Title says about it all. Doesn't matter if I send it to myself, or if someone on Sprint or any other network sends it to me, I can't receive anything. I am able to send, but can only receive in google voice (which I didn't even have installed until this came up).
I've tried stock GB, bugless beast (ICS), as well as CM9. Any thoughts?
have you tried this? http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/SMSC_Updates
Have you tried setting google voice to send SMS to the phone? This can be set either through the web version or the app.

Very strange, I had it set in the app, but when I checked on the web version it was unchecked. I just sent a test message from the wife's phone and it worked. Thanks for the suggestion!

Has anyone tried this app? It allows you to access SMS and Voicemail in a single view and also on your PC. It seems it conflicts with Visual Voicemail on the Skyrocket.
I use it for my tablet and skyrocket it has visual voicemail with it so you need to not use visual voice mail. You I disabled it and everything works fine.

Once u get it working it shares your number on your table or computer so you can get your messages and even text from your tablet or computer and the recieveing party will get a message from you using your att number much better then google voice which you have to use a different number when testing.

With the mod you have, I stall gosms pro from the market, you then will be able to send / receive SMS plus ussd calls successfully. I had the same issue, and this app somehow worked it out.

Hello all-
Long time Lurker here.
I've been running Tweaked 3.2 since it was released, with the Lazarus Recharged (1/9) Kernel. I hadn't had any issues until I realized that Google Voice has stopped forwarding texts to the messaging app. The settings are set up to do it, it just isn't working.
I was wondering if anyone else is having issues with this, or had any solutions. I've already re-installed the app, and that did nothing. I'd love to get it working because we use this for group messages at work, and the message forwarding is working on everyone elses phones (non are Droid Charge though)
Just tested it before this post on my charge. Works fine. stock & rooted.
Still Charged Up
Check your account on the Google Voice website and look at the settings. The forwarding actually has nothing to so with the app... The app just has a way to set it in you account options. Toy can always set it up on the website too.

I did try toggling the setting both on the phone and on the website with no luck. Also tried a third party messaging app (handcent) just in case that was the issue.
Still no luck...

My S5 can't send sms messages, but can send mms. Yesterday my wife S4 started having the same problem. Here are the details of my phone. Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes, very frustrating. My wife and I have the same phones (s5 with Lollipop). Starting Friday morning, we haven't been able to recieve SMS from each other or from 2 other family members with same phones. MMS works fine...
I guess we'll have to wait for a patch then...

So nobody else with the same problem?
I called sprint. The tech said that the upgrade messed up the connection to the network. He said the following steps will fix it when you call CS...
1) SOC google voice
2) power device off and pull battery
3) CS Agent change MSID AND NAI address
4) power phone on
5) Agent follow onscreen instructions with ## code. ..
Worked for my wife and I.
Woke up to an update waiting. Updated the profile and rebooted. Sms is working agaon

I have 4G data but for some reason I can't send any MMS messages. I'm located in the US and on AT&T. Does anyone have any ideas why I can't send any MMS messages? Does anybody have the correct APN or is the one supplied correct? I'm on l29c636b180.

Got it to work by resetting apn.

I'm having the same problem...what steps did you take? I deleted & re-entered APN but didn't seem to work. I also reset to default then reselected & still no luck. I'm also on AT&T. Did you use anything different than what's already there?

All I did was reset default in the apn section and it worked.

Not sure if you're using the stock messaging App, try using messenger or any different messaging App. In my case, I never had to enter APN, it is automatically detected. I am with Bell Mobility though.

I never use the stock sms app. I use a third party one (evolve sms) Regardless of what third party app you use in the MMS settings make sure you check system controlled mms. With me the APN's show up automatically as well. I'm on Koodo-don't judge-lol
Spoke too soon... Can't send again.
Okay, I was using Hangouts before and couldn't send MMS through my carrier #. Hangouts and Google voice work fine with hangouts app. If I use the stock messaging app MMS with my carrier # it works fine. What gives? For some odd reason Hangout app works when I first do a system reset then it reverts back to not working.
Looks like it's definitly a Hangouts problem. I've done a search and it looks like it has happened a lot with hangouts.

Got it to work... I turned off WiFi, tried to send a MMS(failed) then rebooted and it worked. I turned WiFi back on and it still worked.

Well apparently it's not working again...it'll let me respond to messages already sent but when I add someone new, stl says 'Invalid Recipient'. I now have to use Hangouts to initiate a new message, I don't like Hangouts so this sucks.

These kind of problems occur with me with all third-party messaging apps (GO SMS, Chomp. Mood, Zero, etc)
I believe it is a problem related with android 6.0 because on Mate 7 or P8, reunning Lollipop all wor well
I also have an issue sending SMS or text messages. I'm using two SIM cards and this has always worked perfectly with the stock ROM. Using KingVIP ROM I can't send SMS's from SIM 1 at all. It works from SIM 2. Also some apps may send from SIM 2, but the stock message app won't send at all. I only just noticed this after a few days that I can't send via both SIMs. I've tried resetting the APN settings, tried different SMS apps, but nothing seems to work, does anyone have any ideas? I've changed all the permissions.
I'm not sure what came of this, but i solve my issue sending text by putting +1 in front of contacts numbers.
