I spent hours trying to find Ridge Racer when i came across this app, its has most of the Japenese/Chinese releases, I've been downloading apps, but they've been really slow, even from my pc using a proxy, but some of you may have a better connection to this japenese sever so ive attached the APK of the market, another issue is, its all in japenese but the logo of the App/Game is there, so you can kinda tell
The attached file is a Zip, so just open it up with WinRAR or windows to extract the Apk
Also for some games you may need to register to their creator/company & you may need to change your Build.prop to make some apps think you have the japenese model (SO-0Di), also you may use & share this apk but put a link back to this thread! ADIOS!

Have the apps been patched to skip things like the mobage account loggings like on sonic 1 and others plus some of the games will always need build.prop changed for them too run (docomo SO-0Di). Are they playable? and can you post a link to the site?

Ive uploaded the APK & changed the whole thread
There a ton of Chinese android markets. My wife ( who's from China) has like 15 Chinese markets on her phone. Mostly for the Chinese apps that she cannot get here.
Wonder if I should make athread listing all the different Chinese markets and attaching the apks? The above app is Ndoo which is a Chinese market. Again I know there around 15+ so again let me people if you are interested. Some of the Chinese markets will detect English on your phone and default to that language for some to most of the apps interface.
Good find AwaisKhan. Its not very easy to find some of these markets.

If you search that market for (xperia play) theres a racing game (Racer) fully play optimized and all in English. Never seen it before but not bad game for only 30mb. I did here this was coming out with the release of the play but since we got are first Xplay last june never seen it anywhere.

Can't remember the name of the game exactly I thinks of just Racer. Its just OK. Controls are a bit sluggish. Graphics are nice. It is Xperia Play optimized and it shows In the games launcher.

Could be a developer thing. Maybe they limit it to a select markets to test out and see what happens. Other then that I dont understand why a developer wouldnt want to release it worldwide if they can, get them more notice and recognition.

Every where I have seen this game its listed as free. If I had any doubt that it wasnt I would not have listed the download link, however if I or someone else finds that it is not free and can post a link of where they say it then I will promptly remove this download link.
So what are some of the better games on that market? Personally if you said we can get that pocket station app.. id be sold. =p

Yeah its legal. Google has stated many times that if someone wants to make a market go for it. Thats why we have Amazon crAppstore and a few others. I have but dont necessarily use like 15 different android markets. My wife has about 10 chinese android markets on her phone, mostly because she is Chinese and wants certain apps she cannot get on the android market. (Google android market)

Yeah the controls are sluggish, I mentioned that already. It could be a good game if it wasnt for the controls being sluggish and splashy....... the graphics are nice though but look are not everything.

It'd be just like downloading it from your android market app. Just more convenient, Since you can back them up on your computer should something tragic happen to your phone. If the game was not free it'd see you didnt pay for it and ask you to before you play. Most paid apps would anyways.

some Chinese android forums develop their own "market clients".
because Google official market is often being censored in China, these markets provide alternative solutions for noobies.
and apps they provided may include unofficially translated version or cracked version.

I'll test out the game once I get off from work since I told the Market to install it for me.

Sorry, yes that link has the download link.... I finished the post and saved it before giving the link to my friends thread, but its there now ..... enjoy as this Black themed Market is sweet plus it also unlocks regions checks on it, so that apps that normally wouldnt show up in your country will show up now in search results. Doesnt mean apps are free, it just simply lets you view items on the market you would not be able to view unless on your PC, MAKING THAT VERY CLEAR......

Several.... mostly I like it becuase I can find other games from other countries on it whereas before I would scour the Google play via my PC to see all the games.... thats how I found several Japanese RPG's and King of Fighters 3 weeks ago...

No it will let you see the apps but unless your phone is supported it will NOT let you download the app, plus i have already tried to install the Ridge Racer apk and it will not work as it is on our phones, as its for a Sharp Aquos 3D phone from Japanese carrier Docomo..

DANG..... well guess not, I tried your link above on it and it still says not available...... I'm begining to question to what extent the modded markets removal of region restriction is....... I have seen some japanese korean apps that show up on it but didnt show up before.... but the ps1 games do not allow....hmmmmmmm ... sorry ya'll dont know what gives...

I'm outside US/Canada and I wish someone can mod Play Store so we (outside) can browse music, books and video stuff.
I can do this but I need to start WiFi hotspot on my laptop, through Hotspot Shield, clear Play Store data, and then access to full market.

Umm, I was too scared to flash the zips (i usually get bootloops or problems even when others are successful,lol ) and Im used to manually copying system apps so I did the 2nd step from the thread. But Do we really need both apks (Vending.apk and Phonesky.apk to have this properly themed?) I only ask, because the Phonesky.apk is not originally in our system/app folder of our phone. I would think the Vending.apk is where the theming was done.
Edit** I do see the changes and its a nice look for the Play store.

Yes, root is necessary...this installs either via manually using root explorer to copy paste the files in the proper root only folders, or you install via Custom Recovery
I have modified Post 1 with the instructions and download links... before you had to go to my friends thread to get the files and info... but now its there on POST 1...... to fend off any confusion

I don't know I've tried it on my other play too and the same thing its totally ****ed I'm not gonna bother with this until that **** is fixed or just not bother at all. And another thing when I flashed the invertedphonesky.zip it gave me bootloops

Thats why I manually replace system/app's instead of flashing in cwm. I get the bootloops a lot.lol. But about the "error downloading update" message I only got that error on one app that tried to update(apn backup+switch). It just updated google maps and Adobe flashplayer automatically and I didnt get errors.
*Edit* Just tried downloading a couple apps from Play Store, & all were fine except Facebook for Android app. For Facebook app I get "Error" Your order is processing. It will be available in a couple minutes."??? Is that just, because I deleted all Facebook bloat from my phone or what?

Did you try market unlocker... Download it choose a US carrier and then you can download google music, movies and all that

As of the latest update, it's marked as "incompatible" even for US carriers.
...even more strange is that Desert Winds (a flagship Xperia PLAY title) now displays the screen "This game is not compatible with your device".

Its got something to do with the new market. Instead of saying region not available its says device not compatible. This i think is down to Google trying to stop the Market faker apps to bye pass regions. Its available in North U.S only at mo. Does state on there site Xperia Play supported.
I have the old app in only portrait this new landscape version will be nice for the play

To be honest, the snapdragon gamecommand is just ok. I am really not impressed with it. Especially after it initially was released showed like 10 games then afte a couple days, 3 then to just 1. I have not used this app in months. Unless its seriously changed I wont bother with it again.. just my 2 cents

Yeah it was not great. But with the demise if the ICX Launcher never appearing. This new version in landscape with editable app selection is the next best thing. I found now I have so many games on my phone that the xperia play launcher can't handle it anymore and have loads if lag and re draws

It shows incompatible with my r800X Xperia Play on Verizon (CDMA), but it shows that it _IS_ compatible with my old Motorola Droid (A855, OG Droid).
I'm pretty sure the Droid doesn't have a Snapdragon chipset or Adreno GPU.

Doesn't seem too special to me, if ur using the stock launcher, just add a folder to the dock or home screen, if ur using a different launcher, there are ways to do the same, this is what I have done:

Yeah... you are right about that.... other then the Xperia Launcher (non-editable) This is the next best thing.
Anyone else havng force closures? I am getting them constantly on the latest version..

The developer should be adding Xperia Play Controls but as its an early Beta (Would not of thought it by the quality) is has basic options in the app (game in full of course) you can use USB controllers if know your input event (e.g dev/input/event?). I have tried mapping the buttons on Xperia Play the D-pad works and you can map Cross. If anyone finds a better way of mapping to play please post your findings.

Description: Return to Castle Wolfenstein - PC game, first person shooter, developed by id Software, Gray Matter Interactive, Nerve Software and published by Activision November 20, 2001 exclusively for personal computers running operating systems Microsoft Windows, Linux and Mac OS. player will have to go in the shoes of Agent-2 from the organization Office of Secret Actions (OSA) named William "BJ" Blazkovich, who was the protagonist of Wolfenstein 3D . by this port - I, native-part of the port based on kwaak3, and JNI + Java part I rewrote again, because I could not live with krivosti kwaak3 (though maybe I'm kind of surpassed it in terms of the curvature). As you know, Return to Castle Wolfenstein under GPL license, source code will be available after publication on Google Play. Yeah. It runs fine can only map cross at mo (and d-pad already works). Great port so far.

Hell yeah ......has any one tried using gamekeyboard on this yet? Only thing is that the game, except for the menu, is all distorted across the screen.
unfortunately, i cant start a game...due to how distorted the game gets i cant tell what is going on ....the only thing that actually woks is the main menu lol
It works perfectly on my nook color though lol....maybe I can find a way to use my play as a controller haah...in combination with gamekeyboard I could use the hardware keys....now to just find an app that let's me so this

I tried this on a 7" generic tablet and it works very smooth, control is a lot better if you set "Always run" to OFF, and bump the mouse sensitivity to your liking.
Still, I tried using a mouse through OTG(I checked "Hide onscreen buttons and enable mouse" option before starting the game), and I can see the Android mouse cursor in-game, but I cannot use it to click on "Play", "Options", etc.
If I swipe my finger across the screen I can move the in-game mouse cursor(different than the Android one), but I cannot select anything, as the onscreen buttons are disabled...
is there a way to set in English, whe i press button i can't shot with the gun for example can you help me

Where did you get the Original game (Sd Data) from? Sounds like you need to delete Language Pak files which are not English. The app is complete English menus in app and in game for me with my version from Steam.

I installed the game on my pc and directory (Program Files) I have the folder: Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
And there in a lot of files that weigh a total of 627 MB.
Which of all I have to put those files?

All of them....just copy all the files in the folder to a folder called rtcw4a then put that folder onto the root of the sdcard.

The same guys from 4pda.ru are porting it. On youtube there must be a prealpha video. Oh and by the way found yesterday in the Internet a apk which is about 50mb. Its a little piece of the game for just showing the gameplay where you can walk around and look at mutants and so on. Must say it looks perfect, smooth as butter( but only touch atm) Believe its called projectS.T.A.L.K.E.R.
So from what i saw this absolutely will be a hit.
Well with the final beta apk the game works fully now. Yay. Now to make a gamekeyboard layout for it. I'll let you know once its ready.

For now, I just wanted to share that info with you guys, but my personal tests will come tommorow, cause today I don't have time for this. It doesn't look like made for Xperia Play, but hopefully it will be playable (in description there is information, that is game for 512MB+ RAM so maybe it will be 100% flawlessly, who knows ). Will update this topic once I test myself, or if somebody do this faster .

It seems it's not optimized, but on second page there is partly .gkp profile for GameKeyboard, which makes game playable with our touchpanel .

Wow!! Working perfectly smooth. Best graphics I've ever seen on my Play, no joke. No option for physical controllers, but that's to be expected. This game uses a normal joystick control scheme which makes it a prime candidate for GameKeyboard!
I think im in love! Using Gamekeyboard, I have a full console setup, left stick to walk and right stick to slice just like in blood and glory or metal gear rising!

I am going to email the dev of thisbgame either today or this weekend and ask about adding xperia gamepaf/toychpad/triggers support. I would like to encourage everyone to send a small email thanking them for their hard work and asking if they would consider adding support forboue phone and also informing them that they can contact Sony for a free xperia play, at least if I remember correctly. And in case it wouldn't hurt adding a linknfor TLRtheory's website and detailing the how to optimize your game thread and of course informing them of this thread and how we would all be wiping to beta yesterday free of charge. Just try to detail what they have to gain and next to no cost...if that. Anyways going to work now. See y'all

Think they have an Xperia Play already and have developed for it before .Game is actually made by Luma Arcade makers of Racer which never got completed but demo was optimized (you posted about that)
Would be great to be optimized but would have to chop out parts of the fighting system (e.g slashing and the special moves were you have to match the on-screen pattern) but could be auto buttons for them.

I tested this game on the Xperia Play. Impressive graphics and gameplay. Run smooth on the Play, however, i get "force close" with 3 minutes of game, all the time. Any solution?

Try the attached gkp. Left touchpad for movement, right touchpad swipes for combat. You can edit the other buttons as you wish.

I get this issue if the device has low memory. Try playing it after a reboot. Should work out fine even with Gamekeyboard activated.
I'm terribly sorry for long waiting for some update of thread, but now I updated info that is not officially supported with XP touchpanel, but GameKeyboard can make magic . Also, I think I can handle some good .gkp in the future, but you see how bad is with free time for now...Sorry again ^^.

1. Place the GKP file in your SD card root folder.
2. Go to settings option in GameKeyboard. It is the 4th step.
3. Choose Import Profile & then navigate to the SD card root folder & select the GKP file.
4. If the below options are not set, select them.
1. Settings->Show Analog Stick
2. Settings->Use Analog
3. Settings->Touchscreen Mode
4. Advance Input Detection
5. Alternate Key Detect
