Thank you for your post.
This new phone is actually different from Galaxy Nexus, especially UI.
It is because Sharp made new UI for it, which is User Friendly.
There is also setting something called "long-lasting battery mode".
This setting is really useful.
If you need more info, i will give it to you, guys.
How do you know "Sharp, is planning to sell this new Android 4.0 phone to all over the world" and "China gets this Android 4.0 mobile phone."
Is there any official schedule or declarement?
I like this phone so much, but I think I cannot wait any longer...

I really like the look of this phone, especially the waterproofing features (using the phone in a bath, anyone?!), and the only thing that turns me off is the lack of camera flash (and the cramming of 12mpx into the sensor) - poor quality photos, but more importantly, no torch functionality at night (which is a common use for my HTC Desire).
I've been doing a lot of reading to see if it can be rooted, or what the likelihood of an exploit is. I don't have one to play with, so I have no idea if it supports ADB out of the box, or what version of the Linux kernel is running (and if it is susceptible to the exploit CVE-2012-056) - it would be interesting to be able to play with one. Has anyone else heard any information on this front?
help me.
i need room 4.0.3 for Softbank 104SH
thank all

These phones run MTK and Windows Mobile, what is MTK?

I wouldn't mind having that handset, in terms of its design anyway! Dpad and numpad combined, not too bad!

Was that a question at the audience? At the site, MTK is said to be a company making chips (for dopod presumably). But by the look of the touchscreen (note the 5 touch areas) I would guess that's the popular Chinese handset interface (nothing special there though, will find a review if anyone's interested).
it's very popular in china, because the price is good for the customers, any other companies could release the PPC phone as cheap as this one?it seems none!
I would get one too ...
I does not quite understand the overpricing of the HTC products ...
as we can all see customer support sucks ...
after all who will give 800 euros for a TyTN 2 (Tilt)?
osavioro,u have to know, such as HTC these big company, they got a huge profit on phone, then release a huge price for the customers, they r JS(JS=奸商=profiteer),we must refuse them,go ahead
Actually I got my t-mobile wing at $135 which isn't that much more than this one. (The sales person at the T-mobile counter gave me a price break after a half an hour debate on the phone. lol)
wow,henrynhl,really?haha.pretty nice.

it's cool。
Anyone have a link to more about this phone? Googling "Shanzai" brings up this thread and nothing else related to phones, and www.m8cool.com (as seen in the photo) doesn't exist.
www.m8cool.com exists ... not that I've been able to extract any particular information from it
Soooooooo where can you buy one?
That link takes you to a page but you can't buy one there.
This looks like it might be fun to play with.
Did some searching and found this:

Its Not $99.00 -- more like $150.00 and then shipping from China. Gets pretty expensive.

guys check this site out for chinese handsets there very cheap for British & Europeans, however prices go up alot when I select U.S. dollars so I guess they not much use for our American brothers

I just got back from China and they had quite a few phones like this but they were all quite a bit more expensive.
However, everything is China is MARKED very high. Doesn't mean you pay alot.

Im coming from a HTC Desire Z aka G2, and it got water damage and is toast.
this phone seems like a likely competitor to my savy qwerty texting habits and has all the right features in the right place. 8 mp camera, 720p recording, a good processor and is quad band including 3g? thats awesome!
what are your thoughts on this phone? it is due around end ofsummer, Will it be available for Rogers in Canada? any honest feedback is appreciated, the phone seems awesome but i tend to overlook minimal things.
Whats your thoughts?
more info at

and now since the bootloader is apparently going to be shipped unlocked, the modding community would be huge.

The bootloaders aren't shipped unlocked. But SE will provide you with an unlocking code for free.
The only point to bear in mind is that only handsets that are SIM-unlocked/un-branded can have their bootloaders unlocked. So basically if you purchase directly from a network, you'll be stuck with a locked bootloader (as things stand, obviously someone could work out how to crack it by the time the Pro goes on sale).
As for the modding community being huge, it's pretty quiet for the Arc and the Play at the moment.
The handsets have been rooted a couple of different ways but developing Recovery for them is slow going and there are no custom ROMs yet.
There simply doesn't seem to be much interest from devs.
Personally, It's not my thing, Although nice none the less, One thing I really don't like though is the grid keyboard which I find hard to type on, Might just be me though
Anything under a 4" screen is a non starter for me. Xperia is a nice phone but they are slow and not so much development for it. But then, that's just me
I'd be wary of SE phones. I have an X10 and its a little bit of a let down. SE's custom firmware is sketchy to say the least and there update schedule is terrible. The X10 was SE's first android phone and they seem to be listening and learning from this customer's, hence the X10 2.3 update that was announced recently, but I'd be very wary. Test the phone out at a store of something for a bit and see how you like it. Perhaps SE has really improved with their latest phone.
Lessons have already been learnt with the likes of the Arc and the Play, which would be a much more reasonable basis for any opinion of the Pro as they're essentially all the same handset with subtle tweaks to the hardware.
SE have drastically overhauled their custom UI so that it impacts less on firmware updates and, unlike the X10, have launched their new handsets with the latest version of Android as opposed to being out of date from day one.
Probably a question beaten to death on this forum over the last year, but need some advice.
Am in NZ and can order the phone from here
http://www.mobicity.co.nz/samsung-galaxy-s2-hd-lte-e120s.html
Have spoken to people in NZ about getting this over the standard S2, Nexus and the Note. However the HD just seems to combine all of the above into one great package. Good camera, great screen, size and 1.5ghz Dual Core what's not to love?
My reason for asking is, will I be disadvantaged through lack of support being in New Zealand?
As I doubt we will see an OTA update to 4.0 EVER, is the phone easy enough to root and upgrade to ICS without worry about OTA?
Anything further you can supply to eleviate my fears is greatly appreciated and again sorry for rehasing this no doubt tiresome question.
We most certainly will get OTA ICS...

Even in little ole NZ?
Now, tell me, is that phone I linked to in my OP the same dam phone? lol
The Samsung E120 isnt the same phone as the Skyrocket as the E120 was only released in South Korea/International. I'm guessing the US version for ATT would be Skyrocket HD which will have similar stats as the Skyrocket with the 720p resolution. Not sure if that will release since Galaxy 3 is pretty much coming. As for being in NZ I doubt that would be a disadvantage, of course to utilize the 4G LTE you need to be in that area.
As for OTA updates, if they do have any then you can download them via WiFi, heck I'm paying $20/month for data plan for only 300mb on my phone of course I'll get the update via WiFi lol as those updates aren't that small .
As for Samsung Galaxy SII phones in general, yes they are easy to root and update to ICS, of course that also comes with the great support developers have in making it easier for us. So I'm not entirely sure the support for that specific phone if there is a community behind it but if they did an OTA update it should be fairly easy to get.

Just remember - Vodafone in New Zealand (and I assume Telecom is doing it now too) is using 900 MHz for 3G to expand their network. This is happening in some rural areas where there is little to no 2G coverage. What this means, is since these phones ONLY support 900 MHz for 2G, you get no service in these outlying areas where there is only 900 MHz 3G coverage... I found this out the hard way recently with my HTC Nexus one...
I was a little hesitant at first but when I was able to get the phone for 0$, I jumped in. Big incentive. The 4.5" screen is great. A 5.3" NOTE screen would be nice as well but not available for 0$, maybe next year.
After using the phone for a couple of months I am pleased with the hardware. One quibble worthy of note that has never been mentioned is the lack of video stabilization when recording in HD. I had to purchase a tripod/mono-pod setup that would allow me to shoot some stable video. Don't let this be a deal breaker. Remember, this is just a friggin' phone! Any serious video should be shot using a dedicated camcorder. Overall, a good device.

WOW
this is not even a phone prototype ,just a few images running in loop. good screen tech though, i love flexi
OP is exercising wishful display thinking.
That's just to show off the flexible display, not a prototype S4, if it was they would have announced it at the same time.
I love the technology of flexible displays but I just can't see the benefits in this prototype. Seems like it's being added to the phone because they can.

It's cool, granted, but I doubt it's the Galaxy S IV. Surely they can't link this to the S range; it's a completely new design. It should be called the Galaxy Flex (maybe I should get that trademarked?)! Unless Samsung are as stupid as Apple are with their naming conventions?

yes, i would still say its not a phone prototype, to call it as a phone prototype you need atleast a few more thing demoed along with the screen. the screen protype shown dont even run on a OS, its just a few frames of pictures looping inside the flexi display unit.
Scratch that – it's essentially a digital picture frame, which cycles through various images showing what the display can do and isn't running any sort of mobile OS. It's also lacking essentially everything else: camera, radios, and most other hardware features. This is very, very much a prototype to display one potential use of this sort of curved display.

So I just saw this article about the Vertu TI - that will cost approx $10,700.
Starts at 7,900 euros, or about $10,700
Specs:
TI a 3.7-inch touchscreen,
a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 processor,
and an 8-megapixel camera.
There’s also NFC and 64GB of internal storage, plus a front-facing webcam.
Clearly the reporters don't know much because they stated that it is Up-to-date with the OS running ICS
"Luckily, Vertu is mostly up-to-date on Google’s OS. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is installed and it’s smooth and speedy:"
According to reports " the TI is gorgeous, understated, and elegant, while remaining purposeful and unique"
Honestly I think it looks hideous. Esp with that price for the phone it better be made of gold.

I agree. For the price, it seems to fall short on a lot of aspects. They should at least provide something worth the cash (equal to the specs of a mid-high end computer) rather then attempting to exploit people :/
Vertu again? Oh I remember those days when they modified and tried to sell some obscenely overpriced Nokia back in the days when nokia ruled.
Silly ... And by the way, this one here looks kinda ugly and those buttons look really cheap.
