Cracked my LCD, been looking online for a replacement screen. Unfortunately the only one available is the hitachi version. I've been looking for the sony version with part number: 60H00523. Looked through american, german, uk, taiwan and some chinese websites to no avail. Am I screwed? Anyone with the same problem with a solution?
I have been using my glacier for the past couple months and have been terribly sad that my slide is sitting there in pieces collecting dust.
I might just give in and buy another slide and hope that I get the sony version.

Cracked LCD. Need the Sony version. Where to buy?
Well doing some quick looking online it seems that the Hitachi version is the only one... and on every listing for one on every site it mentions the sony version and the S/N for it, but not where to get it. I will try and look some more for you though.
Edit: Ok... So I even found one for the Toshiba version???? But still no Sony version... I'll keep looking though.
I really do appreciate the help.
I thought I was doing something wrong but the sony lcd is no where to be found, to my knowledge. I went as far as to buy one of the hitachi lcds and tried it on my slide but the screen wouldn't even power on...
It looks like the only solution is to buy another slide and hope I get the better of the two screens and use my old slide as parts.

That may be the best option... And it seems that the desire s uses the same screen? So maybe that may be helpful, but I can't find any trace of the sony version anywhere... Only the Hitachi version and even a site that had the Toshiba version...
Edit: I found this... http://www.mengtor.com/product_show.php?category=699&pid=3463. Idk if it is the Sony version or not you may be able to call and find out, but it is a bit on the price side at $125...
Thanks for the help Marc.
I'm typing out an email to HTC support at the moment in hopes that I'll get some answers. I'm assuming that I can get my current one repaired by going straight to the source. HTC apparently offers repairs if I send out my phone, but depending on their answer/price I may go with that or just shell out and get a new one.
Side note, the sony version is S-LCD and the hitachi is just a regular LCD.
Why????????????????????????????????????????

That one is the glacier/mytouch 4g lcd unfortunately.
The backing of the hitachi version is similar but the sony version looks like the attched picture of the original broken lcd.

Good luck! . And I did not no that there was a s-lcd version and a non s-lcd version. Wouldn't that be fraud on HTC's part, since they advertise it as having a s-lcd screen if the Hitachi version doesn't?
Well if no.luck i have a old mytouch slide4g for salr dont use anymore busted speaker, willing to sell for cheap, i just use it to play with different roms PM me if interested

I am in the same shoes like you are. I need the Sony version as well and I can't find it. This could be "it", I am not sure though: http://www.repairsuniverse.com/htc-mytouch-4g-slide-lcd-screen-replacement.html. I just inquired about the P/N number, I'll let you know what I find out. Mine actually says P/N 60H00532-00P
I just found this one that matches my P/N number, it's for the HTC Rhyme though. Hmmm. But it looks like the one I need. It's out of stock right now http://www.parts4repair.com/htc-rhyme-lcd-screen-60h000532-version/ I just inquired about the availability and the price.
If you guys ever get replacement screes, please take pics when replacing!
I guess I have found the needle in a hay stack
I received an email back from repairsuniverse. They said that their screens are all Sony LCD screens with the P/N number that I need (H6000532). I placed an order with them a few minutes ago, I'll let you know if the LCD screen works once I receive it.

Disassembling the MyTouch 4G Slide is a SERIOUS pain. I broke the LCD doing it and I have taken apart a lot of phones, the MyTouch 4G Slide was my first (and last) attempt to do that. They used so much double-sided foam adhesive that there was NO way to NOT break the LCD despite heating the back with a heat gun.
How do we know what screen we have? I have a retail launch device (July 26 or something).

I guess the only way to find out what P/N you have, you would have to see the LCD when the phone is disassembled, unless there is a way to find the part number through terminal emulator or adb.

I have disassembled my other phone (n900) plenty of times, and I never anticipated that the sticky, would be so sticky!
I dropped my mt4gs in my coffee... and wanted to clean it out on the inside, but this ended up happening. I know the phone still works, I can make calls with the genius button and all, but also, in the process of ripping my lcd, the ribbon for the digitizer snapped off too. And now I have to replace both, SO....
I'm very interested if repair universe supplies the right screen as mine is the sony version as well.
I'll be waiting to see how this goes for you.
The disassembly is a pain, isn't it? I have taken apart HTC Sensations, many MyTouch 4G's and I NEVER even had any problems comparable to this.
Well, the LCD arrived on Thursday and I was really anxious to install it. Once everything was reassembled, I turned the phone on and - BLACK LCD. Now I have to go through the process of getting a Return Authorization, sending it back and getting an exchange, hopefully a compatible one. The LCD I received didn't have any P/N number on the back. I went through a couple of emails with them, requesting the correct P/N number to make sure that this didn't happen. Sigh. I'll keep you posted how it goes
Thank you for your research. I look forward to your progress.

same problem
Thanx for posting your experience. I'm having the same problem. I now have 2 MyTouch 4g slides that I Vann it find lcd's for. Ordered one from USMobileParts and black screen. I do have the part# for the original screen but it didn't match. And when I inquire about the part#, the sellers have no idea that there are more that just one screen available for this phone. Very frustrating!
But I was able to repair 3 of these without breaking the LCD. It's a real PAIN!
I think I found it!
I think I just found a website that sells the Sony version of this LCD. Here's a link: https://www.gounlock.com/details.php?itemId=7782
They specifically say that they have the Sony version and note the differences between the Sony and the Hitachi versions. It seems the Sony version has a line near the flex cable. The Hitachi version doesn't. I'm going to call just to verify and if it sounds good, I'm ordering at least three. I got this info from the folks at injuredgadgets.com Great guys.
I'll post back and let you know how it works out.
Why can't we finda ANY of the sony ones? Have we heard of anyone successfully replacing one of the hitachi screens and it worked? Hmm, maybe more than just the screen got damaged in the process of opening it? But it is interesting that no one supplies the screen..
I don't know. I just want to turn my pile of parts into a phone again.
Thanks everyone for your research.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement LCD glass for my Desire HD
I believe it's just the glass as the screen seems to still work.
If there's a place in or around London that can replace it for me even better, if not anyone know how difficult it is to replace.
I've noticed a few places on Ebay (China/HK) selling digitizers and complete LCD's but ideally I want somewhere in the UK.
thanks
Elliot
Hi,
I went through a similar experience less than 2 weeks ago, you can even see images here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834335
I rang around several places, none could commit to using GENUINE HTC parts. The only people I found were: www.htcrepairs.co.uk/ - and they even offer a walk in service whereas I found most others did not.
Unfortunately they don't have the parts I require in stock, maybe you can try them.
At the moment, they're the only people I've found in the London area that I'd be willing to give my phone in to...
Did you have any luck with finding anyone else?
Maybe contacting HTC? They can probably repair it for you but it can be pretty expensive though.
Maybe you got some pics?
You could try, as said above, get the glass/screen from eBay.
Repaired my SE K800i with it, where the glass could easily be removed and the new one could be installed within 5minutes.
Don't know how the HTC will disassemble though.
I'm going to try this place on the way home from work: http://www.spsmobile.co.uk I'll let you know how they go. They've got the parts and will charge me £60 for either the lcd or digitzer including fitting.
Here's some pictures. I think they'll get away with just fixing the glass, although it looks bad the lcd still seems to work ok.
Can anyone recommend a case surround?

How did it go?
Did they fix it whilst you wait, or retain the device to work on for a day or two?
More importantly, are they using genuine HTC parts ?
They fix while you wait, they're near Staples Corner (which is a bit of a walk from the tube at Brent Cross).
I need to go back tonight as they messed up and thought I had a Desire and not a HD, they're hoping to get the HD part in today, they're charging me the Desire price.
According to their website they use official parts, but who knows.
Warranty
* We give 3 months warranty on every repair excluding liquid / water damage and physical damage
* Every warranty handset is security sealed. Tampering with the security seal will void the warranty LCD / SCREEN warranty. We fit original screens only and they are security labeled
* Every handset is tested for 24 hours and comes with engineers report
I plan to visit these SPS guys tonight. Lets hope they manage to fix my phone.
I'm hoping to wait around so I can ensure genuine parts are used...
SPS didn't manage to get a Desire HD digitizer for me, they've got 1 on order. They're a little difficult to find (at least they were in the dark) they're behind Staples industrial state, in room 207, small little office. They seemed ok though they.

They were one of few who were adament they use genuine parts [they allowed me to inspect the parts before installation] AND allowed me to wait whilst they work on it.
Abolutely disgusting/poor customer service and general attitute towards their customers... though the main thing is my Legend is all well again !
Oh, it cost £70 for display + digitizer + installation.

Hey guys, New to the HTC sensation threads (its my Girlfriends phone)
Got her this phone about 6 months ago - 1 week after having it she dropped it and broke the digitizer anyway i got that fixed at my local phone shop with aftermarket digitizer - it worked well but you could tell it was not genuine.
anyway the other week i dropped it and broke the lcd screen yet the digitizer is fine and the phone is still 100% useable - except the display looks awful.
Does anyone know if this is an easy fix, is it worth fixing myself or taking it to the phone shop - Im embarrassed to go back and explain how it has broke again lol.... But i need to get it fixed, Im so close to having my wang removed by my girlfriend.
I was wondering whether or not HTC themselves would repair it ? and maybe replace the digitizer too, I dont mind paying the extra £££ for genuine parts and to be fixed by genuine HTC repairmen..
Any ideas how i can get out this mess ??
sorry for the long post.
Thanks
Off course HTC will repair it, but it'll take longer and probably charge you a lot more than what you can it fixed for.

Haha, no i did not.. But as soon as i get it fixed im gunna invest in a bulletproof / bombproof carbon kevlar box and keep it locked inside it !!!
Was it bought through a carrier or sim free? Could always take it to your carrier and see what they suggest, although they're not normally the cheapest, but at least it should get done properly.
Yeah i got it through vodafone, I think i will give them a call and see what they say.
I was considering taking out insurance, then in a few days call them and tell them its broken, This is risky.... what do you think the odds are with me getting away with it ?
Do you think they would notice the aftermarket digitizer ? It is an exact replica with HTC on it....
these damn phones are so fragile.... I miss the old nokias

No, you won't get away with it, and it's dishonest, anyway. Don't make yourself a criminal over a cell phone.
Now, that being said, check Ebay. There are lots of vendors in the UK and elsewhere (lots here in the US) that sell replacement screen kits, many of which include instructions and tools.
If you're handy with small tools and careful, you can do this yourself for a fraction of what it will cost you to have it done. I learned this when my kid's iPod battery died some years ago. They're not user replaceable, and Apple wanted some outrageous amount to do it, plus you had to send it away. I found a guy on line that sold batteries with tools and directions, and in 20 minutes, she was good as new.
Pays to do it yourself.

I totally agree with you !! i do not want to result to fraudulent behaviour... BUT, i dont want to pay approx £80 for parts and make the whole situation worse by possibly making more damage.
BUT i also dont want to pay approx £150 - £200 thinking i could of fixed it for much less by doing it myself.
I am good with stuff like that and am very gentle and careful..... but i dont believe in myself lol
I recently replaced mine. Its not too terribly hard to do. But you have to get it just right. Currently the digitizer is a bit slow and unresponsive at time but I think i didnt get it in there completely right. So I'm going to dissaimble is again today and get it suck in better and see of that helps

Since the Sensation screen is made by two different manufactures is it possible to mix and match them or do you have to replace the screen with the same one with phone came with? I have a Sensation that needs a LCD that I have not taken apart yet. Im wanting to get the better screen but im not sure if I can just put the better screen in it if thats not what it came with in the first place.

Well it's much better to replace it with the same display just to be sure it's going to work. There's also a side by side comparison of the Sharp and Acer (AUO) displays
That said, you can check what panel you have using the instructions on this thread:

Ill let you all know how it turns out....
Well I got the screen and digitizer from the link above today. Installed it and its perfectly fine. No lag anywhere, registers touch like the stock one did. The LCD panel seems to be the same quality as the AUO panel but thats fine with me since im pretty sure this phone came with the AUO from the factory. If you do decide to replace your screen and digitizer i suggest getting them as separate pieces. Having them attached to each other made it sorta difficult to get back together cleanly.

well the day after i got it fixed i knocked it off the side onto tiled flooring, it cracked the lcd but not the digitizer... so weird lol
anyway since then i have had some signal issues with my provider, they have established that the handset is faulty, they are collecting it to repair it.
I still havent had the screen fixed so im just going to see what happens when they go to repair it, Maybe they will think they broke the screen and fix it before returning it to me. Or maybe they wont.... if thats the case i will argue with them that it was fine before they took it away from me
after all, they must have 100's of these phones in boxes gathering dust in their warehouse(s) so a little arguing and im sure i will get it fixed / replaced.

Hey all,
Quick question here... Firstly, yes, I am a noob. I have an HTC One X on AT&T. My brother actually helped me root it and I'm running the Xi40 ROM I found in these developer forums.
Anyway, about 2 weeks ago, I dropped my precious One X, and cracked the screen. The LCD underneath was fine. I was considering replacing the screen/ digitizer myself, but after plenty of reading, it was just too much for me. So I had a local repair shop replace it. When they replaced the screen/ digitizer, they broke my original LCD, so they replaced the the whole combo (being screen/ digitizer/ and LCD). Well they actually put a international version of the digitizer in my device, and I know, because instead of saying "AT&T" at the top, it says "HTC"...
The replacement doesn't sit totally flush to the device, but I can push it in and it seems like there's space for the screen to fit it. Basically was the repair done wrong, or is the international screen actually different from the US version that's disallowing it to fit flush to the device?
I'll try and get pictures up later if anyone is interested.
Cheers.
I dont think the screens have any differences between the international version and the ATT version so maybe they just did the procedure wrong

Thanks for the insight. Currently I'm just trying to push it into place or something, hoping it will snap in. Any cases you guys would recommended that wraps over the sides to maybe help the screen stay flush?

I'll try and get pictures up later if anyone is interested.
Cheers.

He didn't do the best job putting it in, then again a lot of us got our phones with the screen not sitting flush as well.
and it isn't necessarily the T3 international version, the Rogers version (which is the same S4 variant) also says Htc on top. Either way though, you're fine.

I dont think the screens have any differences between the international version and the ATT version so maybe they just did the procedure wrong

That may not be true. The Teg3 One X uses panels from Acer and Sharp whereas the XL uses Sony panels exclusively. It seemed kind of odd but if they are actually sized differently it makes sense.

Ohhh, well in that case maybe that actually is whats causing OP's problem
I am trying to replace the LCD screen on a 4G slide and I see there are two versions, a Sony and a Hitachi. The problem is that the part number on the broken screen doesn't match the part number of the Sony or Hitachi. I'm not sure what to do. I've Googled the part number on the broken screen and don't get any results. Has anyone seen LCD's other than the normal Sony and Hitachi? Maybe someone has a resource that would know which manufacturer this part number belongs to? The part number is: 83H00434-00. The serial number starts with: 2A4A. An y help or advice is greatly appreaciated.
Thanks,
Ed

In my post I pasted the kernel source that references the screen - maybe Sharp made a screen?
There was also this one:

Pretty sure those are the only threads we have on lcd stuff, excepting that awesome guide on how to replace it that was posted.
Anything recent, though, definitely could have slipped my notice.

MAN.....is it ever great to have you back Blue!!
Thanks for the info. I did look through both of those posts previously. I do see the Sharp referenced in the kernel code you posted, but I can't find any reference to there being one available for the 4G slide. Maybe I'll try and order the Sony first and see if it works. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong part number...I'm getting it from the silver backing that holds the screen. I'm pretty sure that's the right place. There isn't a part number anywhere on the screen itself, back of screen or ribbon cables that I could see. I guess I can match it up by appearance since the Sony version has that extra line on it and then go from there. I'd hate to waste money and order one that isn't going to work though. I have attached images of the screen and the silver backing in case anyone can see something I'm not.
This phone is an absolute nightmare to take apart without damaging the screen and now I have an LCD screen that doesn't match either of the available replacements. I've taken apart and replaced digitizers and screens (and other parts) on hundreds of phones and this one takes the cake. That sticky tape they use to hold the screen to the backing is insane. Luckily the LCD was already broken, because even with a heat gun and hair dryer I couldn't get the screen out without damaging it more. I definitely won't take on one of these again.
Sorry for the rant. I do appreciate the help and info and if anyone else might have any ideas of why I have a different LCD part number and what replacement I should get, I'm all ears.
Thanks,
Ed

+1 to that!
Yea, the Sharp thing is just theory, never heard about it but that's what was in kernel source so... Dunno, could be referencing something else entirely.
Also, Dillalade took pics when he tore the phone down in this post:

So, maybe you can see something that might help ya there, outside chance.
Never took one apart or got inside, so, limited help but if I can think of anything I'll toss it here.

i also have the same lcd and i cant find anything with the same p/n or even s/n im just wondering if i could use any other screen.
if you want to know my experience with replacing the screen, read the final post HERE
i wouldnt suggest getting a sony if you have a hitachi, or vise versa
I bought a used Honor 8 that has a cracked front screen. It's tolerable but I've decided to get it fixed. The screen that is on now was a replacement screen. The lady told me that it cracked not too long after she got it replaced and that it happened without her dropping it or anything like that. She thinks that the person who replaced it, didn't know what they were doing. As of now, the phone works great but the screen isn't as bright as the original and seems to have burn in. I have thought about replacing it myself and wanted to ask, has anyone replaced their screen themselves? How'd it go? Would you recommend it? And if you got it replaced somewhere, what was the cost? How did it look like afterwards? I appreciate any and all answers!

Hello!
My screen is broken too. After a long search i've decided to order from Witrigs. There is only the custom screen available which is not as good as the oem one., but these are the best i could find from a reliable source. There is a video on the screens page which shows you how to install the new one. It will need some cheap equipment too to open the phone, like plastic-opening-card and case-opening-tool(the guitar one), yeah and don't forget the the LCD frame sticker. (and the suction cup, if you don't have any at home)
I'm still waiting for the parts to arrive, hoping that the screen's quality is acceptable compared to the original one. Also ordered a custom back panel because my got scratchy.
I'll write my experience about the screen and the repair when the parts arrive and assembled the phone.
Sry i wasn't able to post links because this is my first post here, but its easy to find them. For guide go for the video.
It's costed about 35$ with shipping and the back panel.
