[Q] Official O2 branded firmware for S2 ? - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I am searching for latest O2 branded firmware but as Multiupload and other hosting sites are down now. Can someone please help me to get this latest firmware. Kies in my computer also shows me a new firmware but when I update with Kies, it does all the process of downloading and installing but after the 100% completion it reaches back to the same state showing a newer version is available.
I will be grateful for any help either by giving me any link to download the latest branded firmware of o2 or to help solving Kies problem.
p.s. I have tried samfirmware.com and also Check Fus but those firmwares are corrupted and they stuck in the middle of installation.

This is a version RC1. In March would officially
http://www.sammobile.com/

Thank you Seryeo but as I mentioned in my previous post that the firmware which is available at SamMobile is perhaps corrupted as when I run it at Odin it stucks in the middle and then I have to flash my mobile again with the older firmware otherwise my mobile stops working.

[Q] How to update using firmware from Sammobile?

I currently have an N8010 running XXALGC. Someone on here pointed out there is a new German firmware on Sammobile (4.0.4 before anyone gets excited), I am hoping this will fix some of wireless issues. I am downloading the zip as we speak N8010XXALI3_N8010OXAALI3_DBT.zip
Once it has downloaded do I just flash it through CWM or is there another process for firmware from Sammobile?
Never mind found it

Had a similar issue yesterday when I tried to update my rooted 5.0.2 to an official 5.1.1. I have used ODIN many times before since SGS3, and back then you were able to mix your system image from other regions, but that apparantly has been locked down by Samsung. Now you can only update an official version of the rom if it exactly matches your existing region. Because you updated your SK international S6 and tried a region set rom from Czech it most likely failed towards the very end of flash with "FAIL".
Your options are: 1) you download the 5.1.1 version for your region in ODIN format from SAMMobile or 2) you use Smart Switch and let it do it for you - in this case you will need to know the SN of your phone as it is used for verification.
Samsung has locked down the serial number with the regions that come with it. So if you have to install, you should update it or use same region odin file. There is a way to break this chain if you are rooted and some additional files are being used in the odin but I am not completely sure as I have not tried it yet. But there are chances that you may void your warranty if you try that or the worse hard brick as it can sometimes change your serial number if not used properly. but I wouldn recommend that. I'll let you know once I understand the usage correctly.

Flashing stock rom with odin / sw rev. fail

Hi, I recently tried to get my phone unlocked. I watched the guy do it, he flashed an older modem and then flashed a UAE firmware.
My original is O2 UK, and I'd like to revert to this firmware as the About Device section shows up with Unted Arab Emirates and the mobile networks section shows LTE rather than 4G.
I have tried flashing the latest revision of the O2 stock rom and odin fails attempting to write sboot.bin with the error message SW Rev. fail (I don't recall the exact numbers after this) appearing on the phone.
I am guessing this is the secure boot loader, which I am aware you can't downgrade, but is there any way of flashing this stock rom since I know it is compatible with the phone?
Try to flash G920FXXU5DQA7 (CSC code:BTU)

You could possibly use smartswitch if you have the serial number of the phone which would download the default firmware that the phone came with if odin fails again
Yes i agree, smartswitch could be your best option.
Thanks for the suggestions. Tried Smart Switch, same error. It appears on the phone as sw rev. check fail.
What exactly is the problem here? Is it that the installed firmware has a newer bootloader than the most recent O2 firmware? In which case is there any way around it?

Yeah looks like this is a bootloader issue, it won't let you install a firmware which contains an older bootloader, only thing I can is to download the latest non branded UK firmware and see if that flashes.
I'm getting this error too with Device 4 Binary 3 but i didn't find the right firmware yet
I hope in Nougat release

Sammobile is under maintenance right now and there are no mirrors reasonably fast... 8 hours for a download.
Anyway update is coming these weeks, I'll wait

Samsung updated their bootloaders to 4XX in September/October so you cant flash back an older one or downgrade,so the only solution you have is to flash the new one which is 5XX released this year.
Flashed the latest UK revision (not the O2 branded one) and it worked
