[Q] OTA update

I've got a question, my sensation is completly rooted and S-off.
If a new release gets available thrue OTA.
Can I instal this, like I updated the stock device to a newer version?

If you have a custom-made ROM you cant get ota unless ota still in the ROM arhd doesn't have that option dont now about other roms,,
And if you can use a ota, you pose root.. and s-off or it has to be in the update

Should i OTA update to android 2.3.4

I am really confuse right now. I have htc sesnsation 4g us version and it is rooted. Yesterday i got this ota update on my phone. And i downloaded it and saved it on my sd card. But i am not sure should i do it or not.
If i update to 2.3.4, am i gonna lose root. And any other feature ?
Or is it better to update?

you probably have s-off so why not just flash the TMOUS 2.3.4 roms that are on here?

New OTA.

Just noticed OTA icon on my Sensation this morning.
Does anyone know what kind of update is that?
My phone is rooted, S-Off with CWM 5.0.0.8 installed, but still with the stock ROM.
Should I accept the update or it will mess up my phone?

I haven't recived anything. But you can't update, you need stock recovery as well

That's the android 2.3.4 update, it doesn't change much.

I'm running the OTA 2.3.4 update and I received the update notification a few days ago. It says it's an update to HTC Music and HTC Listen. I installed it, it went through the processes, I got install successful message but I don't notice a difference.

i got this update a couple of days ago too

It fixes an option in the music app to let u quickly switch back to the tracklist from the now playing screen.

[Q] OTA update after rooting?

I searched other threads but i did not get the answer i needed...
If I root my HTC sensation and keep my stock rom wil i still receive ota updates?
And if so after receiving the update to ICS will I loose root?
And witch is the best way to root my sensation?

If you just root and stay on stock then you should get ota updates. And yes you will loose root after updating to ICS. But you can always re-root.

If u have a custom recovery make sure u flash stock recovery bc an official update can brick it. Seen it happen on other phones.

Just run the RUU. That will bring stock recovery back.

Can somone point me the right RUU for my eu sensation? I used revelutionairy.io did it change my recovert?
What did revolutionairy.io do to my phone? For i was thinking that it rooted my phone... can i somehow change it back all the way to stock?

Then u need to make sure all your htc drivers work. Also try getting the ruu from a diff source.

I have debranded my ex vf sensation to a stock european rom and rooted it, too.
So I can't get ota updates any longer? To receive them I have to go back to the vf rom? Is there really no workaround/fix?

Root or wait for ICS update?

Hey ya'll I'm coming from a rooted Mytouch4g that I did a warranty exchange with, got the Sensation last night I've been reading we will get the ICS update next month.
I'm already itching to root this phone I sure do miss the simple root apps like ad block.

I guess it depends on your comfort zone ;-)
There are many ICS ROMs based on "leaked HTC ICS" that work well. Until the official HTC ICS comes out we don't know the delta.

I, personally, would root, but I haven't had an unrooted device in two years lol. I'm on gingerbread still, because every ICS rom I've tried hasn't been as stable or fast as my modified cm7. It's really up to you, but if you've had your last phone rooted, chances are you'll root this one too lol, it's just a matter of when. Anyway, welcome to the sensation forums and good luck

Nothing wrong with rooting, it's possible to unroot if u have to send it back for defects, why not

Thanks fellas...I guess what it is is that I didn't succeed in getting S on once I went back to stock on the mytouch before I sent them both back lol o well seems rooting is easier on this phone then the gfree method for the mytouch and that was pretty easy itself
