HTC Sense Expresso -Sucks??

Well im planning on getting the phone as soon as it drops this Wednesday, however i couldnt help to notice how the phone is build with a HTC Sense Expresso 3.0 build, which honestly sucks. coming to think about it...
-no customization of lock screen
-no 4 icon shortcut at lock screen
-boring black and white customization screen
-only 5 home screens
-no HTC Hub with extra themes download capabilities...
those are the big things i kinda noticed with this HTC Sense build. even though its 3.0 and what not, it doesnt offer that much customization as the HTC Sensation 4G..
it should have the regular HTC Sense 3.0 stock built, no skinned 3.0..
anyone think the same way? share your thoughts

Just give it like a week and all will be available!

If I hate it ill keep using my favorite home replacement, go launcher ex.

Who had the bright idea to make it impossible to remove contact suggestions in sense without root.
Also T-Mobile contact sync ignores you when you click the checkbox off to not sync so T-Mobile is basically stealing all your contact information without asking you.
I feel like I have a rocket engine in my pocket running a pretty ****ty stock build.

-they call the expresso build phones "stalkers" down where i live because wheather yu ask it to or not, it will sync facebook contacts and all their info into yur phone..

Yeah I'm just referring to the fact that the devs here on XDA are awesome and with S-OFF coming we'll be able to overclock and run a fuller version of Sense 3.0 and I'm not worried about it at all!

oh yes! the guys down here at XDA are truly incredible when it comes to all that good stuff and yeah ima wait for them to come out with something like that, i wish i could help somehow though....

oh guys i have read and seen that devices that are retail (which i guess means bought at the store and what not) are all S-ON
theres no S-OFF for retail devices, i think HTC lied -_-
so without that...theres no custom ROMS? (

Someone will S-OFF this bad boy like they did with the G2, give it a week.
We'll either have a way to flash it with the S-off bootloader or we'll have a ENG S-OFF bootloader, or something like g-free

And HTC will unlock the bootloader with an update in August or September anyway.. probably around the same time as the Sensation.

[Q] Mytouch Slide Expresso UI Port?

I know this might get moved, but I just want some devs to see it, and if they were intrested in porting the UI over, that would be great.
If anything just tell me what I need and Ill do it myself, I just need some help learning.
Hopefully some others would like to see this on the Sensation, just to have more of a varity, aside the normal Sense UI and the upcoming AOSP ports.

Are there any ROMS for 4g that run 2.3.4? I'll give it a go if there is..
EDIT: Ill download the rom for the mytouch 4g and try to port but i reckon it'll have to be at a lower DPI and will probably take a fair time to get all working as i have not attempted to port a ROM for this...Have for the Magic and hero but it was a while ago..

The espresso is the 3G slide, and it only has an HVGA resolution. It's UI is just an older version of Sense- in fact it only recently got the upgrade to 2.2.

Espresso was the internal code name for the MT3G Slide. It is also the name used to refer to tmo's customized sense ui.

Im downloading a MT4GS Rom to try to port, see how it goes

Expresso is just as bad as touchwiz 3.0

Just an update, i got the MT4G Rom to boot up,sadly ALOT of FC's and resolution is crazy! Ill keep going at it though.

You would have to edit alot of images and do a lot of image optimization.
Then you would also have to edit the htc.resources.apk a lot, its a doooseyy

[Q] Thyparancy Honey HD skin wont show up in market and says it's not compatible

I am looking for the Thyparancy Honey HD touch of blue skin. I have used it before and love it and know it works. I have sense 3.0 and for some reason it just doesn't even show up in the market. But if I go to the website to check what apps I have it says it's already installed but isn't compatible with my phone (sensation 4g, android version2.3.4 , software number1.50.531.1). I just don't understand why this wont work anymore when it has in the past. I recently just reflashed stock debranded mod coming from ARHD 3.6.13 and it was working fine. why isn't it now? I still have sense 3.0. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nothing then huh. Lotta help some of us are. I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering this

It could be to do with the build.prop not listing your device correctly in market.. My first guess

Thanks for giving me some sort of a response man. didn't mean to be pissy. i've got a 3 week old here at home screamin up a storm sometimes and it gets me on edge from time to time from lack of sleep, i'm new to this daddy scene.

so I've figured out a workaround on my own for anyone who can't get Thyparancy to show up in the market. go to:
http://www.androidblip.com/android-apps/thyparancy-honey-hd-248949-download.html
and scan the QR code and follow the instructions. it'll bring ya up to the market so you can download it.
if you don't have a qr scanner find one in the market

Is there a way that the mt4gs can get any of the sense 3.0 lockscreens without root or roms. And is there any way that the device can get different themes i do know that its technically impossible to get it from the market or from the htchub/htcsense website. Ive also email htc about the ics update and sense 3.6 for the device. Ive done it twice and i will upload both replies.

Try Go locker, and Go launcher. Go locker has all kinds of lockscreens, and Go Launcher has all kinds of themes.

We are not getting ICS officially ever. I contacted my "connection" at htc and he said the HTC Doubleshot will not get updated due to "Tmobiles Add on Skin" meaning expresso. We are the red headed step children. Stop asking htc when we are getting an update cause we are not. We will be lucky to see 2.3.5 officially.

Does any1 know how long it takes to mod your mt4gs and root it and get 2 roms? Can some1 give me the link for team freedom sense 3.5 rom and the sensation 4g rom.

Team Freedom never got the rom working.
You need to have ADB (Android Debugging Bridge) Setup.
Then goto the "Unlocker.Com". They have guides for our phone, alongside a video to help.
There's no Sense 3.0 Roms that are worth flashing on XDA. Over on Rootzwiki there's a Sense 3.0 Rom called "Rubix Sensation".
We have an ICS 3.6 Rom. Great since we have WVGA 3.6 parts now.

Someone's cousin/friend/uncle etc. has been telling someone crap for decades. 99% of the time it is bullsh*t. People claimed the original MyTouch would never be updated, yet HTC updated the whole lineup, even the old, ancient original one, up to Froyo.
I'm not counting out an official ICS update for the DoubleShot just yet. It might be late, but I think we will get one.

Right now I am using Decks ICS rom, it has a lot working but it also has its faults. Out of all the ICS roms for the shift what has the most working in it?

So far I have tried cyanogenmod 7 and MIUI and I am very pleased with CM7, it runs smooth for me and has had very little to no trouble with it. Just search around and look at reviews! Hope that helps!

Lol cm7 it's gingerbread not ICS. Cm9 is ICS. I believe decks it's the current title holder for most stable. But good things are one the horizon.

Thanks. I like ICS to much to go back to gingerbread, I'll keep looking around to see which one becomes the most stable.

They all have the same bugs:
Broken wimax, messed up camera, flaky wifi and now a google play bug that's been recently reported.
Just use NewSense. It works.
I know that there was some mumblings about toastcfh rewriting drivers and the kernel for CM9 HTC devices which should fix the issues for Shooter, SuperSonic and Speedy.
Until that's dropped all the ICS roms have something broken. It's just a headache a "newsense" that's just not worth it IMO.

Lol sorry, I keep forgetting because I Have my phone setup like ICS with all my third party launchers and apps and stuff.

you could try out NEWSENSE ROM V.1 with "somebody's" ICS THEME (located in themes and apps section) to get that ICS look. Also, checkout the thread "share your screens" for an example of the ICS theme look using NEWSENSE...

I'm updating my ICS Rom with some fixes

I'll check yours out and I'm now giving my shift to my bro, I now have the EVO 4G LTE but will always love the shift

I have been enjoying ICS Deck Shift by kushdeck thus far, using pb23 with the patches for Bluetooth and Camcorder FC. Stellar work I might add!
I don't use a bluetooth headset, which still is not working, but everything else does. The camcorder does not work but I think you can use a 3rd party app. I don't use it all that often so currently, I am using UStream when I do film exclusively since I had been working with Occupy a bit here and there.

If you don't get 4G in your area then does not having 4G really matter? I'm sick of waiting for sprint to put a tower in my area. I don't use/need Bluetooth. So Vicodan please tell me why I should not run ICS.

A theme will not give you the ICS functionality. I don't run ICS for the look of it I run it because I like all the features of it.

regarding your comment on 4G, It is so intermittent in my area that using it drains more battery than it is worth having it on. There are still so few towers that it really is not that great yet. Currently it is purely a marketing gimmick until the cellualr providers can better the service for it.

Oh is that true . 4G is so sporadic around here it's ridiculous. I have the best 4G signal anywhere at my house. Which according to the Coverage Map says there is no 4G . But it's all irrelevant at this point.

Regarding 4G
it really blows that they charge everyone more because of the supposed "4G" Networks..when in fact, we are giving them more money then it costs to fly us to space!! I know this from paying for text messages, simply by giving them x amount of cents per message.. now we tack on the extra amount which costs nearly as much as it does to have regular internet, just really makes no sense. :cyclops:
Back on Target: 4G is great and all, especially when you are in a strong area, but the reality of the matter is their still is not enough coverage for it. Therefore, I can be fine with not having the ability (at the moment) to use it until it's fixed and I'll go with ICS

Very true on several points. But hopefully in the near future Sprint said that even their 3G is supposed to Speed up considerably . Plus all the articles I've come across say that they're going to carry 4G till late 2015. But then again that doesn't mean ISH, because the coverage for 4G isn't going to improve any. So we shall see

I take everything sprint says with a grain of salt.
