Battery Indicator 1% - Motorola Atrix 2

Hi,
Just playing around and found this one seem work very well for 1% indication. I understand its not a replacement for stock battery like the one we have in Apps section, but it works fine if you want to have indication without unlock the phone...Hope it helps for someone like me.

Edit:- Missed to add this, my phone is rooted and on stock 2.3.6. Not sure as it works on Un-Rooted phone. May be some one update if it works.

Working for me on 2.3.5 stock rooted.

How to calibrate your battery

This was originally posted for the htc desire, but it works with the nexus one as well apparently.
Wondering if anyone with poor battery would test this out with the captivate and post the results.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755903
I will try it but there are no leds on the Captivate. There is a battery icon that comes up on screen when off and charging though.
ya, there is no indicator but I figure the same steps would work.
The best way to know would be to download overcharged or battery indicator. They both report the status. I would but I am trying to figure stuff out with some superuser/superrooter issues I am having.
I noticed since the new firmware the battery life has gotten better.
I'd like to try this but i am happy with my battery life so far.
Gingerbread
I had did this on my Cappy with Froyo and it worked very well. However, I now have Gingerbread. From what I understand, you can't install clockworkmod on Cappy with Gingerbread yet.

Well that is kind of weird, my cappy running the i9000 GB Boot Loader, has CWM recovery. I dont know who said cwm could not be installed is mistaken, the only thing I know is Rom Manager install of CWM Recovery does not work since the versions are different. Check out the following for GB bootloaders:

Numeric battery meter on stock Rogers ROM?

I've installed the stock Rogers 2.2 firmware on a Captivate, rooted it, lagfixed it, etc. The only thing missing now is a numeric battery.
Has anyone found a way to put a numeric battery on the Rogers stock ROM? I've read about using the framework-res.apk from Cognition 2.2 but I'm not sure if that will work for non-AT&T devices.
Any ideas?
(Search is dead again, so I would've searched the Captivate forums if I could have)

Are you set on running Rogers stock? You're already somewhat past that having rooted and lagfixed it. I myself just put Firefly 2.3 on which is based off the Rogers 2.2 source. It's speedy, battery life seems good so far and it looks pretty snazzy.
Oh, and it has a numerical battery life indicator
Cheers.

I was running Perception build 5 (Froyo-based) because Rogers hadn't yet released 2.2. It was pretty good, fast, but wasn't the most stable of ROMs and there was stuff that just wouldn't work: SMS message timestamps being offset by 5 hours and so I had to use SMS Fix Times which wasn't in and of itself 100% reliable either; GPS was completely useless; etc.
I then tried Firefly 2.2 last week. Absolutely hated the dark look to be honest.
I'm now very happy with a rooted and lagfixed stock ROM. Everything works perfect: GPS, Wifi, 3G/H, mobile AP, SMS timestamps. Not to mention it's the most stable firmware I've ever had on my phone.
It's tweaked similar to the Perception I had on before and I'm not missing anything, e.g. I got rid of the horrid TouchWiz Launcher and installed Gingerbread Launcher from the market. I'm not missing anything from the custom ROMs except a numeric battery now, and perhaps the Gingerbread keyboard.
The only way I'm going to flash another custom ROM is if and when a 2.3 one is released
And there's a whole lot of private stuff on my phone. With any custom ROM out there who knows what's been injected in the code? I know it's being extra paranoid, but you never ever really know for sure and once that doubt has rooted itself in your mind it's pretty much over

The benefits of going back to Stock...

So I was and always have been an admitted flashaholic.. for the eye candy, the customization, the things you can't do on stock (non-root) such as tethering and such. I tried GB early on, too buggy, was happy with Froyo. More recently I flashed Synergy and am pretty happy but really beginning to question whether or not going back to stock is just the best way to go. The Netflix and Skype are cool but honestly don't use 'em all that often. Assuming I could still tether on stock and rooted, I just may do that.
I can't be alone here. I imagine many of you have gone back for battery life, less bugginess, etc. What are your thoughts, am I alone in this? If I'm not, why did you revert and what benefits do you see by doing so?
Not trying to sound like a smart ass...don't take it that way.
But I'd love to hear of someone going back to stock for better battery life.
That's one of the top reasons to root and ROM your phone. Fat and services not needed go bye bye...
Couldn't you still swap kernel tho on a stock rom? That was just an example and even if you were being a smartass it wouldn't bother me any. Here to learn man, here to learn. I have not experimented with my TB like I did my old WinMo phones, still a bit intimidated honestly.
Don't be intimidated. They're simple.
Keep a good backup plan.
You can't change ROMs or Kernals that I know of without root access.

Sounds like he is staying rooted just using rooted stock build, so he can still tether
I use the stock rooted froyo rom quit a bit still. Aosp is still work in progress although has come a long way and there hasnt really been a Verizon GB leak for the TB that is even close to a release build quality, Chingys is closest currently but only offered modded so far.

Try DroidTh3ory's AOSP build.
Damn near flawless.
He mentioned stock build non-root...so I thought that's where he was going...
My front camera does not work and the back camera stops working after a few uses. I then need to restart.
My question is, are there any GB Sense/AOSP roms that work well with the front and/or back camera?
Had no issue with Synergy, BAMF or DroidTh3ory ROMs when it comes to camera(s).
Yeah, would definitely stay rooted for tether but otherwise, the stock software is like 100% flawless, no glitches or hang ups whatsoever. If I'm not having wierd radio issues with most the GB roms, my MMS isn't the same, or overall the phone just feels more sluggish.
My battery life was just horrible with the stock. Once CM7 was stable enough to run as my daily driver I went to it. No issues at all and it runs just as smooth as the stock.
Back to Stock
My first TB was rooted and flashed with a variety of Froyo roms. I was constantly tweaking it and fiddling with it. But I dropped and busted it.
My replacement unit (from Geek Squad) arrived but I didn't have the spare time to root and flash. Then MR2 came.
Now, other than a modest improvement to my battery life, rooting and flashing really holds no benefit to me. I use EasyTether for tethering; it works just fine for me. Everything else . . . Just works.
Maybe after GB I might root . . . But only if I can gain some new functionality.

Sadly what works for some doesn't for others and some only notice it due to how they use their phone. Like on AOSP roms I have issues with missing calls and low in-call volume and network location. I haven't had as many issues on GB releases other than some messed up time stamps on SMS and small annoyances like that. I can get a full day on current froyo build and everything works.
I say run what works best for you that is why we are all rooted, so we have a choice just as we would on our computers or whatever.

Running rooted MR2 debloated. Everything just works. My gut feeling tells me we're in the "salad days" of the Thunderbolt right now. The MR2 release is that good.
Gingerbread will come soon and bring with it a host of problems just like it has when it was released on every other phone. I'm only rooted now so that I can stick with my current setup and ride out the GB release and subsequent fixes until it reaches a similar state of maturity.
MR2 has made the 'bolt a great phone. Yes, battery life could be better but the only fix there is a bigger battery (like the 1900mAh batt in the upcoming Bionic).
even if you go back to stock at least leave it rooted so that way you can always go back to flashing if you wanted. once you get the newest OTA you're locked in to the stock ROM till it get cracked.(if it hasn't already I'm rooted so I didn't pay too much attention to that)
I really cant think of a reason to go back to stock.
Ive been following droidtheory's roms, and he is a genius.
If u can live without sense, his latest aosp build is just amazing. No probelms whatsoever on my end (cam/skype/tether/sms/vids/gps/calls)
And battery life ia exceptional.
Honestly, imo, stock has got absolutely nothing on DT.

if you did not root your replacement TB, how are you using easytether? Doesn't it require root?
You say no cam issues? I have found that a big one for me... got an 8mp cam but flash some Rom's and loose quality! Lol I'm a noob

Every one of the ROMs seems to have something wrong with it and I got tired of dealing with it.
Bamf was just overloaded and seemed sluggish, text messages came in with the wrong timestamp.
CM7 was chewing up the battery in standby. It gets old fast, and having to set up all those accounts all the time is a nuisance.
I'm with ya bro, running stock debloated and have zero issues and Im getting great battery life.

[Q] What ROM will make my Charge work like I need!?

I'm just so effin fustrated cause this crap is getting old. ALL I WANT IS A PHONE THAT DOES WHAT IS SAYS! Stock was crap, so I rooted. Now the Roms I've tried are way above what stock was. I'm gratefull to all the Devs that make this all possible. I'm in no way upset with all their hard work. They've worked hard to improve the crappy stock ROMs. Here's a list of my probs...and this is common with ALL ROMS, stock, custom, bloated, debloated, odexed, deodexed, w/ voodoo, w/out voodoo. most of my probs are with the net.
4g freezes...I get constant hiccups when I need the net the most. I just want it to work all the time..jebus!
HotSpot freezes...this is caused by the problem above. Now I pay for hot spot and use the App, and since rooted I use WiFi tether. Still same prob. My PC loads pages fast and DL quickly, then all of a sudden...nothing. I have to cycle Airplane mode. This is just getting old already...just work like it does in the damn commercials!
SiriusXM....I love listening to it. I listen in the car, but when I have a 4G hicupp, music is gone...cycle airplane mode...or restart cause the App gets frozen as well. The app works by DL about 5 mins of airplay at a time...I get stops and freezes when it does that too.
Madden 12 not smooth...why have a game compatable with a phone that doesn't work properly? BS...
Same with Skype...never works like it should.
I just want my phone, apps, and internet to work when I need it. IS that too much to ask? I can never catch a break. Right now I'm on HumbleComb 4.0. So far this is the best ROM I've had. Still have same probs, but they happen fewer than with other ROMS...
I never tired Darkcharge cause it didn't have the toolbox. Now that it does I might try it. Should I? Or should I wait for the new 2.3.5 that P3 has been saying is the best Stock ROM beating out MotoBionic, and HTC Tbolt?
Anyone else have all these issues? Am I too picky? Just wanted to vent my frustration and see if other experience the same.
Check your PM.
sucks to hear you're having these problems but a lot of them are hardware/software related an not fixable as of yet, there is a huge issue with data connectivity on the Charge which seems to be the huge deal and the GB leaks are full of bugs (and not officially supported yet which is why there's problems with apps/games on GB)... the only thing I could suggest is Imnuts Infinity rom, I had maybe 1 little issue the whole time I ran it which I unfortunately can't say about the other roms
blazing through on my 4G Droid Charge
The best luck I've had is with the ep1w leak that I manually de-bloated, and zipalign using the ron toolbox. Also installed immuts repacked 2.3.5 voodoo kernal. Runs smooth. I can't remember my last force close or restart since I've been on this set up. Also using launcher pro plus

Thanks for the replys...I will try what has been suggested... still I hope when we finally get an official update(2.3.5)...and the ROMs that follow that..

TB to Charge - Advice Wanted

Because of the many issues with the TB, VZW has swapped out a charge as a replacement for my thunderbolt. Received the charge yesterday afternoon and I have already replaced the ROM using Odin with the ep1w which appears to be a stock rooted gingerbread rom.
I looked over the custom ROMs but since I've been with HTC phones for years they look a bit foreign to me and I don't know which one is which, what the differences are nor do I have a clue what "voodoo" is that I keep reading about.
I like a ROM that is clean looking (looked at Darkslide and the look of it made me cringe), doesn't have tons of added in features that break the basic services. I expect to learn more as I spend time in these forums now but for now I would like to get this phone up to speed without bricking or breaking it.
All advice and help will be read, considered and appreciated.

Here is the official page of Voodoo.
It is basically a tweak, that improve the color, sound and lag fix for Galaxy S phones, that's including Droid Charge as they are using the same processor.
You might want to check out GummyCharged ROMs, they look like vanilla stock Android. There are two versions, Froyo (FE) and Gingerbread (GBE).
There are also some other ROMs on other forums, that I'm not allowed to post the link here, google it =)
Didn't look like the link came through - is this what you were going to link?

Yup, thanks!
For rom recommendations I say try out infinity or gummy gbe. Both are gingerbread and supposedly good, though I haven't tried gummy gbe because infinity is great, both are available over at rootzwiki
Voodoo is EXT4 which many HTC's have that support.
I am using gummy charged gbe and I like it a lot. The status bar will force close ever now and then (pretty rare and it happens when you charge to 100% battery) but other then that it is smooth. Here is the rom. http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?6634-ROM-EP1W-CWM-GummyCharged-GBE-2.0-9-28-2011&
I would also apply supercharger tweaks. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...K0jfQLLLQ&sig2=MdzoMAhAadsmDvMvAmreiQ&cad=rja Download that and then download busybox installer, install version 1.18.2 and reboot. Then you will need script manager, open the script you downloaded and make sure you check "run as root." Follow the prompts and do option 12 for a HUGE improvement.
If you want a clean look then check out the theme I ported over from an HTC phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282585
And! Welcome to the Droid Charge forums, I hope you enjoy your new phone .
Thanks or the help and advice. I did put up Infinity rom and it seems pretty nice. No issues so far but its only been since last night.
As for gummycharge, the minute you mention fc's (even if only occasionally) and also when charged to 100 percent, you lose me. That's what I'm trying to get away from.
As for the other stuff, I'll take a look at it in the next few days. I want to live with each change so I know where I'm at before I push something else to this phone. Makes it a lot easier to troubleshoot if a problem arises. When you dump too much stuff on the phone all at the same time and something goes wrong you don't really have a starting point to work from in term of what is causing the issue.

The Gummy GBE RC edition was rather stable. I ran it since it came out, only having to go back to stock cause I have to go to Verizon later today.
