Flashing Bloat Remover - T-Mobile LG G2x

Can someone explain to me how to run the bloat remover included in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179748&highlight=bloat
on a G2x. I've already installed the ROM and just need to figure out how to remove all the T-Mobile stuff. Thanks in advance

Do a search for. Bloater *Root* or browse the app section for a thread called Bloated G2x edition, it works great and IMO is going to be safer than a flashable zip to remove bloat, save for wifi calling.

I use Antek app manager its free and you can freeze all the apps you don't want simple to use
Pin it to Win it.

Use Romanbb's bloater app, it can be found under the Apps/Themes section of the G2x forum.

It really doesnt matter which rom you choose. If it doesnt have what you are looking for you can just add in what you want from the original apk's that are posted here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051812
Just look for a rooted Stock ROM.
Just extract the apks and install them on whatever rom you want.

Extracting and installing the APK's I want sounds perfect. The problem is I'm a Noob. I've used ROMs a lot on my old Vibrant and Nexus 1. But I dont have a clue how to extract a APK from my phone.
Download them from the market

[MOD] Remove HTCLoggers and all associated files from any ROM

Not gonna bore ya too much.
Here's the file: http://www.multiupload.com/PNIVVGPEBZ
Should work for HTC EVO 3D too.
Here's an article with more info: http://www.goodandevo.net/2011/10/how-to-easily-protect-your-htc-evo-by-removing-htcloggers.html
Enjoy
Great work swagstr, thanks. I removed the logger stuff by TIbackup, but I'm not sure I got everything. This should solve that for me.
Thanks man, I was wondering exactly what files had to be removed lol
thanks for this!
Is loggers the only one dangerous? I know the how to I used had me delete like a dozen files and then the boot.Img mod which you helped me with. Your script only takes care of the logger stuff.
Can it be done via root explorer
my blazed up 4g
Yeah theres a lot more then just that. Treve has a nice article to read in the 3D section, it goes real deep into the jar files and everything
ok, so i didn't use this method but i did remove the loggers (via root explorer). now my phone constantly asks me to choose between the sense launcher & go launcher ex? i check to make go launcher my default & it still does it. anybody else? advice?
thanks.
p.s. i also get the htc.loggers force close pop-up occasionally...that's normal, right?
thanks for this!
If we're running an AOSP ROM like CM7, aren't the offending files already removed?

Exactly why I haven't touched this thread in awhile. TrevE is the man when it comes to this stuff. Plus, the latest OTAs for OG EVO and EVO 3D removed HTC Loggers.
Was loggers the hotspot snitch?

I've heard about this tool but I've never used it. Seems a bit complicated in that you have to flash stuff before flashing rom, and after. Also once you run the program everything is gone completely. I like having control using root explorer to either move or delete the files that way if something does go wrong I just add it back onto my phone and change the permissions. Maybe it's just a lack of knowledge.

Hi,
It's a lot easier than it seems, and speeds the installation process up.
Perhaps , it's not for everyone, but the [OP] stated removing bloatware ,which it does in seconds.
It takes a while to configure the initial user text file, but once you have done it, you don't ever have to do it again.
And you only have to run it once after flashing the ROM.
It takes 30 seconds to run.
How do I know which particular bloatwares to remove? I'm new to android. Less than a week old.

Hi,
Have a look at what is included in a basic ROM,by looking at THIS USER TEXT FILE.
You will also see guide alongside it showing what each one does.
Make sure you have notepad++(google it).
I have tried all I can but still can do the bloatware removal. I have rooted, enabled SU and I have installed root explorer but I don't know what to do now. The root explorer gives make access to the ROM but I don't know what to remove and how to remove it.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
Root explore goto system/app then remove what you want.be careful though don't remove anything bad
Nexus S 4G using miui.us with matr1x kernal 9.0 and batttweak RC1
I have a Motorola Photon and I want to keep the diagnostic app for Sprint and the voicemail app, and I want to get rid of the camcorder beep sound everytime I start and close the program. Any input would be appreciated, thank you.

[Q] Building my own (basic) ROM? Is that even possible if I am only human?

Hi.
I was wondering if I can build my own ROM if I am a layman.
What I would like is to simply take the STOCK ROM, remove everything I don't like about it (basically some apps), add to it some apps that I must have, my own preferred launcher and... that's it!
Is this something very complicated?
Thanks
Well when i used to do them back in the day for windows mobile we called it a kitchen and you used that particular software to add your apps and etc to cook a rom and you became a chef but i think the politically correct term is dev now. Lol jist poking fun devs
Modaco custom kitchen might help but might just be for the P990 though. If you cant find a kitchen that is specifically for us then its probably out of reach for beginners. I would just nandroid your stock and backup specific apps with titanium.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
thank you!
what's nandroid? is it like doing a system image?
Basically but not quite... It backs up the rom and kernel but third party apps are not. those will have to be redownloaded or re-installed with titanium.
Paid apps will be remembered by google so it will be on your list of bought apps.

But isn't this the same as just re-flashing the rom then?
sorry just trying to figure this out since it's first time ive heard of it
Yes and no.. If your rooted and removed system apps or bloatware they wont be included if you hard reset or reflash as you call it.
You should nandroid before you remove anything. Rooting allows you to add or remove mostly anything you don't want

This is good stuff!!!
So what app would you use to remove the unwanted bloatware???
Best all purpose would be titanium backup... Grt the paid version to support the dev
Remember if yiu unistall the bloatware like tmo "my account" it won't be there if you hard reset. When in doubt freeze it instead.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Fyi, Modaco kitchen *is* only for the P990, those roms won't work on the P999.
Essentially, you open the update zip, change what you want, put it back together and flash it. From there, anytime you want to do something, just search google/xda for what you want to do and see if you can find instructions. More advanced changes will require you learn things like editing APK files (APK Multi Tool is useful here) or XML and even Smali files. I've even had to have a go at editing SQL files for a couple of things (such as removing the Tracfone homepage and adding locale support).
Really it's an open-ended can of worms ...
Sometimes the best thing is to modify your EXISTING install instead, if you don't plan on uploading/sharing. You can always make a backup via Nandroid if you mess up that you can restore.

There was a link floating around somewhere. I've got it bookmarked on my laptop but I have no access to it right now. :/ Just Google for safe to remove Samsung apps or similar. If not, I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction.

Debloating will not make your phone faster or yield a better battery life rather than just disabling apps in "All apps" section in Settings/Application
If you go under devlopment section and than search for dev Mohan, you will find that he has a stock, dexoxed, zipalign rom allready for you to flash via cwm or whatever recovery u have. This is the best method to debloat properly. Here is the link...
