at this you could say but here I go.
I have unlocked my bootloader on my HTC Sensation XE using htcdev and then I have rooted my phone, I have S-OFF and my recovery is CWM.
My phone is currently on 4.0.3 ICS with sense 3.6.
I went to install bruce2728 latest version of CM10 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782009 and also GAPPS. After I had installed both and my phone booted up I was stuck in a constant bootloop showing the CM10 bootup screen. I then restored my phone using CWM. I tried several different roms including CM9 but was getting bootloop on everyone. So then I searched here and various other places on how to fix it, tried several methods and finally came to one instructing me to change my CID to 11111111 which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 at step 4. Which then when I did the command fastboot oem writecid 11111111 i got this message
(bootloader) vreg_set: request is duplicated id 14
(bootloader) pyramid_init_sd, SD card power on ok
(bootloader) sdcc_init_memory_device done
(bootloader) [FAT_ERROR] fat_open_file: can not find SMART_IO.CRD
(bootloader) [JAVACARD_ERR] SMART_IO.CRD cann't find
OKAY [ 1.079s]
finished. total time: 1.080s
I then searched this and how to get around it, and came up with one solution which was to download the PG58IMG.zip 3.33 firmware and load it into root of sd and then go on bootloader and it should install it but it immediately found it and disappeared. So alas I have no idea on how to get onto any custom ROM.
If you need any more details just ask.
Thanks
Mark
I suspect you don't have SOFF

So I have been doing this for a while now and this is the most troublesome phone I have come across and its probably a stupid easy fix or perhaps not fixable at all.
I have an HTC Sensation 4G on Bell in Canada. I got it stuck in a boot loop (nothing in the flash rom obviously). I can get into fastboot and connect to fastboot USB. I am stuck on
HBOOT-1.17.0011
CID BM___001
MID PG5811000
S-ON
Now my issue is that I have downloaded 2 stock 1.35 and 1.45 firmwares from bell (RUU files). Both fail at signature verification. When I try to manually install them I get the same error. When I look in the rom.zip file and open the android-info.txt it has BM___001 for CID and PG5811000 for MID. So why does it fail and how can I get around this.
here is a full getvar all from the device in case it helps

First of all edit the first post and erase imei from it.. You should not show imei's
Now to the problem
What error exactly are you getting when ruu failed ?
And also do this..
1.if you unlocked the bootloader... Relock it..
Command is
fastboot oem lock
2. Run the ruu with phone connected in bootloader/fastboot.. If connected properly the phone should say FASTBOOT USB

I am thinking that my bootloader is half my issue actually. I am on 1.17.0011 and does not say Locked or Unlocked. No matter what PG58IMG package I try (my own compiled or found online) it always gives a signature verification error. I cannot flash anything or do any fastboot oem commands like get_identifier_token as they end in a bootloader [ERR] Command Error !!!
So frustrated. I have all the info for the phone and done care abotu s-on or s-off, just want stock back on but even my stock BM___001 RUU packages give me the same signature error. I have tried 3 of them. I am not sure if it matter but I also cannot find out why I am on version 1.34.666 when stock was 1.35.666 when the phone was released. But I assume if I am going up in version that should not matter right?
So bootloader is not locked or at least as far as I know its not, fastboot oem lock gives the bootlader error as well
I have the correct RUU but it says I dont.
I am open to any ideas. If I knew how to run a rift box I would even order one to be honest.
Thanks in advance
Just an update before I go crash for the night.
All RUU exe packages end up stopping at updating signature and go to a screen that says ERROR 132: Please find the correct ROM package for your phone. I am using the ocrrect ROM packages, have check the android text file to ensure that BM___001 is in there and it is. The firmware I am on is 1.34.666.1 and am updating to either 1.35.666.1 or 1.45.666.1.
Getting the rom.zip and putting it in an SD card only ends up with a very long boot in HBOOT as it reads the 400mb file and does nothing after reading it.
Manual install through fastboot gives me an ERROR 12 signature error and asks to find the correct ROM package for my phone as well.
Trying to load ANY PG58IMG into the phone (even to just update the bootloader) gives me the same 132 signature error.
I am on HBOOT-1.17.0011 so there is no locked or unlocked and no fastboot oem commands work, all end with a (bootloader): [ERR] No Command !!!
I have checked 20 times tonight and the CID and MID match the RUU package so what would be the cause of this if anyone has any ideas. I have been over 200 forums regarding tons of HTC phones (not just the HTC Sensation 4G) and nothing has worked. Tried 10 ROM packs from all over the world, all end with 132 error.
Please if anyone has info it would be appreciated.
well as odd as it is, it seems to be ok now. i simply changed the android-info.txt file in the official rom.zip from BM****** to BM___001 and now it works... wow.... thank god though.
Hi,
I'm having a bootloop on my sensation xe. I never used a custom rom or anything, and last week i got the following error while updating an app:
"Couldn’t install on USB storage or SD card" I rebooted my phone, and then i got stuck in a bootloop (booting till the htc logo, then rebooting).
I tried to flash a stock RUU from fastboot following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672425 . The command line showed no errors while flashing, but this didn't help.
Also flashing 4ext and cwm recoveries didn't work, the commandline showed no errors, but on the screen of my phone the little progress bar on the upper right side never got filled, and the recovery just goes straight to the htc logo, and then rebooting again..
Version:
Relocked
Pyramid pvt ship s-on rl
hboot-1.29.0000
eMMc-boot
cid: HTC__E11
mid: PG5813001
Is there anything else i can try, or should i send it out to be repaired?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, i tried with unlocked bootloader and just like that step from the guide. After that i tried to flash again a stock ruu so that's why the bootloader was relocked again.

Running the ruu again now. I did try a factory reset, but again it jumps straight to the htc logo and then loops again
Edit: Same thing, rom update successfull, but keeps boot looping.. I did notice that the update seem to jump from 65% to 100% very fast, could that mean something?
You have latest hboot (1.29), AFAIK it cannot be completely unlocked.
Also, it is 'Relocked' ? Use htc dev token to unlock it again, than flash 4ext, and use it with 'smartflash' turned on.

Ruu also didn't worked right? Then mostly a hardware issue.. If you are soff you could try gingerbread rom.. But that's not the case
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
I have a HTC sensation which I am trying to fix.
It was working fine and then did an OTA update and it would not boot again and would lock up on the HTC logo with a white background.
I did manage to unlock the phone, but it is still S-ON because I am unable to get into the phone normally to get revolutionary to detect the phone correctly because it cant find the phone in recovery mode.
I managed to get EXT4 recovery image installed which helped me flash the rom to cyanogenmod 10.1 but it will reboot every 5 seconds after it loads into the menu.
I did a super wipe and installed ARHD but it only gets to the beats audio logo before restarting.
I was unable to find the correct stock rom or the RUU because the CID is TELNZ which doesn't seem to have many stock rom files around.
I believe that if I can find the RUU_PYRAMID_TELNZ then it will help me fix the device, but I can't find it on the net.
I tried to write a super CID so I could flash any rom to it but it doesn't work:
C:\AndroidSDK\sdk\tools>fastboot oem writecid 11111111
...
(bootloader) vreg_set: request is duplicated id 14
(bootloader) pyramid_init_sd, SD card power on ok
(bootloader) sdcc_init_memory_device done
(bootloader) [FAT_ERROR] fat_open_file: can not find SMART_IO.CRD
(bootloader) [JAVACARD_ERR] SMART_IO.CRD cann't find
I tried to manually update the phone with (I had to edit the file and add TELNZ*** to it):
C:\AndroidSDK\sdk\tools>fastboot flash zip PG58IMG.zip
sending 'zip' (14242 KB)...
OKAY [ 3.087s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
I also tried to put PG58IMG.zip on the SD card but the phone fails to update from the image with no error after it finishes "checking" the file.
Here is the info that I have gathered from the device:
Model: HTC sensation z710a
version: 0.5
version-bootloader: 1.18.0000
version-baseband: 10.14.9035.02_2
version-cpld: None
version-microp: None
version-main: 1.50.781.1
product: pyramid
platform: HBOOT-8260
modelid: PG5811000
cidnum: TELNZ001
battery-status: good
battery-voltage: 3912mV
partition-layout: Generic
security: on
build-mode: SHIP
boot-mode: FASTBOOT
commitno-bootloader: 9d24123f
hbootpreupdate: 11
gencheckpt: 0
What I am hoping to do is to get the device S-OFF and install ARHD Sensation 7.3 or a working install of cyanogenmod 10.1.
If anyone could offer me any help, that would be greatly appreciated.
**update 1**
I have found the reason that the roms are restarting constantly.
Basically the 1.18 HBOOT version I have is too low and causing issues.
I need to update to 3.33 but the revolution tool cant get root, so I am trying to use the Tacoroot method to try and get revolution to work.
The issue I am now facing is that I cant get past the first step because of this error: "failed to copy 'tacoroot.bin' to '/data/local/tacoroot.bin': Permission denied"
delete.....

use this guide to update firmware ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472298 )... If you already have 4ext recovery installed than move to flashing 3.33 firmware section..

I am unable to follow this guide because I am still S-ON, I'm trying to get S-OFF but revolutionary is not working and neither will the tacoroot method.

Yeah i forgot that device you mention your device is still S-ON and that's why i removed my abov post but you can still flash GB RUU.. let me find..
You're s-on... Then you must flash boot.img of the ROM you're trying to flash, using fastboot commands:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then immediately reboot.
Revelation™ ushered in a revolution... Right on, SebastianFM!

Thanks.
To go into greater detail, does this mean that I need to download hTC-Stock-FirmWare-3.33.401.6 (HBOOT-1.29.0000+boot.img+Radio+Recovery+etc.) and manually flash the boot.img via CMD?
What I have managed to do so far is run superwipe and install SENSEaY_XE35_v2.1.0 which is a modified GB rom.
I tried to then run the revolutionary method to get S-OFF but it always just corrupted the rom.
I also tried the tacoroot method but that corrupted the rom as well.
So for now I'm just leaving it with SENSEaY_XE35_v2.1.0 installed since that is the only thing that works and seems to be stable on the phone.
