I wanted to say thank you so much to all the wonderful devs here for all of their efforts making the Captivate a better phone than Samsung could. Please don't flame me, this isn't a knock on the Captivate, I loved the device even with it's flaws. I will miss the Captivate forum, yesterday I jumped to T-Mobile, better rates and they have dual core phones. I got an HTC Sensation and I love it.I will miss my Cappy but I couldn't deal with Samsung's shortfalls any longer, I want a device that works as it should out of the box. I also would like timely updates which AT&T proved they suck at providing. Happy flashing to all and thanks for the wonderful support provided by the community.

Well it looks like the AT&T and T-Mobile merger is going to happen so you'll probably be back on AT&T&T by the end of next year.

Its funny how defensive people get when it comes to this phone. Ill be honest, I have the most fun tweaking and flashing this phone thanks to the devs, but I still say it overall IS a piece of ****. You can't blame the hardware for crappy made software from the service provider or user error from bricking. I have never done anything that I couldn't fix and that wasn't my fault...
The fact that you CAN make it better by flashing new software proves that the hardware is adequate. The only thing you could perhaps complain about is gps but if you're that dependent on it maybe you should take some time learning your way around...

With many of the new hot Sammy coming out I hope we don't lose too many of you great members and devs. I know many people will be tempted to transition to the new hot phones ( and I'm tempted too) but hope that the skyrocket will continue to get the love it deserves. With that being said if you do choose to move on to the next set of hot phones,I for one will miss many of you because I have been able to improve my phone and phone education because of you great forum members. Whatever you choose to do thanks again for your time. Sincerely. a fan. PS this sounds like a breakup letter but really it's a thank you kinda thing.

Know I don't do too much deving around here, but I'm always trying to do what I can to help out. Actually would love to start learning a bit. Had some experience on my Captivate. Only phone I'd really see myself jumping to is the SR HD, but chances are really slim to none with that since I JUST got this phone and the rest of my family uses iPhones...
Definitely nice to see that most of everyone is going to be staying with it though. Definitely seeing development heading in the right direction QUICK around here without so many people wining about everything. Yeah, we all have requests, but the last few phone forums I was on was nowhere near as productive as a community rather relying SOLELY on the dev to do everything for them. Yeah, would love to see some of those devs here like designgears, but we have a SOLID group here. Looking forward to what's coming for this phone!

I have switched over to Sprint and nabbed a SGS2 Epic Touch 4g. I jus would like to thank everyone on the G2X forums, the trolls, the DEVS, and the people who actually help one another by directing them to the right links to make their G2X experience awesome and jus right for them.
P.S I'm really missing my G2X running Miui on Faux. Time for me to move over to the Epic 4G Touch page. But G2X will remain in my Favorites.

You're right. People DO dumb **** all the time...like insinuate that ICS will keep a device relevant after it's out of date.
Got my SGSII today, as well. The TMo version, but nonetheless. A SUBSTANTIAL upgrade.
In my opinion, this wasn't a smart decision, especially considering the fact that the GSIII should be announced soon... You could've held off for a little bit longer!

Maybe he got it dirt cheap.
Trying to stay on the top of the technology curve with Android is impossible unless you have plenty of money to burn. I try to get a year or 18 months then upgrade. ICS is definitely keeping me with the G2x for the time being.

Pretty naive for you to say that. You'd be a fool to even think the G2x is remotely better than the SGS2.
Better processor, more RAM, bigger/better screen, and most importantly, actual support from Samsung as opposed to the lack there of from LG.

Hi everyone,
I'd just like to say that as of today I have sold my One S and decided to move on the the GS3. Why? Mainly because I'm looking for something with a better and larger screen. And the fact that HTC doesn't give a crap about development for our phones. The crappy bootloader unlock has been pissing me off, especially since I am on hboot 1.14 and I have to test different ROMs very often, needing to flash in fastboot every time. Without S-OFF, this phone can never archive its full potential, such as repartitioning the nand so that more GBs are allocated for personal use.
But this doesn't mean that I will completely stop developing for the One S. I will continue to update the ParanoidAndroid and AOKP JellyBean until or if they become official. I can't be the official device maintainer though. But the builds will keep coming and shouldn't have any major issues other than the ones in CM10. The kernels, however, will probably remain how they are now because it is nearly impossible to blindly develop and debug a kernel.
Thanks for all the support here; it was TONS better than the Galaxy Player community. I appreciate all the helpfulness and attitude in these forums and what a great dev experience I've had here.

I too will be moving to the Note 2 in February when myTMobile contract expires and moving to Verizon. Tired of pitiful coverage in Dayton Ohio.
