Q) skyrocket running stock t989 - General Questions and Answers

Can anyone confirm getting there at&t skyrocket to make calls threw T-Mobile's Wi-Fi calling feature running a stock Hercules Rom on the T-Mobile network of coarse. Tried Jedi mind tricks 4.1.2 and I keep getting "Error: REG09 "Missing 911 Address"
If you know of anyone that has gotten Wi-Fi calling to work on a skyrocket can you send me a link to the thread?

Confirmed it does work took the SIM out if my other T-Mobile phone put it in and vice versa same error in my t989 must be the SIM? Quite odd.

Just curious did you flash a stock T989 ROM onto your skyrocket? any issues? did you use odin?
Also LTE should work with any of the skyrocket modems by default as long as the APNs are correct. There are threads and info on this in the skyrocket forums.

Yeah I flashed a few stock roms on it without Odin, using twrp and infamous wipe/superwipe and without infamous. Although when I did it without the infamous zips about 20% of the time on reboot it would hang on start up which was fine I just reboot and it was good to go. Noticed it hasn't done it since I reflashed with infamous though.
Lte did work just no hspa which is all I get in my town. So I put the stock uvmc6 radio in since 4g sits around 2-7mbs over here and that's more than enough. Heard you can get 2g,4g,lte with some blaze radio's but never cared to try. Only glitch I'd can't find a fix on JB for the screen rotation. It's all wacked out.

Oh most defiantly. There sister phones. But I've tried flashing I'd say about 4 or 5 different ones and no dice. I put an ics stock Rom and flashed a fix, worked fine. my brother which who I gave it to would rather live with vertical movies and sideways camera on JB than go with ics. Haha but if you know of one that works on Jb can you share the link?

as far as I know after you flash or odin a t989 ROM you need to flash a skyrocket kernel after. That worked when I flashed t989 Jedi rom. hit thanks if this helped

Careful here!
I was prepping a ROM based on this dump, and forgot to take out the boot.img BIG MISTAKE!
Needless to say, my capacitive buttons are all borked up and I'll be headed back to AT&T this week... On the bright side, NTT Docamo didn't do anything screwy with the 4g icon, so it correctly displays H+/3G! As soon as I get my phone fixed / replaced I'll be able to finish what I started.

Unfortunately, I didn't get that far... hoping that the localization options are more than the Rogers ROMS offer. I'm trying to put together a stock ROM w/ REAL network indication, EN-US localization, tethering, screen off, reboot menu, stock boot animation. Nothing too fancy. Pretty sure this will be a good base. Will pick back up when I get my RMA!

Sprint's been doing something to the tower closest to my house and I've been permaroamig at my house going on 3 weeks now. Sprint told me it might be a while before they fix the problem. I've been missing calls and they only go through when I force my phone to roam. It sucks because it only happens at my house. lol its happening to my dad's completelt stock shift too so I know its not an issue with my phone. Both of our phones work fine as soon as we switch towers.

Before updating your radios do this:
1) Update profile, reboot phone.
2) Update PRL, reboot phone.
3) If you are not using cellular radio 1.08.01.0111 here is the link:

If your talking about the ones on THIS thread. There is a video in the OP on how to. But if you don't have time, or don't want watch ( although I would suggest you do ) , there are written instructions in the OP. It's always a good idea to read the OP a least once, just in case.

No 4G & Spotty 3G on CM10

Hi All,
I'm having issues with my 4G on the latest nightly of CM10. It's giving me no connection to the 4G network and when it says it's connected to 3G it's still greyed out so I have no data network available to me! Since I wiped the cache's to upgrade from the 8/20 nightly do I have to do any network calibration? Should I try flashing one of the other radios here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788313 ?
Thanks
I've seen this a lot on AOSP ROMS and unfortunately CM doesn't get a free pass. I'm sure it'll get better as development continues. Maybe try out a 4.0.4 based ROM. (Synergy)

[Q] radio not working right

I just recently purchased a galaxy s3 from Verizon and it was working flawlessly until i flashed build 2 of aokp. Before that i had been using the cm10 nightlies and synergy ROM and both had worked no problem even after flashing the latest radio. I had no signal and the roaming R above the signal bars so i figured leaving the phone off all night would fix the problem. i woke up the next morning with 4g signal and 3 bars but i could not send or receive call/texts. I called tech support at Verizon but to avail. so I am now sending it back to get a new one. This same thing happened on my galaxy nexus but i had no warranty so I as just out of luck. Can someone please explain how this keeps happening???

I had the same experience when I did the Big Part modification and installed Omni. No radio. I tried all of the other ROMs for Big Part and only got a signal with EOS 4. With EOS 4 I only had 3G, no LTE. I have been reading about this like crazy, and have seen where people have stated that the custom ROMs made not have the radio built in, but I haven't been able to find out how to add it back or correct my situation. I have seen that other people have stated that they DO have data service after installing Big Part ROMs, so there has to be something we're missing here.
Sorry I don't have a solution. I'm hoping someone with some knowledge on the subject will chime in.

I have continued to look into this, and I just discovered my Xoom is not showing an IMEI number. It is all zeros. You should check and see if you have the same issue. I'm doing research now on how can get the numbers back.

Well, I am a little glad that I am not the only one who ran into this issue. I haven't come up with a solution yet, but I did switch back to EOS4 and I have 3G. It's a little slow, but it's better than nothing. I am going to do some more research on this tonight. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.

I have continued to seek out the cause of and solution to this problem. Answers from the XDA forums and the internet in general are all over the place as to the cause, but it seems that flashing back to stock is the solution that almost everyone has found success with.
We're in a bind because you can't flash a stock image back onto the BigPart partitioned Xoom. I haven't seen a method to change the Xoom back to it's stock partitions just yet soo... I'm at a loss as to what can be done as of this moment. As soon as someone in the know posts a method to restore the stock partitions I'll flash back to stock and see what happens.

I thought you might be interested. This is apparently what needs to be done to get the stock partitions back on the Xoom. Basically just going through the BigPart procedure again, but replacing the BigPart recovery with the regular one. Some time over the weekend I will probably give it a shot. I have been using my Xoom with EOS and 3G service (not very good 3G service) for a week or so now, but I would really like to get my 4G LTE back. Looks like a lot of Stingray users are having data issues with BigPart roms.
