Netflix - Audio, No Video - HTC Sensation

OK I've had a few brief searches around I can't really find too much but then I'm not the best at search terms.
I've got a rather Odd problem with Netflix. Now I've started using Netflix religiously over the last month and as we have a new puppy watching it from bed on my phone has been a god send.
The problem I have is it only works on one of my ROMs.
If I use the Netflix App on Virtuous Inquisition I can log in, Select a video and start playing without issue. Great audio and video.
If I use Virtuous Quattro then it plays the audio but no video.
Same for both MIUI's (ICS and Gingerbread)
Tripdroid
and I'm pretty sure it did it for Sense-o-maniac de-sensed aswell.
Does anyone have any ideas whats causing this?
Or how I can fix it? I like swap around the latest ICS roms every now and again and I dont really want to be tied down to Virtuous Inquisition because its the only one that works with netflix

its because it is missing codecs in the stripped roms(non sense) it works fine on all sense roms i have tried (i have 10 roms installed on phone lol)

Well.. I never knew that.
I wonder if there is a way to get those codecs re-installed.
I really want to use Netflix.
Its strange that Virtuous Inquisition works fine but quattro doesn't. Maybe the Beta 4 of Inquisition still contains the codecs even thought they say its de-sensed.

HTC Inspire 4G Bluetooth Audio Skip

Okay so this is a weird issue. When using the stock ROM for my Inpsire 4G (or any variation of sense ROMs) I get this occasional audio skip on my car's bluetooth audio. The phone is connected to both the phone and the media features of my Pioneer AVIC-X930BT the audio sounds absolutely fine then all of a sudden theres a drop in the audio for about half a second and the music has to catch up. Its not really a skip more of a lag. This issue does NOT exist with completely different ROMs such as CM7. In CM7 I have no issues whatsover. What could be causing this and how can I fix it? I absolutely LOVE Sense ROMs and have tried the latest Android Revolution HD (almost fixes it) and RCMixHD 1.5 and all have the same issue. Its not my SD card because as I said it works fine in CM7 however I do not like the look of CM7 and the "sense like" widgets are not to my liking. Thanks so much and I realllly hope there is a fix for it. Perhaps a custom kernel would do it? Or a different radio? Thanks.
P.S. Yes I know it works for some of you with no issue...but sadly I've been having this problem for a while and it's been bothering me a LOT.

The main issue is the BT stack that is used with the roms. CM7 uses a different one if I remember right. So not alot you can do unless you want to rebuild the rom yourself

[Q] Open Sensation

Hey I didn't want to disrupt the flow over in the Developer section of opensensation. I am trying to decide to flash over to that or the newest virtuous inquisition. Has anyone done a comparison to these? I am assuming since opensensation is based on sense it will be faster and more stable but has anyone confirmed this? Hope this is in the right section if not please let know where to move it and I will!
I am currently using Virtuous inquisition however i have always been a cyanogenmod fan!
I looked at the belt prop and saw video was working this is def. a plus however with my kiddo at home I need the camera functions working. anyone using this build I would really appreciate some advice!
Hello mate.
Virtuous Inquisition is the ICS build based on Sense (not OpenSensation, which does use a few components from the leaked RUUs).
For your day to day, I've got to suggest Virtuous Inquisition, especially if you need function like the camera working. OpenSensation is fast, but it's still in it's infancy, and there's a lot of quirks that the developers are still ironing out. It's coming along nicely (had a go at compiling it myself), but it's not for the feint hearted at the moment. If you want Cyanogenmod 9, but want stability more, then you'll have to be patient. Things like the camcorder, Bluetooth et al will take quite a bit of effort to be fixed.
In the meantime, Virtuous Inquisition is your best bet. It's not based on the latest RUU (although may be in the future), it is the most stable and fully functional ICS build out at the moment, in balance. I'm not using it myself but have done in the past, and since then more bugs have been solved, including the lockscreen issues with incoming calls. It's not pure AOSP, and you will notice occasional remnants of the original HTC framework, but not enough to be annoying, I hope.
Hope this helps.

what the best ICS room for G2X ?

No one can really tell you which is best, as it's all relative. They are both good so try them both out and decide what works best for you. I, personally, don't like these "which one is best" threads as it can be demeaning to the devs. They all work hard and they all deserve equal respect. You can't possibly know which one you like better unless you try them both/all

+1 to this... also each rom acts differently on each phone... so try them both and see for yourself
Both of them need more improvements in order to become stable ROMs.

HellFire ICS 4.0.3
BIG THANKS to everyone who is involved from the USB drivers to the ROOTers to the ROM kings.
Downloaded this ROM and after several hours for the FIRST TIME EVER, rooted my G2X, installed CWM, installed this ROM and the GAPPS. Sweet, no I feel so much LESS amateurish.
First BOOT didn't take as long as I thought it would. SHUTDOWN and STARTUP (POWER-UP) are WAY faster than they were on 2.3.3.
Below are OBSERVATIONS not complaints:
I am not a developer, just a user. The interface is really cool (for lack of more technical terms). Video playback is REALLY CHOPPY when it was smooth on 2.3.3. and many of the videos won't even play. The other DOWNSIDE is my BATTERY is DEAD as HELL, been charging for 2 hours already and still only at 80%, with 2.3.3 the battery (which is extended life) would last for a day and a half.
I am in the process of downloading the EAGLES BLOOD version to make my own comparisons. From what I am reading both these ROMs need work BUT I don't know anything about that.
WHAT IS REALLY COOL is that LG doesn't even have ICS in the pipe for G2X yet and now it's on my phone - SWEET.
I so look forward to future updates and ROMs to keep us less talented in the GAME. Thanks again, Mark
AND Now I have SuperUser rights - don't know what that means yet either but I will try to learn!

You'll find them to be pretty similar. Video playback is a known issue for all ICS roms and will likely persist as an issue for a long time (quite possibly until we have a release/source from T-Mobile/LG). Also, you'll notice that some apps don't work too well yet (basically same issue as video playback).
Outside of that, the share the same source, but HFS v1.2 was build more recently, and therefor has the newest commits from Arcee. This includes things like setting data limits and switching storage between internal and external SD. Hell also baked in a facebook sync patch that may or may not be working for people (I haven't tried it, but heard some people had problems).
Further outside of that, each developer has added their own style to the rom. I believe, however, that Eaglesblood isn't due to get the majority of the customization that the other EB roms enjoy until the next release.
Hope that helps.

Right now none of the ICS ROMs are finished, so just use a GB ROM if you're new to flashing.

I've been using it for a few days and seems very stable no FC yet but I would a reboot at least once a day.
I've been debating on which ICS rom to go with (still on CM7 now)
Probably go with Hellfire because they are on the cusp of a new release, and it's apparently very good.
Luvin the EB ICS
Been using the eb ics for two days now. It doesn't seem to consume as much battery as my previous rom (GB Weapon G2x) and that was a really good rom. Had to change to ics because i seemed to be having reboot issues and I longed for ics.
So far been having a few force closes but am still breaking it in. Seem to be having battery calibration problems as well, but i will give it time. I would say try them all. Max respect to the devs.
I had EB and the 'Music' kept stopping. I installed HF and have not had 1 error.
Well first off, ICS ROMs for this phone are not finished yet and will give you many stability issues and compatibility issues. That being said, you won't know which one you like more unless you try out both of them for yourself.

You can't even use your camera, and there is no media acceleration.
So, no, it is not at all stable.

I was using Hellfire Sandwich v1.2 which has the facebook patch. The facebook patch works great. I had no problem with facebook. I loved it but where I work I don't get good cell reception and wifi calling doesn't work all the time.

I used HFS v1.2 for 2-3 weeks and the camera works perfectly fine. No problems with the camera FC. It will only force close if you try to take video with it. Hardware acceleration is also fixed for v1.2. HFS v1.2 was perfectly stable except for the FC on video and random drop outs on wifi calling.
Imagine if LG released the drivers... ICS would be working perfectly :/

Been using Hellfire Sandwich since release. Here is my run down of what I see.
-Speed is good.
-Memory management works well but will cause FC because of more running processes then allowed.
-Paired with setCPU profiles I get insane battery life.Better then GB.
-Browser issues with flickering when rotating between portrait and landscape. Dolphin will FC as well.
-Bluetooth will drop out sometimes. Unsure if this is the phone or my headset.
-Browser does have video playback issue. YouTube and Netflix app works fine.
-No Widgets? Or I'm doing it wrong.
-No issues with any of my usual apps.
All I can think of at the moment. I use my phone casually for games and browsing.

no widgets? you should always be able to use widgets. But remember with ICS you have to get widgets by scrolling to the right in the apps drawer. I can't get netflix to work..dunno how you got that..the sound works but not the video. youtube works fine.
My Review
As a normal user I can say Hellfire ICS is much better then EB's. In the aspect of
Speed is way better.
Less Laggs while opening apps
Faster browsing then EB's
Stucking issue is less in Hellfire
In short Hellfire's ICS :good: is faster then EagleBlood's as per me... (a normal user not a dev)

[Q] Choppy video playback with TMobile G2 and Andromadus ROM?

Hi all.
I can't post this to the dev forums yet since I'm a new user, so trying here.
I have a Tmobile G2 running kernel version 2.6.35.14-Flinny-V2-gef05671, currenty on Andromadus version Alpha11.
Since Alpha 9, I'm having serious playback problems with any video I captured with the camera prior to switching to this ROM line. Prior I was running CM7 with no issues recording/playing back videos with either the stock player, or DICE player.
Is anyone else having these problems? It's killing me! Last night I tried the new beta VLC player, and it's a tad better, but still basically unplayable.
Perhaps it was my process of installing the ROM? I used SuperWipe, then installed the ROM.
Anyone else had this issue, or have a suggestion of how to fix it?
Much thanks.
Well it seems to be a common thing across several ICS ROMs right now. I guess hardware acceleration is still a WIP

ICS ROM for MyTouch 4G Slide- Any Recommendation?

I want to try out one of the ICS ROMs in MyTouch4G slide. If anyone tried the ICS ROMs, which one would you recommend for stable daily use?
I am very new to rooting and using/installing ROMs. All I can do is to read and follow instructions…other than that I mostly do not know what that I am doing with my phone. So please bear with me if my question turnout to be a dumb one.
The main motivation for checking out ICS is that I want to see bengali language complex scripts on the phone with UTF-8 and I heard that ICS natively supports it. I understand that I can tryout everything and decide for myself. But considering my lack of knowledge on this matter, I would love to try out one that users mostly recommend.
Here is some brief history of what I have done with my phone so far:
I have gained S-off and rooted my phone using the following thread:

After sticking with the stock ROM for few months, I upgrade from Clockworkmod 4.0.0.9 to the Clockworkmod 5.0.2.7 and the installed Bulletproof 1.1 ROM using the following thread:

I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
Well I've been using Pyr'o'Ice Desensed 1.1.3 and I can absolutely recommend that one. I may just be lucky, but I haven't had a single crash yet. As far as I know, everything works perfectly except for the GPS crapping out one time. It's legitimately fantastic and speeds the phone up drastically. Not to mention how great chrome is for the phone. So...yeah. It's the only one I've tried, but it is by all accounts stable.

Yes it's the most stable PLUS a touch screen fix
Typed by ---- oh wait! I'm schizophrenic!
I've been running Pyr'O'Ice 1.1.1 Sense 3.6 since last Thursday and I must say that it seems to be solid as a rock too and is not bad at ALL on battery life considering that fact. (Sense ROM) It gets a good, solid 3G connection and is fairly snappy too. So far, the only bug I've found in my limited use is that if you try to unlock the lockscreen while holding your phone landscape it will deactivate the lock mechanism. (You'll have to put it back to sleep & hold it portrait to unlock it upon wakeup). All in all a REALLY nice ICS ROM, IMHO!
I'm very happy with Pyroice Desensed. ICS on the Doubleshot is wonderful and tbalden has done some amazing work.
That being said, I have three main issues with the ROM. None of them are blockers for me, but I'll describe them in more detail in case they are problems for you:
1. EGL_NOT_INITIALIZED crashes when launching apps. These have gone down a lot with the latest GPU drivers, but I still get them reasonably frequently. Flicking away a few apps (especially GPU intense ones like Chrome) tends to sort them out, though.
2. Face Unlock crashes instead of falling back to the secondary lock. I have a bizarre dance I do to get past this without rebooting which is why it isn't a bigger problem. I suspect (but can't prove) this is another EGL crash since I usually find many and/or GPU-intensive apps in my recent apps list after I successfully unlock, but I haven't dug into this further.
3. Bluetooth support can be wonky and bit unstable. With 1.1.3, I don't think I've successfully answered a call with my headset with music playing (I believe, but I'm not sure that I did this successfully with older versions). I've also had a few reboots that looked Bluetooth-related. I'd consider this a bigger issue, but I'm used to buggy Bluetooth implementations (see: G2). Other than that, though, music, calls and tethering (to my tablet) all work, so it is generally "good enough".
Pyr'O'Ice 1.1.3. It's stable as a daily driver.

Last night I flashed Virtuous Inquisition. I'm loving it! The camera software is different (not better). I was able to take quick pics with the stock camera software with this one I have to wait in between pics. It remaps some buttons. The genius button becomes a search button. Very smooth ROM. Very easy install.

Just tested out the camera. Hit the camera button on the screen to take the next shot immediately. Also, most of us had that "Genius" button remapped since full root was first gained.

Let us know how it goes for you. I want to try ICS but I need to have like everything working. MMS, wifi, and 4G for work; camera for when my wife doesn't have her phone; and everything else just so I don't get made fun of at work for running a cooked ROM and every ROM I read about before always had something wrong with it. Granted, it's been a while since I've looked.
