im looking for this android png. can anyone help me out. I cant stand the grey blank guy for the incoming calls. thanks for any help.
I believe that would be ic_contact_picture.
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
cant remember where i saw that, gonna drive me crazy. was it in one of the kangerade themes?
i think maybe the ic picture unkown in phone on kangerade blue and others has something like those, well drawn pics.
maybe try them?
Yup there's actually 4 incall/call images in phone/res/drawable-hdpi or hdpi-finger.
guess i misunderstood his question. i thought he wanted to know where that specific design png is, not the location of any png that goes there; but that specific picture from whatever theme....as it is a fancier looking one then most themes come with.
Oooh maybe he was I misread...you can get that image from an hatch phone apk also....

Im pretty sure thays the one used in DarkSlide.... could be wrong tho.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I found these three from here, but they're not waving. Do you know what kind of phone that shot was taken on?
Also, they're not from DarkSlide, unless there's another spot that these icons would be stored (other than framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi).
Looks like an htc sense phone. That was on my eris and I believe the evo has it too. Just dl a sense rom from the evo forum and grab it from there

Thanks for the help everyone! I appreciate the feedback.
Here ya go!
(It's from the incredible btw)
Make 2 copies of this picture and name one ic_pane_unknown_caller and the other picture_unknown and drop them into /res/drawable-hdpi of BlurPhone.apk and you should be good to go after flashing.
Explodee,
thank you! i looked through 4 or 5 Incredible ROMS and could not find it. you're awesome! thank you again!
Ah, very nice. What was it from?
Pretty sure its from the stock rom actually. I forget where I got it but my roommate who has an incredible (and refuses to let me hack it) is where I remembered it from. And I use it cuz I hate that gray guy too.

So I want to make an app but have NO experience...are there any tutorials? I want to make simple and advanced apps(maybe for some extra cash? Lol) any help?

Why don't you go to the official android developers page?
Xda app
Not everyone knows how to find the pages they need. Perhaps provide a link? I assume he hasn't come across that yet since he's asking.

Programming is always hard. I suggest starting with a simple app that has 3 screens and a couple of buttons for interaction and maybe some images.

Do you have any suggestions for staring apps for this

First of all, do you know how to write in Java? Because none of the tutorials I have found include that part. You will find it very hard if you don't! Pick up a book on Java, and read all the way through it first. I found books better than online for some reason. It doesn't matter if the book is a few years old, many of the concepts will be the same.
Then find some beginning tutorials for developing Android apps. I've found a few, and I will update this if I find any more, but here are some:
http://hackaday.com/2010/07/12/android-development-101-–-a-tutorial-series/
http://www.vogella.de/articles/Android/article.html
http://androidwizard.net/ -- Make sure you have a look at the beginner ones first, because there are many tutorials here.
Then if you require more detail, move on to the info at developer.android.com/ as it is more advanced (well its aimed at users who already know a bit).
I would also learn just some basics on how a program flows. It is essential since most programmers know several languages or are able to know how to read code without knowing the syntax. After you get the basics down, look through all the examples given with the SDK and see if you understand it. Hope that helps. Good luck!

I read "Sams Teach Yourself Android Application Development in 24 Hours". It was pretty cheap and they also have a java one. It was a nice start, pretty good explanation of code and space out each part so not overwhelmed.

Should I read the java one first? And where would I get this book? Im just wanting to learn this.
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
I only read the android one. I would say read the android one and if you are lost after the second or third chapter, read it again (they are short) and if still not understanding then get the java one. It all depends on you're background and current knowledge...also remember Google is you're friend for words/statements that you don't recognize. Hope that helps, and.you can get book at barnes and noble or borders. It seems to be a common book.

Thank you I will look into getting that book

Anything you don't understand you can just ask questions about and and we all can try to explain it in better terms for you.

I've tried a bit of searching and while there are a few threads about how to disable phone features, there is no discussion of anyone making a specific ROM that would that would focus the Captivate (or any Galaxy S I suppose) into a Media Player device. No idea how hard that would be and whether it would be as easy as taking an existing ROM and just rearranging and deleting the phone stuff.
Seems that with ICS being designed to work as both a Tablet and Phone OS, you could accomplish this with relative ease. I'm not a coder or ROM developer though, so I could be completely wrong on that too.
At the very least, the battery life would almost certainly increase if the phone never even tried to use the antenna or look for cell service. Seems like it might run smoother too and processing emphasis could be rearranged.
Any thoughts?
Here ya go... Captivate Touch

Oh wow thanks I didn't know such ROM exists.
Sweet...should have thought of that wording...tried a bunch. I'll have to check that out.
Thanks for the link.

Hi evebody
I just got my tab 2 10.1 today and one of the reasons I moved from my old tablet with honeycomb is the spellchecking option, the one that underline the wrong ones, but is not here!!!, after reading some post about it, there should be a spelling correction option in languages and inputs but there isn't, any idea what may be wrong here?
I REALLY meet it hehe
Thank in advance
Cheers!!
Tab 2 10.1 Spell Checker
Page 184 of the GT-P5113 user manual has the answer to your question....
Thanks mate, but that page just talk about the predictive text, which is the same as honeycomb Android. And like I said in my original post I'm looking for how to turn on the new "fancy" spellcheck system, just like office, which underlines all the wrong spelled words in a document.
Anybody????
Thanks
I would think that spell checking would be contingent on your word processing program. I'm hoping that you weren't expecting the tablet to spell check everything that it comes across.
Sent from my GT-P3113 using Tapatalk 2
Well supposedly ICS has a built in spell checker, you can see it the following link, just like in many others.
http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-4318?noredirect=true
And yes it's supposed to spell check in multiple applications
No body here is using it????
Cheers!
That is the stock ics (Google aosp) keyboard. Samsung has their own, and even my phone, has HTC trace as it's stock keyboard.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G with Beats Audio using Tapatalk 2
And does your HTC trace keyboard underline the wrong spelled words??
The Samsung keyboard doesn't
And do you have ics too?
Thanks
PD just another post about what I'm talking about
http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...lt-spell-check-android-word-processors-2.html
I actually finally ran into the red underlined spell check.. I was on the Nike store, and filling out my billing info of all places.. Unfortunately, I it was with my phone (ics).. I'll check with my tablet.
Sent from my GT-P3113 using Tapatalk 2
Don't worry. I know exactly what you mean, i had the feature on my Samsung vibrant running cm9. Now i use an HTC one s, which has ics/sense 4.0 with the HTC trace keyboard, but it still has the same feature. That feature is implemented into ics and operates independently from the keyboard. It seems though, that sammy took it out. It's not the only ics feature they took out, so them taking this one out doesn't come to a surprise. Either aosp based rom or sammy update is your only hope, just don't hold your breath on the latter.

no I've had spelling correction while filling out fields on the tablet. Click on a word when you are typing.

so, really? the only solution is to install a new rom? This mean root the tablet right?
Cheers!!
Anybody? ?
You can use my guide (link in my signature).
I'm wondering if there is some type of reference that simplifies all the things that these kernel devs talk about.
Like all the OC/UV ZRAM etc. like what is all of this.
I know I need to learn this stuff cause this phone should not have me waiting to switch apps or for the screen to rotate. I don't want memories of my HD2.
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
Go into Android Development and look for Elemental kernel. The dev did a great job of explaining each aspect of a kernel. Most of your questions and then some will be answered. First page of his thread is the location of the info.

Thanks for the tip but I can't help but assume that the details the dev Included were kinda geared toward people who have more knowledge about this than I do

You need to keep in mind that many of the things you're requesting to learn are all very much general. It becomes subjective when you start building your phones settings with the kernel of your choice. Sometimes a souped up kernel isn't the answer. Sometimes changing settings backfires with poorer performance and worse battery life. You need to experiment as not all phones (even though we have One Xs) aren't built 100% equally.
I truly recommend flashing one and starting out slow. When you change things, remember what the default values are and increment minimally. Overclocking is great but beware it can be unstable, just like underclocking. Also, the same goes for voltage. I personally leave it default. Always have. On Viper3.1 and Elemental kernel (currently 2.1), I've had massive success with battery life. Not all roms are the same though.
Again, I would search around more, get more opinions but realistically, just try for yourself. Don't get too extreme with settings and you WILL be fine.
