HI
I am using a transformer with
Build Number: HTK75.CN_epad-8.6.5.1-20111216
I have used Natchoroot to root it and it was ok, everything run smooth by then, after that i downloaded, superuser, Voodooo root keeper which specifies that my transformer is rooted, i also did titanium backup successfully which is also an indication that my device is rooted as far as i can tell
Now that the ICS is already here, i still didnt get the update, however i think it'd take a while to come to china with all the restrictions they put on the device (No maps, No Market, No youtube, No facebook, and you name it)
Anyway i thought it'd probably be a better to just flash a WW version of ICS
but a few minutes ago i tried to download CWM from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346180
And as soon as i try to open it, it tells me that my device is not rootes although like i mentioned before everything indicates that i am rooted because when i open voodoo ota keeper i get the message that it was granted superuser permissions.
So can anyone refer me to other mean to install a CWM ? i've searched the forums but all of the ones i've found are newer version and they all require to already have an older version of CWM
Thanks for your help

This is the Stock 8.6.5.19 US or WW update repackaged for Clockwork mod.
This update DOES NOT:
* Root your device if it's not already rooted
* Install clockworkmod
* Install at all if you aren't rooted
* Install at all if you don't already have clockworkmod.
This update has:
* Clockworkmod support (It does not include CWM, but doesn't reflash the recovery partition either)
* Rooted (includes SuperUser.apk & su 3.0.0)
* Busybox (1.19.2)
This will not work unless you have:
1. clockworkmod
2. STOCK firmware (root is fine)
3. the US or WW firmware
4. firmware 8.6.5.18
If this update will not apply, take note of which assert stopped the process. You probably applied some sort of mod to your transformer.

Tested on my own tf101.
CWM package for ASUS FOTA Update 8.6.5.19 WW

I have not tested this. Let me know if it works, brave soul!
Note that these updates require you to be on 8.6.5.18. If you didn't update to .18 because of the bugs, do that before trying this update.
Applied US version and it was just too darned easy. Usually I have to modify something but this worked first time.
Much thanks, -- Hashi
I'm running revolver, but want to go back to stock rooted and install this. How can I do this? Thanks,
worked
Somehow i lost root after installing this. Cmw is still installed and so is superuser but titanium backup wont work because it says it cannot get root.
Edit: i reinstalled cmw from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18789237&postcount=907 and now it works.
Worked great on my TF with WW.
Many thanks.

This will not work unless you have:
1. clockworkmod
----------Install ClockwordMod Recovery. If already installed skip to step 2
2. STOCK firmware (root is fine)
----------Install stock firmware with or without root. If already installed skip to step 3
3. the US or WW firmware
----------It must be the US or WW firmware. If not install correct firmware listed in step 4
4. firmware 8.6.5.18
---------This is the firmware version it must be. If not then install the correct firmware version.
I beg your forgiveness if this doesn't answer your question. I was just trying to be helpful.
This broke my WiFi. It goes to "Error" after trying to start. Flipping airplane mode on or off doesn't help.
EDIT: Fixed. I hadn't re-installed my OC kernel, so stuff was breaking.
Any ideas?

Worked without any problem on a rooted stock ROM WW model.
Worked for me on WW too, many thanks.
I can confirm that the WW update worked fine for me without any problems, thanks
everything works great except my bluetooth radio won't turn on and when I am docked I get no sound. I haven't tried a full wipe which would be the next step. I had to run a great deal of updates to get to this version so maybe that has something to do with it as well.

I second the wipe. I was initially running Prime and decided to go back to stock due to the numerous FC's I started to get starting apps after a few upgrades. My TF runs nice and smooth after flashing this, no problems with wifi or bluetooth and sound works as it should in my dock. I haven't really noticed any problems at all. And haven't really noticed much of a difference in speed or battery life between this and Prime.
don't suppose 8.6.6.19 WW is out as a flashable CWM zip ?
I got a Zenithink C91 with 4.0(it comes out of the box rooted) on it and i bought the superuser elite settings and downloaded superuser 3 beta 4 and tried to flash it onto my C91. Now when ever i open my root only apps it says my device is unrooted a message i wasn't receiving before i tried to install superuser 3 beta 4. Things i've already tried:
1. Flashing it again
2. Installing the APK instead of flashing
3. taking it back to factory default
4. flashing the original version of superuser onto the device.
As it is right now the device works but i would really like my superuser privileges back. If any of you have any ideas i would be most appreciative.
I have dev tools on it if that helps
Sent from my ZT ICS using XDA
Answer
I found the answer. If anyone else has this problem go to the zenithink website and download the newest updates and flash your device it did the trick for me
I rooted my asus transformer pad tf300t two months ago. Lately my tablet has been promting me about an available update from Asus. I have my doubt about updating my rooted tablet using an official update, so I did a bit of research. And it seems that normally we are adviced to NEVER update directly from a rooted tablet...
Is that true? Do we need to reflash to get rid of the root first before we update?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
1. Remember to get your /system/apps and /system/lib back to stock state before any OTA update.
2. Make sure apps (especially those that came with the stock, however irrelevant e.g. Netflix) have not been frozen / uninstalled with Titanium Backup or other applications. Sometimes some stock apps (even after factory reset) don't match SHA1 sums. Replace modified apks in /system/app to those that originally come with your stock version of tablet as found in About Tablet.
3. You will need a build.prop that hasn't been modified too! Look around to see if you can find one for your SKU.
4. If you have Chainfire 3D installed, you'll have to uninstall the 3D driver, wipe data and cache for the Chainfire 3D app, and uninstall it before update.
In any case, just go for it.
I did that naively. Update failed miserably (worry not, boots back into your pre-update state!). Looked for a way to put the update file manually into /cache partition, update still failed cause of modified/frozen apks.
Added default apks from some dropbox shared link somewhere on these forums, update still failed due to the Chainfire OpenGL driver issue.
On correcting that problem though, update booted to Jelly Bean!
Oh, and if you wish to keep root after update, remember to change Superuser app to SuperSu, then install OTA Rootkeeper from Google Play, save root. Temporary unroot just to be safe (possibly not essential). Then update!
Hi,
I deleted some apps with Root Uninstaller, and now cannot do OTA update.
Is there a way to download stock apps? Om still on 9.4.3.26 firmware back from April, but it is very buggy - crushes all the time - really need to update it. Please let me know were I can find stock Apps
Thanks
I tried to do some digging, but the firmware just looks a bit dated for any meaningful results to show up. A few build.prop dropbox links have been taken down now that it isn't much used. Even the Asus support site doesn't have a US SKU image of the .26.
I guess your best shot may be to try one of the manual upgrades to .29 and then to V10.4.2.9, or to unlock your bootloader. However, I have not done a manual upgrade yet so I wouldn't know the troubleshooting bit. These instructions seem simple though.
I'm currently on 4.0.4 (Canadian version) N8010 and I want to update to 4.1.2 (canadian? not sure if it really makes a difference). I get the notification for the update, but when I select it, it fails, and it also fails with Kies.
When I first got the note I opted for the exynos exploit to root my tablet. I was under the impression that if I disabled root from the app my status would revert back to "non-custom". I've uninstalled exynosabuse and busybox (i think supersu uninstalled with the root disabled) and I've restarted multiple times and waited a few hours. No change. I think I'll try to re-enable root and restore some apps that I froze with titanium backup to see if it reverts back.
The other option I guess would be to get the Canadian rom and flash via Oden. although I think that would wipe by note, which i would like to avoid. I found some links to the canadian rom, but they're down.
Thanks for the help/advice.

I still have the stock rom, I haven't installed anything custom, just use the exploit for the root access.
Build number: IMM76D.N8010WALG4

Without a stock 4.1.2 firmware for your device it looks like you are going to have to do a factory reset to use Kies.
I think your options are limited..........
Have you considered using a firmware from another country?
You know there is a backup program called Helium that does not need root, you may want to consider using it to backup all of your data and then do a factory reset.
I don't know if I have helped you any............
Hi,
I need some help with my tablet. I have the tf300t that I bought while living in China about 3 years ago. When I got it originally, it had I think Honeycomb and later Asus released the ICS. I didn't know before buying it that a chinese tablet would not have the google apps. At the time I found a method to change the SKU and installed the WW package. I was able to upgrade to ICS and then I was able to load the firmware updated manually, until 4.1.1. At that point I could no longer update by placing the file in my sd card. I read somewhere it was because of the partition size.
Anyway, I stopped using the tablet for about a year because I was away for work and now that I started using it again, it was painfully slow. I did some research and unlocked the bootloader, rooted, installed TWRP and upgraded to the latest asus stock, WW_epad-user-10.6.1.27.5.zip
So, after all this, the tablet rebooted and optimized the apps, etc. I was able to upgrade one app, FB, and then it didn't download anything more. This is inside the Play store, it says it's downloading but it's not doing anything.
For instance, I see the maps app needs to be updated and then I tried to be clever and get the apk from my phone. I copied it to the sd card but ES file explorer says that it can't be parsed.
I also tried to update the superSU and gave me many install errors. I tried to root again using the motochopper and it fails. I would like to upgrade further but first I need the root to work. And also in case I can't, at least the apps I would like that are installed could continue to update normally.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
