[Q] [Part Request] Broken USB Connector - T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

Hey guys, I managed to get a SK4G for really cheap, but the problem is the USB connector is broken.
Usually I can find these things on ebay for real cheap ($5-10 shipped) but for this particular model I can't find any for some reason...
Can anyone point me in the right direction? A digikey part number perhaps? I'd like to figure it out before opening it up just to save time and less chance of loosing/damaging parts before I repair it.
Thanks!

It's not precisely identical, but http://search.digikey.com/us/en/products/10103593-0001LF/609-4049-1-ND/2350356 looks like it'll fit.
I'm going by the photos I took for http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466906

Thanks! That's just the reference I needed! I was able to reflow the connector instead actually and fix the problem

[Q] SGS GT-i9000 ... list and reference of electronic parts

Dears folks,
I'm in search of a list of the references of the electronic components/parts of the Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000.
In particular the reference of the main speaker (see pics attached) part since I've broken this part while replacing my broken LCD screen/digitizer.
I failed to find any OEM/electronic parts suppliers selling this.
Any idea ?
Thanks beforehand.
The SEC part number for QSP01 speaker module is GH59-09408A.
It will cost you around 25-30€ I recon.
Would anyone happen to know where to get a gps antenna? Its the sticker-type just beside the speaker.
I can make a small donation for whomever finds a such antenna.

The antenna assy is not sold separately.
You need to buy the whole middle frame.
Price is about 25 euros.

Well, where can I get the middle frame?
@ Richthofen
Thank you. Huh same question as "rkantos", any idea where to buy GH59-09408A online ? Failed to find it on eBay.
you might try these folks http://www.globaldirectparts.com/
they're in Texas, USA
Thanks Larryccf. Unfortunatly, not in their catalogue.
I'll have a look straight to korean "suppliers" ...
Okay, I did some further investigation and found out that this "rear speaker" is manufactured by a Korean company named Bluecom.
The reference of this "speaker module" is HQS151135P ... which is to be found inside the plastic ****.
Hope this help for future "unlucky" like me when disassemblying the SGS.

For the 2 touch buttons ... lookout on eBay with the following keywords (I cannot give the direct link since I'm limited in my profile account here) :
"Flex Cable Keypad for Samsung Galaxy S i9000 wTracking"
... quite not sure it includes the mic and the "plastic" button at the bottom of the phone, tough.
Thanks itdoe. I'm just looking at this and there's the mic, that's exactely what I'm looking for! That's maybe the solution for my physical button which lost his sensitivity and the two touch button which doesn't work ...
But I have one more question :
Do you know where I can find the wire connecting this part and the mothercard? (like in the pics).
That's a standard cable or that's a spacial Samsung cable?
Someone know what's it utility?
I ask you that because I disconnect this cable and everything works in my phone only the two touch key.
After some investigations, I found what's this wire. That's the network cable which work like your hearset for the radio in your Galaxy S. That's in fact an antenna! (maybe for bluetooth too, but I'm not sure for that!)
If that can help someone

The microphon and antenna stay on button flex cable ...
You can find it on Ebay (search : "GENUINE SAMSUNG KEYPAD FLEX RIBBON CABLE FOR I9000" )
I think I've the one million dollar question ...
I wondered if someone know where I can find the power flex cable welded on the mothercard to remplace my cutted flex cable ... (or eventually this reference).
If you havn't any information about this one, do you think it's possible to use an other flex cable model?
thank you for your answers...
To bad there is no answer to the real flex cable or the middle part. By my own stupidness i destroid the flex cable. I think I must buy a new SGS then all my holiday pictures and videos are in the broken phone. So the new Samsung Pad must wait...
Thanks, my i9000 is ok now

[Q] Identifying SMD chip in O2 XDA (Artemis)

Hi All
I wonder if anyone can help me identify a chip in my XDA/Aremis?
I got the phone for free as it was not charging. Obviously the guy had tried to fit it himself and broken an SMD chip leg off at the case. Optimistically, I spent a bit of time scraping the plastic off the case and trying to get a solder joint but no luck.
The chip itself has 4 legs, is around the size of the end of a ballpoint pen, located very close to the USB port and has the letters N87 printed on it.
I've searched this site and googled it, but had no joy. I'm hoping to buy a duff phone from fleabay and pinch the chip out of that, but if I fail, I'll need to get another chip or replace it with discretes if at all possible.
All replies gratefully received....
Steve

[Q] Any idea on how to repair Micro USB port?

I have a T-Mobile Sensation 4G. I have taken really good care of it for the last 2 years. The Micro USB port seems to have finally gone south.
Does anyone know where I could get a replacement Micro USB replacement part? I have been looking on the Internet, but I just come across the Sensation XL part.
Has anyone done it before?
Any help would be appreciated. I am down to 38% battery. The only phone I have is my crappy Gingerbread android phone from work.
Thanks!
You could try a repair shop. I've had them resoldered before on other phones when they were loose.
First try pulling the battery and digging around in there with something like a safety pin, small paper clip, or a sanded down toothpick. Sometimes you just get a ton of lint buildup in there. If there's enough it'll mess up your connection.
I checked eBay. You can find spare charging ports on there if you want to go that route, but most people don't want to mess with replacing them. They're a pain.

Just about all repair shops in my area said my phone is too old, and they don't have the parts.
I did see some parts on ebay, but I figured I would ask if anyone has done it before on here. Also was hoping someone would be able to suggest a storefront to buy it from.
Like one of these?

Seems easy enough to replace once you get the phone apart enough to access it. May need a little solder work though
The solder is the hard part. To remove the old port from the board properly, you can't just use a soldering iron. It's recommended to use preheaters and a hot air station or you might damage the board. You have to be able to release the wires plus the surface and/or through-hole mounts. It's not an easy task on this phone.
Honestly, probably the best recommendation if you don't have a professional to repair it would be to just get an extra battery and an external charger. Sorry, but I don't recommend home repair on this one.

I pretty much did what you suggested before reading your post.
I ended up buying this battery charger: Anker® Multi-Purpose Universal USB Travel Wall Charger
It made more sense to go down this road than trying to repair my phone.
Now if this can just hold me over until the Nexus 5 or Galaxy Note 3 announcement.
Nice! I hear lots of good things about Anker products. I think you took the right route.
Haha! For you, I hope they come out fast too. I'm too cheap to buy new phones!

Where to buy a replacement keyboard?

I need to replace the hardware keyboard in the Q. Reason is the 'b' key doesnt click much anymore, it has almost no travel when typing on it. Where can I buy a genuine replacement? Is it also difficult to replace?
Please, let me know if you can.
here you go ;
http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-motorola-photon-q-4g-lte-xt897-qwerty-keypad.html
This will not help you... Photon Q's keyboard is build in such way that there are golden circles with golden dot inside - each button has its own. Then, on those golden pads, there is a sticky film with metal caps which, when you press, they connect the dot with the circle around it. So presumably the thing that got broken on your phone is either the metal cap (it can get worn...) or it somehow moved (rather impossible). So the thing you want to buy is the sticky film (white foil) with metal caps. If thats not it, then you need the motherboard...
If I didn't explain it clearly, check the photos, for example in Cornholio GSM hardware mod thread
Thanks for the advice. Indeed, I believe that's the problem. Where to find a replacement for that one?
I've seen those replacements for XT894, which is the same. Search for that one and you will find it on Ebay.

How do I dismantle without breaking it? I can access the battery and the soldered SIM... what should I do to proceed further?
Thanks

on youtube is Photon q Disassembly video
someone still need a replacement?
i work in a wearhouse that have cooperations with Motorola.
we have a lot of spareparts but i never needed them for now.
iam not sure if we have xt897 replacement keyboard because its not released here.
and the letters and numbers on the keyboard are only sticker i think.
but i will ask
Hi there, the keyboard sticker with metal pads would be handy spares, but do you have access to the slider ribbons? These are a wearing part - the one that joins the screen to the base.
I'd like a few of those!

we have every little screw, rubber sealing or what ever. but iam the first of our company that asked to buy things intern.
some guys in our office need to contact motorola first and ask for permission. we will know more in a few days.
smoking weed can affect (mistake post)
Sounds good - I need 4x ribbons, 2x screens & digitizers, 3x batteries.
See what you can do - I'd take more if you can get it.

[Q] How is this part called

Hi!
I noticed my earpiece is not working at all and decided to disassembly my Relay. It was a shock for me, when I saw, that the part marked on red here: http://i.epvpimg.com/A6xZd.jpg
looks like that in my phone:
http://i.epvpimg.com/uTXBg.jpg
http://i.epvpimg.com/xlpvg.jpg
http://i.epvpimg.com/b4aWf.jpg
http://i.epvpimg.com/65U5d.jpg
(I am even wondering how is my phone working now...).
Could somebody give me a name of this part? And can it be a reason for not working earpiece, or should I disassembly my Relay "deeper"?
I found this: https://www.gounlock.com/details.php?itemId=8555
I was looking only on the length of this cable, so I'm still not sure if it's what I'm searching for.
That would be the main flex cable

Thank you for your answer demkantor.
The second post which I didn't read before helped me mostly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39598833&postcount=2
Could you confirm if the part I put with a link in 1st post is what am I searching for? I couldn't find anything for "main flex cable" in Google and also I don't think it's the same part.
And is it possible to change it without replacing the whole screen-part of the phone? The disassembly manual ended with same step I did.
Unfortunately I can't say for sure as I haven't yet torn this phone apart myself
I would recommend to pull out the broken cable and try to match it physically to the one you linked
Otherwise search out a thread that someone here has done this and ask if they can confirm
Best of luck!
When I had to replace a broken screen on my Relay, the replacment screen came with that cable, screen, digitizer and top case. If there are any more still being sold elsewhere, it might be easier to replace then entire top half of the phone. I had cost me $40 about a year ago, unfortunaglly I can't find it again listed on ebay. Good luck
