Since we now have the HSPL to unlock the Arrive I think its time for a new sub-forum for the Arrive or at least for CDMA devices only what do you think guys??
Yes I that would be nice
I think it would help avoid confusion so people don't try to port the wrong rom to the wrong device.
Sent from my PC93100 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
agreed. I'd be just the guy to do it too.
agreed. the recent introduction of future custom roms and unlock status dictates that a sub forum will be necessary!
Agreed would help to avoid confusion.

Two solutions:
1) Don't hold the phone in landscape as problem is much worse when held like this..
2) Achieve S-OFF and install a custom ROM which should have a software fix.
If you need to know what S-OFF then you probably are S-ON. To see how to get S-OFF then use search within forum and google.
Look at other posts before creating a new thread......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036357
i did a research on s-off but could'nt find any topic to show how to s-off the HTC Desire S.
Any resolution for that?

No idea, I'm afraid. I'd also recommend that you don't ask that question in the thread as it will simply annoy the developers who are working on the solution as fast as they can.
It has been shown to work on the Desire S already, but isn't yet released. It's released for other devices which shows that its not vapour ware and is worth waiting for.
and yes I'd suggest waiting a fortnight to a month at least....before contemplating XTC
If I've provided you with assistance or help then please hit the THANKS button!

I doubt it since the Galaxy camera has different hardware. I mean it might be possible, but then again. I don't know much
I am actually working on something similar to unlock the bootloader, but not like they are doing for the galaxy camera. I am not going into details, as this could jeopardize the effort if motorola got wind of what we are attempting.
BTW questions belong in the Q&A section not the General section.

OOOoooo. Dang Jim. This is going to be good! Good luck on your efforts!
I want to root and make a titanium backup before getting to the stage of unlocking and ROMing. All guides/tools (I'm on a mac but have access to a windows machine too) seem to be an all in one solution that wipes, unlocks and roots.
Also is it only system stuff that's deleted? /sdcard/ will be left, right? Sorry for simple question. I've never had an internal memory only phone before.

You can't unlock your bootloader without wiping. And there's no rooting method, yet, that doesn't require unlocking the bootloader.

You guys may spend a lot of time on this forum, and that's fine. But just because a question has been asked before doesn't mean every person who visits here will have seen it. It's often faster to ask and receive answers that to spend time searching a forum.

You can say whatever you want to help your cause but it won't work here, just admit you're lazy and don't feel like searching, reading and educating yourself.
Ok guys, sure he should have searched and yes - its in the sticky at the top of this forum but im sure we can dispense with the name calling

So I'm thinking of getting this phone in the future but I can't decide between the i9500 model and i9505.
Now, I'm not asking hardware-wise, I know the difference between the Octa and Snapdragon. I'm asking in terms of community support. Which one of these models get more developer support and faster/more stable/better ROMs and Kernels and.....stuffs?
I9505
And easier for development

I have already successfully rooted and flashed recoveries, radios and ROMs on 4 different Android phones before. You can't really tell how much a model is supported by just looking at the appropriate sub-forums, since even for 2 year old device as Desire there's still replies on threads, but not from devs but confused new users. Or there are very low-quality re-pack ROM devs.

Mike,
XDA forum is not your back yard where you can "command" and then whine about not getting the answer quickly. Be thankful that we have XDA assist to help lazy people like yourself to make your phones "cool".
If you thought for one second that we are here to provide you customer service, you are gravely and sadly mistaken.
I am going to excuse your tone with our support team this one time.
Please use the search function and find answers for yourself, and if you do not find an answer, the only reason would be that you did not search hard enough!!
Thanks.
For one thing go **** u think u can talk to me like that I was pointing out facts about what IV seen and experienced on here if u think that I'm lazy go take Ur phone bend over and ask Ur team for some assistance I work to much to have time to fiddle around with silly little school girls moaning if about I ask a question I expect it to be answered and been polite or I'll give them some kind words just so u remember who pays Ur wages
