Need Opinion on return device. - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

So I just received my Tab 7.0 Plus from Amazon and it has one small dead pixel. Super small but its there. Should I return it? Its on the right bottom corner and of course only noticeable in dark colors. I'm tempted to exchange it just for that little pixel.

I would return it but ask if they have a policy on it. Some companies put a definitive number of "acceptable" dead pixels (depending on screen size) before it warrants an exchange.
The only standard I know of for sure is Apple because their "acceptable" number is zero(0), as in there should not be a single dead pixel regardless. Amazon probably would accept it though, worth a shot.

have you tried those apps that try to help fix stuck pixels? on my nexus one i thought i had a couple dead pixels but apparently were only stuck pixels. some app i used did some flashing of different colors and the stuck pixels never showed up again.

One thing I like about Amazon's exchange policy is that they'll immediately send you another tablet while you keep the other. Once you receive the new one, all you have to do is send back the defective one. They don't seem to ask questions about it. I totally bricked my tablet when I rooted it and they took it back.

cool.. Suck that Amazon won't have it on stock for 3-5 weeks per their site. I asked wifey and she said it doesnt bothered her and wouldnt even noticed it if I didn't say anything. It was for her so she'll keep it. But If i noticed amazon brings it back in stock soon, I might just exchange.

Dead Pixels are not a good thing
This ISN'T my Transformer Prime

My story with dead pixel shortly.
I bought my GT6200, same night the battery got empty and the tablet start shutting down and at black screen I saw a dead pixel. Next day I was in the market and all I sed was: "There is dead pixel". No one even wanted to see it. The guy sad: "Ooo, it`s normal for Samsung" and gave me another one brand new. I was like this because this behaviour and returning policy is not normal in my country.

[Q] Pixel Issues

I have had my A700 for a few days now and tested the display for backlight bleed (only a tiny bit on the bottom in landscape mode) and dead pixels. Unfortunately I have cluster of two dead pixels on the top/middle and one dead pixel on the left/middle. I have run a couple pixel fix apps but to no avail. Anyone else notice any pixel issues with the A700?
I don't on mine, sadly, it's a fact of life on all brands and across all types of tech that have LCD's, they are allowed a certain number of dead and/or stuck pixels per whatever number of LCD's produced, how many varies from company to company. Where did you get it from? If you're within your return period, I would just exchange it.
I got it from Amazon and am considering exchanging but wanted to know if others had similar pixel issues. Mine seems to run well otherwise so kind of reluctant to exchange if I may get one that runs hotter.

That's where I got mine too, they have a 30 day return window so you have a few days to think about it. Another think I like about Amazon, their return window doesn't seem to start until the day it gets to you, not when you order or pre order it.
No pixel issues on mine. Display Tester was one of the first apps I ran, just to make sure.
i had one dead pixel on the middle

Dirt in screen Verizon galaxy s3

Alright so I got my gs3 today and I recently noticed that there is a piece of dust near the top of the display. I know it is dust because it is still visible with the screen off. I'm not really bothered by it considering it's about the size of a pixel. Do you recommend I attempt to exchange it, or just live with it. It's in the notification bar and is almost never visible and I didn't notice it the first time I checked it for dead pixels.

If it doesn't bother you I would just keep it. It is a major hassle switching out phones and the stores will generally fight you tooth and nail to keep from allowing the exchange unless the phone is really defective. Good luck!

To be honest I have more crap stuck in between my screen protector and the Glass. It's hardly noticeable so I'm not really worried. I know if I go into a vzw store they will be difficult. Even if I get a new one it could have a dead pixel smack dab in the center. Still an awesome phone.
It was a huge pain getting my Galaxy S3 replaced at a Verizon store for a legitimate problem- I had a dead pixel. The employee helping me refused to replace it, until finally the manager came and looked at it, deeming it a legitimate problem and allowed me a swap for a new device.
So if it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it.
I had my first GS3 replaced by T-Mobile. Right after I called they sent a brand new one overnight at no cost to me. Sent first phone back with the included return shipping label. Everything was easy as pie.

I am in Canada but I imagine it still works the same. I never go into the store to deal with problems like that. Call them up (not the individual store). The people on the other end are used to dealing with that all day and have the policy down pat. I would believe they would resolve the issue immediately and send a replacement. At the minimum you will be opening a ticket (file) about the issue. An remember polite and firm, if the original person you are dealing with cannot resolve to your satisfaction request talking to a manager. They have more latitude when dealing with issues.
An I am sorry it's brand new. You are entitled to have it in perfect working condition including not having trapped dust. Give them a call.
P.S. An yes you are bothered by it, or you would of never taken the time to Create your OP. An I would be bothered by it as well.
Good luck.
I'm debating because right now I am bothered by it, but I know in a little while I really won't care. I'll see if I can get it replaced, but if I can't it won't be the end of the world.

Ha Ha, well I got two new ones. the second one had a dead pixel right in the middle.
Dirt Or Dead Pixel Under Screen
I just went through this myself, I bought a new S3 from Future Shop, it was great for the first 7 days then I just happened to have a grey wallpaper up and I noticed faint black lines almost in the middle of the screen and they ran from the top to the bottom, and as I scrolled the wallpaper back and forth they were very noticeable, I myself am the type of guy that now that I know its there it drives me crazy, I ended up taking it into the store and the sales rep looked at it and pulled another out to compare, he sat there for 10 minutes comparing it and finally told me the new one has the same lines but refused to show me it. So I took my phone and left. After I get home just before bed I noticed a black dot near the top, I tried wiping it off for I thought it was dust but it did not move, I could not figure out what it was, I thought dust but how did it get there in a matter of a few hours when I don't put my phone anywhere that it could cause dust to get into the screen like that, I ended up shinning a light on it with the screen off and it was not there so it was a pixel issue, I ended up going back to the store this morning where I had to argue and complain for 20 minutes before they finally exchanged it as they tried telling me it was dust behind the screen, anyway the new one is perfect. There should be no issue when you want to return or exchange your phone especially when you just shelled out $600 to buy it. But I suppose with the mass production of these phones there is bound to be issues with some.

Probably stuck or dead pixel

Hi guys, yesterday i recieved my OPO and i noticed that there is a little dark point ( watchable only on white screen) which probably is a stuck or dead pixel. The point is very very little and amost unwatchable during normal use , but i m very finicky......what can i do? Is possible to obtain a replacement of the phone for only one pixel? Thanks for your suggestions!!!
Only OnePlus can answer that question, there's no point asking here because nobody here is an employee of OnePlus. If it is defective though, they should cover it under warranty.

But no one bere with a similar situation? Just no know if there is a possibility to obtain the change. I have already opened a ticket on OPO official site, but no reply at now.
Basic warranty policy states that if a device is defective out of the factory you are entitled to a replacement.

I have a dead pixel too - but honestly - is it worth making such a big deal out of it?! Why don't you just live with it and save you all the trouble? It's not worth it in my opinion - what if you get another device with a yellow band in exchange? That would be worse wouldn't it? There are bigger problems than just one dead pixel - if it were green all the time that would be much worse.

ugh I have the same situation with my new oneplus one, this didnt happen on my old one but there is a dead/stuck pixel near the top that is green usuallly very hard to notice but sticks out like a sore thumb on black backgrounds. i am just going to deal with it unless it gets much worse is there any way to fix it short of replacing the hardware?
my co-worker has 1 stuck pixel, like you, its only visible on a white background. OPO's defective policy is only for 3 pixels or more. he ended up selling it on craigslist for the price he bought it at.
I have the exact same issue and feel the same way, though I haven't bothered with a ticket yet because I feel lucky to even have one given the extremely short supply. They haven't made a specific statement on dead pixels in the FAQs, but here are a couple close ones:
What is your warranty & return policy?http://oneplus.net/support/answer/what-is-your-warranty-return-policy
What should I do if I receive a defective product?http://oneplus.net/support/answer/what-should-i-do-if-i-received-a-defective-product
Other than that, thishttps://forums.oneplus.net/threads/dead-pixel.68381/#post-3362283 is about the most useful statement I could find from any admin on the topic. >.<
You can also do like I might and wait for your shared invites to come in, use one to buy a new phone, then sell your current one on eBay or something. Just be sure to be honest about any issues with it. Given the low supply you'd probably still get darn close to retail for it.

Stuck pixel here
Though I bought the phone nearly two months back, got it only today from a friend travelling from the US as my country is unsupported yet for shipping.
I discovered a white stuck pixel that stays on in any damn screen when the phone is on.
Pete Lau was drumbeating so much about being very strict with quality, but if so many people are complaining about the screen, this is not good.
Depending on whether the pixel is actually dead (meaning it either gets no power or shortened) or stuck (crystal can't rotate) you may be able to revive it. There are applications for that purpose in the Play store that very quickly toggle through several colors in the hope of jiggling the pixel free - leave it running for a few hours and check if the screen is fixed.

Hello! Yes!
I have a stuck pixel at my opo. I can just give you one advise. Don't change it. Just don't care about those pixels and more important: Don't search dead pixels. I wad also like you, and so i ordered 3x htc one x, 3x galaxy s3 and all of them had dead pixels or stuck pixels. Also my galaxy s4 had one, and my lg g2! So every ****in phone has them. It's like a big joke and you need very good luck to get one without.
So now i have my opo, and also have 1 stuck pixel. But you know what, i don't care. You have to learn this.
Otherwise you'll be going crazy. Just be happy with your phone. In some time you will get another phone anyway.
So pfff.

Yup! Stuck pixel here, it appeared after having the device for less than a day, it's 1 red pixel, so it's not visible on white background. But dark background its right in my face.
I had a little cluster of white pixels on my m7, never really bothered by it.
The way oneplus handle this, I don't think I'll even bother to try to get a replacement device. Well, that's the price we pay for buying from cheap Chinese manufacturer.

You do know that "3+ dead/stuck pixels" is what major brands also require for replacement?

Lower half of screen has red tint - replace?

So I noticed today that the lower half of my display has a red tint, and now I can't stop noticing it. It's apparent in both night light and regular display modes. Do you think this is something they will send a replacement for?
It's very noticeable in apps using dark theme like XDA, reddit is fun, and imgur.

use that premium 24/7 support and report back how it was handled. we're all curious how it goes...
On first attempt, I used the chat function. They kept asking for a screenshot showing the red tint, but a screenshot doesn't work like that. Then after 45 min, I was told that this is taking too long and that I would get an email. I asked about a warranty replacement, and was told that is an option if this doesn't resolve.
I just want a warranty replacement...
I'll just call the Google Store during their business hours, obviously the 24/7 support and the Google Store are two different things.
Keep us posted.
I'll be calling the Google store first thing tomorrow, but in the mean time here is a picture of the issue. It's much more apparent in real life, but you can see the right side of the screen is darker than the left.
Just a quick update, they are sending me a replacement device. Hopefully the replacement doesn't have issues!
Good call. Yea that looks pretty bad, I would have returned it in a heartbeat.
Let us know how the replacement is. I have a XL and the top half has a pinkish hue. I'm debating if I should exchange it or not. I have noticed it on every device I've ever had with Amoled to a certain extent or another. It's for sure not as bad as other devices I've had. I'm debating getting it replaced. I'm just worried if I do the next one will have it worse, or a different issue that's worse. But for the amount of $ we paid for the phone it should be perfect IMO. I'll tolerate it on a $400 device.. not a close to $1000 device ($946 to be exact with tax)
Dunno. Ide exchange. I have had perfect amoleds on my note 5 and 7. Its possible to get a near perfect one.

I have the exact same thin on my Pixel 5 inch. Could it be the adhesive for the screen/digitizer needing time to cure? I read that in several places with some older phones and iphones. I might give mine some time and then send it back if it doesn't settle... Is anyone else having this issue? Or can anyone else confirm if their screens are perfectly uniform using a white screen?
Just went to a Verizon store and noticed the display models don't have this issue, I'm planning to get mine replaced...
Is there more than one factory making pixels? Or are they all made in the same place?
I know with the samsung line i had alot of issues with screens made in Vietnam, but all the phones made in China i had were perfect.

I received the replacement and it does not have the same problem, it has a uniform tint throughout the display. Now to see if they accept the warranty exchange or tell me that it falls within "acceptable ranges" and charge me for the replacement... I doubt they will reject it, but hey, it wouldn't be a possibility if they didn't put that in the warranty exchange terms

I wouldn't worry about getting charged... there were a LOT of 6Ps that got exchanged for the same defect and I never heard of anyone getting charged. I went through 4 Nexus 6Ps before giving up on the lotto and getting a 5X. The issue seems way less prevalent this time around, but OF COURSE my Pixel has an uneven screen. Its not as bad as any of the 6Ps I had, but I've had my Pixel since Monday and I just can't live with it. I ordered my replacement yesterday. So far, everyone that has gotten a replacement between here and the XL forum they have been defect free! Fingers crossed.

I also sucessfully got my Pixel replaced due to the right 1/3 of the screen being darker and pink tinted. One question though: for those who got replacements, did you send back the accessories (cables, charger) or keep them?
I'd love to have an extra charger...

General First replacement since Nexus 6P

Yesterday I was doing some work around the house, pulled my phone out of my pocket to change YouTube videos or something. Noticed a black spot, dead pixels. I thought the other day that I saw a ghostish blur on the bottom left of the phone, the dead pixels are in the middle left of the phone. Have a warranty replacement coming. Coming it's the first phone replacement I've had to have since my eight or nine Nexus 6Ps under warranty.
My mind to maybe sell it and try something else, like the one plus 11, but man. Idk. . anyone else have similar screen quality issues? Maybe? I've just been lucky up to this point.

No issues here. Haven't read all the threads, but if it were a common fault i think it would be reported here (and noticable). Just bad luck with a dodgy screen... maybe.

OnePlus 11 might not be a better choice. I had one for just over a month when suddenly an entire row of pixels just went bright white for no reason (see attached). Guess any manufacturer can deliver a bad screen every once in a while.
congrats on the long life of the nexus 6p bro.
I gave mine up when they offered the pixel xl as a free replacement....the pixel xl sucked
