Can I unlock this phone for other carriers?

Like is their a program out to unlock it or do I have to to those websites and give them the imei

Rooting will give you an unlocked sim, if thats an option for you.

And on "Other", you only got T-Mobile USA, which will only give you EDGE speeds.

My phone is already rooted.. I'm running the sense 3.0 ROM... So does that mean my phone is unlocked... I plan on selling to some one who is on tmobile

My Inspire is unlocked, achieved it from rooting. i am currently using H2O Wireless SIM and 50$ a month unlimited plan, the service is great! although its not unlimited data, 100mb of data a month, but i usually only use WIFI for all my data so thats ok with me, but there is another option, its called Simple Mobile, Unlimited EVERYTHING and up to 4g speeds in some areas for 60$ a month, its a GSM chip so it can be use in an unlocked HTC Inspire... im thinking of switching to simple mobile from H2O wirelss for the unlimited data.... although my area doesnot support 4g speeds yet :*( they have a coverage map on the website that shows where their 4g speeds are covered

As long as you put in you apn settibgs correctly on your inspire and you should be good!!you need that companys apn settingss for their internet and mms service!

LTE data not working

I got a new skyrocket off of craigslist (no contract) and I put my sim card from my inspire 4g in the phone. It does not work. On the sim it says 3g, if that means anything in terms of a sim.
Why does it not work in my ATT Skyrocket phone?

You need a 4g/LTE sim card... Call AT&T and make sure your plan is updated.. They have to do something on their end for your AT&T SR to receive LTE.

I dont want to update my plan. Your not very helpful.

you need a lte sim card and the plan on your account to get lte data and speeds. there's no way around it.

Wrong.
Just call AT&T, and ask for LTE unlimited (if you have unlimited data right now), and they'll provision your account correctly.

Register the phones imei with ATT. Call 611 and update it.
Google is your friend.

No... it's an AT&T smartphone, give it a few hours, and they'll automatically slap on a tiered plan if your trying to do the medianet thing.

I have a 3g smartphone plan.

i work for AT&T you totally need a new SIM card (9th and 10th digits needs to be 25) and the LTE data plan, if you have unlimited you can keep it.
but you WILL need to change these for it to work properly.

Is it unlimited? If they switch you to a 4G LTE plan, it'll be completely fine, you can still swap to the Inspire and get data, just it will work with LTE.

Really? Nice attitude after you ask for help... told you strait up what you need. If you can get AT&T LTE without lte sim, pls let all of us know.

Um, you can and will be throttled on you're current phone and plan if you use to much data,its not just for LTE phones its for all unlimited users

I had to get a new sim. Still kept my plan the same.

Do I need an old phone to get a new sim card thereby preventing them knowing about my skyrocket when I activate the new sim?

Keep us posted. User experience/posts reflect the new sim alone results in continued connectivity inconsistency on lte phones. Eventually you may have to have them change your plan to an LTE plan. This change does not affect you plan pricing btw...think of it as a plan, with little check marks below it that enable features and they need to enable lte for consistent connectivity

I went to att to get a new sim card, they activated it and the code on the side of the sim ends in #29 not #25 as a previous poster mentioned as being a lte sim card. They said it was a lte card but I am not sure.
I put the sim in the skyrocket and I get no lte.
Did they lie and say the card was lte but it really wasn't. What do I do?

Are you in a LTE area?
Just cause u got a LTE sim doesn't guarantee u LTE service in a non LTE area

The rep told me that a non lte sim will not even get reception in the skyrocket. I asked because I had the captivate and attempted to insert that sim in the skyrocket. I am not in an lte area yet my 4g icon is always on.

Why my Skyrocket not getting LTE signal?

Ok so i bought the black Skyrocket of the street, I reset it and everything works fine except no data no matter what i do so finally i made a new apn with cm7 defaults and bam i see 4g so i been happy untill today when i walked in my local AT&T to check the tablets i noticed a skyrocket with 4g lte on the the data sign i didnt ask at&t personnel in fear of loosing my old data plan that thankfully has not yet raised any red flags. I checked the apn and noticed that it was the same as mine except mine doesn't show Lte no matter what i do is mine defective?how can i get 4g lte? is it imei based or need a special sim? also both are on 2.3.6

You have to subscribe to an LTE plan. So you're going to have to talk to your carrier, or see if you can get them to give you a deal on another plan.

i thought it had to do with the lte capable phone and unlimited data sim. so lte data service is something you have to sign up for no matter what? maybe its just a new sim is what i need? im goin put my sim back in my captivate and tell them it some how got misplaced that way i just get a new sim and hopefully it does the trick. more advice would be appreciated

Yes it is, but it doesn't cost extra. You shouldn't see any extra charges on your account. It's just a different data plan that allows LTE access.

Just bring the Skyrocket into your AT&T store and they'll activate your phone with a new SIM while adding the LTE data plan and visual voicemail if you don't already have it.

No need, SIM cards are free. Just do what I stated above.

The other thing is that was not mentioned in the responses .. If you have the grandfathered Unlimited Data plan (Gold Card) .. you can still keep that when subscribing to a new LTE Data Plan.
I originally had the Unlimited from an old iPhone 3GS .. kept it through ALL my transitions to different phones.
Just call AT&T .. they will take care of it for you.

[Q] Need help please. No data connection using SIM from my Sams Infuse

I bought the AT&T Samsung galaxy II skyrocket and put in my SIM card from my AT&T Samsung Infuse 4G. I can make calls and text but no data connection. I still have the unlimited data plan.
I know the Skyrocket is an LTE phone and I believe we don't have LTE yet here in South Florida. My Infuse is always on H+ connection in my area.
Is there any settings on Skyrocket or anything I can do to make it work?

Yees you have to call att and tell them you have a skyrocket. They have to provision your data to wok on it. I went through the same thing takes a 5 min phone call, and they give u an lte plan and fix your data( tell them you want to keep your unlimited data)

Yes you will. It will work in both phone. After you call att and get the skyrocket working

The LTE plan is reversible and will work on the HSPA+ APN, but for some reason, the skyrocket won't get any data (not even HSPA+ if you force it) unless you get their LTE plan (unlimited if you have it).
So yeah, just call them up, and say you want to switch to LTE unlimited, and they'll do it quickly.

Weird but they have to update your account so that you will attempt to use the LTE network. They will probably want to swap the SIM card itself too.

[Q] Any custom rom work with att 3g

Im new to the site and this probably have been answered im trying to see if there is any custom rom that will work with att 3g data. i dont mind if i cant downgrade back or anything was just going to use my sensation as a hotspot.
i have a vibrant on ics rom and it picks up att 3g hspa .
any information will help thanks

Only some will work on att 3g its not phone but must be unlocked I too am leaving tmob they changed contract with out telling me and going to change 3g roaming April 5 th so I am dropping them and selling 3 sensations on eBay may use one on att for now
