I am posting this because I am almost done with porting my touch recovery and wanted a how-to on how to actually flash it.
Download these files:
Odin: http://www.box.com/s/7tmrzyn0e5svjz8j8o85
ClockworkMod Touch Recovery: http://www.box.com/s/3uq15kb3f2koq37bosep
Samsung Drivers: http://bandbinnovations.com/xda/skyrocket/Samsung_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1_3_2200_0.exe
1) Unzip Odin3-v1.85.zip
2) Open the 'Odin3 v1.85.exe' file
3) Install samsung drivers
4) Put phone in download mode by powering off and holding volume up + volume down while plugging the phone into the computer
5) You should now see the first square in Odin turn yellow and say "Ready"
6) Click on the pda tab in Odin and select the recovery.tar.md5 you downloaded
7) Click start and wait for your phone to reboot
8) Done!
Be sure to read this before flashing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472954
I just used the Rom manager app to flash it. Worked perfect.
That's T-Mobile's CWM. He built this one for the skyrocket

Yeah i missed the touch part too. Thats cool.
im going to post how-to pictures or maybe a how-to video tutorial on the exact process of flashing my touch recovery once its done.
Flashed the new recovery through odin. worked perfectly thanks!

If you're like me, you don't like having to pull your battery out to reboot your phone. When having problems with Odin I hate having to pull my battery out to simply reboot it when commands like "adb reboot" have spoiled me.
Here is a blank .tar file (just made in notepad) for Odin. Put it in the PDA slot and make sure Auto Reboot is checked. Click Start and Odin will reboot your Samsung device into Android. No wiping or writing.

came in handy - for a zero byte file. lol
lazy ppl ftw!
great!! thanks a lot!! how can i create a file like this that reboots the device in recovery mode? can you do that?
To flash it in recovery you will first have to boot in recovery... So this means nothing lol... Use quickboot app...

Sorry for the really late response. I too am trying to figure out how to make Odin tell the phone to boot straight into recovery. One method I found does work. Find the CF-Autoroot package for your phone (if it exists), pull the cache.img out, put that cache.img into an odin package (find a tutorial on how to do that elsewhere), then flash and it will boot straight into recovery.
For example. I made a a custom odin package for my Galaxy Note 2 using a TWRP.img and the cache.img from the CF-Autoroot package. Flashed it in Odin and it installed TWRP and booted straight into recovery! This way the recovery-from-boot.p file can be deleted in recovery before it reinstalls the stock recovery.
can you help me, booting with odin on sgs1 to get into recovery mode. very importent

I don't think I can help you out. CF-Root files don't contain the trick to boot straight into recovery. At least this is what I think, I don't have a phone that can use CF-Root to test it on. Picking apart CF-AutoRoot is what helped me. The Galaxy S 1 does not have CF-AutoRoot since that phone is set up differently than newer Samsung devices.
Great idea mate, power button broken in my sgs i9000 and if it turns off i can only access download mode.. So via Odin and your file i managed to power it on fast and simple.. Thx again..
My phone is stuck in recovery mode because the home button is broken, but when I connect my phone to pc, Odin can detect my phone. Can I use Odin to reboot my phone when it's in recovery model instead of download mode? Thank you.
^^ same question?
Can Odin just reboot?

If I understand correctly this is a blank (0 byte) file which does nothing but after flashing is completed because autoreboot is checked the phone will reboot automatically. Genius indeed!

Worked like a charm... just to add ... in newer ODIN instead of PDA you'd see AP. Also in Options remember to uncheck "F. Reset Time" and keep "Auto Reboot" on as mentioned above.
P.S: I didn't check what happens if F. Reset Time is on. Just posted what worked for me.
Note:
This is a exactly a tool for those whose "power button not working" to get out of any of ODIN or recovery modes when required. Usually it is decrease volume button + power/side key button for more than 7 secs to reboot and come out of odin mode.
Thanks XDA.

Doesn't work for me. Signature verification failed.
that supersu will work on anything... you just need to flash CWM...
So it must flash cwm first, is it will get yellow triangle and binary counter?
is there temporary cwm?
Sent from my GT-P6800 using Tapatalk 2
nope... we wont have yellow triangle or binary counter count... we are not note/note2/s3/s4
Thanks. So there is no yellow triangle or binary counter effect when flashing via odin for 7.7.

the universal root works, got my jb4.1.2 rooted. now removing the bloatwares.
Any other way to inject cwm without using odin on pc? I'm trying to root this one but i need first to install cwm. I don't want to increase my flash counter.

True. We're in the same scenario and i thought they didn't care at all about users installing custom roms. One time, i go to their shop to service my unit because of software issues. I was surprised that they recommend me to flash my own unit using odin, even my unit is still under warranty. I think they are too lazy to flash a unit that is still under warranty because it covers it all (No pay). Another day i visit their store and i noticed their 2 tabs has Supersu on it. LOL.
This is is my 1st time to use odin pc to my tab. I frequently used mobile odin pro on my android devices. That's right! Flash to the max!

Can someone describe how to root the P6800 with Stock JB in detail? I have tried following the links in the earlier posts, but with no success. I had it rooted with 4.0.4, and need root to get a higher volume.. cwm-6.0.3.0-p6800.tar did not work with Odin. isn't there a zip file so I can root from standard recovery?

Below are the instructions i put together for myself when going to ICS, it should work for JB too. This is a link to my dropbox folder with all the files https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ncr4cya5mx8ieje/NKlP1C5naD It may be that your cwm file is corrupt so try downloading again.
Flash the "Root_SuperSU.0.95.Only-signed.zip" directly in stock recovery 3e, no need to cwm:
How to do that?
- Download the Root_SuperSU.0.95.Only-signed.zip
- I will create Universal Root folder (Optional)
- Put the created folder at your External Micro SDcard
- Boot to recovery (Hold Power+Volume Up)
In official stock recovery 3e:
- Use Volume button to navigate to apply update from external storage. > View Image <
- After you choose apply update from external storage
- Press Power button to enter
- Volume button to navigate to the Universal Root folder. > View Image <
- Choose Root_SuperSU.0.95.Only-signed.zip > View Image <
- Press Power button
- Flashing begin >View Image<
Once done
- Navigate to ../ and press Power button
- navigate again to ../ and press power button
- and reboot system now
Your device will be rebooted and enjoy your rooted ICS. No cwm recovery
To install CWM Recovery using Mobile Odin.
- Download Locerra's cwm recovery. Im using Locerra's recovery v5.5.0.4: HERE
- Once download, extract it and it will be recovery.img
- Put it in Internal or External SDcard (Up to you, which convenience for you)
- Launch Mobile Odin
- Choose Open file and choose the location where you put it earlier
- Choose the recovery.img
- Flash firmware
Note: There will be POP UP window indicated
CONTINUE AT YOUR ON RISK - Click Countinue
- Done
To install CWM using PC odin:
Power OFF your device
Boot into download mode by pressing and holding ‘volume down’ + ‘Power’ buttons until your device’s screen displays an yellow warning alert.
Press ‘volume up’ to confirm the download mode boot. Now, an Android logo with the ‘downloading’ text will appear.
Launch Odin executable on your PC.
After Odin launches successfully you need to connect the device to your computer via USB cable.
In Odin you should see the text ‘added’ displayed, which means that all drivers have been installed and you are free to move to the next step.
Go to Odin and click the button that says ‘PDA’. Browse for the CWM recovery .tar file
Next, press the ‘Start’ button and Odin will start to install ‘clockworkmod recovery’ on your device
When the install is finished, your device should restart and when the Samsung loading logo appears you need to disconnect the device from your PC. Odin will now say ‘PASS’ and that would be all. Your phone is now running the CWM Recovery image.

It's not necessary to remove it, however, it's better to do so before any rom installation (just in case your rom installation went wrong and you needed to take your phone to samsung care/service center).
Thanks for the wonderful tutorial and effort!

I wasn't able to keep cwm after initial boot..
If I try to boot into recovery after initial boot and boot loops....
Any suggestions?

sometimes ROM overwrites any other boot found as a security feature .. as you said .. the best thing you do is to flash CWM and boot into recovery before normal ROM boot .. good luck

Hi, is there any data loss with this procedure?
Does the CWM Recovery use any space on the device or card after?
Hi There,
It goes all well for these steps..
How to root ?
-Open Odin 3.07.exe
-Put your phone into Download Mod
(Power button-Home button-Volume down button,at same time)
-When you enter in Download Mod, you should get blue box on Odin 3.07
-Uncheck Auto Reboot option
-Go to PDA and find your recovery, then click on OK
-After you checked everything click on Start
-It should take around up to 30-40 seconds
- When its finished take out battery, put it again
but after putting battery back in.. i cant seem to get in CWM it just get stuck on Samsung Galaxy Screen where it shows model of the phone which is GT-I9105P. And after waiting for 5 min it automatically reboots and phone starts normal. And if i try to goto CWM it takes me to stock CWM.
Any help?
