I have CM7 up and running with the CM Kernel. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can flash the Telus modem for HUSPA+.
Thanks!
I am. However, I seem to have misplaced hsupa along the way. Editing build.prop does NOT get it back.

I installed this ROM last night and love it. But one thing is my phone keeps dropping Data. It drops WIFI and my cell service for a split second. Any ideas how to fix it?
Flash a different modem

Not quite sure what you mean by flash a different modem. I'm pretty new to Android based phones......I've had an Iphone for 3 years.

Alright after trying to download some podcast today I noticed it wasn't my data dropping out, its my WIFI.
I have a galaxy s 2 I 727 unlocked for T-Mobile I have tried adding apn for [email protected] to enable 3g. But it won't save. Any clues

is it stock? If it is you need to flash cwm through odin and then flash vk1 radio from t989. I'm not sure if the stock rom plays nice with different apns, so i recomment flashing a different rom as well through cwm, like mhx superlite or a silver's sti. Then u should be able to select proper bands and make apn changes.
Hi. Thanks so much for responding. After unlock. I installed juggernaut v5. Then per instruction immediately flashed r34p3rex_t989 skyrocket conversion.zip. according to those instructions all I needed to do is to custom input the apn. To a predefined set given. The main problem is when I input the custom apu it doesn't save. My device is rooted

I'm running an ATT skyrocket on Tmobile network as well and I have tried every current ROM/Radio combo to try to get ACTUAL 3G speed and cannot. My phone tells me I'm connected to H/3G but i'm still getting Edge speeds. Did you ever resolve this? I am about to do what you did, with the skyrocket convertion zip + juggernaut v5. These are old ROMs but I will do anything to get this working on the Tmobile network. I am wondering if you have since found a new ROM to get this working? Maybe something ICS or JB?
Thanks!
Okay guys, I have been searching for a comparison between these 2 stock Roms and can't find anything. I have read that the leak is better, but would like to know if anyone has ran both stock and rooted on their phone? If so, what are the differences? I am running the radio and can't tell much of a difference, if any.
If there is a dev that would care to weigh in with any technical differences, that would be great!

It supposed to help with signal reception on the Galaxy S III and may provide better voice quality. No new features!
Is there anything in the firmware that is different or is it basically a radio? I would assume firmware fixes as well, would just like to clarify from someone that knows and is not assuming like me.

I've ran both and have not really noticed a difference speed wise. I did notice that my GPS is fixed from the G7 radio. G7 I couldn't connect on the brightest, cloud free day standing on top of a hill. Now it finds me instantly (again). The only other thing I did notice ( and this may have been fixed in the G7 build is when you are looking at your phone and you hit favorites, it doesn't swap the favorites and contacts tabs like it used too. Other than that, phone quality seems the same.
Okay, here is what I did. I don't have access to a PC so I downloaded the Odin image of the HD build and flashed it via Mobile Odin. I wiped the caches and everything appeared to be okay. I started restoring everything and then gaps started force closing, then the message app started force closing. I figured wipe caches again and reboot. Same problem. Wiped again and fixed permissions, gaps seemed to be okay for the short time that I ran it but messaging still wouldn't work. Tried again, still no luck. Tried restoring with Titanium, installation failed so I uninstalled, but it wouldn't reinstall the app. I had to revert to a nandroid to get everything back running properly.
I have not had very good luck with Mobile Odin Pro. It could very well be user error, but I have yet to get it to work properly. Also, in addition to the force closes, I could not get a very good signal. I thought this is strange because I am on build 7 running the HD radio and it appears to give me the best signal that I have had so far with this phone.

ran 5 tests on this and last radio. Average was PRECISELY same. I also literally did not move the phone an inch.
Will flashing the new modem in odin trip the counter??? Im still on stock and thinking about flashing the HD radio.
I didn't notice any speed difference but I did notice on HD that I get lte in low reception spots where it would go to 3g so it's great for me.

I'm new to the Verizon side of the sgs3 but should I be getting this HD update ota? Been checking for update on about phone for past 3 days and says I'm up to date so it makes me wonder...

The HD is a leak. You will not get it ota. If you want to try it, you will have to flash it.

To get the VRLHD modem head on over to this page.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34053-of...zon-sgs3-sch-i535-odin-or-recovery-flashable/
It also contains all the modems available for the phone. There is Odin and CWM flashable formats available.
Flashing via Odin should not trip the flash counter. I really don't know what trips the counter. Mine says 4 but I've done a ton of flashing in the last week.
Just buy a $8 USB JIG to reset the counter or try Triangle Away.

I should point out. The HD update is not a ROM is only a modem upgrade.
@OP,
if you did your TB restore settings under all apps and system data that could be why you're having a buggy device. It's best to only restore Apps + data..and not System data with it after an upgrade like this.
As far as performance of the leaked modem goes,I have not noticed any real difference since coming from the G7 Modem. But still it's always good to have the latest..and supposedly..greatest..
Also when using Mobile Odin pro, it's a good idea to acquire the TAR files instead of the ZIP files to do the flashing. Just saying...lol..

Yeah, I knew not to batch restore. I individually restored the apps without the data to attempt to try and avoid any problems with that. Nothing much to restore data wise anyway, I hardly ever play games. My contacts are the biggest deal. I am currently running G7 base with HD modem and it seems very responsive and stable so far. If I don't see any reports of big gains from the HD base, I intend to stay put for awhile.

I am on xbsalls XBSAVX3D custom rom and when i try and use wifi everything connects properly, but when i try and use it at all it says its not connected at all, ive had this problem with the 28b rom too, im fine with stock rom though. Any help is appreciated
I'm on XBSAVX3D as well but my wifi is working fine as I'm answering you right now with it I did have an issue earlier that I was watching youtube on data and then connected to wifi later...said no network connection. No idea why but a simple reboot fixed for me. Hope it helped. Also I'm running a different kernel with unlocked bootloaders instead of the stock kernel that came with the rom. No idea if that makes any difference or not.

Lol i dont have data so wifi is my only option haha and rebooting doesnt help and im using unlocked bootloaders and ive tried iodaks kernel and Pesach85s kernel each with the same result
Sorry my bad I totally got backwards on that. If you are in the US like me, did you alter the build.prop target country from EU to US and flash the V30B baseband followed by a factory reset? If so have you tried to flash V28B baseband instead? If those options don't work my friend I'm clueless.
