Bravia Engine .zip for Skyrocket? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I have seen that the Bravia engine has been added to several Skyrocket roms. My question is, is there anyway to get a .zip of this to flash in CWM for an existing rom that does not have it? Can it be added to a rom this way? I have checked posts for some other phones and see zips but not sure if this is universal or is there alot to be changed before it can be flashed to our device.

I too would like to know..
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium

lots of other phones have the cwm flashable zips, so its possible.

if you poke around with cwm bravia zips built for other phones, and then take a look into roms that we have you will most likely find the files that you need. i just dont know if you need any build.prop edits or scripts to make it work.

Check out this post he's got what seems to be everything figured out to add this to the SGS2 not sure how or if it is compatible with the Skyrocket
it what pointed out below the link i posted (now removed) is total junk (since i didn't have the phone yet i didn't read but a couple pages into the thread)

It looks like the last post on page 19 lays out why Bravia wont work on a non-Sony phone.

Edit: sorry I assumed that he just asked to port it recently but I went back and looked at, the date and it was a while ago for another rom. My apologies

Excellent, you're the man!
When you say it'll use Edify, that will require CWM 3 or above, right? Sorry, been a while since I've looked at CWM changes since the 2.5.1 version has "just worked" for so long now.

Modems :)

I came across this while looking for an old modem I used to run. I thought maybe the rest of you guys may want to give some modems a go.
Link: http://www.veyka.co.uk/radios/
NOTE: Not all are infuse compatible but some indeed are, its trial and error folks. Just thought I'd post it for the convenience of the rest of the community.
sideNOTE: Try running a speed test to make sure modem switch was successful, upon my testing, it seems as if some modems would not change the text in the system settings, but speedtest says otherwise good luck!
ENJOY, and by all mean share and post about your findings I may eventually compile a list of all the compatible modems that can be found from this bigger list.

Well from what I've figured (I'm not much a dev) but I figure they are all compatible but are missing something... idk what but something... I can try to look through the zips a little later and compare them to the ones in the thread linked and I can let u know.
I almost get fully successful flashes, just almost so it is missing something just need to find what.

If the modem is made for bml (pre 4.2) then the modem file has to be padded to work on 4.2 roms. I outlined that in the thread.

[Rom] [Stock] Vzw Rooted, Deodexed, Zipaligned

Full Stock - Rooted - Deodexed - Zipaligned
im making a stock rom with a bunch removed and added Functions but i figured id also upload a stock rom deodexed and zipaligned so people can have there fun with theming etc. while we wait to get aosp
this is made with the fixed rooted system.img from http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1762204
and is completely fully stock with root and deodexed/zipaligned
Download:
goo.im: http://goo.im/devs/BeansTown106/SGS3vzw/i535-DeoZipA-stock-rom.zip
torrent: plz make one and i will put in op
i will update this when i fix the 2 apks, right now everything works 100% with the exception of backup assistant
Bugs:
-SecMMS.apk was bugging out when deodex and zipaligned so i removed it and added cm9 mms(messaging)
-vmmhux.apk could not be deodexed so i removed it (part of vzw Bloat)
additional download for the removed apks untouched both will have the odex and apk, incase someone can fix them
here: http://goo.im/devs/BeansTown106/SGS3vzw/stockodexedfiles.zip
sounds interesting, thanks for the work! will check it out when i get a chance
gonna need this will grab it tonight!
Just friendly reminder, as you have posted this in Verizon Galaxy S III Original Android Development, in sense you are right that it is dev work for Verizon but what we are trying to do is separate out AOSP/Source builded roms from Stock roms. So as this is stock rom it will belong in regular dev section rather than original one.
I hope u understand this. Not trying to be mean or disrespect but just trying to explain what's the deal here. Thank You

Wtf is the point of original s3 development ans the non original. Honestly its all dev. Is the non original for the dev edition coming out? Its pointless to have 2 threads for aosp and stock.. its still the same phone. Honestly there ahould be a "dev edition" vzw thread if that phone proves to be different and not help this one. People already have a ***** of a time not searching and this will add more confusion.

the organization of the sgs3 threads is horrible.... not easy since verizon's phone is pretty different, and the fact that theres a dozen sections. I almost want to suggest different sections for carriers but not sure that would be an improvement... tough decision really.
anyways back on topic...
Does this cause "Status" to be "Modified"? I think not since its a signed stock image. but had to ask.ty

I have to agree. The SGS3 forum seems fragmented enough with four carriers in development, but there is genuine need for four carriers in development because there are four different radios. Having both a regular and diet development for each carrier is fragmenting things even more. I know I would rather check threads in four fora than eight.
If one really wanted to separate original development from non-original, a simple [ORIGINAL] tag should do it just fine. But in reality, regardless of how you separate the two, there will always be folks wondering why they can't get [ORIGINAL] by kanging someone else's ROM.

LOL. No where on the rules does it state that best threads are not allowed. Some sub forums let them go and some don't. It's the MODs decision for a given forum whether or not to allow them.

Yeah I'd like to hear there take on it as well. I don't disagree with you at all that they aren't needed. It's just hard to have one MOD allow it and others not. I just got done reading that thread that you linked to and it looks like this conversation has been had by greater minds then ours. If it's gonna be enforced though it should be clearly stated somewhere(like the rules) that it is not OK to do so.

[DEV-ONLY] Android L Port

Hi guys,
First I must begin by saying that I am not a developer. However, using this: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008) thread, I have managed to "port" Android L to the One, though I have no clue if it even boots. There are a few problems that need to be discussed:
1) AOSP ROMs are around 400 mb? This one is 900+ mb.
2) When I was zipping the ROM, I saw Prism.apk was also in it, and a heck lot of other HTC related things.
3) Will the current kernel for KitKat work smoothly on L?
Anyway, this is my first step to being a potential developer and hope you all get excited for this. I do have one request though, if I can get a few devs to work with me on this, we can get to new heights on our One.
You can download the zip I created here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4JA1Kc3xlxiZUw2XzNzM1NKMVU/edit?usp=sharing

Did you miss the [Dev-Only] in the title? Every flash on your device could brick it if you aren't careful, nothing unique with this build. If you don't want to risk it, don't flash. Simple as that.

Im not a dev just a general user but I don't think we should be creating these types of threads if you don't know what you're doing. Let the real devs do their work if it was as easy as following a copy/pasting port guide every device would already have a l build. Just be patient and eventually a nice dev will maybe make some magic happen for us.

This ROM will not work, period. The reason is because you did not follow step 1 of the guide which states quite clearly:
"Take any clean CM9, AOSP, CM7, CM10, CM11 ROM which is running on your device as Base ROM."
Now, don't know about you but I do not think a stock deodexed Sense 6 ROM counts as any of those mentioned in step 1... that is why you are seeing HTC things in the ROM.

no man, you can not do this because we have not a base for L! so it should be ported compiling source and fixing bug and issues...is not a thing that you find in a guide

I think your best bet would be to download the Nexus 5 sources and then do some "patchwork" with HTC One libs and whatnot, when needed. The good thing is that they are both at the same resolution and have similar specs.
And after you're done with that, you should be able to build with a couple of adjustments to various build-related things.
EDIT: Also, there will probably be issues with kernels? so you'll have to work through that also.

You can't be patching and copy/pasting libs. No zip modding when it comes to porting big base changes
You'll need to decompile and redo your ramdisk etc. And like jonny said you can't be using sense and gpe parts

Android L Keyboard in Play Store
I just wanted to note that there's a third-party application "Android L Keyboard" by Shen Le in the Play Store which I've been using on the latest CM11 nightlies that works great.
I understand that's not the point of this project but I just wanted to make sure other users are aware. Also, it's kind of scary to have to trust that a keyboard from the Play Store isn't logging and reporting your keystrokes but that's another issue entirely... anyways I added a screenshot, good luck with the project!
