Phone can't signin to or view some websites? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I was wondering if this was a phone setting issue or something else.
On this phone I can't sign in to livejournal, or I can but on very next page I'm no longer signed in despite allowing cookies and even if I tell it to remember my username and password. Also any community that rates itself as 14 or 18 plus has a warning where you must say you're older than that, after clicking the next page is the exact same one all over again. Also I notice random issues on Yahoo. Like Yahoo answers won't let me login. A few other sites do similar things, like I'll tell it to go to the next page and it reloads the page I was just on. Most of the time I don't have a problem signing in and stuff, but on certain sites it fails every time.
I'm totally stumped. My G2X is rooted, though I don't think that's related. Could it be a provider issue? When I've teethered from this phone to another (an iPhone) the iPhone has no issues. I dont have a chance to test if it does this when on wifi. Any ideas?

[Q] Can't get into HTC Hub

Hi
I'm having troubles getting into HTC Hub.
I previously used HTC Hub at my Desire HD, but it seems there is an error in HTCsense.com, which won't allow me to log in with my new Sensation. I tried making a new account, and talked to HTC hot line, but nothing seems to work
I can log in at HTCsense.com from my computer, but it tells me to log in from my phone. When I log in from my phone, it says "check email and password" and I tried the recover function, but after this, it too says "check email and password"
Has anyone else experienced this?
I had no problem with the DHD, so I'm a bit confused, why I can't get it to work, as I am no noob, as I get a new android phone every 6th month, and I work a lot with rooting and custom ROMs. Therefore, this really anoyes me, when it is supposed to be so simple.
best regards
I have the same problem.
Sent from my HTC Sensation
Hmm, that's just weird. Cuz I had no problems whatsoever to create an account with my phone. It worked right away.
It was posted that this was the reason for the release being the 15th instead of the 8th. HTC is still working on making the hub available for the sensation so they asked T-mobile to hold off a week. It's somewhere in the post asking if any T-mobile stores were selling it early and that Walmart is. There are like 60 pages in that post though, I'm not sure where exactly it is, but the issue should be solved in the next week.
i think htcsense.com is down for maintainance, at least thats what it says when i try to log in online
If you are getting a "wrong username / password" error try either adding or removing the country code in your phone number. Here in the states remove or add the one
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
mine wasn't working for a while saying incorrect email or password.
then i treied the forgot password thing and gave me this totally different password so i guess with all the fixing of the website some passwords got messed up.
so just try the forgot password thing and you should be able to login again
i just tried it
Yesterday tried the Hub. Downloaded a couple of wallpapers and some widgets.
Aaand...
Most of my widgets, like the power control and eRay and a whole lot more developed a case of horizontal pixel lines, like a bad signal. Constantly changing position and witdh. Plus the phone became severely slow.
Uninstalled the new widgets, left only the fortune cookie, a bit less lines. Removed the Hub account from the phone, the **** is the same. Removed the cookie as well, no change. Tried logging in the Hub again. No chance. Bad user/pass. Tried signing up again - nope. Tried forgotten password - can't find the security question, it said. So I reset the phone. I don't even dare to try logging into the stupid Hub again. It does however log me in from HTCsense.com. I hate my life. And I really hope the phone doesn't suffer from something gruesome from this experience. It doesn't deserve it.

[Q] email client lies

Hi
My Htc Pro 7 (one week old) seems to pretend that it is syncing. It only takes 2 to 3 seconds over Wifi but it doesn't bother downloading new messages.
My (only) email account on the phone is a Blueyonder account (powered by Google). The initial set up went off and collected the account info.
I have turned off SSL and deleted the port numbers from the SMTP and POP settings.
Reentering the username and password convinced it to download the rest of yesterdays emails but not the test one I just sent myself or the others that are on the server.
Outllok 2007 is set to leave copies on the server for 10 days and over the years WM and Symbian handsets have not experienced this problem.
Any suggestions?
Tnx
Since re-entering the username password- the phone is set to look every 15 minutes and ever hour or so it seems to go off- ask if there are any new messages and then download the odd one without bothering to do download the rest...
Am I really the only person who has a mailbox that is at least a day behind???
I guess I am going to have to reset the phone, and lose all my texts etc.
Nice one MuppetSoft!!! By removing our rights to tweak things you have also prevented us from fixing things ourself. Please stop trying to be Apple.
Sometimes the same thing would happen when I hard reset my phone and set up my Hotmail account for the first time. E-mails don't download even though I can clearly see them on my PC. After a couple hours though, it fixes itself and my e-mails appear regularly, and at times, I get alerts to my phone even faster than I would on my computer.
Maybe give it a jump start by using your phone to compose, send, deleted, etc. Otherwise if it still isn't working, then it may be bugged and a hard reset may be in your future.
Thanks for the reply prjkthack
I can send emails without any problems. I have only had the phone just over a week and I am pretty sure that on day one it was working properly. I only noticed the issue a couple of days after the Nodo update- not sure if there is a relation or not.
I guess I will have to wait until i have a day off work before i can prepare for a hard reset. Being undiciplined i tend to leave client contact details in the form of text messages, rather than saving them to contacts.
odder and odder....
it has finally managed to catch up and is now up to date.
I have not made any changes/restores.
Lets hope it stays that way.
Now all I need is my Dev account to be approved so that I can play with mango.
Just bumping my own thread.
The problem returned.
UNTIL I remembered that my Virgin (blueyonder) email account (powered by Google) needs to be in the following format recent:[email protected]
I am such a wanker and should have remembered sooner!!!!
I guess it is a timeout issue, ordinarily the email client asks the server if there are any messages- the server responds "sure about 10000", the email client says "sod that, I'm not cross referencing your list with the ones i am already aware of -I'm off".
With the addition of recent: it only asks for the emails received in the last week or two.
Hopefully the above will be of help to someone else in the near future

[Q] Windows Live Password Is Incorrect Error

A couple hours ago I noticed twitter and windows live were not syncing. I attempted to resync and they still wouldn't. I tapped on the Windows Live account (main one) and it got error 86000206. I looked it up and found this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2464629#86000206 It mentioned to change the server from m.hotmail.com to m.outlook.com so I did that and now not only does it not sync but it also doesn't accept my password anymore. Reboots do nothing. I think I need to get in and change that server back but no idea how. I'd rather not have to reload my phone unless absolutely necessary. Any ideas?
THIS IS EXACTLY what happened to me! DO NOT CHANGE TO m.outlook.com! DO NOT DO IT! I am in a process of restore and updating the phone!
Yeah, I'm afraid I'm going to have to do the same thing. I'm getting everything in place now to do so. Hopefully I can pull off a miracle at the last second.
the thing that pisses me of is - it has been an outage, I noticed that my chat isnt working, and tada - not up-to-date on Windows Live & Twitter. I need to learn to wait and not trying fix the things up right that second...well...I ended in the same situation like you
Yeah. I figured when I saw no mentions of it on twitter it must be just me. If I were more patient like you said I wouldn't have this issue. I'm not a happy person. It's stupid that you can't go in and modify that server name if you change it but you can if it's correct.

HTC Sense : my experience with HTC Support (or lack of)

Hi,
It all started about about 6 month ago, when i received my HTC Desire z (my 5th HTC branded phone).
I signed up on the all new HTCSense.com service. And it worked. At least for some time.
About 3 month later, i noticed i could not log in my HTCSense account anymore. Either from my phone or my laptop.
Here are the symptoms (on my laptop) :
On the login screen, i enter my email and password.
Then i click on Login
The Login button greys out and i have circle on the left to signify the site is "working".
I can wait up to 10 minutes, and the page doesnt change.
Sometimes after 20 or 25 minutes the website displays this error : "HTCSense.com is currently down for maintenance. We'll be back soon!"
I tried, and got the same result on Chrome, Firefox, IE9, and on 2 different computers
If i tried the "forgot your password", i got the same symptoms.
Out of curiosity, i tried to sign up a new account, with a new email, and guess what? it worked perfectly.
So i tried to type the wrong password on the sign up page, but logically, it warned my the password was wrong directly, so with this new account, i could not recreate the symptoms from the 1st account with this new account.
Therefore, i concluded it was a problem with my account and not password related.
So, 1 month later, i contacted HTC support Hotline, and they told me to wait a few days because their server were under maintenance and it would be back 2 days later.
So i waited .... 5 days... and it still didnt work. So i called again, and they kept telling me the same thing : "the server is under maintenance"
So i decided to use HTC Support online, and i explained my problem again and again by email.
But i always got the same answer : the server is under maintenance !!!
This was 2 months ago, and the server is still " under maintenance" ... But only for me.
So i decided to give up, and asked them to delete my HTC Sense account since i couldnt even login anymore.
Here is their answer to my request :
"Thank you for contacting us, Please try the following : In Sense.com website, after login in, go to Account > red link “Click here to delete your HTC Sense account” > input password"
There i think i could have grabbed a gun and kill myself, which obviously, i didnt
After i wrote them back, and made them understand i couldnt use this method to delete my account, they asked me to give them my login informations and PASSWORD.
Any sane web developper will know that if you need to ask the password of a customer to delete their account, there is something really wrong in their design. But well, i complied, and i sent them my password.
Now, here is their new answer : "our server is currently under maintenance so we cannot delete your account at this moment. We will do it as soon as the servers are back online".
Now i think will find some rope and hung myself
What else can i do?
you gave them your password? big no no.
call them up and don't get off the phone until it's resolved. go to a manager if you have to. it's pretty obvious that their scripted answer is of no use to you.. if they say "the server is under maintenance" again, tell them that's the answer you've received for weeks and that you will not get off the phone until it's fixed.
perhaps......
It all depends at what time you call. I have called in the afternoons/evenings and the support sucks. I have called in the morning time and I have gotten exceptional support from them. Better luck in the future, have an awesome day.
I'm new to HTC and tried to register for HTC Sense and never got the verification email. I logged a support request and have been asked for my username, password, secret question (and answer), phone make and model, phone number, IMEI and serial number!
Why they need all or even any of that information in order to delete or reset my account I have no idea but I responded by telling them politely to 'go whistle' and I am awaiting their next inspired suggestion.
I have worked in IT for over 20 years and you just don't go asking for this stuff if you are a legitimate support service. I'm distinctly unimpressed so far and looks like HTC Sense is one service I will be managing without.

htc = pia
I love my EVO 4g, but tolerate HTC. After about a year of owning it, I finally tried to set up an HTC.com account. I had been running AOSP ROMs for most of the time, and just decided to try Sense again. I got the same sort of "servers are down" messages. I tried alternate email account and user name...same results. Its not a big thing to me, I can get most any widget or wallpaper or whatever from a dozen other places. Sense is pretty, but it is a resource hog. I don't want the widgets, I want memory and storage space back.
Is this Application like Ipone have ones?
even if you get it working mate it ll just stop working after a while. ive had to remove and add the account to the phone a few times to make it sync again. as it stands just now I get no gps details or phonecall details the phone wont lock but I can see my messages at least.
Lol, almost a year later and the servers are still under maintenance....

Help? Particular website access issues from android phone

Hopefully I'm posting this in an ok section. I'm not sure what the issue is, and I'm trying to figure out if this is a software, hardware, provider, or website issue. I am beginning to suspect a software issue though.
I have a stock HTC M8, and as of about 2 weeks ago, I'm having issues logging in to one particular website: http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/ , but ONLY when connected through my wireless provider. The main page loads just fine, but as soon as I hit the sign in button to try to get to the signin page, it hangs for a while, then I get the message "internal error - server connection terminated" .
Here's the thing though: If I try to sign in to the page while connected to a Wifi network, it works just fine, and will continue to work properly even if I turn wifi off, until such time as the page automatically ends my session and I have to log in again. It's just that initial log in that won't work if connected to a wireless network. Also, I can't log out either unless on a wifi connection.
Here's what I tried already:
- Tried to log in using my wife's S4 (also stock rom). No good.
- Tried Chrome and Firefox browsers. Same problem.
- Contacted the website support. They say my wireless connection is too slow. Speedtest says 80Mbps down, 30Mbps up, 31ms ping. Ummm... I'm going to say this isn't the issue.
- Contacted my wireless provider (Telus). They say they haven't made any changes the last couple of weeks.
The only changes I've made recently is that I updated Android System Webview. I can't even get a handle on what the heck this app is for (Typical review: "It changed my life! My acne disappeared, and I won the lottery!")
Any ideas? I'm at a loss here....
In chrome you should check on the requeat desktop page and give it a try
Sent from my SM-G355H using XDA Free mobile app
Sadly, I've tried that as well. No go on any browser.
That's why I figured maybe it was something HTC screwed up with a recent update.
Can you access that login with any other method on your htc
Nope. WiFi only. Every other attempt to reach the login page fails. Browser doesn't matter, desktop view is no good, manual or auto login is also useless.
It simply won't load the login page.
I noticed on my desktop that it goes from whatever page you click the login button from, to a log in page, and then back to your original page once you enter your information. It's that transition to and from that login page that seems to be where the issue lies.
I must be in the website you do not need to worry as your droid is safe
Sorry, but you lost me there...
It could be thatbi lost but i dont know coz at somd times i have same problem anf it goea away by itself so i think its a site problem
I thought that originally as well, but they claim they haven't changed anything and blame my ISP, my ISP claims they haven't changed anything and blames the site...
This is why I'm wondering if it maybe has something to do with android web view or the native browser interfering with the whole system since it started about the same time as I downloaded the updates.
You wouldn't by chance know where I could find an apk for the HTC browser 2 versions ago would you? That way I could remove all updates then install that and at least verify or eliminate a possible cause.
Yes i can tell you where is the befault internet brousef app present on your device.
Download ans install es file manager.
Open it. At the top you will see sd card tap that. A mwnu will open. In that menu the first option is / device select that.
In that search for system folder. Inside that you will find many folders but inside folder app and priv_app there are syatem apk
Your brouser app will be inaide one of them.
Try searching goos lucl
