HTC Inspire 4G Bluetooth Audio Skip - HTC Inspire 4G

Okay so this is a weird issue. When using the stock ROM for my Inpsire 4G (or any variation of sense ROMs) I get this occasional audio skip on my car's bluetooth audio. The phone is connected to both the phone and the media features of my Pioneer AVIC-X930BT the audio sounds absolutely fine then all of a sudden theres a drop in the audio for about half a second and the music has to catch up. Its not really a skip more of a lag. This issue does NOT exist with completely different ROMs such as CM7. In CM7 I have no issues whatsover. What could be causing this and how can I fix it? I absolutely LOVE Sense ROMs and have tried the latest Android Revolution HD (almost fixes it) and RCMixHD 1.5 and all have the same issue. Its not my SD card because as I said it works fine in CM7 however I do not like the look of CM7 and the "sense like" widgets are not to my liking. Thanks so much and I realllly hope there is a fix for it. Perhaps a custom kernel would do it? Or a different radio? Thanks.
P.S. Yes I know it works for some of you with no issue...but sadly I've been having this problem for a while and it's been bothering me a LOT.

The main issue is the BT stack that is used with the roms. CM7 uses a different one if I remember right. So not alot you can do unless you want to rebuild the rom yourself

Can anyone confirmed bt mono works with this phone?

I posted about this in the past my first g2x didnt work with it so i thought maybe it was messed up, i got a new g2x still doesnt work! thought maybe it was my bluetooth, got a new bluetooth still doesnt work! can anyone confirm this application is working with stock froyo? at my work im allowed to wear a bluetooth but cant have music blasting on my phone so this was perfect for me, it worked with my htc hd2 running android.......
Sadly no app that routes music to you're mono Bluetooth will work on the G2x. It for whatever reason requires stereo Bluetooth headphones to work. I bought supermono bt (or something to that effect), for my G2 which worked great. But none have worked on this one as of yet.

I don't know about stock but I know the CM7 rom made some major changes to the bluetooth department. Their bluetooth stack seems to be a more common profiles vs the LG custom one.
My WiiMote app wouldn't work until I flashed CM7. I would try that before returning it again. It isn't damaged hardware but rather crappy software support. CM's kernel fixes most of those little annoyances.

Annoying headset switching to mono

I have an annoying problem with my Inspire. I am running the latest CM7. No matter, because it did this on any/all iterations of CM7.
When listening to music with a stereo headset, every now and then, the phone has a glitch where it will for no reason turn the output signal from a stereo signal into what sounds like a mono. I have to pause the music, unplug my headphones (until the headphones icon disappears), then plug it back in again, which fixes it. It does this often enough to be an annoyance.
I've already tried different headphones, and it does it to all of them, so the issue is with the phone.
Does anyone else have this problem, and, if so, can you tell me how to fix it?
Thanks!
Just out of curiosity have you tried a fresh install? Almost every issue I've run into I've been able to cure by wiping everything and starting fresh.

I haven't tried that so far with this phone, although I'm 100% certain it didn't help (as I'm on my second Inspire, the first one's vibrator was defective, and it used to do the same thing).
Ugh, annoying! It just did it 2 times already since then!
Have you tried a non CM based rom?

Now that is the one thing I have not tried. However, I only have 2 choices, right? It's either a CM7 based ROM or a Sense based ROM; all of them are based off those two.

Pretty much. But you can flash a sense rom and then run the no sense script if you want to try a sense rom but don't like sense

[Q] Android Revolution HD 3.6.8 Bluetooth A2DP problem

Just flashed AR HD w/ no-sense for the first time last night, coming from MIUI and so far it's pretty good. I used Cyanogen for quite a while, then MIUI.us, which hasn't been able to get the code for Bluetooth A2DP yet. The "other" MIUI rom fortunately does have A2DP working, but since AR HD is the most popular ROM I'd thought I'd give it a try even though I'm not a fan of Sense.
Major dealbreaker is that I can't connect it to my car's Bluetooth stereo. I had no problems with stock, CM, or the "other" MIUI rom, but with this, I just can't connect to it.
Tried searching around, but couldn't find anything from anyone else having this problem, so I find it strange...
Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks!

Im running 3.6.7 and it quite happily connects to my built it Bluetooh in the car. Although this is for incoming phone calls and not A2DP so I dont know whether this makes any difference.
I ordered a Bluetooh Music receiver from Amazon last week to connect to my home cinema system and I was hoping to use my phone to wirelessly transmit music, now you have me worried! I will report back when it arrives and I have tested it.
Hoping to find it on the doormat when I get home from work today
Hi,
Bluetooth is notoriously poor with sense roms.
Cm7 has a very good bluetooth stack.
Hence you can work games controllers with it. And presumably your car equipment.
On sense roms, though, it can barely work my hands free ear piece.
So, if you use a lot of bluetooth, you are better off on cm7.
Thanks for your response! I've switched back to miui for now, but in searches for a2dp issues with ar HD, I couldn't find anyone having a similar problem...strange...

[Q] A question about ICS roms

So I recently got Cyanogenmod 9 for my Sensation and I love it so much! However, I do in fact have one concern. Is there any way to fix the audio routing issue? Are there certain ICS Roms out there that don't have this issue? I flashed over from ARHD because of Bluetooth stack issues, that was good enough reason as it is. Now I have a whole-nother problem.
Every time I use an apparently that uses a microphone, the audio gets VERY quiet! Almost inaudible! I know that the Nightly CM builds currently have this issue, but are there any other stable ICS Tom's out there that don't have this issue? I love ICS a lot and don't want to abandon it. If I end up leaving CM until a stable build is released? Fine. But for now, I'd really appreciate some input to see if there is a way around all of this.
Thanks.
I use Ordroid with sense4 and I can confirm that the Mic works fine. Speaker is loud on speaker options. I don't have that issue. It's a Ics rom with sense4. It's a excellent rom however tethering does not work. Other than that It's fast and stable . Lots of customization options , aroma installer, and tweaks. I personally love it. You might want to try it if you can't find a fix.

Does Bluetooth work? How about wifi hotspots? I use Sixaxis controller ALOT and want to make sure I can keep it that way. So Ordroid goes back to the original Sense look?
Bluetooth works on Ordroid, so i suppose six axis should work pretty well without an issue. as for WiFi hotspot, yes it does work, although wired tether doesn't.
the look of sense on it is sense 4, latest sense by hTC...that can be found on the One series.

[Q] Ongoing Bluetooth Headset outgoing voice quality issues - recommended ROM?

I am currently having outgoing voice quality issues while using a bluetooth headset (or in car/truck bluetooth) that I am trying to nail down with both HTC and Jawbone. I'm 90% sure at this point it's an HTC issue. I purchased an HTC One M8 on Verizon a week or so ago and immediately had issues with my Jawbone ERA. Voices sounded fine on my end but my voice on the other end sounded static-ey and overly loud - almost like the mic was too hot. I tried a ton of troubleshooting steps with both Jawbone and HTC and so far the issue remains. I also took the phone back and exchanged it for a new one and the new phone has the same issue. I've now tried 5 different bluetooth devices all with the same/similar result.
I found an old HTC One (M7 I think?) thread over on Android Central that seemed to be discussing the same issue:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one/309574-anyone-else-having-bluetooth-headset-sound-quality-issues-one.html
but no solution was found and it sounds like most people there just sort of gave up.
Sorry for the long explanation but one thing I wanted to try was using a ROM with a different bluetooth stack or system to see if that might point me to an HTC software issue vs a strict hardware issue. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm fairly comfortable with installing ROMs though on my old Droid, Safestrap certainly made it easier for me.
Thanks!
I had a ridiculous static with my jaybirds so I just ended up returning the headphones and ditching Bluetooth sadly. I don't think a ROM will change it

So there's no difference in bluetooth implementations between a Sense based ROM and say an AOSP or CM based ROM?

Well, out of curiosity I s-off'd the phone, perma-rooted, and flashed TWRP. I installed the GPE ROM, the Viper ROM, and the latest nightly of Cyanogenmod. Interestingly, the CM rom seemed to have MUCH improved outgoing bluetooth voice quality. The other ROMs all had the same issue.
Does CM somehow use a different bluetooth stack or something that would cause this? Honestly, I'd stay on the CM but I actually like some of the HTC features (like the duo-camera) and not sure I'd want to give those things up. Would it somehow be possible to use CM's bluetooth solution in something like the GPE ROM or even stock?

I'm on CleanRom and I'm also extremely sensitive to Bluetooth quality issues. I'm using both a Plantronics Legend and the Bose ear pieces and I hook the device up to a Pioneer DEH-80PRS in my car. I have to say I've never had a better Bluetooth experience. No complaints - superb quality - both ends

I'm now also on CleanRom and it is definitely better. My few tests so far weren't quite as clear as my CM tests but MUCH better than stock. This seems so strange to me. This is just a stripped down Sense ROM, like others yet a significant difference in quality. Both Viper and GPE had the same bad quality as stock. I wish I had the understanding/capability to truly root cause the issue as I'd love to have the freedom to use whichever ROM I choose. However, I do very much like CleanRom for now - the Verizon bloat on this phone was the worst I've ever had yet I do like a few of the Sense 6 features.
