Why can't I purchase any games from EA? - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

I go to that flexion link/site to download ea games for my xperia play. They download fine, they install fine, they let me play the trial period fine. But then when I go to purchase a game (I've tried this with battlefield and nba jam) I select credit card, I automatically get a small error window that pops up.
Is this because I'm on the lovely verizon version of play?
Do I have to wait for NBA Jam to be on their sh*tty v z app store? (If it ever makes it there)
If I root my phone would this allow me to make this purchases? Or is it because the flexion store is from the UK and they wont allow the conversion rate for my dirty American dollars? (Cant say I blame them)
Just need some help, I'm new here and a new owner of the phone, I've had it roughly 3 weeks now, so I apologize if this is one of those eye rolling noob questions, but I gotta ask in order to learn!
Thanks guys

Hows this for an easier question, has anyone from the U.S been able to purchase anything from the flexion/v.i.p site with a credit card? Im just wondering if there's an issue with my phone or if it's a verizon restriction or ea restriction, etc

Sorry man never bought from them. For a while they gave away FIFA, the Two NFS games, Battlefield 2, and Dead Space for free. I wouldn't buy from the flexion site because my cc company would nail me for foreign transaction fees. Also I would NEVER buy from the Vcast store, I did once, all the games verify themselves over the internet when you play, means no data connection, no game. I called up and complained and they refunded me.

Nuts, I really want this game
v z apps is a rip-off, not only do you need a data connection, the prices are always higher than android market or the publishers site. I REALLY wish I had read up on how censored this verizon version is before I bit the bullet.
I need to find a good stable hacked os, rooted os, whatever they call it and see if that gives me more freedom. Im really disappointed with this phone, soley because of verizon.

I wouldn't blame the phone. Its not the phones fault... its Verizon. Being the p.o.s. that it is. Blame VZ not the phone.

Gameloft Buy One Get One Free

Gameloft have a buy one get one free offer until SUNDAY 28th.
Best get a couple if you ask me!
http://blog.gameloft.com/uk/index.php/2010/11/25/android-buy-one-get-one-free/
Gameloft's system is terrible. Can't transfer games to new devices.
i think you can, but you have to email them about it. Better than nothing I suppose.
I can't get it to work for me.
Offer is on the UK Blog, I'm in the US...Wonder if that makes any diff?
1. I went to buy one of the games and was brought to their Payforit site.
2. I was prompted to enter my cellphone number and that I'd get a purchasing code within 2minutes
3. Went through steps 1 and 2 about 4 times, each time waiting well over the 2min suggestion.
...Yes, I'm connected via 3g and not wifi too.
Gameloft games can be transferred between devices. However, I had to make a voice call to get it done. Took about 5 min and then received an email with a download link. I don't think that this offer is open to the US. International mobile numbers likely aren't accepted by the site and that's why the text never arrives.
EDIT: I called them up on their support line and they honored the UK deal over the phone even though they confirmed the US site doesn't offer it.

Amazon appstore apps in the uk?

Hope can I download these please? Is there a way around not being in the US?
Thanks

Don't think so.. i want swiftkey x for free though.. damn US -.-
Hope that it'll come to Germany soon aswell... Anyway it's not that costumer friendly policy Amazon should go towards...
I think it's similar to the AmAzon mp3 service, they allow free storage of music on the cloud over there, but here in the uk, you don't get that priillage and although you may be able to manually install the amazon app store, it's impossible to install apps due to the country limitations coming from your amazon account believe, as I have tried myself and it won't work, maybe searching google for the app's .apk file name may get what you want by other means.
For now the store is only open in US..
As far as I understand they have plans to open the store in other countries too..
We just have to wait
I believe there is a workaround for this, unfortunately the forum where I read about it is currently down. I'll look into it.
I remember trying to get Angry Birds Rio when the appstore had judt opened. I was so sad when I realised it was US only. It then came out on Android marketplace and then I was filled with joy!

[Q] App edits, ie. ad removal, checks.

I saw a thread that someone had removed the ads from the ad free versions of angry birds. ab: seasons.
I was wondering if it is possible to remove the check or verification that some apps do, specifically with the amazon app store. i want angry birds rio, plants vs. zombies and peggle...but Im curious as to whether or not the check can be removed so that the amazon app store can be removed from the device.
thanks!
You only got those apps free as they are tied to the Amazon app store via promotion. If you want those apps to be non Amazon dependant pay for them in the Android market. The developers work hard making apps that you either should pay for or they provide them for free to you because the ads pay for it. You wonder why the Android market will never be as good as the Apple Appstore? Its because of cheapskates trying to cheat the system so the developers don't end up getting paid. Who wants to develop apps for a market that doesn't make them money?

I want the apps I bought to run without needing the amazon app store installed.. not looking for free products. apple appstore is NOT better than the market as the market is not better than the appstore...pirates exist in every community.
Trust me, I spent a lot of money last night on apps I want to be independent of amazon but there are four or so that aren't on the market. I also buy apps that I won't even use solely to support the dev...latest example would be hidden lock pro by marinelli.tv, I'll never use it but I bought it cause its a cool app and to support xda devs.

I apologize for jumping on you if you truly are paying for the apps. Its just there are countless people who come here asking to do the same and their intentions are clearly to cheat the system.
If you wanted apps independent of the Amazon App store then you shouldnt have purchased them from there. You should have known they would be tied to the store you bought them from(was one of the biggest complaints about the Amazon App Store BTW)....... And yes, Apples App store is far better than Android Market when it comes to developers making money.

Well the times I wanna play games and such the most are the rare times I have no service. It happened the other night, so I was seeking a solution. I think it's silly that we have to be signed in to the amazon app store to use the apps. What of gps apps?
No big deal but I wanna see amazon lose exclusivity on some titles.

An Amazon appstore drm token is good for one month. The apps will work offline. They only need to access the internet to get a new token after it has expired. If you want to force the token to refresh, set the system date to more than a month in the future and open the app. Not all of their paid apps are drm'ed, though. It's up to the individual developer.

Its not rid at all compare it to the size of any modern shooter on windows and its a fraction of the size. Those fancy textures take A LOT of space.
Of course its going cheap, gameloft will be making plenty of cash selling on your phone number and email address as well as what type of phone you are using and who knows what else. Anyone read the permissions this game requires? It should be called modern espionage!
I don't really like to controls, with the display divided into two parts it doesn't really work for me. But in general it's a nice game.

read it. didn't see anything to set off the alarm.
lot of that is to prevent piracy, checking licence and such.
anyway, only thing I don't like about the game right now is the long loading time... good grief. I don't remember the loading time being this long on MC2.
"read phone state and identity".... This means the ability to collect your number and use it however they want. None of this prevents piracy... Trust me!

part of that is so if you get a phone call in the middle of your game, you receive it...
other part is to check licence.
doesn't mean they are collecting to sell.
Oh ok, but i wouldn't be happy giving out my IMEI or IMSI number to anyone. I am just very wary of a developer who, after making a game on par with something available for, say, the PSP, be "giving it away" for 99 cents?

if you notice, most of the games, if not all, have that permission. big chunk of regular apps too.
it's not just Gameloft.
99cents sale was just that, a special New Years sale. notice they only did it for one day for MC3 since it's a brand new game.
I wouldn't read into it too much.
Only see 2 for 99 cents, 3 is still 6.99
Genius... It takes another 15 minutes to download additional data, even on wifi, so there is no way to get a refund.
it was at .99$ for only 24h, now I guess it's back at its original price

{Off topic} Why do people pirate apps?

It really annoys the hell out of me when people like to do so called *cracking apps* when they don't even know that is. Cracking means modifying the source code illegally and using the app for free which would otherwise cost money. You ARE NOT cracking it. You are STEALING it. The developers are working day-night just to make couple of cents but you on the other hand pirating it.
Just go outside and have a deep thought about it. You are willing to spend $50 easily on shopping, whereas, you don't even pay a dime for all the hard work the dev do it for you. It is just stupid. If you found a dollar on the road you wouldn't pick it, but where it comes buying $1 app you google it day and night all day long. I am not a dev but I do understand how it's like. So please please for god's sake stop piracy.
Go go sopa! or not?
Its because they are cheap and don't understand or care that it takes a lot of time and money to develop apps.
In many cases of free apps I wish there was a way to donate to the developer as I hate using something for free that I feel I should pay for.

Faith in humanity: lost
There is already an off topic thread, why did you create a new one? It's just cluttering up the forum, and unnecessary, since your subject is a small matter and not worth a thread.

Back when I was in school I used to get the cracked apps. Being cheap? No. No debit card nor would parents allow me to use their cards for purchase.

Don't think this is an issue in the large scale. I don't know anyone who would waste his time searching for a cracked app instead of paying one or two bucks for the few apps you want and need to pay for.

To test for a greater time than 15 mins would justify a bit of searching. PowerAMP got it right back in the day. Something like 2 weeks full version trial then you must purchase. Still the best buy I've had on Android.

If you really wanted the app, you would have got the free version. I am sure that you looked for something like " how to get paid apps for free?"
There no access to credit card nor charge cards or whatever cards. So they have to use cracked apps.

Maybe im wrong but i think that at a large scale it doesn't affect developers so much ..

For me the situation is quite different.
I have been stealing apps (yea, i don't affraid to admit it, but im not brave of it). Then i decided to start buying them and supporting developers (bought Cerberus and couple other).
It's maybe my problem, but im affraid to provide my credit card numbers to websites such as google wallet to let them pull the money they want. The paypal here was solution, i could charge my paypal account, so they didn't knew anything about my credit card and it was safe. BUT then wild Google Wallet appeared and there's no such option. No money transfer, no transfer from paypal, i have to provide numbers on back of my credit card. If someone in google goes mad, with the provided cc numbers he can pull as much money as he want. I know it sounds riddiculous, but I like safety. I can't relly on their good will, that thay won't abuse it.
So i stopped buying apps, as there is no way to put money on my account.
I use cracked apps just to check if they are worth the money. I treat them as demo. If I like it I buy it.Cheers

I have no problem purchasing apps, but I do know that aside from the credit card issue, many games and apps just aren't available on playstore in many countries, these are great apps and games and I don't see a reason why they shouldn't be available everywhere, maybe we should look to the causes of many people's pirated apps.

I have to use Market ebabler, and droidVPN so I could view all of the apps on play store.
This is insane!
I've spand 100-200$ for android apps.
I'm with android since 1.5 back in 2009.
Some apps are simply overpriced and I have to find a solution does the app deserve the money, and for that reason I google it to find it for free, just for testing.

There are such things as prepaid credit cards. Just a hint. As an alternative some markets (not Google Play) accept also paypal etc.
Google Play with paypal, at least 20% of us will start buying apps.
I dont use many apps on my android, so buying few apps is not a problem for me. bank in in about RM10 ( 3USD+- ) on my account, and bought apps. Im a student thou. Other than that, I often buy iPad apps, even thou I jailbreak it. Jailbreak for me is only for tweaking. I even bought paid cydia apps. Same goes to my android, root/unknown source/s-off or what so ever, I dont support piracy.
Have the kaching to bought devices/gadgets but dont have the kaching to buy apps? what say you.

this is riddiculous! you don't feel safe to trust google wallett, but you'd trust paypal!!! there's no differencies between those two. they are both corporate giants, if you're paranoid trust neither. or better, don't be paranoid.
