You can't really blame them as they've put up with people who thought they were too good for the rules for so damn long. We'll ignore the fact that when you first show up in the Infuse forums, there's a forum labeled Q&A. Common sense would dictate that maybe questions should go there.
So you already showed a lack of common sense by skipping over a forum plainly labeled Q&A for all the world to see. After running blindly past that forum you ended up here in the development section. I mean yeah you really shouldn't be tossing random questions here but I could see how it could confuse you, here you see TWO CM7 threads, wow you hit the jackpot!
But once again instead of taking a minute to check those posts out, instead of using the handy dandy search tool up there ^ and instead of at least posting in one of the other CM7 related threads, you decided to say **** IT to common sense and created a brand new thread for your question.
You aren't special, the question has been asked and answered elsewhere, go forth and find the answer you seek.

our devs who left left for a better phone with better software support that isn't held back by that carrier since it can have software ported from the international version but they each may build one last rom when att drops gb, mikey is still answering in his thread and he and gtg both indicated that they may give it one last shot when the official gb drops. also entropy is still here, though he also got a gs2.

Slowly, more and more, I think the same thing as you.
I respond to these threads trying to help. The user (op) is at square one and has no clue what to do. Regardless of how many sticky threads or putting stuff in your signature to help inform users of how to get help and what the rules are, they still just randomly flash things and say "It doesn't work" without telling you what didn't work.
Personally, I don't see this issue as often on other forums. Maybe xda-developers has a power that draws in clueless newbs that won't listen to anyone or read.
If another 15yo emails me about helping with kernel stuff and has no clue what shell scripting is, I'm going to bail from XDA.
I've spent a lot of time lurking, helping, and reading... like the rest of you. I have my own *life* problems to deal with as well.

Um, Kind of why I never write things here. People are dicks on this board. Um, I was just trying to be helpful. But um, thanks for the unnecessary comment. Um, I'm sure there is a mod around who's job it is to decide if a post should be deleted or not. Um, I am also sure they are very capable of doing said job as well. Development section is for active developers of a ROM. Since we don't have RC participating here (he's on RootWiki) it doesn't belong on developer section.
The two developers that DO participate on XDA and have developed ICS based ROMs (HellFire and EagleBlood) have their own threads.

Don't get discouraged bro. It's a reason why you can't post it here. 1. In dev section you change log, screen shot, disclaimers and on top of that you must be dev or have the dev permission. (to open a thread). In the general section is where you should have made this thread and it would be called a information thread. And it's 1 or 2 already made for arcee ics.

Also, the fact that you can't tell how much of a douche you are really concerns me. Yes, its people like you that ruin the experience of others. See info[]box1 @ 10:17. If LG were to release ICS on the G2X? I see devs making great ROMs for it yet are hindered by a lack of drivers, which I assume would be part of an official ICS update. Any devs care to comment?

Not really. Pricks like him are abundant on forums, even the respected forums here on XDA. Still, just saying "what isn't working now will work" is not enough. With those broken features working, could devs be motivated to step up custom scripts and mods that go beyond even what's available now?

Respected forums? Xda? Maybe like before Android, not anymore now.
A lot of people are just disappointed with the same questions being asked like 5 times when you could just click a page or 2 back and see the same topic already discussed.
We just need an active moderator for these forums to merge the redundant topics together.

I don't know, I got my ass warmed for spamming, but then they hired me to spam professionally. I'm not trying to start anything, mt3g we've been down that road, accomplished nothing. Anyhow, my question is, and I understand basically, but why do you guys worry so much about people starting new threads? Its not using any storage space that would affect any of us. When a new thread is started, no matter if there's a thousand just like it, it promotes social gathering and in most cases, usefull information. But(never start a sentence with this), when you guys run your cruisers down here and go Gestapo on the op's, that's even more useless than the duplicate thread. I'm surprised whitehawkX came back and EaglesBlood is still here... if I'm that big of a problem the mods will come and say something to me and I will behave but until then.... deal with me I guess.

How did you get any of that from what I said? Quote specifically please, and I will reiterate what was confused... I would never want that! That's the only reason I'm still with the g2x, I'm saying the repetitiveness of useless threads ("how do you update baseband, and how come I hear these noises when I call someone after installing this rom, I'm coming from 2.3.4 I received yesterday.") anything of that nature is what's wrong with this forum.

I'm coming to the G2x from a few other Android phones (LG Optimus V & Motorola Triumph) and it was hard to find the relevant and important info here even though I've written guides & developed for other Android phones before.
There's no need to depend on moderators, just a default thread to point everyone to with a FAQ section (maybe eventually sticky it or put it on the top of the stickied thread). Then it should be updated regularly by a person with good writing skills. or even a wikipage on github that a select few can update so the burden isn't on one person. Anyway I know it's towards the end of the G2x's lifecycle (until official ICS maybe), so none of this may matter, but just suggesting for future reference. Good, clean, & simple documentation prevents a lot of repeated questions.

ok so this is to help keep the peace i am posting this on top of the forum rules they may overlap or intersect. My goal here is to help keep down on the issues of repeat threads, wrong sections, trolling, and any other hijinx that comes here.
1. SEARCH
yes sometimes its hard especially on your phone with taptalk because we all know how that works. Solution: Try using google search using keywords such as xda, skyrocket, and whatever your issues is this always works for me.
If your on a computer use xda's built in search tool or google as i stated above.
I personally promise 90% of all issues can be found on the web with answers if you just take a few minutes to search
2. IF ITS A QUESTION IT BELONGS IN Q&A
It does not matter what the question pertains to it is a question and belongs in Q&A i have reported tons of these here recently having them moved. i know you think that its a general question but no it belongs in Q&A ok.
3. READ
This one is kinda broad for a reason here we go
If you ask a question within a thread at least have the decency to read the last few pages to see if anything comes up that may answer your question im not talking the whole thread but maybe 3 or so pages. The reason for this is that i have seen alot of threads where people have a question answered then not 2 or 3 posts later the same question comes up. This leads to cluttering of the thread making it much harder for others to find information.
This also goes along with wanting to make a thread look at like 3 pages of threads to make sure you dont have a reapeat post this thing happens alot again it comes from lack of attention.
4. TROLLING/FLAMING
This ones a big one and im a massive perp for this and will be the first to admit it.
We need to stop the trolling its just getting worse and not fixing anything yes its hard to ignore especially for us old timers but we need to set the standard now this forum is too big for us to be going on like we have been.
Solution: squash the issues by reporting if you wanna report multiple times fine get your buddies to report fine but lets stop the hate i personally am working on this as well.
i know you guys are gonna ignore this and whatever but my hope is the message gets across to you guys and makes this section a more peaceful place for all

You might mention in the OP that the best way to Google search the forums in to prefix the search with:
site:forum.xda-developers.com
So to search for 'skyrocket ics update' within the xda forums only would be:
site:forum.xda-developers.com skyrocket ics update
Also you could add links to the existing threads stickied in Dev. We all know their stickied for a reason, but many people overlook them and head straight for the new thread button
If you are going to help somebody, have the courtesy to check back on the thread so you know they are in the right direction.

forget pinning it.. this should be the first thing you see in like, 48 point font, obnoxious colors, when you open the forum.
