[Q] CM7 - LG Optimus 3D

I am trying to install the CM7 Nightly 45 rom and I can't seem to get my network to work. I have tried manually typing in the apn settings and when I go to save it,it doesn't save it. I have tried using the apn backup and restore app and that didn't work. Was just wondering what else I could try. My stock rom is 2.3.5 v20c.

Are you installing the P925 or the P920 version??
Since the 45 nightly is the last one for the P925, I assume you installed that one.
You need the FroYo baseband for that, but you have the gingerbread stock installed.
If should install CM7 for the P920 if you are not sure about flashing the baseband.

Oh alright. Thank youvso much for your help. I will give that a try instead

You probably installed a rom that is not compatible with your baseband. Which rom did you install?

That is a GB rom. What baseband is on your phone? Go in to settings > about phone and check software version.

Yup, v10k is the baseband. v10k is a froyo baseband. That is why you have no signal. You need to flash a gingerbread baseband if you want Cyanogenmod to work. You can search around the forums for that. Otherwise, you need to flash back to any froyo rom to get your signal back.
Hi same thing happened me install the O3D ThiaiZ ThiaiZ GB v2.7.1 and does not give me no signal and can install the default passes brings froyo, someone who knows how to change the baseband can help me?
you can fix this by flashlight the GB baseband. do a simple reach here, you wont miss it.

Download the preparation kit from the rom. It has all the instructions to flash just the baseband and leave the rom intact.

[Q] Flashed new ROM, no call audio

I'm new at trying out different ROM's. I rooted my phone, installed CWM through NVflash.
Here's my issue: I've tried both Hellfire GB 2.1 and EaglesBlood ICS 4.0.4. First let me say they both seem to have done great jobs!
The problem I'm experiencing is with placing calls. I tried calling my voicemail and there is a LOT of static and I can only faintly hear the voicemail behind the static. I've tried this through the earpiece, speakerphone, and on a bluetooth headset.
I followed flashing instructions precisely: wipe wipe wipe (even with the Nullifier), install ROM zip, then gapp zip. Boot up and wait 10 minutes.
I backed up my original (T-mobile GB 2.3.4) and can restore to that with no problem making calls.
Help?
try reading a little more next time, the new baseband will not work with anything besides 2.3.4...2.3.4 rom will only be able to make calls on 2.3.4 roms... the only other way is to revert back to 2.3.3 (V21e)

Sorry I tried various search words, and I'm not sure what "baseband" is haha.
Am I understanding you right: I have to find an older Gingerbread ROM, flash that on my phone, and THEN I can flash to something newer like EaglesBlood 4.0.4?
My phone was GB 2.3.3 until about 2 weeks ago with the OTA update to 2.3.4.

No, once you get the official OTA update with the new March 2012 baseband (you can check which baseband you have in settings>about phone) you CANNOT flash any other custom ROM other than the official OTA update or a rom that is based of it because of compatability issues.
The only way that you can flash the Eaglesblood ROM or whivhever ROM you want is to downgrade down to the v21e ROM for the G2x if you search on XDA youll find some instructions on how to do so
Hope this hhelps clear up some things

Here's how to fix. Go to g2x developement, the thread how to unbrick. Then second post. Follow that.
But flash stock recovery first.
Be sure while the procedure is happening, just wait patiently

OP just restore your nandroid and enjoy your phone. 2.3.4 with new baseband works great.
He wants a custom rom. Just follow the steps I told you

Thanks for everyone's input... I restored to my stock ROM for now. I'm hoping it's just a matter of time before custom ROMs use the newer baseband

I've recently downgraded from ICS ROM Genesis Stable Build 1 after having some lagging issues and problems with call audio.
I just wiped and flashed CM7 HF Phoenix with Trinity T15 kernel, but I'm having similar problems that I had with the Genesis ROM. I updated to the newer baseband on Genesis to correct some call audio issues, but I'm now having the same problems after downgrading back to CM7.
I already tried GetRIL and have matched my baseband, but I'm still having the call audio problem. Do I have to revert back to stock and reflash or is there another solution?

need some quick help with this one

took both mine and my wifes g2x back to 2.3.4 stock. ran the updated baseband on both but for some reason her's still isn't making/receiving calls. also her baseband is showing jul 15 2011.
i did this to hers last night and didn't bother checking it. now shes on a 8 hour road trip with our 2 girls and has no phone.
i also tried the lg support tool but the phone has a jacked up charger port and would never connect to my computer.
If she has the July 2011 baseband try putting the 2.3.3 ROM on it or if she still has CWM installed flash this on her 2.3.4 ROM and see if it fixes it http://db.tt/abISGgzB

yeah clockwork is still on there. i'll have to wait till she gets to her sisters and shoot her the link and walk her through cwm.
i'll letcha know what happens.

If she's still on the 2011 baseband then any cyanogenmod rom should work as well... her phone wont work because she has a v21e baseband and is running a v21y rom.
This has been the cause of alot of confusion on the forums the last couple months.
Hope it works out.

I'm not positive that is entirely correct, I haven't been around here much but last time I checked that latest CM nightlys only work with the latest 21y baseband.
she's on stock 2.3.4. lets not worry about custom roms cause there is no way im talking her through downloading and installing a rom
what i don't get is i used the same zip file to do both of ours. after doing the exact same thing on both i ran getril and mine passed but heres did not. mine is good with 21y and her's prompted for 21e.
is it just a simple fix of her d/l'ing 21y through getril?

Like I said before she needs a v21e based rom not a v21y based rom.
And no all new cm aren't only for the new baseband.
Just because its a custom rom doesn't mean its any more complex or unstable, in fact with this garbage device the custom roms are more stable than the stock ones as far as I'm concerned.

while true, i have yet to find one that has everything working that stock has. either mms doesn't work, gps has problems, video cam doesn't work, or this that or the other.

no go with that one either
but here's the weird part. when she goes into "about phone" it has the july 2011 bb, but when she goes into getril its showing the march 2012 bb
She needs to go with the 21e then. Get ril is wrong, but she needs to go with what about phone states.

yeah 21e isn't working either.
this is about retarded that we are both on the same rom, but mine runs 21y fine and her's won't run 21y or 21e.
guess i'll have to have her install a rom to get up and running.
is there one out there that has gps, mms, and video all working with little to no extra files?

[Q] list of custom roms flashable in new and old baseband in lg p500

i am really confused which rom i can and cannot flash in the new and old baseband in my lg p500..... would be a great help if an expert would point me the way by listing them down.
--\o/--
Any rom before mik_os 6.5.8-old baseband, any rom afterwards is all new baseband...even if your on old baseband,v10 series. With the help of that old bb fix flying around, you'll be able to use a majority of the roms in both original development and android development threads....check the sticky threads because I think sweetnsour made a detailed thread on which rom works with which baseband....but still even if your on old baseband you can still use new baseband roms as long as you flash old bb fix...if your on new baseband,v20. I believe you have to revert back to v10 via LGDMP or KDZ..I wouldn't recommend kdz though,I've never used it

[Q] What Gives?? Lg G2x.....

So I recently acquired my second G2x. I rooted it with no prob just like i did my last one,and began installing custom roms. All was going well as i had flashed a few roms with no problem. I was running Eaglesblood ICS for a cpl days, and it was working good. A few days in,it started acting funny, apps force closing, random reboots,so i decided to go back to a GB rom,Hellfire Phoenix. Flashed it,went to boot,Lg icon appears for a few seconds, then nothing. Ok,no problem, tried clearing caches and fixing permissions, still no go. At this point,I tried CM7 and could get it to boot, but calls wouldnt work, some odd clicking sound. Did some research and found out this could be caused by a bad baseband,so i flashed my backup of the stock rom,and it works perfectly, only problem is whenever i flash any rom other than stock,it either wont boot,or in call audio is borked. Any advice or links to a tutorial to fix this would be much appreciated! I am on the stock 2.3.4 GB rom with the March 11 2012 baseband, 2.6.32.9 kernal....
Prepare to get flamed for not searching first. The answers you seek are already on the forum. I'll give u a quick answer anyways. Check the original post for the ROM you flash for if it's new or old baseband. Then check the stickies for info about a patch for each instance of incompatibility. If you're using a T-Mobile G2x, all this baseband/RIL stuff has been addressed. Check out the sticky thread by noahk423 in the General section.
Why would he get flammed? He searched, he just misunderstood what the info was.

Go there, flash the zip to fix the noise. If a phone has the newer baseband but you are using a ROM which wasn't built from G2x CM7 sources, eg, Temansek CM7, you will need to flash that zip.
