How to restore to stock when RUU doesn't work? - HTC Sensation

Hi!
So.. My HTC Sensation XE GSM has some issues that need to be repaired. Touchscreen not working in the lower part of the screen, constant headset-icon, trackball not working good. So I've contacted my repair center and they told me to send it in. So I want to restore my phone to as close to original as possible to be on the safe side.
I don't have system installed at the phone anymore, cause i tried to install ICS before, firmware update and before s-off.
The problem is I can't use the official RUU_Pyramid_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.35.707.1_Radio_10.43a.9007.00U_10.51.9007.27_M3_release_198358_signed.exe(or any other version), without getting an error 155(apparently it has something to do with the rom not having correct filesize).
It doesn't matter what rom I'm currently using; Modaco, Villain, different kind of generics, but nothing affects the outcome.
1. Is it possible to downgrade HBoot from recovery mode? If so, does anyone have a update.zip I can use?
2. Could error 155 has something to do with the computer/OS im using?
3. Anyone has any other suggestions what I can try to restore?
Currently using:
HTC Sensation XE
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.18.0000
eMMC-boot

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I got the same problem, just go into your bootloader and then attempt to run the RUU from there.

you should put on a gingerbread rom such as the 2.3.3 energy rom and then u can use ruu. you have to use ruu when it is connected to computer. i plugged it into my pc and put it into htc sync mode whenever i conducted ruu. Hope im not too late

[Q] install New RUU

Good day
I got my new sensation 2 days ago i need to install new RUU on the device but i don't know where to start and what to do
plz i need help thxx
You can't flash an RUU that's different from you original version. It's been covered SO many times before it's not funny.
What RUU are you trying to flash and what ROM is currently on your phone?
im trying to install "RUU_Pyramid_HTC_ARA_1.34.415.1"
and idon't know what is the current RUU on my device
my problem is :
i want to add arabic support to my device , when i run the RUU it can't discover the device, my device is connects and set to USB disk drive
You can't do it. To find the version on your handset go to Settings>About phone>Software information
And it shouldn't be connected in Disk Drive mode to run an RUU - you set it to HTC Sync (and you need HTC Sync installed on your PC)
Android Version 2.3.3
Software number 1.35.720.1
Kernal 2.6.35.10-g9cef70d
and if i can't how can i install arabic support on device??
You can't, simple as that. You need to wait until we have root access to flash a new ROM which has Arabic support built into it. Might be weeks yet
as mentioned above, you just can't at the moment, for arabic webpages however you can download Firefox which renders arabic websites without a problem, I know that doesn't solve all the problems though, the facebook app for instance can't ready arabic unless it's supported natively by the rom, don't worry though, once HTC releases its S-off update all will be fine.

So it also won't be possible to flash the "RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.35.401.1_Radio_10.43a.900 7.00U_10.51.9007.27_M3_release_198179_signed"
to a 1.34.206.1 (Europe) device, right? =(
or is there a possibility to do this?
Would be really nice to get that unbranded version to my phone cause I really dislike waiting weeks or longer for a new branded version every time a new software version is released.. :/
That's correct, you can't debrand until we have full root access
Not what I've wanted to read but thanks for the answer :')
I hope that will change soon

Original 1.73.206.3 GB Sensation XE Rom

Hello Developers, I have on updating my UK O2 Branded Sensation XE debranded and backed up the original image via backup and recovery.
Does anyone know or want the files / image so to pass on to the less fortunate of us who didnt backup there system and need the original O2 Stock ROM.
If there are developers can can utilise this please advise what files i need to look for and zip up for you to play with etc.

Definitely worth posting seeing as there isn't an RUU around
I want to go back. Please post . You need to go to into yiur sd, and then clockwork/backups and there should be a backup ffolder. Put that into a zip and upload.
Why do you need it? You're not on o2 or in the UK

Hold on - you got the phone on Orange, are saying it runs nice with the Vodafone ROM but you want the o2 one??? How does ANY of that make sense??
Just get the 1.50.401.1 RUU (or 1.73.401.4 if you have an XE) and flash that - SO much easier
So where's the unbranded backup then?

Return rooted phone for warranty?

I have a rooted phone, S-OFF and a custom ROM and now I cant use it with SIM-card so I am thinking if I can return it to warranty.
So wich step should I take? Is it enough to just flash a stock ROM and then it makes the phone as it was before? Or is the S-OFF still going to be there? And I have dropped my phone before so have cracked glass, but this problem has nothing to do with that, is it an warranty-issue you think regarding to that?
Have seen that there are more then one Stock European ROM, wich one should I take?
You should still s-on just in case, use this tutorial on how to get it s-on and remove everything till it's stock

Hmm, I have done everything in that movie but in the last sequence when updating the ROM, I got an error-message that it could not update the phone. Maybe I choosed the wrong ROM?
Its says (translated from swedish) "ROM-updatetools cannot update your phone, get the correct ROM-updatetool and try again"
RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_234765_signed

To make sure, try other RUU first

well I think I have made a mistake now, now it only boots in fastboot or Hboot, so cant boot a ROM at all. When running the RUU I should be in the normal mode right? Or can I start it from fastboot?
Any RUU other than the failed one. I suggest you use euro ruu as you are going to return it for warranty. I dont know if other ruu will void warranty or not.
Just run RUU exe, i think it works on fastboot ( i forgot ).

Sick & tired of phone restarting

I have tried everything on my wife's phone.
First I rooted didn't work
Tried the paper to push the battery down
Then tried numerous sense rooms didn't work
Then tried s off didn't work
Tried newest firmware didn't work
Matched latest radio with til didn't work
Tried cm9 stable didn't work
I just witnessed the phone restart 4 times without even touching it while on the charger fully charged. I'm tired of stressing about this pos.

Well the phone first came with gb and was never rooted and then received the ota update which is when problems started happening as I know so did many other people.
So that's when I decided to root it
The only other option I think of at this point is if it keeps happening to just go back to gb.
Does anyone know if there will be a jb update for this phone?
Sent from my HTC myTouch 4g using xda app-developers app
I'm not aware of an official JB update from HTC but I'm using an AOSP JB ROM currently and there are some problems.you have to follow the proper process for your phone.
Flash an RUU
S-OFF the phone
Install custom recovery
Root the phone
Install ROM of your choice
In the process, please don't forget to follow documented processes for each step to the letter or you'll definitely run into problems. Post back here if you get stuck and we'll definitely help you.

Its a problem with the phones motherboard. I called HTC and told them what was happening and the tech on the phone told me to send it in and they would replace my mother board under warranty. He confirmed that they have been receiving many calls with the same problem and there was a defect with the mother board.
So either send it in for warranty or try pulling the contact pins out a little bit and jamming some paper by the battery to give it better contact. That seems to work for me.
I appreciate the feedback but so far for some reason after reflashing the 3.33 firmware package the phone has not acted up since hopefully it doesn't happen again

As you're device is S-OFF, you can use the appropriate RUU for your device that will flash Android 2.3 on your phone. You can download the appropriate RUU from HERE. (If you could tell us more about your device, like run the command: "fastboot getvar all" from the command prompt on your PC and post the outcome here, we could help you finding the proper RUU for your phone.) If you want to try custom roms like cm10-11 or the latest Viper rom, you must update your firmware and hboot. The latest firmware for the Sensation is v3.33 and the latest hboot is v1.27. If I remember well.
