Hello All,
Last night after I S-Offed my Desire S I instantly installed Custom ROMS for HTC Desire S and encountered a problem. No matter what ever I do,while I call or be called,I can't hear a voice neither the opposite party can hear a thing. Is there any fixes to this bug ? Neither whenever I get a call or SMS I cant hear the ringer-tone!
I also have encountered this same bug in many Custom ROM'S.
Neither I can't hear sound in any Media or Radio,Nor the loud speaker works!
Somebody please help me out!
Thanks in advance

Did you S-off using Revolutionary tool or HTC Dev website?
Can you post the contents of your bootloader screen and also what custom ROMs you have tried?
I have flashed via Rev,I asked some people about the fix and they told me to radio flash it...
I tried to flash the radio and it shows Fail PU - Press Power to Reboot.
Then I reboot to OS.
:/
Custom ROM's :
Cynogen MOD : 7.1 Stable and 7.2 Nightly and 9 Alpha
And BeatMod BlissSense Hybrid v3.2
I ain't no expert but try reverting back to the stock rom and see if it works

I also have that problem! First I was using MIUI (since August 2011, till January 2012). There is a "CallDelayPatch" on Market. It fixed the problem for some times, but not everytime!
After that i went to CM 7.2 Nightly! It was working perfectly first days, but also with that ROM I got same problems after some time!
That problem has taken me the pleasure to flash and test Custom ROMs!
So now I'm back on Stock (Prerooted) and my next ROM will be Stock-ICS
Finally I have got the fix!
Tell us about!!
@Mouzza,try the CoreDroid release and all of your problems will get fixed!!!
I flashed my DS with it and all started working like a CHARM!!!

Hey,
So here's some backround info just so you know. I recentley updated to SkyICS 4.2F6-2.3 and I recently added the Awesome Beats App to my phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765437
Previously before i flashed the update and added the app the in call volume was alot louder. I currently have the in call volume up but it still sounds really really quite.
Can any one let me know or find a solution to this problem.
Thanks
Any help would be appreciated..
p.s. I flashed to 2.4b of Sean's newest rom.

Happened to me too.
Cleared both caches.
Wipe data/factory reset.
Format system.
Reinstall according to his instructions.
Calls are super loud now and back to normal.
I have problems with the audio of the call with the following roms:
[ROM][MIUI][9/10/2012] MIUI.us v4.1 Jellybean based ROM
AOKP JB Builds (Sept 9th)
people tell me they can not hear me or hear me very far and hear an echo.
To the OP, it's probably a bad flash, also from my experience there is no app that can boost our in call volume, or at least none that worked for me.
To Iuk2009, did you try chancing radios and if that didn't work reflashing the roms? Also you could try asking these rom devs to make a phone.apk with noise suppression turned off which causes issues to some people. If you have a case try removing it, it may not have holes in the correct places.

Hi
I've just tried to do a install of the Darkforest custom rom - version 6.1.0.
Im running Hboot 1.27.1111 and am S-OFF I'm using the clockworkmod recovery
I've installed the update.zip via clockworkmod and the rom seems to have installed okay - i've done the superwipe etc too - but now when i turn the phone on it starts to load upto the beats logo and then doesn't get past that point?
Anyone have any answers for me please?
The only answer I've got is: I have tried flashing it last week, had the same problem, couldn't solve it and used another ROM.
Every ROM works fine on my device, but Darkforest didn't.
install 4ext recovery and try to flash it again.see if it works
best wishes
Guys, please read maybe the last 4-6 pages on the thread. Known issue and I've only had a sensation for 4 days now (and 2 of them don't count because I've been at work or out) meaning I haven't had a chance to debug it yet. Latest stable version is 6.6.0

I actually have similar problems
Hello. Actually, I'm having very similar problems as you. In my case, after trying all combinations of custom ROMs (dark forest included) firmwares, etc, I'd found that I'm unable to boot ANY sense-based rom, even though they all successfully install without any issues. I then attempted to install aosp and aokp based roms and to my surprise, it worked flawlessly! I know for a fact it's not a software or installation issue because I repeated each attempt on my sister's Sensation 4g and it had zero problems my particular phone experienced. As of right now, I'm totally stumped as to why this is happening, but I guess I'm lucky that I could still function running Touchcream 2.1 or CM9. Please try more combinations of roms and fw to see if you're having similar problems. If you do, then there's a possibility that we're having hardware issues.

Hi thanks for the reply - I'm in the same boat too I've just installed the viperS ROM and worked fine first time so must be something up as Jonny has nicely pointed out - i'll stick to this ROM untill i see an update from Jonny on his thread.
Many thanks
Hi Friends,
Let me start with thanking the xda team for making such a great platform for customs mobile OS development. I also thank Team Venom for their wonderful rom for Desire S. Its fast and elegant.
But after the installation I realised that my WiFi is not working. So I searched in xda, found out that I have flash boot.img manually, I did and it is working now.
The only problem with this rom I am facing is the audio. There is some kind of distortion as if the audio level is being clipped. By the way I am using poweramp to play music. Is anybody facing the same problem? found any solutions?
Kindly help me guyz. I will appreciate it...
Thanks

Audio is a known issue with the ViperSAGA ROM, have you updated it to v1.1.0? That does clear it up a little but other than that there is nothing being done about it. Sorry.
Thanks

Thanks for your reply brother,
I tried couple of times with fresh install, even updated to v1.1.0. But no luck. I have gone back to other rom as I listen to lot of music using headphones. Otherwise I am really proud to install Vipersaga when this audio glitch is corrected. Because Vipersaga is the best custom rom I have ever come across.
Thanks for your help
May god be with you. :good::good::good:
V2 is apparently being released in a few days, there may be an audio fix included?

The minor bug of vipersaga is the sound quality, it will be better if you use no sound enhancer. But, in the upcoming weeks vipersaga 2.0 will be released, and the changelog said fixed sound issue. Hope it will be true..
Sorry for my bad english

Have You flashed the Kernel from the .zip, or from another ROM? I see your kernel is for miuiv4, so maybe that's why your mic doesn't work.

I've tried CM4.1.2-kernel-21_modded.zip but nothing changed.
FYI i'm just curious(it is custom and its appereance so beautiful ) so i tried the ROM and tested it, for now I already restored my phone to the latest backup before i install the MIUIv5.
But still if there is a solution to my kind of problem, please share here... maybe there will be another guy with the same problem comin here asking for the solution
thanks for replying :good:
I had the same problem with calls, but using either version from miuiandroid or en.miui works fine.

Hello!
First and foremost;
HTC Sensation (bought in sweden).
S-ON (i flash the kernel/boot.img manually after flashing the rom)
ROMs:
official cyanogenmod10 nightlies: http://get.cm/?device=pyramid
albinomans 4.2.2 cm10.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2115520
I am having an issue with calling. Specifically, when making a call you get a very robotic/static voice and in order to fix this I would have to turn speaker on/off and only then can I hear normally.
I've seen this being reported but haven't really found a fix. Is this bug something that simply isn't fixed with CM10+ ROMs or am I missing something very obvious?
Jellybean is really that much faster than stockICS so if i can keep JB i would be happy, but i am considering trying out a Sense4.1 ROM (ICS) or so if this issue persists.
Thanks for any info/pointers in the right direction.

Hi,
This is an old problem, that has never been truly "fixed"
Your method of turning speaker on/off seems to work well.

Thanks for the information. Do you know if this strictly applies to Jellybean roms or AOSP roms in general?

Hi,
I have not used many JB ROMS.
I have not noticed it recently on Sense ROMS.
It has just been occasional on AOSP,AOKP,CM ROMS.
Does anyone find a solution for this robotic voice calls...

I had this issue with any combination of hboot, radio, cm (9 and 10), etc...
And the SOLUTION was to remove Viber.

That did fix it for me (sultans 4.4.3 with 3.0 kernel) however multiple people reported they still had the same problem after disabling it. And he is on 4.2.2, don't think google now was there back then.
