Hey guys! I finally got my HTC chacha!
The only problem I have is that I have a standard EU model. So I can't choose Swedish as the phones main language. But I can live with that, that's no problem. The problem is that I wanna use HTC chacha's built in auto correction for when your writing mails and texts, but as you all can tell, it only corrects in english So, what can I do? I just want my Chacha to be able to correct in swedish instead of english. It would be good if the whole phone was in swedish of course, but just the auto correction would be good enoug..
CAN I install a nordic rom instead? If yes, which one is safe to use? I don't wanna pick a random android rom that works in sweden that would screw up my chacha. So a ROM for chacha that are aimed for nordic use would be great.
Please help a brother out!
Love n respect!

Hi everyone
First of all, great forum here, I know it since some time and I'm also using a custom ROM for my Kaiser, but I think this is actually the first time I'm posting.
Let me explain my situation I am from Switzerland (and so is my company, where I am the Cell Phone Fleet Manager). Believe it or not, but in Switzerland, there are four official languages (German, French, Italian, and something called Romantsch which noone speaks).
Problem is that we're going to open an office in the French part of Switzerland (me and the rest of the company are located in the German part). And the employees there obviously would like to have phones.
Now, although they do speak French, they're not using a French AZERTY-Keyboard but a German QWERTZ-Keyboard. However, they want a French OS, and even worse, they want to be able to type all their freaky accents (é, à, è, ç, ...).
Now I checked back with HTC and they do not offer such a phone combinations. I also checked with our cell phone network providers, and they only offer the English phones in the French part... which leads me into trouble. What kinds of phones should i get them?
My idea is to buy German phones (that way I have the QUERTZ-Keyboad layout printed on the phone). Then load the French ROM and then load the German Keyboard driver back onto the French ROM. Question is: Is that possible?
Or do you have any better ideas?
Thanks
final

Any ideas how you can get accents to work on a FUZE keyboard? Someone developed an application that would do what i need, however I don't know how to re-map the SYM key to another one... I don't have it in my keyboard as a standalone key...
not quite sure if it will help.
I just overread the whole thread, but maybe you'll find somthing in there.

Hello every body
i just bought a cruise one month ago, but with a disabled GPS feature because it's not allowed in my country (grrrrrr) and i'm asking if i could enable it with changie the registry with out change the standard ROM to keep the warranty ?????? please help
thank you
Let me guess, Egypt? Or some other ME/NA country?
I am not aware of any other way except for flashing a different ROM. You could try searching the forum to see if there's an alternative method, but changing the ROM is your best bet.
What's the theory behind not letting people use GPS?

I think if you put on a standard WWE rom. Warranty should be fine not so sure though.
Same problem here (yes Egypt)
The problem is If I use a new rom I'm afraid I'll lose the ability of writing Arabic in SMS Which is very important to me. Does any one know of a rom that will use English and Arabic with an open GPS.. Is the version used in the Gulf area ok?
NB: I need my menus and Mobile in English not Arabic. I only need Arabic in writing some notes and in SMS
There are many threads on the forum about Arabizer software. Mobidiv or something. Haven't tried it but many ppl have deployed it on WWE ROMs successfully. Meaning you will have English ROM with menus and everything, but will have the capability to read and write in Arabic. Here's a linke to one such thread:

Hello all
A friend of mine is living in Korea will bring me his new T-Omnia next week. The ROM that comes with it is in Korean and he has some trouble navigating though it as everything is in Korean. I tried to find a WWE ROM for the T*Omnia but got nothing.
Question: is there an easy way to translate the menus and dialogs to English.
It won't be that easy. The T*Omnia is sold only in Korea, so no WWE ROM's exist for it. There are software solutions that can translate the menus in russian or bulgarian but I don't think something similar exists for english as it is the default language if WinMobile If course you can try to hack some other translation of WinMobile (bulgarian for example) and apply it to the T*Omnia but there are still 2 issues:
1. No guarantee that such a solution will work with korean ROM. It's intendet to localize WWE ROM's. On the other hand a friend of mine localized a NL Diamond ROM successfully, so it may be worth a shot
2. The T*Omnia has a (still) non-standart resolution. Just look at the HD compatibility list for problematic apps So this is also a possible issue.
Anyway. Here is the link to such a localization program. It supports a number of languages, so it may be of some help to you.

you could always cook us an english rom- i would love a T*Omnia running english!!!
none of the software in the link seem to have the ability to localize to english
i guess having the ability to simply have the main menus in english is "good enough" untill Samsung releases a WWE version of the rom. if someone can help with that, that would be great.
anybody can help with this?
I second this - I have a sch-m490 could anyone cook an english rom.
Same here, need that rom badly. Anyone please?
BUMP please help with this. Im in korea and i really cant use my phone right now. I couldnt enjoy my omnia. Please please help.
Please guys im so desperate here. Anyone please.
Hi there,
I have been stupid enough to start messing around with my Dutch HTC Magic, from Vodafone, without making a backup first. I bricked it but was able to get it going again, thanks to a link on this forum. I have loaded an original English HTC ROM.
Though both the camera app and the keyboard app are way better than those originally loaded on the phone, I am beginning to be really p.... off with having the dutch words I type be changed into english words and missing the speed benefit of the previous dutch predictive spell check.
Therefore I'd like to install the original Dutch ROM again.
Can anybody here direct me to somewhere where I can get my hands on the original Dutch Vodafone ROM?
Thanks in advance
Jan
Hi guys, this is my first thread in XDA!
Been lurking around a bit though the past couple of weeks and let me point out how amazing this community is!
OK so here is my query (sorry if this has been posted here before):
I'm a Swede, living in Sweden. I've ordered the SNS (my first android device so bare with me) from the USA and it should arrive sometime next week.
I know that the phone doesn't come with any support for the Swedish language. My guess is that they just want to make it harder for retailers to grey import the phone to a region where it shouldn't be sold (even though it will be sold in Sweden soon...).
So, is it possible to add support for the Swedish language somehow? (Keyboard, dictionary, system language...etc).
If so, how do I do it? I've seen some keyboard apps (pre-Gingerbread keyboard) for the Swedish language on the market but some of them don't work with Gingerbread and most of them seem to come with a lot of bugs (except for Swype). Also, I would need a dictionary, and the system language is nice but not crucial.
Isn't there a better way?
Thanks in advance guys!

Hi, a swede with the NSN here as well
To my knowledge, there are no way to get native swedish language support on the stock rom. The "nödlösning", that actualy works quite well is to use a third party keybord. I'm using Swiftkey, that has a swedish dictionary and swedish text prediction.
But if someone know about a way to get a swedish stock gingerbread keyboard, I would be delighted to hear.
Thanks for the reply
I guess I'll have to use either Swiftkey or Swype. If anyone knows another solution I would be happy to hear it
