I need help!
My HTC sensation 4G is stuck on the boot screen where it says, "htc quietly brillant" I followed all the steps to flash, and install the rom. What can I do at this point?
For those who have installed Android Revolution, how long did it take you to boot up? And also I can still use bootloader and recovery and such. Please help!
Did you install the required firmware? It sounds like you didn't. Also after installing firmware, remember to remove PG58IMG.zip from your SD card.
What is the required firmware?
Seriously, did you just Google 'custom ROM' and then click the first link you found? Messing around with ROMs, firmwares, kernels and apps can leave you with an unusable phone - as you have now found.
Please, please, please go and read the instructions in the Android Revolution thread. It's all there, I promise.
Lulz. Yea u need 3.24 fw. The directions are in huge bold letters.
Its super easy to do.

Sent From Space Using My ICS Flavored Sensation

Ok now flash ur ics rom u have. No problem man.

Which rom is it? Boot time should be about 3-5 mins.
Dont pull the battery if it seems long. Let it sit up to 10 mins.

Android Revolution Rom 6.21
Awesome. Ok. It should be running now. Yes?
Sent From Space Using My ICS Flavored Sensation
Omg it worked yesss thank you so much your a life saver!!!!
Dont flash any gingerbread based roms now that u have the 3.24 firmware.
Also if u dont like this rom i HIGHLY suggest u try virtuous inquisition V3.0 thats what i run and its pure awesomness. Also remeber that anytime u flash an ics rom make sure u install that superwipe each and everytime u flash a rom.

Yes, eventually to Sense 3.5 (2.3.5) and then awhile down to the road to ICS (hasn't been confirmed, but I'm pretty sure).

Well I tried the Sense-o-Maniac 2.3.5 sense 3.5 rom and I didn't really like it I guess cause I didn't notice anything different. Other than some bloat removed and beats audio which I loved! But I watched my phone go from 100% to 95% in 10 minutes of just listening to music....Dont Know why though....I would like to know what are the best roms that any of you can advise me to try that is good on battery life and get quite a differnet kick out of it if that makes sense
I haven't tried a Sense ROM if you're looking for that. CM7 is pretty different from any sort of Sense ROM but people have some mixed reviews on the battery life. It's been ok to pretty good for me, but I have an extended battery and I underclock/undervolt and use a custom kernel.
You could try Leedroid 4.0. Works great MIUI is awesome too. I personally use kernels from Faux but you could use stock kernels or kernels from Bricked too.

Ok problem I followed the steps to turn s back on and now its stuck at the boot loader screen i tried the following pull out battery and re-insert due to the security warning and then tried to re-run ruu.exe well everything went fine except one small thing signature error 132....so now my phone is stuck in the damn bootloader screen where i can pick boot loader reboot etc.....what do i do? Please ANY HELP?
Extract the ROM.zip from ruu rename PG58IMG.zip, put on root of sd card, boot to hboot and, when prompted, yes to flash.
Thank you alot. I downloaded a newer ruu and it worked. I am now s-on and factory 2.3.4 is there any way to flash sensation xl factory Rom without root? Just by using ruu?

as far as i got it is your phone a 4g and u want to flash xl ruu ? at least u need supercid for that and dont nail me on that answer but i think u need root for supercid

Simple and easy! relax. heres what you need to do:
1. U must be rooted and s-off which I assume you are, right?
2. Do superCID, It is very easy and simple. Scroll down here and follow instruction on #4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 Just download the adb tool, make sure you have htc synce installed in ur PC cause you need the HTC drivers and make sure your phone is plugged in as charge only. Also make sure you check usb debugging in settings.
Then basiclly follow the steps in # 4 .
3. Now after all that is done, it is time for the Firmware. Simple, download it from the posted link. Copy it and paste it into the root of your SD card. So you go computer >> Removable disk and paste it there. Now turn off your device. Then Boot your device holding power button + vol down button and you follow the screen just say yes! it will do itself until its done. Now shut ur phone down and removed the SD card. Plug it to your computer and removed the Firmware from your SD card. Then put the SD card back in phone, Boot your device holding power button + vol down button and do superwipe and then flash your ROM!!! you all set!! Again "Make sure u remove Firmware from SD card when its done installing or else you will end up in bootloops"!
Ejoy!
thank you. 2 more questions:
which firmware should i chose and i can still run gb on them ?
Virtuous inquisition runs on the 3.24 firmware(I believe, haven't checked the thread in a few days,) so I would flash the 3.24 firmware. Firmware 3.24 and above isn't compatible with gb roms though, so you'd have to flash older firmware if you wanted to revert to gb afterwards. Hope I helped

And that's the reason why you should have SuperCID first, so you can downgrade back to GB ROM.
If you're that much of a n00b then you shouldn't do ANYTHING until you know what you're doing. What if something goes wrong? Do you know the RUU to use to get back to stock?
Search and find the answers as knowledge is power!
I'd tend to side with Eddyos on this one. Flashing the newest firmware does give you ICS but it also complicates your life because it is more difficult to go back to GB. Personally I'm waiting for an actual official htc released ICS rom before I make the jump, GB does everything I need and want and doesn't give me any problems at all. I see you're on cm7 right now, have you tried any of the 3.0 or 3.5 rom's yet? If not, I'd give those a try first before jumping into the firmware upgrade and ICS, but it's all up to you in the end though, weigh the benefits vs the issues and decide for yourself if it's worth it.
I agree with ^^^^, flashed the ICS firmware on my phone, and while i like alot of the new functionality and visual look of it, it is definitely not complete.
Give it a few weeks and then make the move
Lol thats a bit harsh. A noob must learn by experience.

I really don't know what to do now anymore
I tried to install Clockworkmod 5.0.2.0 Pyramid on my Sensation XE
Now it keeps rebooting, I've tried to reinstall, that didn't help
I can't install earlier versions.
What to do now???
i suggest you to install 4ext recovery...it is the best one out there

Well I have rooted my previous Sensation succesfully so I thought, this can't be that hard.
Using this guide
My Sensation XE is S-OFF now.
HBoot version 1.27.1100
(PICTURE)
It went wrong at step 2: install recovery
After it went wrong I have installed a lot of other different versions and eventually I have 4ext recovery on it.
And it's also possible to get into that recovery (PICTURE)
I was also able to root my phone, but it still doesn't boot
My computer does make a sound like he detects my HTC, but I'm not able to detect it using ADB (adb devices)
Bootloop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pAFHLHP_sw
After you did firmware upgrade you need to flash ICS ROM, 1.27 h boot will bootloop with GB ROMS. Download an ICS ROM to your pc, check MD5, then power off phone and remove battery and sd card, insert your sd card in card reader on your pc, now delete the PM58IMG file from your sd card and place the ROM on your sd card, also download superwipe script from Mike's thread and place that on your card as well. Next safely remove sd card from pc and put it back in your phone, replace battery, boot into recovery, flash superwipe, then flash the ROM, reboot phone and you should be good.

it's not my fault if you are a noob and you don't even know that recoveries can be flashed via fastboot! it is the only way to get it working in your case! and if you have flashed an ICS fw you have to install the right rom and not the rom that you want! it is written everywhere! so calm down and read!

Hello guys,
I have posted about this issue before maybe six or more months ago, but it was not sorted out. So basically my problem is that I am running LeeDroid 3.3.3 on my phone. I have been using this ROM since the first time I rooted my phone. The problem is that I want to change this ROM, but my phone will not run any other ROM at. Any ROM that I install my phone hangs on the white HTC logo screen and does not go anywhere from there. I have had a few instances where my phone would load up a new ROM that I try to use, but it would eventually freeze and when I would restart the phone, it would never get past the white HTC screen. My phone does seem to load up Cyanogen Mod successfully most of the time, but I do not like that ROM. I have tried to re-root my phone, use a different SD card, format my SD card and used both CWR and 4ext recovery to try to install different ROMs. Nothing but the original stock ROM, LeeDroid 3.3.3 and Cyanogen Mod load up and I hope that someone might have dealt with a similar issue over this time that has passed. Thanks for reading and hope you can help!

did you do complete wipe of phone using super wipe
Yes. I don't use superwipe thought. I just wipe everything with 4ext Recovery. I used to use superwipe, but it did not help.

Make sure that your phone does not have a hardware issue. There's no reason for a custom rom to work and other not if you are S-OFF. Make sure that the roms are for your phone and not for a different device, that might explain that.

Yes, my phone is S-OFF as it says in bootloader and every ROM I try comes from the Inspire 4G Developer section in this forum. I am left to believe that this really is a hardware issue, but how can my phone be the only one? I have never heard anyone else have a similar issue. And it is also weird that LeeDroid 3.3.3 works no problem.

Well I unrooted my phone using the ACE hack kit a few times and then rooted it again and tried to put on a different ROM each time but my phone still does not load the ROM. My phone loads up the backup LeeDroid no problem though. So I was wondering if something from LeeDroid changed my phone that it does not accept any other custom ROMs. I wonder also if I unrooted the phone with a new pd98 zip from a phone that didnt have LeeDroid on would possibly help?

No you need the rooted att pd98 zip. You are already rooted no need to mess with the ace hack kit. Power up with volume down and power button into hboot you should see s-off meaning its rooted just reboot and download zip then just place in root of SD card power off then power up to hboot with volume down and power button it will recognize zip volume up for yes to install let it do its thing then your back to rooted stock att gingerbread rom and radio. Then install whichever custom rom you want just follow their installation instructions on their page.

Step 1: Download 3.33 firmware from the thread in the dev section. The file you download should be called "PG58IMG.zip" (without the quotes) so if it isnt rename it to that then copy it to the root of your sd card.
Step 2: Put the sd card into the phone and boot into the bootloader using vol up and power keys. Then follow the onscreen instructions to flash the firmware.
Step 3: wait until the firmware is flashed - do not turn the phone off or remove the battery or do other stupid thing as this will brick your phone.
Step 4: Download the latest version of whatever ROM your using and flash it through 4EXT recovery
Step 5: Done! Reboot and enjoy!
