im not sooo sure how many sense lovers out there. any devs able to do anything with these? just thought id pass it along. i really like the dual tabs. other wise i don't use much sense really. well hope someone can use this.

I'm gonna go out on a limb (NOT) and pronounce we'll have ROMS with Sense 3.0 within the next 10 days, at latest, running out TB's!

There is a Guy at the evo section porting this already. Tmartin or something. He said yhr system file was 580mb no wonder it won't work on some phone. Plus where's our gingerbread leak lol seems like every other phone is having a hood day today.

The myTouch has it. At least the newest version of sense available. Idk if its 3.0 or not but its whatever's running on the TB out of the box. (Sense)

I was talking to customer care on the phone when. They offered it to me. Might not be available as an add on service thru the website yet

I have it on my family plan, I don't use it though it was primarily for my mother. It doesn't come up on mine. Get calls quite a bit from individuals I either don't know or aren't saved in my phone. So I think the assumption that having rooted it may not work.

Help to get Name ID to Work on MT4G
I have a theory that if we were to install the phone.apk fromthe Doubleshot (MT4G Slide) this option would work. I think the option is enabled to accept this information from within the application
I have updated my account by changing phones to the MT4G Slide purchasing the option and then changing my phone model back to the MT4G.
This Name caller ID does not work yet but I am looking for help in updating the Phone.APK for the VU ROM.
Any ideas where to find the latest Doubleshot "Phone.apk" .... Please do not not say SEARCH. LOL I have and cannot find it or cannot be sure this is the latest Phone.APK for doubleshot.
I downloaded the ROM for the MT4G Slide but am unsure how to extract the Phone.APK from the Update.zip
OK - UPDATE
Finally extracted and pushed Phone.APK form Doubleshot ROM.
No phone signal at all so I reverted to original VU Phone.APK
Any thought on how to get Doubleshot Phone.APK into MT4G?

HTC Sense Expresso -Sucks??

Well im planning on getting the phone as soon as it drops this Wednesday, however i couldnt help to notice how the phone is build with a HTC Sense Expresso 3.0 build, which honestly sucks. coming to think about it...
-no customization of lock screen
-no 4 icon shortcut at lock screen
-boring black and white customization screen
-only 5 home screens
-no HTC Hub with extra themes download capabilities...
those are the big things i kinda noticed with this HTC Sense build. even though its 3.0 and what not, it doesnt offer that much customization as the HTC Sensation 4G..
it should have the regular HTC Sense 3.0 stock built, no skinned 3.0..
anyone think the same way? share your thoughts

Just give it like a week and all will be available!

If I hate it ill keep using my favorite home replacement, go launcher ex.

Who had the bright idea to make it impossible to remove contact suggestions in sense without root.
Also T-Mobile contact sync ignores you when you click the checkbox off to not sync so T-Mobile is basically stealing all your contact information without asking you.
I feel like I have a rocket engine in my pocket running a pretty ****ty stock build.

Yeah I'm just referring to the fact that the devs here on XDA are awesome and with S-OFF coming we'll be able to overclock and run a fuller version of Sense 3.0 and I'm not worried about it at all!

oh yes! the guys down here at XDA are truly incredible when it comes to all that good stuff and yeah ima wait for them to come out with something like that, i wish i could help somehow though....

oh guys i have read and seen that devices that are retail (which i guess means bought at the store and what not) are all S-ON
theres no S-OFF for retail devices, i think HTC lied -_-
so without that...theres no custom ROMS? (

Someone will S-OFF this bad boy like they did with the G2, give it a week.
We'll either have a way to flash it with the S-off bootloader or we'll have a ENG S-OFF bootloader, or something like g-free

And HTC will unlock the bootloader with an update in August or September anyway.. probably around the same time as the Sensation.

Learn to code and port the rom yourself, or wait for somebody else to do it for you.

It's tricky because the Sensation has a higher resolution for a different screen size than our phones, so a direct port wouldn't work very well. What we NEED is a port of THIS!

I know one dev has expressed an interest in this, but it's not the top thing on his project list and I wouldn't presume to speak for someone else in that context - so the idea is at least being tossed around on some level.

7 months ago I knew nothing about coding for Android - I was strictly a user, and barely knew anything about how Android actually worked.
We always welcome new developers of any talent or skill level here, and are happy to help people who take the initiative in learning how to do this stuff.
You should try your hand at it, it's not as hard to get involved as you think. You have a goal - a port of a ROM from one device to another, so learn what it takes to get there.
Start small, learn how to mod one thing on your device successfully, and keep learning in small steps one thing at a time - it's a whole lot of fun and you'll get a lot out of it.
XDA exists not for the end product, but how to get there. The journey is much more prized then the end result.

We already have that....unclespoon....and we also have sense 3.0 ports on here and Rootz.....and we have ics/sense 3.6

[Q] Sense 3.0 on Infuse?

This is probably a noob question, but I guess i'm just not sure how these things work. Why isn't it possible to fully extract HTC sense 3.0 from an HTC phone, and replace whatever is on a Samsung. I'm assuming that hardware and software are somewhat linked so that maybe one of the answers. But it would be nice to see HTC sense on the beautiful SuperAmoled Plus 4.5" Sammy Screen. I guess my question is why do I have to resort to a theme to make my Infuse look like sense instead actually having it.
ps. I know some of you will tell me to just get an HTC, but I prefer Samsung for many reasons, and i just like a few of the 3D Animations that Sense offers, including the weather.

HTC hacked up too much stuff in the low-level frameworks to make this even remotely easy. Even if it were possible it would be buggy as hell.

So what would happen if I tried to flash a Rom made for an HTC, or try to flash an HTC Kernel. Would it just not work, or would it brick my Infuse?

You wouldn't exactly brick it since you can use the Ultimate Unbrick to restore it to stock but the ROMs wouldn't work and most likely the kernels prolly wouldn't either

it just wouldnt boot up at all. lol.
heres what you CAN do if you want some of that HTC Sense. FAKE the whole thing.
get a launcher that allows you to chnage the dock bar. i believe that "he launcher" has several options to choose from.
then you can go over to the UOT kitchen and load up your framework-res.apks and choose the HTC Sense icons they have there. they look pretty legit. then just flash the, to your phone. then for the widgets, just download some from the market.
the you go. your Faux-Sense is made.

Lp sense actually works really nicely and theres agile lock, for the sense 3.0 lock screen but its a bit inconsistent.

It would "softbrick" - hardbricking is nearly impossible on our phones.
