I727 for T-Mobile 3g - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I have a galaxy s 2 I 727 unlocked for T-Mobile I have tried adding apn for [email protected] to enable 3g. But it won't save. Any clues

is it stock? If it is you need to flash cwm through odin and then flash vk1 radio from t989. I'm not sure if the stock rom plays nice with different apns, so i recomment flashing a different rom as well through cwm, like mhx superlite or a silver's sti. Then u should be able to select proper bands and make apn changes.

Hi. Thanks so much for responding. After unlock. I installed juggernaut v5. Then per instruction immediately flashed r34p3rex_t989 skyrocket conversion.zip. according to those instructions all I needed to do is to custom input the apn. To a predefined set given. The main problem is when I input the custom apu it doesn't save. My device is rooted

I'm running an ATT skyrocket on Tmobile network as well and I have tried every current ROM/Radio combo to try to get ACTUAL 3G speed and cannot. My phone tells me I'm connected to H/3G but i'm still getting Edge speeds. Did you ever resolve this? I am about to do what you did, with the skyrocket convertion zip + juggernaut v5. These are old ROMs but I will do anything to get this working on the Tmobile network. I am wondering if you have since found a new ROM to get this working? Maybe something ICS or JB?
Thanks!

Need help after flashing T989 Rom to AT&T Skyrocket i727

After i haved flashed Paradox II LOVE T989 Rom To Skyrocket i727 and then the Conversion Package, everything is working right i even added the AT&T APN and im receiving SMS and MMS. But the problems are in settings and MODEL NUMBER, it says SGH-T989 instead of i727. And also when i try to install AT&T Visual Voicemail, It says its not compatible. Is there anyway to fix this?
Changing the Build.prop should work..
In a file manager go to it and you will see where it sais the model and change it back

What tool did you use to root?
Check your apn settings.
Edit: inspire is a at&t phone. Tmobile uses different bands. You will only get 2g on tmobile using the inspire. Its a hardware thing.

idk someone rooted it for me
You probably have the att apn settings and it may be the reason its not working. Your gonna have to Google tmobiles data and mms apn settings and adjust them on your phone.

Just go to rom Dev forum and see what their instructions are to flash. We don't use rom manager anymore we all use 4ext recovery which is usually installed when we flash custom rom. You can place rom zip on root of ad card (not in any folder). Power up into hboot with power button and volume down at same time then enter recovery that way full wipe and flash. Or see if you have the option of booting into recovery when you press power button to shut down. Rom has to be specifically for our phone do not just flash any rom if it ain't from here at Inspire 4G or DesireHD you will greatly regret flashing it.
Edit: we can also use DesireHD roms as well, there are some really good ones there as well. But remember DesireHD only.

[Q] No service after new ROM flash

I previously had CM10 (experimental) and was having issues with crashes so I decided to flash a new ROM on my device.
I then chose to flash onto LiquidSmooth 4.2.1. After playing around in Liquid, I found some bugs and decided to look for a new ROM to flash.
I chose to flash to CM10.1 Nightly, which I know has data issues. I wiped pretty much everything prior -Dalvik, formatted my SD, formatted system, and whatnot. After my first boot, the phone could not finish "activating the network"
Right now I cannot send/receive calls or texts or have data. I have a small "R" at the top of my signal bars where 4G usually is. I have tried dialing *#*#4636#8#* and made sure LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) was selected.
Would flashing to stock ROM resolve this issue? Or what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance

I flashed back to touchwiz. I have 4G capabilities, but still no phone service. Should I still try flashing an unofficial CM10 and setting CMDA sub to ruim/sim?

Can anyone confirm getting there at&t skyrocket to make calls threw T-Mobile's Wi-Fi calling feature running a stock Hercules Rom on the T-Mobile network of coarse. Tried Jedi mind tricks 4.1.2 and I keep getting "Error: REG09 "Missing 911 Address"
If you know of anyone that has gotten Wi-Fi calling to work on a skyrocket can you send me a link to the thread?

Just curious did you flash a stock T989 ROM onto your skyrocket? any issues? did you use odin?
Also LTE should work with any of the skyrocket modems by default as long as the APNs are correct. There are threads and info on this in the skyrocket forums.
Yeah I flashed a few stock roms on it without Odin, using twrp and infamous wipe/superwipe and without infamous. Although when I did it without the infamous zips about 20% of the time on reboot it would hang on start up which was fine I just reboot and it was good to go. Noticed it hasn't done it since I reflashed with infamous though.
Lte did work just no hspa which is all I get in my town. So I put the stock uvmc6 radio in since 4g sits around 2-7mbs over here and that's more than enough. Heard you can get 2g,4g,lte with some blaze radio's but never cared to try. Only glitch I'd can't find a fix on JB for the screen rotation. It's all wacked out.

Oh most defiantly. There sister phones. But I've tried flashing I'd say about 4 or 5 different ones and no dice. I put an ics stock Rom and flashed a fix, worked fine. my brother which who I gave it to would rather live with vertical movies and sideways camera on JB than go with ics. Haha but if you know of one that works on Jb can you share the link?

[Q] No LTE access

it was working fine until yesterday and all of a sudden it wont give me LTE access. The access point was off but I turned it on and it still wont connect to LTE. I rooted and even flashed a stock radio. Nothing. Help?
Need more info.
You still get 3g?
Can you make and receive calls? Send texts?
What ROM?
... all radios are "stock". Just depends on what version you're running.

I do get 3g, some calls do not come in and some texts do not go out. And I used this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709 (section 5)
to revert my sgs3 back to factory settings and touchwiz. I had cyanogenmod nightly running before and it was then that it stopped working.
Have you tried to turn the radio off and then back on?
That's always been a reliable solution for me when I've run into similar problems in the past..
Sent from my 16GB Blue Verizon Galaxy S3 running MIUI v5 with KT kernel
I am having a similar problem to you. I flashed a CM nightly build for my S3 and am unable to make calls/send texts. LTE works, but only sort of. I was told to try these steps suggested by SlimSnoopOS, but none of them worked for me. I'd recommend getting a log viewer/ logcat application. I am going to do that later to see about my issue.
I was on CM 10.2 nightlies and lost LTE. Reset my phone and everything. Turned out CM screwed up my SIM card and I got a new one. After I powered on my phone with the new SIM, good to go.
