Hey, I noticed something awkward with my phone screen. On the edge under the home button it sometimes will click as if the screen is going back into place. I already took one phone back to the att warranty center and they gave me a new phone, but now it is starting again on this new phone. Are any of you getting this click as well?

Very common problem. Design flaw with manufacturing. I have a case so I don't notice

Not a design flaw. Thats because there is nothing under that section of the glass screen. You are actually bending the glass in and will crack it if you are not careful. Helpful hint. If you don't push there it won't click.

I'm having very strange issues with my screen and would like to know if other people are experiencing the same with their Sensation.
When I press with 2 fingers slightly harder then I would normally touch on the screen, it looks like the screen consist of multiple 'layers' which stick together. When releasing my fingers it also sounds like a sticker is being peeled of a surface.
Next to this all I find the actual phone part fitting very loose in its "backcover".
Unfortunately HTC is close today and tomorrow, but as soon as I have been in contact with them I'll post an update.
Pretty sure that's the screen separated from the glass that people are talking about. It's the reason dust can get in there too from what I've read.
Yep, I've got it too. Getting my phone replaced.

The pressure thing or the loose fit?
Both, it seems.
yeah i have the same problem i dont know if i can get replacement cuz i buy my sensation from ebay
The screen issue is just the way its built, it happens on all of the Sensation's.

Yeah that's what I thought too, this phone is made that way. Just like the mytouch 4g screen.

I don't think HTC intended to build the screen with a defect. The same issue happened with the Nexus One with the bottom two corners of the touchscreen layer not sticking properly which resulted in dust getting in between the touchscreen and the amoled display.
What I mean is that it isn't a defect, that is just how its made.

Why would a screen be made to make noises when you press it hard?
No wonder why when I was playing with a Mytouch 4G demo the screen would press down like a resistive touchscreen. The layers in the screen is probably the reason for the dust entering, so expect similar dust issues like the Mytouch 4G.

It doesn't cause any problems and you have to really press hard to notice it, much harder than you ever normally would.
I imagine it has something to do with the contoured glass design, or it's a side effect of the manufacturing process.

As i said before, this sounds like a manufacturing defect similar to the Nexus One. There was a big debacle on the Google N1 forums with the initial batch of the phone due to the dust issues because the screen did not stick properly.
I would expect the similar issues with dust to appear on the Sensation which is really a shame. The N1 is now almost two years old and HTC has not learned on their mistakes yet?!
Well, no dust is under my screen as of yet and I can't see any reason that this would cause a problem. We'll see if more people have it.
I can't imagine HTC using such a bad screen design :S
I would assume off hand it is a defect.

Well the screen isn't designed to ever be pressed that hard. I can only replicate this is the middle of my screen, and I have to press uncomfortably hard for it to do it.
But what about the loose fit of the back cover? You guys feel the same? HTC is going to pickup my phone tomorrow and hopefully they won't ignore my complaints.
yes I have the loose back cover too. Has like a gap when pressed? Trying to get a exchange from Walmart but no more in stock.
I am waiting for mine to come in tomorrow, got it with overnight shipping from T-Mobile, but dickheads sent it out via UPS Ground, so tomorrow I should get it, I have the MT4G right now, and I only have dust in the front camera, nowhere in the screeen and I've been pressing everywhere and the screen seems solid on this one.
Ughhh, I really don't want to get a new phone and go through shipping in and out, if I get dust in the one I'm getting tomororw *knock on wood*
I noticed that when pressing the bottom buttons or holding the phone sometimes will result in a squeak. The one at the T-Mobile store did this too. A little annoying.
There's only 3 buttons on this phone. Power button and volume rocker up/ down. Perhaps you're pressing your screen too hard. I have heard no squeaks. I also use a screen protector and a case though.

Okay, cool. I thought I was the only one experiencing this. Guess I wont send my phone back afterall; forbid me getting a replacement that doesn't work.

I don't care how hard I push anything on the Sensation I have, it doesn't squeek.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
unfortunately, mine has the sqeak as well.
Mine doesn't squeak but it definitely feels a little loose. A nice gel skin case solves that though.
Mine creaks very very slightly when I press certain areas of the battery cover, but nothing more than that.
it doesn't squeek.
So far......
Mine doesn't squeak but does make a clicking sound and feel when I press the bottom buttons.... Three replacements and all have done it. Pissed me off that a high end phone does this.

it is known that after taking the back cover on and off a couple times the sensation starts to squeak...but this is easily fixed with adding a thin layer of paper within the backcover or just tape it (keep the antennas open)
has anyone had issues with the case at the bottom of the phone creeking?
I can feel play at the bottom by the home screen buttons. It appears that the lock button on the bottom does not secure the cover tight
thanks
You are the first and only person to have experienced the creaking issue. I am sure that if you search for "creaking" you will definitely not find dozens of posts on this issue and even possible solutions.
Haha first? There's many of ppl tht hav it. My bro has it. I kinda have it a little on the top.

If it's really bugging you, you can always contact HTC for a replacement case. There was another thread in the accessories forum about it with contact information, I believe.
Also, depending on your carrier, if you suspect it may be the fault of the phone-not the case, see if you can get your carrier to "warranty replace" your phone. I know that on T-Mobile you can get them to replace your unit within the first year if there's no water damage, etc.
Hey guys, I had a question about the front camera on the One X.
I have mine, and it seems that the camera & glass is recessed inside of the casing about 2mm. I was wondering if it's supposed to be this way or not? Its quite a deep recess, its impossible for me to clean dust off the lens without using something like a toothpick because it is so deep and small. So I'm just wondering if this is normal or not. Thanks
Normal. Mine is the same way.

Confirmed, same here.
Okay thanks, just had to make sure. Seems kind of strange since it makes it very difficult to clean
Lol I didn't wanna sound like a tweaker
But I tried cleaning it and it sucks
It's a bad design element for sure. I use what looks like a little makeup application brush to dust it out.
Yup. Only part of my phone that doesn't look brand new...

I think the point of it being recessed is so you DON'T have to clean it. Usually you get finger prints all over the lens and grease because most cameras are flush with the front....with this deisgn, the lens avoids that
You could always spray some computer cleaner/compressed air in there

Mine has been away for repair. I never noticed before, but although mine is recessed there appears to be nothing protecting the camera module. If I look from the side there is a small gap to the inside of the housing. Is this right?? I suspect the repair centre has screwed up and forgotten to put something in there. If I shoved something in there to clean it I would basically be cleaning the tiny lens of the camera.
Can anyone post a picture of what it's supposed to look like as I have nothing for comparison.
Also they (Regenesis) have left a gap in the seal between the top of the LCD panel and the bezel AND the original fault of a stuck pixel is fixed only to the extent that there is another stuck pixel elsewhere.
Am I within my rights to demand a brand new unit from HTC? I think it's unacceptable to be messed around like this, bearing in mind the expense of the unit. I also totally distrust the capabilities of Regenesis, based on this and my experience sending an HTC Sensation away for repair last year.
Ok, so my Doubleshot has had the screen black and not responding across 4 roms now so I have concluded it is a hardware issue. As I Type this I am limited to soft kb only cuz anytime I slide the phone open it blacks out. Does that sound like a flex cable or the screen itself? Note: I have to tap the slide part to make the screen come back. Any help would be appreciated. This phone is hard to replace in my area without eBay which I don't trust... So please offer help or advice or whatever. Thanks.

At least it's not the G2. If you haven't seen one, it has a really freaky hinge where the hinge hinges at both ends and does not bend, so the screen flips up and over, so at the top point the screen and the keyboard are a hinge length apart.... Sorry, that's a really worthless description, but I can't describe it any better!
Anyway, the G2 has a really unusual hinge, and my flex cable went out. I called HTC, and they said that I could send it in, but likely it wouldn't be covered under warranty because it breaks so often... Thanks HTC!
Well... It seems the flex cable is fine. I was preparing my phone for shipping and when i removed the front clip of my case the screen came on... Slid the phone open and rotated as prescribed... Did some research and some cases/covers obscure or put pressure on the proximity sensor causing it to disable the screen. Good news is i'm under warranty if i'm wrong... But since i took the front piece of my cover off the phone works perfectly. Weird huh? Didn't have this problem with the Body Glove case.
