Browsing the net for some splash screens/wallpapers and so on, I've accidentally found some nice lockscreens made by nick1313. I was wondering if there are also available for our Desire S (originally they're made for Evo 4G)
I've included a picture below to see what I'm talking. Mainly I'm interested in that nice central electronic watch, eventually if there's such a widget to be placed on the screen
I'm on Endymion v2.1 with the HD honey theme and the clock your after is in:
Personalize, display, lock screen style, clock ,settings, spin cycle clock which is the last one number 11. Cheers gordon

Thank you for the tip, I'll check the scheme, but I'm on CM ROM and I'm quite happy with it, don't want to change it only for a lockscreen. I was hoping to find something that will work on CM ROMs
No probs very new to all this not sure if the clock is part of the rom or the theme. Cheers gordon

That is the very same clock I use and can confirm it's a sense 3.0/3.5 rom lockscreen. But I do like the unlock ring goes well with the clock.

Actually bud I can't take credit for those, Mando41 actually made them, I think. Here's a tutorial for it that I've found but haven't ever used.
EDIT: Just saw you said lockscreen. Did you mean lock ring? The lock screen is just an HTC lock screen right?
Don't know exactly what the posibilities are, that's why I said "lockscreen" (in the print screens there was the lockscreen). What I'd like to have is that digital round watch as a widget on my screen or, if that's not possible to have a lockscreen as you have in the prints.
It just crossed my mind now that the digital watch is on the desktop and the lockscreen has transparent background so it's seen through it.
I'll check the link you've provided and see if I can do something that works on CM ROM not MIUI

Hi, really do like that unlock ring mod I believe its an apk sense skin, correct me if I'm wrong cos most lockrings are modded thru skins.
Would you be kind to direct me to the thread that I can find this mod please.
Cheers.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
MasterDL from what I've read and understood, that is the standard sense lockring lockscreen with a moded lockring. Nick has already provided a link to a tutorial for making those custom lockrings (check his post). For this to work though, you should have a ring lockscreen integrated in the rom (Sense based or MIUI as far as I saw). Unfortunately there's no such lockscreen in CM (the "ring" lockscreen in CM looks different)
^ Yeah I know, I am asking for it Cos I am a sense 3.5 user and like to know where this thread is so I can make one myself.
I'm talking about that ring in your first post.

HERE is the tutorial nick has pointed to, for the rest you can check the links in his signature. There are some screens and mods on that site too.
You can also search XDA for "lockring lockscreen" and you'll find plenty of threads that also have sample lockrings for you to use if you like to build your own
Link to the Go Launcher v3.0beta...I did not make any of this, just wanted to post the link for you guys already using Go Launcher. The beta is very nice....transitions are super smooth now, among other things. It's a nice improvement from the current version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559317
EDIT: Version updated to 3.0 beta 3
I hope they give the option to choose folder transition. I hate the new one. Why copy everything from iPhone? The original transition was much faster and aesthetic.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA
I've been on the beta for a couple of days now and it is very nice. Swipe gestures are expanded, desktop transitions are now usable in app drawer and the app drawer scrolling is way smoother....think Launcher Pro.
I think they are on version 6 right now, and the creators are very active on their thread responding to questions and taking suggestions from people regarding new features that users would still like to see added prior to the 3.0 release. If you have any requests I would think now is the time to give them feedback.
The folders look awkward when they open now. I don't think that happened back then.
I've been wanting then to release Sense previews since forever! :O I wonder if they'll ever put that in.
They just published it. As I said, I hate the new folder iphone transition and I stay on v2.85.

Yeah, not a big fan of the new folders but the overall increased smoothness would make it hard for me to go back....that app drawer is like butter now.
V2.87 is out and drawer shortcuts have changed very nicely. Very smooth, giving it a shot regardless of the iphone copycat folder UI.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA
Yeah, they are making a lot of changes, and most seem to be in response to feedback posted on the main thread. Looks like the 2.88 beta is going to be out shortly.
Like I said before, now is definitely the time to post feedback on their thread.
NEW VERSION IN TEST PHASE - COMING SOON
UTB-ROM for the HTC One S gives you a clean, no fuzz, CM9/AOSP based ROM.
Version 2.0 marks the start of the future. As we anxiously await the kernel drivers from HTC, talented developers are making good progress on getting AOSP running smoothly. While there are still some issues floating about, its time to start building the base for the new ROM.
Description
You have two options. v1.0.6 gives you an AOSP-like experience but with the comfort of the original stock HTC ROM as base. Most things work as expected. However, if you enjoy living on the bleeding edge, version 2.0 gives you an CM9 based ROM which will get some bleeding edge extras along the way. Version 2.0 is still very early in development and is currently pretty identical to a stock CM9 ROM, but I wanted to give a taste of what is coming.
Highlighted Features v2.0
CM9-base
Google Play Music
OLED-Optimized ICS Boot animation (true black levels)
Latest Google apps included for your convenience
Note that this is just an introductory release. It is plagued by the same bugs as the other AOSP/CM9 based ROM's are. But we are making good progress and soon we will get all bugs figured out, Im certain!
Highlighted Features v1.0.6
Stock Android apps (Trebuchet launcher, Android Messaging app, Android Contacts, etc, compiled from source)
Stock Android ICS notification bar
Most of the included HTC apps are long gone
Based on the new 1.64.997.1 kernel
Zipaligned
Just feels good!
Changelog
v1.0.6
Picasaweb added (syncing works, uploading is still an issue.. maybe because of this)
ICS Live Wallpapers
Updated Gallery app (Now shows your online photos)
1.0.5
Removed CruiserPwrExpert - A ridiculous logging tool from HTC that does nothing but drain your battery.
Removed the HTC Gallery
Removed HTC Music
Added AOSP Email and Exchange
Added Google Play Music
Added AOSP Gallery
Known Issues v1.0.6
Unlock required before answering call (Hard to fix as its a compatibility issue with Sense)
The HTC Camera is for some reason not willing to open the ICS Gallery for previews.
NOTE: If you are coming from a different base ROM than the one you are flashing, a full data wipe is encouraged and recommended.

Yeah, I left the stock HTC camera app and gallery app. The reason for this is the unique features of the ImageSense chip which I didnt quite get to work with the stock camera app.
HTC's settings are also still in as well as the HTC Music app, but I might be removing that in the next version. Unfortunately, until we get AOSP running on the One S, it will be difficult to escape HTC's customized stuff completely. But I am trying to get as close as I can without breaking anything.
In terms of bugs, I am still trying to resolve answering calls without having to unlock the screen. Apart from that, I havent found any other serious issues yet.
Feedback is most welcome though. Ive just made a ROM to satisfy my desires and needs

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know the foundation is stable and solid.
Is there an easy way to change the behaviour of the app switch button in here? I'd find it more useful to switch between apps than as a menu button.
Hmm haven't thought about it. Just made more sense to have a menu button. If you long-click the home button you get the app switcher though
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
Problem is that when you don't assign menu to one of the buttons you get the onscreen menu button back...
Sent from my HTC One S
The on-screen button doesn't really bother me. At least it tips you off that there are hidden settings in some apps. Over time there should be less need for a menu button anyway. Guess it's just a preference of mine, but very awesome ROM otherwise!
Shame there's no live wallpapers though.

Is everyone experiencing better battery life with this ROM? Also, what is the issue exactly with screen unlock? When you update the ROM, will we have to wipe? Do you know how long before answering calls bug is resolved? I happen to enjoy this version of Sense versus the older ones but I'm all for trying a "lighter" version of the OS.

To be honest, I didnt really use my device much before I flashed it, so its hard to answer the question of battery life with any certain degree of accuracy. But battery life is great for me and Im sure the new kernel doesnt do it harm either.
The screen unlock issue isnt really an issue, but more a HTC - Android AOSP incompatibility problem. When an incoming call occurs while the phone is locked, you have to unlock the screen first before being able to click the answer-button.
Hello..
very great rom.. i'd like to know if there is a battery mod for this rom!
Thanks

Wierd question. Any way to put apps on my home screen with no grid? Just drag and drop like on a computer. I am an avid homsecreen customizer but I have no idea how to do this
Sent from my One X using xda premium
pretty sure you cant. there would have to be an option for the homescreen setting to align the icons to the grid like on a computer and when you uncheck it, it would allow you to place icons on your homescreen as you please. i dont know of any launcher that has had this option built into or if there is a way around it. a mod would have to either make a launcher with this option or customize an existing one to do so. hope my assumption is right, and is so i hope this helps your question.
PCs also have start screen grids. Not sure what you are asking.

You can turn that off though and have total desktop anarchy (Right click -> View -> Align icons to grid
Also, I don't think it would be feasible to not have a grid system on Android. Widgets must know how large/small to draw themselves and without a set grid I think they would just choke and die.
I know at some point, there was a launcher that had *less* of a grid. Not completely none, but a little less. Not positive if this is the one, and I'm about to flash a new ROM so I can't test right now.
But it *may* have been SSLauncher. If I remember what it was for sure, I'll try to let you know
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.launcher&hl=en
EDIT: Accidentally quoted the poster above me lol
EDIT 2: Also this https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEwNCwiY29tLmFwcHMuYW55d2hlcmUuZnJlZSJd
appears (based off description, once again I haven't tested sorry) to be a widget that allows you to place app shortcuts wherever on top of it. Or something. Haha, I don't know.
TSF Shell has this functionality. IIRC you can place an unlimited number of icons in any arrangement you want, including overlapping other icons and widgets. It's actually a half decent launcher (after some recent updates), albeit gimmicky at times.
The only issue is the fact that you'll have to pony up a measly (read: ridiculous) $17.

Ah! that's the one! Haha, I never used it, but I knew it existed. I knew it was one of the letterLaunchers. Thanks dude.
I would like to see the grid spacing more compact atleast. It only allows 4x4 right now. I think it could be bumped up to 6x6 maybe.
Have you ever tried Lightning Launcher?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.pierrox.lightning_launcher
It can do what you're describing and more. I have to warn you, though: its concept is a little different than the traditional android launcher, so it may take you a little time to get a hang of it and customize it to your liking. However, it is very, and I mean VERY, customizable. In addition, is very light-weight and fast, even on a low-end device (hence the name Lightning Launcher), so the HOX would think it's a feather.
I used to run it a while ago, but I'm back on Apex Launcher now to complement my AOKP ROM experience. I don't really mind the traditional grid layout. Who knows, I might come back to it that's just the beauty of Android!
Give it a try if you want!

I actually prefer TW to AOSP now - I NEVER thought I'd say that!
I've always supported the crusade for more OEMs to release vanilla builds until now. After spending a while using TW I actually prefer it to AOSP. Any time I've given CM10 a try I've found myself actually missing TW.
Who's with me?
Me!
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Definitely not stock Touchwiz, but cleaned up and modded yes.
But development is still new. Wait until JB is released and then definitely wait until the device no longer receives new updates. I will miss AOSP more than TW at that point.
I agree. AOSP is fast but in my opinion a little plain. Touchwiz on Jellybean should be the ultimate duo.
Me too
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
That is Samsung's intention so its good to see value actually being added.
Agreed. Can't wait for JB Touchwiz. I've rocked AOSP or some form of it for about a year now and honestly Touchwiz on the S3 is a nice change of scenery. :good:
Its the reason why I haven't installed CM so far, Samsung actually got it right. Can't wait till JB is out.
AOSP just doesn't feel the same anymore. Not as polished...
If you knew me, you would know this is crazy talk from me. Never thought those words would leave my mouth...

I find no reason to hate TW. It very neat, colorful, simple animations.
I think people who say they hate TW believe it is one of the requirements to be an XDA member.
/agrees
TW clock, Camera, video player, Calendar & Widget > AOSP IMHO
i dont mind the way touch wiz homescreen looks but i don't like how they made replacements for stock apps. I don't see why they couldn't just skin the stock ones. I also just prefer pure google.

A lot of people also think TW is just a launcher so they say it sucks. Iol
I just can't stand the huge fonts and spacing everywhere. And when you select small fonts, then some apps are unusable and others are still huge.
I have a hox as well and sense absolutely rapes tw in usability and in how polished it is.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Moved to AOSP JB (CM10 first and now AOKP) about a month ago after using TW for a month. Don't miss it at all. Especially don't miss the steaming pile that is the TW Email client.
Still haven't found any software added by a manufacturer that does anything to make me not want to run AOSP roms. Part of it is principle... Everything with TW could be an addon which runs on top of a vanilla android... but because people with HTC phones or Motos could run it too they tie it deeply into android instead of layering it on top. This hurts consumers because we get updates slower, and there just isn't an option to go vanilla without unlocking and installing a custom ROM, which isn't for everyone.
AOSP works best for me, and it's... OPEN. For me that's a big deal.
Each to their own though... Some people love their iPhones too
The sizes and excessive spacing took some getting used to for me coming from OG droid with steel droid on it. After almost a month since my upgrade I no longer regret as I originally did. Only problem I have now(still stock) is going back to the homescreen, it sometimes crashes, like I can see the weather widget reappear every time. With and without power saving on. I figure once I root n load up a custom Rom it should fix it. Thought it was cuz I didn't reboot my phone in 700 some hours that that might be the cause, since the screen wouldn't turn off while on a phone call, but the reboot didn't fix it. No big deal, just haven't seen that hiccup posted anywhere else, so I figured I'd share my experience.

Its not compatibility, its inconsistency. Set the fonts to tiny and email and SMS font is finally right, but other apps (I think xda and words with friends are two) are nearly unreadable.
