I cracked my screen a few months back, and right after it happened I bought a new digitizer to replace the cracked one. The install didnt go very well, since the tape used to adhere the digitizer to the LCD got mangled during removal of the original digitizer. Dust ended up getting between the LCD and Digitizer etc. One other problem I ran into was that the LED's that are supposed to illuminate the home/menu/back/find buttons were now shinning up into the screen and washing it out.
Anyways I got fed up with the dust and bought a new fully assembled screen/digitizer off ebay. I installed it last night and everything is great except that the lights are still shinning up through the glass and washing out the lower inch of the screen. I dont see why this would happen as there is really only one way to put it all back together.
Any insight as to how to get the lights to stop doing this?
Thanks!

I was wondering what the black stuff between the lcd and digitizer is and where do I get it? My wife and son both broke their digitizers so I decided to replace them. The first phone I did was my wife's and I think I might have removed too much of the black adhesive because the digitizer keeps lifting up allowing dust to get trapped in between. I learned from my first attempt and myy son's went much better and is working perfectly.
I'm trying to change the glass digitizer on my phone, i'm also keeping the old frame, but when the glass was changed the notification bar was scrolling randomly as if a multi-touch was happening? any idea of what the cause could be. The phone is running stock rom and the adhesive used is lepage gel epoxy
When I changed only the digitizer, I never used glue to put it back... never had a problem with the touch.
I had just changed one with one that had an lg logo. It had these dots with connecting lines you could see when the light reflected on it. That digitizer had some issues with the touch scenceativity. I replaced it with one with a T moble logo, there were no dots or lines in it and it works like it was a new phone. I used a double stick tape to install them it holds good and if you have to remove it for some reason it is easy to heat with a hair dryer and ease off without breaking it. I guess I just got a bad one at first (lg logo one). Otherwise it was not much of a problem to change. The seller did refund 1/2 the cost of the lg logo one so I guess that was fare It works just not as responsive as the other.

Hello guys,
I've been using DHD for quite a long time and I never experienced any problems with this phone until I noticed the digitizer is cracked. I just took the phone out of my pocket and realised that it doesn't react when I touch the screen - there is a small crack in the corner. I think this is just the digitizer because the image is displayed correctly and there are also no scratches on Gorilla Glass (i also used screen protector). I have not dropped the phone recently (neither hit it with a hammer) and I'm wondering if it is possible that the digitizer has a factory defect and what about the warranty in such a case because when I heard what is the cost of repair...
Any clues guys? This is very important...
I had a similar problem with my screen.
The upper part of my screen was devastated with pieces of glass coming out regularly.Yet,the touchscreen worked.
Your case is pretty weird.I think you should take it to HTC and try to persuade them that its a defect if you're sure you haven't damaged it!
GoodLuck :good:
I managed to break the screen on my Optimus 3d last night, not sure if it was dropped or ran over. I found it face down in my driveway this morning and to my horror when I flipped it over the screen was completely smashed, however the phone is still working fine, minus the never ending ghost call issue.
What make the situation worse is Rogers just sent me out a replacement phone yesterday and I have to send this one back, in the next couple days.
So I called a repair centre and they wanted $190 to repair the phone, and stated they would need to replace the LCD and the glass screen. I know there is nothing wrong with the LCD screen, phone functions and all colours are good, just has broken glass.
My question is, can I repair just the glass without replacing the LCD? I have found the screen for around $30 on ebay. Based on watching the how to on youtube it doesn't look like too difficult of a job.
me too i have broke my glass of my phone and they said like your prize to replace thre glass but in my country crunncy and the screen work perfectly I don't know why they want to change the screen too it's annoying

If your LCD is working you only need the digitizer replaced (phone front + touch screen) which costs you around 20/30$ http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement...080?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2d78e968 .
My touchscreen was broken (randomly pressing things on the screen) and I think the 2nd hand shop I got it from only replaced the digitizer I think based on the small dust I see on my screen.
This only works if your LCD doesn't show blurry or (partially) black (damaged).
I have a Blu Studio Energy (D810U, I believe). I went to a lot of trouble getting a ROM that had the fewest bugs, but once I did, it worked well until I lent it to a "friend" who promptly smashed the screen. Not just the digitizer but the LCD as well.
I ordered a screen replacement and swapped out the screen. I've done this before, so no sweat - at least until I turned on the phone and found that while it was reading touch input and the backlight was on, there was no picture on the screen. It responded by vibrating when I pressed the capacitative keys on the bottom, and when I pulled the screen slightly out with a suction cup the edges of the LCD were lit up. I removed the assembly, replaced it repeatedly, and finally bought a new screen assembly and put that in. Every time, I had the exact same results.
Does anybody have any idea what's going on here?
