I was on the phone with my b2b rep about another phone account when she told me that her system advised they have a new skyrocket coming out tomorrow...after explaining to her that the phone had been out for a while now, she read the actual alert...the alert said that they are pushing an update tomorrow (2/29/12).
Hopefully they push it and it actually works this time.

I've heard of this problem before and its an error on ATT's part. Give them a call and they can reset your sim or something similar to help correct this. I have ukk1 but haven't experienced any problems with texts.

Just got off the phone with my ATT rep. (I work for a 3rd party retailer that sells AT&T) He said he knows about the update and that it isnt going to be ICS just a small one to fix bugs and issues "Stock" users (he knows i mod my phone ) are experiencing and that ICS is still TBA.

My wife and I have had some ongoing issues with our Infuse phones and looked into a warranty exchange. I'd be happy with Gingerbread to see if it fixed some of our issues. Well, called the Warranty line and they are trying to tell me Gingerbread is out for the Infuse via Kies. Before I waste my time and download Kies, does anyone know if this is true? If not, I'll call them back and tell them how wrong they are.
Last I used kies was just to put the drivers on my comp. Kies didn't even support the infuse. That's been several months ago though. For some reason I doubt it.

I am an easy going guy so I wont chew them out but I will get to the bottom as to why they will provide me with false information. I know they are trying to prevent an exchange but at least be honest with me.
I am downloading the full KIES and a KIES mini to see if there is any truth to it. They also had me try OTA and as expected, phone is up to date.

I just got off the phone with AT&T...their solution was to send me a reconditioned phone.
That said, I know there are a lot of ROMS out there...which is the best running GB ROM currently?

Cyanogenmod or Infused
actually MIUI is pretty good too.
JordanElliott just quit updating MIUI for the infuse due to ungrateful flashers. Might go with cw7 or infused roms.

I just flashed back to Serendipity yesterday. the only time i had an issue with it was when everything would force close on me.
but its a awesome rom.
I too am using serendipity7. Using it for about two months except for a few test flashes.

Change your clock manually to tomorrow's date. Should work.

I'll probably give it a try after I feed the triplets and flash back to stock. Not willing to risk it with a custom recovery on it.
Does anyone know were the update is stored at when download it ?because when the phone reboots to apply update it takes me to clockwork recovery is there a way to manually apply it ?

Not working for me. In the cache folder is a fota folder that contains a file called fota.status that is only 64 bytes.
My phone hasn't gotten the update and says no new update. Anyone get chance to pull this off they're phone so I can dissect?

Kernels on the s3 seem to be pretty much interchangeable I have noticed. I was using an att kernel and a sprint kernel before we had imoseyon kernel.

He didnt do anything and I dont think he flashed it I just tried and it fails ,I cant even get it extracted to do anything with it lol ,I downloaded it 5 times and same thing

I understand that but its for t-mobile not verizon its not gonna flash with odin it fails I tried it even tho I knew it wouldnt flash

Either way, I couldn't get this upload to work either. Any idea why that is? md5 matched, would reboot once it got to the lockscreen. I wiped everything(system, dalvik, cache, and data) in 4ext and it still didn't work.
Does this happen to anybody else?
Several people over on Rootzwiki are reporting bootloops with the new upload too.

Technically, they have to release source immediately after the OTA goes out, but their lawyers are good enough that it isn't really worth fighting(and we don't really have a right to complain, source isn't needed for the average user). The Linux kernel is under the GPL v2, you are free to read it, and in that document there is nothing documenting a 90 day waiting period. Honestly, HTC is just lazy and will do their own thing. I'd just be happy that they give us source at all. Eventually somebody will fix the camera(possibly before source drops), but it isn't a huge priority(especially since this rom doesn't even load past the lockscreen), and if you really need it that badly, you can dual boot an ICS rom with a gingerbread rom that has a working camera.

OTA Rootkeeper, in the Play Store, may work.

If its doorkeeper doesn't work, you could always just re-root.

Hey i understand it's exiting having the update afterall but maybe just maybe you could have read through the forum, which if you had you would have found there's already a flood with posts about ICS update being released.
Just wanted this place to have more of useful information rather than redundant ones..

Has anyone noticed that games seem to have better graphics now with ICS? The water in the game sprinkle looks much better, and GTA 3 has the trails effect now and the trees no longer have the blocky texture error anymore.
Help please, why I cant update my atrix? I have downloaded 3 times the update and always: system update failed, help please..

Are you still rooted? If so, go to /cache/recovery/last_log and open with a text editor to see what it says about the fail..

Just wanted to pass along I installed the update while still rooted.
I have the registered superuser app and had outdated binary notification, temp unroot and ota survival checked

That's a new one.. never saw that issue before. Not really sure what advice to give... maybe it just takes a long time - is it still hanging there?

Yes it still hangs since 30 minutes. The artix gets quite warm
@alteredlikeness I dont know if this is the problem: failed to stat 'system/app/browser.apk' No such file or directory

To be honest I dont remember, I think deleted, what can I do?
Finally! I am completely stock OTA 2.3.6, so tonight's the night. Fingers crossed.
