[FIX][ Sprint VVM ] - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

Hey guys
This should fix the Sprint visual voice mail on some roms.
Zip files below are
Sprint VVM Fix.rar
Are the files you need to merge with your rom and do a fresh flash.
update.zip
This will should work ( if you can reprovision your phone. )
For sense roms after you install the update via recovery and reboot,
you need to dial ##786# go to menu/reset and enter your MSL number.
Non sense roms you may need to call sprint and have them reprovision
Your phone. Remember this still may not work with your particular Rom !
oh yea, the little counter still doesnt show over the widget
on how many voice mails are un heard, working on that!
show some love and hit the thanks button.

Dude, totally works on MIUI

Sprint VVM has always worked on MIUI.. just have a titanium backup of Voicemail with at least one stored message on it and back it up. Then restore on your fresh MIUI install.. Go into phone settings and change your voicemail number from *86 to your actual phone number.. done..

does it work with boostmobile too?

Why/how did this thread just get moved from the Themes and Apps subforum to Dev forum?
Not hatin. Just dont understand why it moved.

It was, until about 2 months ago. Then it would provision, maybe work for a day (This is by flashing it in GAPPS) then stop working.
This method seems to work fine right from first Boot after flashing the ROM

Tried every fix to get visual voicemail to work on my MIUI ROM but get the 'Unable to play message' error every time. I want to give this fix a try but need to know how would I go about merging these files into the ROM? Any help I'd greatly appreciate

I have the files broken down as to where they would go inside the Rom,
Open up your rom up with either 7zip, or winrar, navigate to the \system\bin folder
open up the zip file I posted the same way, and drag the 3 files from inside the bin folder to inside your roms bin folder,
now do the same with the file inside system\app folder, move that file inside your roms system\app folder,
say yes to any prompts of do you want to add these files to the zip, that may pop up!
Also remove any older versions of Sprints VVM that may be in your rom
Close off 7zip, or winrar, and re flash your rom.
After your phone starts up for the first time, go in to apps and light it up for the first time,
it will set its self up, and you should be able to view micsausages after that!
I'm having this moved over to themes and software side of the forum.

Well I'm glad it was here for a while, since I rarely go to the themes section

I appreciate you taking the time to give me a step-by-step guide to get this working. I'm an owner of a Mac so will see if using the built in zip/unzip feature will work. Also I have everything else working perfectly and don't know if I want to reflash the ROM to have to setup everything again. Was anyone able to make this fix a flashable file yet by any chance?

I posted a flashable zip file on the op
but you will need to reprovision your phone for this to work,
once you flash via recovery and reboot, you would need to dial ##786# menu/reset and enter your MSL number.

I've been on sense so long it flew right past me,
He has 2 choices, I think he can call Sprint and have
Them reprovision his phone.
or flash over, and either way isn't a for sure that vvm will
Work with the Rom his using.
Hipcat arent you using miui, I though I read in a previous post, did vvm work for you
I flashed one of the builds about a year ago, but only used it a few days.

Yes HipKat, how'd you get this fix to work on MIUI? (Oh btw lionedas I'm a she )

I'm running EnergyROM 2/6/2012.
I tried every fix in that thread and this one to get Sprint VVM working and nothing worked. It has something to do with VVM setting itself up when the phone hasn't been provisioned correctly or something related to that. Steps #6 and #7 below are not possible in EnergyROM that I can tell.
This is what I did (took ~15 minutes, after 2 days of f*&^ing with it):
1) nandroid everything on my phone.
2) Boot into recovery
3) Flash FreshROM -- this has a baseline working VVM.
4) Boot clean, setup, but DO NOT launch VVM
5) Settings... Update PRL
6) Settings... System Update
7) Launch VVM and verify it works.
8) Do not update VVM
9) Do a complete Titanium backup of VVM (w/data)
10) Boot into recovery
11) Restore everything from nandroid in step #1
12) Reboot normally
13) Use Titanium to COMPLETELY delete VVM (w/data)
14) Use Titanium to restore VVM backup (w/data) from step #9
Ben

I should add... the above fixed VVM for me.

Has anyone tried this yet, not sure if it will work but its woth a try.
its my vvm backup but with my info removed, you might be able to just add your info to the file and then do the backup.
Someone give this a try.
with the titanium backup I posted below edit it for your info,
use open archive from in 7zip. find com.coremobility.app.vnotes-20111231-152250.tar.gz
navigate to data\data\com.coremobility.app.vnotes\shared_pref
take out just cmconfigstring.xml and edit it
edit all the parts I removed with my info, and replace them with your info,
parts to look for in cmconfigstring.xml that I removed are
>username only, No @sprintpcs.com<
>your 10 digit #<
>[email protected]<
>10 digit MSID<
there are like 5 or maybe 6 places to look for
do not leave spaces, and or dashes inside it should look like this >6165551212< and >username01< and >[email protected]<
save file and place back in, say yes to 7zip saving,
place the entire titanium folder on your sd card, and do a backup of voicemail app, install the Sprint vvm 5.1.60 from below, and before you start it try and do a backup of data only.
please post any results.

I did the first step. Copied the files to the ROM before I flashed it, then when I got booted, opened VVM, it checked account successfully then sent myself a msg and it came right through

[Q] nexus s 4g, cant install update from sd because it doesnt have an SD

So, There is a telemarketing company thats offering the Nexus S 4g from sprint for $49.99 a month and you only pay $100 for the phone. you get unlimited everything.
the thing is that every cellphone they give you comes with a pre-installed app called "RawData" which records all your calls, texts, data usage. they basically stalk your phone.
For some nasty reason the app to make calls, is pre-installed with raw data so when you dial a number, it sends the call to "RawData's" servers and forwards it to the number. I found out about this when I rooted the nexus and uninstalled "rawdata" but then my no so smart mind said "WELL HEY, WHAT IF I UNINSTALL THE TALK APP?" well i did, sadly it wont even call 911, when you press dial it says the app crashed.
I tried giving it a factory reset, and it turned on, and when it comes to the setup where it tells me to "touch the android to begin".
i press it and it seems to look highlighted when i press it, but it doesnt pass from there... so i was trying to install the stock rom from clockwork recovery, but it seems that the nexus doesnt have a memory card slot, and when i press install update from sd, it says "error, directory not found" or something like that...
is there another way i can install the Stock rom? oh by the way, i was messing with the recovery so i deleted the boot, so it only boots to recovery with luck..
1.how do i change the settings of clockwork to look in the internal memory for the update.zip.
2.have you heard of rawdata before?
3.whats the point of rawdata?
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
did you try to go to mount the /sdcard in CWrecovery?
I did, but i just figured out that my update.zip might not be the right one, it still gives me that error, but i downloaded clockwork recovery 7 and installed it from from the old recovery menu and it successfully insalled and turned on my nexus, but now i still have problems with the dial pad, i try to make a call, i dial the numbers and when i press call the app crashes.. any idea?
sir i think that the rom you got is corrupted try to check the md5sum first before flashing...let me know ok?

Hey I can probably upload the phone app on here for you. Just always make sure to back up your stuff. But if you want you can get it. Navigate to the folder where you download it and then navigate to the system app folder copy and replace. It. But first can you do this for me. Go into rom manager and back up your current rom. Do not delete any. And you might be able to flash back to stock through rom manager. Get like a new rom download a free one and flash that to see if it fixes the phone problem. But first see if you can restore through rom manager. Sorry if this is confusing.
Nexus S 4G using miui.us with matr1x kernal 9.0 and batttweak RC1
...
That would be great if you could upload the Phone app.. I just did the back up, but im having a hard time finding a download to a Stock Rom, so I started downloading a custom rom to see if it makes any difference.

[Q] Supreme Sense Question

Aloha-
I recently purchased the Evo Shift 4g and i have perm rooted and have been able to flash to the supreme sense rom and back to the stock rom successfully. Mahalo for all the information that i was able to gather here to help a newbie like myself!
I had my shift programmed so that it will work with a local carrier here in Hawaii, MobiPCS. I am currently trying out the supreme sense rom now and so far so good. I have a few questions and hopefully, i didn't miss a post that has my answers.
1. I am using one of the cool lockscreens (Weather). How, if possible can i change the actual text, specifically "Sprint" that appears above the clock?
2. I can no longer gain access to EPST. ##3282# no longer works. Is there another code? I already have my MSL#. I am guessing that my first question must get the "Sprint" from data in the phone?
3. Voice Mail notification is the only thing that does not work. It did not function with the stock rom either. The only way i can get a notification is to run an app VoiceMail Notifier. Do i have any another options? I am assuming the sprint voice mail has no bearing on my voice mail service from Mobi. I don't understand if the flag to notify the phone is being changed to inform of a voice mail, why the phone natively does not send a notification. (Yes, the voice mail notifications is All turned on).
Not too sure if its okay to post multiple question in a single post, if not, i apologize!
Mahalo (thank you) for taking the time to help me!
Well, I can steer you in the right direction for question #1. Check out this post by one_love_420. I can't help you on #2 and #3 though. Sorry.
for number 3 would google voice help in anyway to help get notified when you get a voicemail?
To solve your EPST problem download this APK HERE
then it should work
BTW:Credit to Strapped365 for the link (which COULD be found in his second post on the Supreme Sense thread. .)
and if i knew who originally posted the EPST.apk a LONG time ago id five them credit here

Well bubbaearl steered you in the right direction for the first answer. Later on in that same thread there is a flashable posted up.
!!! MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU FLASH ANY MODS TO WIPE CACHE AND DALVIK BEFORE YOU FLASH !!!
HERE is the exact post.
As for the ESPT issue THIS should take care of it.
Your Voice mail should be working regardless of carrier. I would contact your current carrier, and ask them to help resolve the issue. They shuld be able to resolve the issue with you on the phone.
Mahalo to prboy1969, notsointeresting, bubbaearl, & youngcorruptionV2.0 for your help!
I'll ..attemp (lol) to do as suggested by the links provided to deal with question1 and 2.
As for the voicemail issue, the actual voicemail does work fine. its just the notification (visual, sound or vibrate) to let me know that there is a voicemail to be retrieved does not work (both the stock and supreme sense rom) As i mentioned, i am currently using Voicemail Notifier to resolve the issue, but i thought the actual phone would be able to notify me without a 3rd party app.
Unfortunately, google voice does not provide a number here out in the Pacific Ocean! but thanks for the idea...
I'll report back if i'm successful regarding the other stuff.
Again, mahalo for taking the time to help!!!
Did you follow THIS guide before flashing your Rom.
prboy1969-
Yes, i did exactly (3x's) what the guide mentioned except for the skipping of the setup...I couldn't figure out how to get out of the setup so i just cancelled/skipped to the end (hope that was okay).
I also flashed back to my stock rom (to get the magic smoke live wallpaper apk, and to back up with Titanium Backup some apps that i missed the first time), then i followed the instructions again. Both times, the voicemail notification did not work. I had a difficult time installing the Magicsmoke live wallpaper but with some help, i was able to get it going. btw, supreme sense rom so far is pretty cool.
Got the "Sprint" removed and replaced with my text! Thanks for the info and the link. very cool...
As fpr #2, the epst, the update(thank you for the zip) did not address the issue. although i guess i don't really need it since i thought i had to change the info here to resolve my issue #1. Just for my info though, why does it not work anymore? wouldn't you folks want to be able to change settings from there? btw, i did wipe the davlik and cache before installing from sd/zip. (installed from boot recovery)
As this is my FIRST android phone (always had a windows phone) As i am getting more familiar with this rom, installing the apps, etc. any other suggestions?
i did partition my sd 8GB with a 1gb ext3 as i flashed with a2sd. However, i didn't see the app in the drawer, and i wasn't sure if that's right? than i noticed any app shortcut (not sure what you call it, one of the home screens) that i installed on the SD, after reboot, the shortcut had a generic icon, rather than the app icon. (just noticed this). when i move the app back to the phone, then after reboot the icon appear fine!
I know i read many posts stating to follow the guide before flashing, and i did!!
Again, mahalo for your help!

To fix EPST you're going to have to run RUU. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Also I highly recommend using FAT32 for partitioning an sdcard or just letting Clockwork Recovery do its thing.

You can also try THIS for the ESPT. For whatever reason sometimes you have to try a few different ESPT apk's. Also one other thing to consider is, since you flashed to a different carrier ESPT may not be available. Not sure who MobiPCS is asssociated with. But either way, no you don't have to RUU to get ESPT working again . Unless of course you want to start the whole process over.
When you use A2SD you do not have to move the app manually to the SD Card. I take it that's what you did before moving them back to the phone? A2SD takes care of that automatically. Although it appears the app is on the phone it is not. Also you can post up on the Supreme Sense thread with all your questions. We'd be glad to have you post up .

I've had someone had EPST corrupted and the only way to get it back was RUU. Nandroid first of course, run RUU then restore Supreme and it works fine.
Yes, i did format the remaining partition fat32, also set to primary.
As to the ruu, i hope not! However thing to note is after flashing to my the carrier i use MobiPCS, I had already perm rooted my shift and getting into the epst to change things that needed to be changed was done (I purchased the phone used off ebay). So, i'm pretty sure flashing to my new carrier had no impact on being able to use epst. However, upon flashing to supreme, no access.
I will try the other link (thanks prb1969) and see if that resolves the issue. Jus curious but for all the others that have flashed to supreme rom, they also have the same issue regarding EPST? Just to make sure the access code is ##3282#, then call...right?
The a2sd..i am a bit confused. (Supreme rom with a2sd flashed) if i understand the reply, a2sd moves the apps to the sd (i assume the ext3 partition) yet it still appears to be on phone? is that correct? Also, a2sd will not in the app drawer at all? (i couldn't find it)
So, i guess what i did, screwed things up? I installed a2sd, it then reported many apps on the phone, of which i did start to move to SD. (thats when i noticed my shortcut (app) icon issue.
Again, mahalo for your help Vicodan and prb1969. I originally wanted to post my questions...pleas for assistance on the supreme sense thread, but since i am a newbie...I couldn't. From what i understand, not until i reach a certain level?
I'd be happy, well, sort of (realizing i would have go through the setup process again) to start over (revert back to stock rom or reflash the supreme rom) if you all recommend that....
Anyways, i'll try that new link for the EPST. will report back..
Mahalo
thanks for the new link for EPST prb1969, however no change..i did wipe davlik and the cache before updating. No errors encountered during the update.
in the dialer, i input ##3282 but when i add the last #, the numbers disappear.
I'll wait to hear back but i thought i might try to restore back to stock rom and see if ##3282# still works (it did the last time but before i flashed supreme)
If you have a Nand of the stock Rom, Nand back and check to see if ESPT works. As for the posts I believe you need at least 10, before you can post on other threads.

Hey VICODAN just for the record if you RUU back to stock. You can't just restore a Rom afterward . RUU equals no Root .
nand back to stock rom. Yes, EPST worked. copied epst.apk to sd. flashed back to supreme a2sd rom (clean).
will apply lockscreen banner update along with the magic smoke wallpaper..
Can i copy the epst.apk that i got from the stock rom and paste into the /system/app folder?
or do i need to something else first?
and btw, after flashing back to supreme a2sd rom, epst does not work
Don't know if this is the same EPST.apk you've used, this works fine on my phone running SSV8 A2SD with dodge kernel ext4. Hope it works on yours...

Ok I'm back lol ha-ha with a fresh build station, man i don't know why you can't use epst, because all of us SS users can use it fine I'm not to sure about the metro users or not, and this has me stumped because SS is basically just a modded out stock ROM so i dunno but we will all try to do what we can to get you up and running as you see here
Shifted to the extreme, cause I rawk Supreme
Mahalo for the update file rhodiggah. I'll report back to see if it works.
also, can i use the epst.apk file from the stock rom, rename the existing one in the SS Rom, and paste into the /system/app folder?
do i also need the odex file?
btw i was able to get the magic smoke live wallpaper to work by copying the apk file from the stock rom, copying it into the ss rom and correcting the persmissions, and it worked. I didn't copy over the odex file. while it works, i read about what the odex file does, and now i'm wondering if i need this file also. the wallpaper seems to work fine.
Also, an update on a2sd, yes, it does move installed files to the SD card ext3 partition! lol. and i didn't install a newer version. (Since i started over again flashing SS) which begs to ask, what happens when there is an update to a2sd? I"m guessing there is a way to do it?
Again, can't say it enough about how helpful you everyone has been in helping a newbie out!!!

Recover your IMEI without a backup!

I can't really take credit for this, but I just restored my IMEI without a backup of the efs folder. Keep in mind that I actually deleted my efs folder by accident, so I didn't even have the original efs folder.

FYI, this method will restore your phone to stock Gingerbread.
Here is what you do:
1.)
A) Download and unzip the Gingerbread unbrick package here from (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27286083#post27286083):
w/ root - http://d-h.st/ewu
w/o root - http://d-h.st/G6g
B)
Download and unzip the efs zip here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1152914&d=1340558510
2.) Place phone in download mode.
3.) If needed, install latest Samsung USB drivers by installing Samsung Kies from HERE.
4.) Open the included Odin exe.
5.) If phone is detected, the window under ID:COM will turn yellow.
6.) Click on "PIT" to browse to and select infuse_gb.pit. Make sure that Re-Partition is selected.
7.) Click on "PDA" to browse to and select PDA_UCLB3.tar.md5.
8.) Click on "PHONE" to browse to and select PHONE_UCLB3.tar.md5.
9.) Click on "CSC" to browse to the efs.tar
10.) Click the Phone EFS Clear checkbox
11.) Click on "Start", and allow Odin to flash the phone. Do not unplug or power off the phone until Odin is finished.
12.) When the Odin dialogue reads "PASS!", the phone should reboot into the stock UCLB3 Setup Wizard. For me this step just proceeded to install an update and the reboot the phone.
Once the phone reboots, if your SIM card is installed you should be good to go, otherwise you will get an alert about your SIM card which means you need to power off and pop in the SIM card.
Thanks to the original thread author for this one.
It works perfect for me even without the .nv_data file. Before this i only get simbols instead the imei number. You save my phone!
recovered IMEI by just flashing the CM10 base
I dunno if it's just me or what. I lost my IMEI on Slim Bean.. so I had this thought. I hadn't had this issue with the CM10 rom, so I decided to do the standard flashing procedure. Once CM10 was installed my IMEI came back. I had full signal and all is good. I decided to go back to Slim Bean to see if it would fix the IMEI issue. I flashed it just like the OP stated and walah! I had my IMEI back and everything worked without having to go back to GB, ICS and then JB again. I don't know if this will help anyone, but just wanted to note other people about it. Why did this work for me?
will this mess up my phone more?
I am running froyo 2.2.1 ,I guess it is stock, as I pick this phone up in pawn shop, and it was already rooted. I was doing the command line argument dd and a bunch of stuff, to get some file to get my unlock code. I didn't get no bak file copy, gave up put my sim card back in and that's when I noticed my imei was gone, then I had go launcher installed, so my screen goes blank I end up having to do the three finger data wipe, then I see I got no wifi either. Then I get this phone, DL some apk files, try to reinstall busy box, no go, teller me it don't think it has su permission after I gave it through that super user program, then it say it cant install into /dev/sh/ what ever, so all I got is a really nice looking video player.
So now that I got all that out of me.
2 questions, will flashing gingerbread overtop of froyo, will not make it worse?
Why do one have to flash in the first place, why can't one just copy over the old-time files, or someone find which file goods the imei number then just to in isinglass a file manager open that file, as it should be just what is caller a flat file, meaning no special formating like a Word file.
Then just save it. I am not an expert at android wse (whatsoever) but I have played with copying over top of files, or deleting the old-time one then replacing it with a new one. Why Doesn't that work, has anyone player around just opening there files to see what they look like and figure out where they stick the imei number?
Seems to me should be an easy manner of doing, but now that I don't have an individual showing I am not even sure which file I should try to type that number in to to see what will happen as I don't want to make this phone completely useless.
Any commentary, ideas, anything?
Thanks

FYI, this method will restore your phone to stock Gingerbread.
Here is what you do:
1.)
A) Download and unzip the Gingerbread unbrick package here from (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27286083#post27286083):
w/ root - http://d-h.st/ewu

I just wanted to thank all of you who have contributed your brain power to the xda forums. This advise worked great and after a lot of self doubt I now consider myself a semi-noob. Thanks again.

Thanks on this. I had a backup of my EFS folder, but the tool I used to create it made a .img file and once I got it into JB, the tool didnt work. UGH.
Just want to say thank you for posting this. I have a friend who had her Infuse stop getting calls, texts, etc. Turns out her IMEI was all question marks and other invalid characters. ATT wouldn't help her at all and either did a full reset.
thank you, this method really works!! finally my imei is back...no more symbols, now is time for a efs back up
Since when do phones lose their imei's? That's a new one on me.

It happened for me twice on two separate phones when using MIUI. Basically the ROM managed to corrupt the system partition, specifically the efs folder.
I don't know the specifics of why, but it happens to a lot of people. That's why I always now make sure I have a backup of the efs just in case.

Now one silly question:- I unzipped the efs file attached and it says "efs.rfs" but your instructions above says "efs.tar" needs to be selected under CSC option. Am I missing something?

Strange things are happening to me.
About 2 weeks back this problem started and today when I reconnected the SIM and restarted the phone everything was back to normal. Phone is picking up signal/3G etc.
Surprised is the word. Leads me to believe some app must be responsible for all of this.
Thanks,

Blocking Mode Fix (Root Required)

**I am not responsible for any damage you do to your phone. This as any other mod is done at your own risk. This is just a guidline on how to get a real fix for blocking mode on your VZW Jelly Bean device.**
This blocking mode fix has been confirmed on both the VZW Note 2 and the VZW Galaxy S3
*You need to be rooted.*
IF YOUR ON A NON-VZW BASED ROM:
JUST FOLLOW PART 3!! (and part 4 if you like!)
IF YOUR ON A VZW BASED ROM:
Part 1
There are two apks that are the reason for blocking mode not working. The two files are the secContacts.apk and the secPhone.apk. You will need download these two apks from a other carriers rom and replace them in the system/app folder in root explorer (or your choice system file explorer) and change the permissions.. (For example download a flashable "att" note 2 rom and copy the secContacts.apk and the secPhone.apk and paste them into your system/app folder. Restart then change the permissions then restart again. Same thing with the Galaxy s3 only you have to download files from another carrier galaxy s3 Rom. From this point on blocking mode will work 100 percent.
Part 2
Now that you have blocking mode working, how can you access it. You can get a shortcut maker app and have a blocking mode home screen icon... OR..You can have it in the settings menu like it's supposed to be! Now just like before there is an apk that VZW had changed to block this. It is the secSettings.apk. So from the same rom you downloaded from before copy the sec.Settings.apk from the other carrier Rom and paste it in your system/app folder in root explorer. At this point you may or may not get a chance to restart your phone (it might freeze for a sec and restart by itself. Once phone restarts change the permissions and restart again. **NOTE: Some roms settings mave have more or less options then the stock. To access these just also copy and paste the secSettingsProvider.apk and everything will work perfectly** **NOTE: menu appearance will not change yet!**
Part 3
Last step. Now that you have the new menu there are still two more files that are causing the menu to change. In root explorer navigate to /efs/imei and delete the map_code.dat and then go to /system/Csc and delete the sales_code.dat. Now restart your phone and you are good to go. **NOTE: after deleting these files any VZW apps on your phone or in market will not be recognized on your phone. For example if you try to download a VZW app from the market it will say your device is not recognized. But they have 'market unlocker' apps that can trick the market to see you as any carrier you want. Also VZW Apps like backup assistant might not work properly.
Part 4
This is not really related to blocking mode but I though I might throw it in here as a bonus. If you copy the feature.xml from another carrier (ex is use the ATT one) and paste it in you /system/csc (I'm my opinion) makes your VZW phone better. The stock email app for example will never try to connect to the VZW server again. It will just go straight to the email app. It also seems to make your phone more responsive and work better with certain samsung apps. (Ex: the samsung apps.apk connects better with samsung push service.* Like I said just a little something extra I noticed.*
ENJOY!
EDIT: Those of you having trouble with step 2 with the secSettings.apk, try the file from either of these rom:
EDIT: You may need to wipe first.

I didn't mess with it long, but I got it to work once, but then I wiped and tried again and the same method I used didn't work, so I tried following the OP and didn't work.
if deleting those two files isn't that big of a deal I may try and figure out how to appropriately port this MOD using VZW .apks edited using int. .apks

Which rom are you on? I can give you the files iv been working with if you want to try. Iv been working with an ATT Rom. This method after wiping worked with the files iv been using.
As for the sales_code.dat and map_code.dat as i know that are just for the market to reconginze your device a VZW.for certain VZW apps. Like i said the only thing it did after deleting them for me was the market thing. certain apps like backup assistant might not work properly. everything else is fine.
Also yea a port might be better. Let me know whats up.

Ok so on my note 2 I am also on clean Rom ace. So all I did was delete the Sale_code and map_code files and it will show blocking mode in the menu and blocking mode already works. no need to replace any files because clean rom uses generic apks i guess that work for all carriers. so blocking mode already works.. as for the galaxy s 3 i used an att rom to get blocking mode to work with the method in the op. I will upload the files and send you a link in a minute

True. Although I personally could are less about any of verizons apps. I think they all are garbage, so for me i dont care about the market saying my device isnt recognized because i dont use them anyway. And the whole reason behind verizon changed everything in the the first place P*$$ed me off and drove me to want to change everything back, the way it should be, the way ALL the other carriers have there phone set up. This is how i found my method. So swapping the settings.apk for another, and deleting 2 (IMO) useless files, will make the menu look the way it was intended to with blocking mode in the menu, no replacement airplane mode toggle, and NO permenant backup assistant accounts, which shows up even if backup assistant is deleted on your phone. There is obviously more than one way to achieve this a blocking mode fix. Its good to have options.

Just because you don't think that those file are important doesn't mean EVERYONE else feels that way. I give you mad props for finding the other two (useless) files to get it to show in settings (which isn't even made for our phones and adds a lot of MORE useless crap).. IMHO
I'm sure many users enjoy your method, but I think many others will also appreciate NOT having to replace their settings.apk and remove files that a VZW phone needs. Pushing the Phone.apk and Contacts.apk from Synergy is no biggie since we use that ROM anyway.
No need to get defensive bud. Team work is the key here, I'd like to eliminate all int. .apks, and try and port w.e code is missing from our VZW .SecPhone.pk and SecContacts.apk.
again, like I said - mad props for figuring this out bro, many many people across VZW on sgiii and note2 were requesting this like crazy.
and again wasn't trying to put your method down by any means, just letting those know of another way.

I wasn't trying to sound like I was getting defensive I was just saying what I thought. Thanks you for the props. I also have to give you props. I agree the missing code is a better and easier method then mine. And I agree team work makes the dream work lol.. I have no idea how to edit the code and go through lines of code of apks so your skills clearly surpass mine.. but yeah glad I can help with what I discovered and hope we can figure it out properly.

In my experience Sprint devices don't typically get much love. I've considered building a rom for the G935P but I haven't touched that stuff since the LG G2 was a new phone, so I'm a wee bit behind on the curve. I'll check this out though.

Man I admire your work. With your help I have already created a method for Sprint SM-G935U QD2. I'm always willing to be a beta tester if you feel I'm worthy. I would like this thread but I reached my quota lol. I'm going to test this method out as well and post results.
I was on P rooted, wiped cache 3 times, factory wiped data, reboot to bootloader.
In AP i flashed U firmware [BP, AP, CL, CSC] and let it install and run setup. (If you think you're in a boot loop its probably not true because it takes 5-10 mins to reach any setup screen, so wait it out.)
LTE activated, restarted phone, and then i applied Gmail Account. Skip Samsung Account.
After reaching home screen I went to turn on developer options>OEM unlock>usb debugging. TURN OFF verify apps via usb and auto update system.
Turned off Software updates automatically, then clicked manual updates and registered device. Clicked again and let update search.
Auto-updated Security policy in Lock Screen & security. Make sure automatic isn't enabled.
Turn auto update in Google Play Store off.
Close All Recent Apps.
Power Off.
Power On into Download Mode.
Run ODIN Again and insert:
S7edge_Qualcomm.tar into AP. Start flash.
Once reaching home screen, immediately run Command prompt as administrator and redirect folder to:
Nougat_S7_UFitrm_Root_2_79
Type root.bat and then type enter. [Don't run root_with_tweaks.bat]
Device will reboot and don't press any key like it asks you until you reach home page, and device connects to PC by Auto-Run/Opening folder.
When Drive is listed in PC then press enter and SuperSU+Flashfire will install then do a long reboot. 5 mins.
Once at home screen, you will see it is Samsung as carrier. SMS/VOICE should work. MMS/DATA NO.
But we will fix it by going to:
Settings>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names
Delete Wholsales OTA apn by selecting, clicking top right menu, and delete.
Now the Global Roaming APN... select it.
Change the whole APN to:
Name:APN2 LTE Internet
APN:n.ispsn
MMSC:http://www.mms.sprintpcs.com
Multimedia message proxy
68.28.31.7
Multimedia message port:
80
MCC
310
MNC
000 // Do Not CHANGE!
APN type
default,supl,mms,dun,fota
APN Protocol
IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol
IPv4/IPv6
Bearer
LTE,
Top right menu>SAVE! Make sure APN2 LTE Internet is enabled and by the dot being blue. LTE should display icon and reset device to verify it stuck.
Flash LTE Icon FIx with FlashFire which is in App Drawer.
Nougat_S7_Edge_EngBoot.tar.md5 works as well.

They are md5 tar files if they are bad they will fail check by Odin. I'm not sure why you are trying to extract them but 7zip will extract them
Im kinda seeing why there is no development in Sprint forum. Can't get anybody to try anything. The status is the SprintTest rom boots a custom rom with stock boot.img which means this could work just like Verizon does with working samsung pay etc I just need to get data working. I only have one person willing to try stuff. If there is no interest in this rom I will probably close the thread. Im uploading a new Ufirm and a new SprintTest rom but like I said If no interest then I will go back to my world and close the thread
Here is the SprintTest3 Rom Need Testers for this

Also updated Ufirm in OP to V8 It needs tested. There will be no more updates until there is some interest in this method.

If you could give the SprintTest3 a try I know it boots I switched some CSC stuff and removed a couple of apps so maybe it will connect to network. If it doesnt maybe we can try some things

I am currently on your method [slightly twisted] with 4G enabled. Data but no voice/sms...working on it.
I chose S8 all the way which was probably a mistake.
The installer is quite intriguing.
Remove about everything debloat.
But SuperSU is working fine. Going to start over but it definitely holds a root+data.
Anyways ill keep you posted and Good Job. Thanks.

I will change CSC code to XAS this should allow editing of APNs. I will reupload
The whole point of this rom is not to root the rom If the rom booted it means you have a custom rom running with stock boot.img which should not be possible. Its like the Verizon version if your not rooted you can still use samsung pay snapchat etc and any other safetynet checking apps

Of course, I started over because i was tweaking stuff and my SuperSu got disabled. I'm having a hard time repeating it but ill manage it. Its pissing me off because I've been trying different ways to gain sms/voice but my SuperSu broke and binary needed updating which caused any service to be canceled. This left me with no bars and the do not disturb icon for signal. Because some of the steps don't work like they do for Verizon, a lot of of your files needed to be switched around and flashed multiple times. I had to improvise. but once i secure this process... probably today, I'll type it up if you'd like, or head on to your next plan.
